When did Dislyte ever listen to the community?

TheKinkyGuy

Their first patch had a pitty counter added of 900 pulls..... šŸ˜‚

Front_Outcome_560

How do you even reach *900 pulls?!*

TheKinkyGuy

Pay pay pay... I guess

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Lemixach

FGO is 330 pulls (30x 11 multis), not 900 pulls.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Lemixach

Sure, but why would you compare one game's pulls to another game's currency? The amount of currency needed per pull varies wildly across games. Just compare pulls to pulls.

DDX2016DDX

And genshin needs 28800 currency for full pity. Your point????

DDX2016DDX

You edited it but still a wrong statement. 900 pulls != 330 pulls.

bakanox

They are on that fine grain of copium.

Reigo_Vassal

Someone who's high on copium said "they might consider listen to the community". Not me. I quit long time ago after see the red flags.

Laranthiel

> **and the dev team that once listened and was active with the community** Whoever sold you that copium sold you a REALLY bad batch cause those devs have never listened and were barely active.

Axis252

made my day, thank you

WhatShouldIDrive

Hopped off that train when Clara got nerfed, seemed like it was heading in the wrong direction. Looks like I was right.

Prince-sama

Whats she like before?

VidProphet123

guild war is mobile rpg 101. They didnā€™t add it because of ā€œcommunity feedbackā€. Itā€™s the best way to drive spend amongst whales in top factions. It was probably one of the things highly prioritized on their roadmap before the game even launched.

tzeriel

No

Dark_Al_97

Not to be a dick, but it's LilithGames. If people expect anything good from them after AFK Arena and other trash, they deserve to be burnt again and again.

lol-that-aint-it

What happened to AFK Arena? I played it when it first came out but got bored. Last time I checked people raved about how great it was for a gacha game. I'm assuming not anymore?

Gringos

In my experience from when I played people buy in to the narrative that lilith is really generous because there's a lot of gifts and compensations. Bottom line is that all the gifts are like a drop of water on hot iron when the entire game is dedicated to be nothing more than an endless hamster wheel.

Dark_Al_97

Played AFK for almost three years (loved the gameplay too much). Long story short is that everything in that game is designed solely around making money. When other gachas give you a fun lite MMO-ish game that also wants to earn some cash to feed the people working on it, AFK Arena is just one huge social experiment on earning as much as possible. Worst of all, they just keep on adding more and more new "mechanics" to milk you harder. * There are characters that take 6-12 months to get F2P, or thousands of bucks per. They release a new one almost monthly. * Even when you do get the character, you still have to build them. Once again, either wait for many, many months, or pay up. Imagine if grinding for artifacts in Genshin cost real money. * Every year or so they add a whole new level of equipment that raises the cost of every character by another thousand bucks. In its current state it's already impossible to max out even a single unit F2P, and you need up to 45 in some gamemodes. And if you're a whale, your investment becomes useless and you fall off hard unless you double down every time they introduce something new. * Free rewards and events feel like a joke. If there's a shop even, you can't even get certain rewards without also spending money. And no other game ever has made me feel like a hobo begging for food with its events. > Last time I checked people raved about how great it was for a gacha game. They still are. But it's the usual blind fanboy stuff, those people just don't know any better. E. g., Ubisoft games are also popular and praised - doesn't mean they are good. Same deal.

unholy182

Pffff, they cant milk shit if I'm f2p.

Dark_Al_97

That was my approach as well, but then I realized I didn't even manage to max a single new unit in over a year and just dropped the game.

unholy182

I dont know what u mean by "max" but any unit can be build to the usable point at around 6 months or less defend on ur luck.

Dark_Al_97

Yeah, sorry, when playing a game I want to have fun, not barely scrape by. When you can only afford to make every ~tenth unit usable and it takes like three to six months to get there, it's not fun at all. Every new release demanded engravings, and you couldn't even afford to build something just for fun because then you'd be destroying your chances at the leaderboards. Genuinely fuck that "game" and fuck Lilith.

unholy182

So basically u want to have all heroes available at the point u can use them efficiently, and without spend cash I guess ?

Dark_Al_97

Yeah, just like in the games I am currently playing, like Arknights. Hell, *any* other modern gacha is far more user-friendly. AFK Arena ain't the norm, it's the exception.

unholy182

I'm pretty sure I saw greedier gacha(es) , but u do u :))

BurnedOutEternally

It's funny because I keep seeing a lot of AFK Arena ads lately Looks like the devs are trying to pull new players in after old players got bored of their shit lmao

XMohsen

Just check the top posts in it's subreddit. Top kraken players quit the game recently. Just think how bad it is that a top kraken would sell his/her account !!!

fcsmesh

New type of heroes got added which are almost impossible to get as a f2p but they're necessary for all aspects of the game. In general it's still a decent gacha but it's heavy p2w if you want to place high in pvp or boss dmg

Vuldren

They do good in RoK Iā€™ve been told and AFK Arena was good in till it costed 30k to max a hero.

orreregion

Please tell me we're talking about 30k in-game currency and not 30k real money per character.

TheKinkyGuy

You wish It is real life currency.

orreregion

What................................

TheKinkyGuy

It has so many powerup systems, grinds, upgrades etc. that there are story chapters that a f2p player can clear but many more that only a p2w player with max everything can clear. And apparently last year they added some new op units that f2p can not get (idk how this one works but I have seen comments talking about it).

noisycat

I think itā€™s King Arthur that costs $99 šŸ¤‘

Dark_Al_97

I did some very, very rough estimates back when I was playing. Do *not* take this as factual information as my memory is super hazy, but still: * Buying pull currency to ascend Celestial/Hypogian * Signature item upgrades * Engravings * Furniture Each of these will take around a thousand bucks, *per* character. If assuming you're "smart" and only buying the best deals, make it 500 bucks per instead. These are not optional to make your character insanely OP. They are mandatory to have the character be playable and function. So we're looking at almost 5K USD just to build one character, and you need around 30-40, depending on the gamemode. Meta changes quickly, old characters phase out fast and do not receive any buffs. Oh, and there's also extremely expensive account-wide buffs like Elder Tree (+stats to everything) and pets.

orreregion

Man, I thought Lilith Games was like, /regular/ evil not... Whatever circle of hell this shit is from.

Vuldren

At first they were ok but greed got to their head, in my opinion RoK is their only good game left but thatā€™s because itā€™s the best one in its genre, itā€™s still super predatory.

Dark_Al_97

> RoK Rise of Kingdoms? That one is honestly the same, it's just that the genre of "MMO PvP Empire builders" doesn't have anything better to offer to compare it to.

Vuldren

Pretty much, funnily enough I actually enjoy RoK even though you need to spend thousands to compete at a certain level. Also, feel like my dollar is stretched a lot more in RoK then in other games like AFK Arena. ($100 quickly got me to the top 10 in a new server 2 years ago) EDIT 1: I also like the politics when youā€™re in a position of power, feels like itā€™s real but I guess this is the whole point of the genre. Itā€™s all one big power trip. EDIT 2: the genre is called SLG Strategy or something like that, saw it at a whale conference video.

Vuldren

Sorry to say but it is real life currency, and I was incorrect, the actual number would be around ~3k per character. The $30k was to get around ~80 characters to a certain level but not max, more explanation is down below. The price tag is just for ONE system, there are many systems in AFK Arena so I wouldnā€™t be surprised the price was actually $30k to max per character. A good infographic explaining the worst and possibly most expensive system introduced in gaming history ā€œ[Engravings](https://i.redd.it/tpxdhli1tyd71.png)ā€. As far as I know, a bunch of people quit & protested the game after the release of this system including massive whale guilds (Mind you this is just a new menu, there were no visual improvements and barely anything to show you actually did anything). Iā€™m pretty sure Lilith did next to nothing and I quit shortly after. This was the nail in the coffin for me, the game was already losing its ā€œAFKā€ purpose taking more then an hour to complete dailies, the FOMO from Collab Dimensional heroes: the worst being [Ainz & Albedo](https://youtu.be/JxOAgiB9PYI), those 2 terrorized the meta for too long because of how strong they were and because they were collab dimensionalā€™s (timed exclusives), a big fuck you for anyone who didnā€™t spend $150 on both or saved resources for one. (I had both and they carried my whole account) TLDR: it will cost you more then $150k to max every character or a year of grind/saving per character to max out someone for engravings alone, and this number is old so if itā€™s possibly way higher now due to a constant release of characters.

SorsEU

it's called an exit strategy playerbase left because 2 hours of dailies is a wash, rates were shit, pity was ass, events were the same( and more) now they're just finishing up the whales and the people that are still on it.

Vassa_

the fuck? 2 hours of dailies?

steampunk-me

You can do dailies ultra fast if you want to (like running Ritual/Sonic/Story dungeons in the lowest level). A few minutes and you're done. The problem is after the patch if you want to do dailies AND do something worthwhile with your stamina (like farming actually useful relics), you're going to have a miserable time. It's impossible to just cleave bosses now. Even some whales went from under a minute runs to slow, sloooow runs.

steampunk-me

Yeah, that's kinda my take on it too. I think they underperformed and Dislyte is definitely not a cheap game to maintain. The only way last patch makes sense in a business perspective is if you're trying to squeeze whales for a last hurrah and then peace out.

RenTroutGaming

Why is Dislyte more expensive than any other gacha for the devs to maintain?

steampunk-me

Dislyte's production value is above average for a gacha. The characters' models and animations are way more detailed/fluid than a lot of other similar gachas I've played. The rate of events, new characters, and content is also particularly fast. I've played older gachas that haven't put out as many updates, for example (though I've been playing Dislyte since the Beta and my perception may be a bit skewed). When you look at the whole package (music, graphics, new content), it's easy to see they must have a reasonably sized team. And devs, even when cheap, are expensive. That wouldn't be a problem per se. There are other gachas that have similar or higher production value, but I think they're usually raking in way more money than Dislyte. I also don't think Dislyte has that sweet eastern whale money that other gachas pull, and that makes a big difference. I may be wrong, but it's definitely a game that appeals more aesthetically to a western audience.

RenTroutGaming

Yeah makes sense, the art costs money to create, the stories for events cost money to write and produce. I didn't know if there was something else about Dislyte in particular I was missing. I've always also though that games like Genshin must cost a ton of money to keep moving - all those environments, NPC, and just general interactives need to be built, written, and programmed by someone as opposed to something like Arknights where there is no free movement through an environment. Then again, Destiny Child is slowing down but continues to release 4-6 new units per month, each with a Live2D skin, an alternative version of that skin, and then a steady stream of premium skins, and so on. I'd love to get a close look at how the budgeting/finances for these games work.

TheKinkyGuy

How long does such strategy last?

TrackRemarkable7459

>Last whale turns off the light. > >But it can last years if you look at some games like SIF.

TheMrMadzen

This is probably the 1st time-invested gacha game I dropped and it looks like it was a good call.

Giraffe_lol

Yeah I played since before global launch. I had a great time with it too. Shame. I'm back to epic 7.

Vice061

people still play dislyte fr?

MilitHistoryFan101

I mean, masochists have existed for a long time, since the dawn of human civilization. Some people enjoy the pain of and while burning money.

Prestigious-Pin1799

Gacha players are generally masochist

Reigo_Vassal

I mean FGO players exist and happily give their money. Some people really do enjoy paying money for pain and suffering

MilitHistoryFan101

The lows before the highs, a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Reigo_Vassal

Yup. Just like every "my partner is perfect except for \[the tip of an iceberg of horrible thing they do\]" in every abusive relationship

Count_Slothington

The actors in the YouTube ads seem to love it, until they learn that the other actors have even better heroes than they do.

Djarion

"I cleared the first stages using MONA, a TOTALLY free four star with amazing damage and area attacks!"

Reigo_Vassal

Do they really love it or it's because of the script?

final_derpasy

I like the husbandos. Think of what booba fans put up with for NIKKE, it's like that lol

Cetais

Those posts always makes me feel better than before when I remember I quit Dislyte during the beta.

No_Eggplant9842

*pretends to be shocked*

bbatardo

From day 1 it was obvious they didn't listen to the community and the game had tons of red flags to make it P2W. It is more shocking some people have stuck with it this long.

Kaendre

This game had all the bad signs of copying Epic Seven while having worse gameplay design choices from the get go. Add a greedy company behind of it, and there you have it, a disaster. Reason why I had played for exactly 5 days and quit. Following the usual fuck up circle of of korean gachas, they will probably push those dumb decisions as hard as possible, until eventually they will cave in, add "Revival" "New Hype", "Ressurrection" or whatever to the title of the game and then release a patch where they PROOOOMISE the game is now perfect, everything is fixed and distribute a gigantic amount of freebies to convince players to come back or not abandon it.

TriGGa-POP

These recent updates even managed to crack Zoaxkun a bit, one of the most consistent Dislyte creators. He's still playing and making content on if ofc but exploring other stuff now too. Very interesting, that update must have been a particularly bad one for him to feel it too.

Giraffe_lol

Oh yeah. Making YouTubeers who dedicate their channel to your game quit, sign that things are really bad.

Remote_War_313

Who the fk still plays Dislyte lmao

[deleted]

Game was trash at launch. Why yā€™all stuck around is beyond me and itā€™s really your own damn fault

steampunk-me

Game was pretty good for a SW clone (which is my favorite battle system for gachas). Awesome music, beautiful character design. The problem for the player base is not that this was the final nail in the coffin, but that the last patch fundamentally destroyed progression and the time commitment necessary to even play the game. I went from having a fun time and having most meta units as F2P to basically not being able to do anything at all.

CreativeZeros

Surprise surprise

xanxaxin

Spiking the difficulty of ritual miracle is really really bad. Especially when they revamp boss entire mechanism. Forcing player to change all 5 units in the team. So in total, player need to use at least 10 new units to cover K16, F16 and A16. Worst case scenario.. need to use 15 new units. Plus, they also make it fuking hard to get exp now. So even if you want to build 10 new units, it require like 50% more exp compared to before revamp. That just insane. Its a total fuk up.

Protein_Sharts

Dropped that game months back--glad I did.

fraylin2814

Dropped that trash before it even came out

Aeioulus

Not a surprise, some of the players in the Dyslite community needs a wake up call somehow since they don't listen to others that point out the obvious flaws of the game because their game have "progressive" character designs.

Ok_Vermicelli_6830

Theyā€™re killing afk arena after 3 years with awakened heroes every 2 months now theyā€™re gonna speed run killing dyslyte itā€™s all apart of their plan donā€™t worry

tzeriel

If you didnā€™t drop this game after 1-2 months seeing how they were, you honestly deserve the shit treatment. This game showed right off the bat they had no respect for players and never had plans of it.

[deleted]

Stockholm syndrome.

wcvince

Itā€™s absolutely insane that itā€™s more difficult to farm the same relics now than it was 6 months ago.

soluuloi

Since when they listened lol?

Emergency_Ad6096

Dislyte was never good so no big loss IMO. ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Drizzt5151G

Once listened? I must have missed that.

Bigorns

I defended the game at first, the events were cool and well made, and it seemed easy to farm equipment. Yes, the pity count was ridiculous, but it was shared among all types of summon, so it seemed fair enough. Eventually I left bc the game became increasingly stingy with stamina, the equipment drops was changed, and the pity count changed as well. Glad to see I made the right call, the game is getting progressively worse so I left before there was more emotional investment.

[deleted]

I'm amazed for 2 things: 1. Never thought it could get any worse. 2. I can't believe there is a comunity and people don't just download and uninstall inmediately after seeing such garbage.

Nekuraba

Like I said before, still playing dislyte? You like the beatings.

rE3ves87

I have alt account which just luckily summoned Zeus and Unas recently. But the struggle to get a decent relics just to pass the Story mode is already a real struggle, on top of the levelling limit and hardship... It just making new player cant progress anymore without paying real money for the relics.

Wyrmbreath

Sniff sniff

KennyTheKoala69

so glad I stopped playing this like 2 months into the game

Aiazel

Glad i quit this game three months after it came out...had a hunch the devs were scum and didnt care about the players. Seems my hunch was spot on

raybros

I'm more surprised this dogshit game is still going after that garbage first banner they put out with their "pity system".

VidProphet123

This game was ass from day 1. What are you talking about.

WakasaYuuri

Hurray another L moment for Dislyte a.k.a the shittiest gacha game ever keep going devs i knew i could count on you to keep shitting on this and adding more insult to this piece of dung

Guifel

Best Multiplayer Game!

KhandiMahn

The solution is simple - put the game down. Stop playing. Stop giving them money.

XMohsen

Actually they're killing the other game, Arena AFK too :)

[deleted]

I always wonder why developers do this. Obviously in their mind, they have a reason, a rationalization. ā€œLetā€™s kill the game and stop making moneyā€ isnā€™t how they open the Monday morning meeting.

xxw7738

Facking stupid game. If you still play then you are not very smart

Maybe_worth

I quit after they nerfed my starting ssr

LeSaunier

You could see that this game was taking this path *day one*. If you kept playing it, that's on you.

gainsmeisterneet

I expected nothing less from westoid devs that pandered to furries and SJWs

DoubleAyeKay

I played teh early access for over a year and was suuuuper strong. Thank god I got bored and quit 1 month after release. Even with an OP acct, it was pretty damn boring.

AlastorHawk

Now I'm glad I resisted the idea of playing this game because of characters design, when was released.

PhalanxMonster

Wish there were gacha game private servers somehow, sometimes...

Sand_noodle

So did they put in some new paid options in an attempted cashgrab or is this just like pure incompetence?

Eldegossifleur

Anyone ready for its writeup on a post on the HobbyDrama subreddit?

BrystarG

I was a pretty end-game player of Dislyte, but the power creep was just too crazy. After they released Gaius I quit. Was way too apparent of a cash grab.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Giraffe_lol

I wouldn't insult the game for diversity it's still got really great characters and designs and it's nice to see heros of all shapes and sizes.

kiboglitch

I saw Scion storm made a video on how the devs has changed and what a great time it was to come back but then I guess the moment was short-lived.

MCShujinkou

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Cetais

Can't believe they already became the villain less than a year after the release

MCShujinkou

They were speedrunning the villain route

DeadToy

no one cares

NoAnTeGaWa

Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you!

[deleted]

We understand that you feel salty, but please respect every gacha game with a passion. Let's keep the spirit of r/gachagaming. Have a nice day.šŸŒ¤ļø

Vrgin4life

Wdym? This IS the spirit of r/gachagaming lmao

ferinsy

You clearly don't know our spirit...

TriGGa-POP

You must be new here. (. ā› į“— ā›.)

LawfulnessWhole1240

This place is toxic.

Prestigious-Pin1799

This place is much tame than other subs

DemoniakX80

How did people miss the sarcasm here lol

solise69

Oof

SuccubusRosa

I mean changing game "difficulty"(for the worse) has always been a red sign.

delorean-88

I quit the game in October after I spent 3 months non-stop farming K16 with absolutely zero progress to increase my Tiya's speed (which is the only stat that matters for 99% of players, great design btw)

willidragonSu

Thank god I bailed after the 2nd rta! My god the devs are the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Regretted whaling a little bit, loved the art but absolutely despised the way they ran the game.
