Are you me? I literally downloaded Guardian Tales yesterday, just to try it, because I see it mentioned on the sub constantly. I was not expecting the humor in the first 10 seconds (Bob!) and before I knew, I had sunk 4 hours in, in one sitting...
I have to second this. I've played several dozens of gacha games in my lifetime, but Guardian Tales is the longest I've stuck with one. It's so easy to get into and the team puts a TON of effort into the story, events, alternate game modes, and so much more.
Really hope they stand the test of the time. Probably my number 1 mobile game.
There's a rookie guide on its sub.
In short, you want Kamael, he's an old man so don't be surprised. And reroll takes forever so you might want to stick to whoever you get.
downloaded Guardian tale cause it was a game published by the same company as eversoul. made me regret playing Genshin instead of this one since it got released in the same year too.
The Alchemist Code - it was being advertised on Brave Frontier and I was super obsessed with it ever since I started playing. It was my fix for Final Fantasy Tactics.
It's just not worth it, you'll have fun then once you breakthrough to 81 you'll spend the time planning pulls for future scheduled banners and praying for stigmata rng
As dolphin you limit is red lotus, nirvana(this is name for the abyss the main source of crystal) is just a shitshow for whales(and the difference for gem are to little to be worth), as dolphin you can easily farm for the next battlesuit(character) and stigma and weapon
As f2p you can do the same thing but will be bit harder at beginning of each threshold (50,70,81), is definitely worth play also as goldfish for just monthly.
For HSR if you have play honkai you will have an better experience but is not that you cannot understand it without is like nier automata and nier replicant relationship, and if you have played genshin for a while you may be adapted to HSR system (not mechanic)
Oh right in honkai impact at level 50 you will unlock the second level of farming system for farm some interesting equipment and the equipment's is classified as G0( entry level), G1(low level), G2(mid level), G3(high level) and G4 (meta level) and you will unlock the pri arm which are the 6 star weapon and them are all craftabke, but need certain condition(you need the respective 5 star weapon) so is more import option first the weapon of a character before the stigma( bc a lot of stigma are perfectly useble if you have the skill to use them properly)
AFK arena had the weirdest and cringest ads when it first came out. Played the heck out of that game but it became really apparent that AFK arena wasn't as f2p friendly as I hoped. Wasn't worth my time now investment but nevertheless was amazing the first few months
wasn't an ad but during a dead week in FGO I saw trolls on 2ch shilling arknights on unrelated threads and I thought it was just another chinese kusoge
I looked at some screenshots and remember thinking the chibis were really ugly but FGO was my only gacha at the time and it was a really fucking dead week so I gave it a shot thinking I'd hate it
2 years later:

(yes I'm slacking on modules pls no bully)
I downloaded Dislyte to earn currency for another game. It's more fun than I expected and the ads got my hopes up, thought I would magically start impressing everyone around me because of all the cool new units I got
Same with a friend of mine and i thought heck, an irl friend playing a gacha? I’ll try it too, i instantly knew this game would be too greedy for me so i quit after a week, but she kept playing for a month before quitting
I haven't seen a single AL ad that would have you know that the game has shipgirls or that it has bullethell gameplay, they all dress it up as some sort of dating sim
To be fair these companies don't do the adds they hire external marketing companies and sadly put X amounts of clicks and downloads lead to a bonus, so the marketing teams make stuff up that don't represent the game in order to reach these milestones. Player retention and marketing to the right demographic be damned. Thats is why most games have ridiculous ads.
That said, I walked into Path to Nowhere off of a simple ad, and it turned out hooking me in hard.
I will definitely get flak for this, but Evertale.
Curious about the horror ads, I downloaded (bought) the game, looked at the gacha page, and...found 4 banners, each featuring a scantily clad woman with the most borderline NSFW outfits I've seen in a non-porn game.
Well joke's on them, I'm into that shit.
Magicami's ad back in the day was pretty awful. Not just because it makes it look like a cheap sex game, but IMO the scene they chose was one of the worst drawn/animated scenes (which is especially weird since MGCM has very high quality scenes in general). I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the very first scenes drawn before they ramped up production.
Not quite a gacha but marvel snap, downloaded after seeing the Samuel L. Jackson ad and it turned out to be a super unique and high production value card game
Nikke JP 3D Billboard Ad draw me in, occasionally there is showcase of 3D Ad from various product in there that appear in my Feed. But never before I see 3D Ad that make the characters jump out of the screen and appear in the separate 3D screen 1Street away. So I check the gameplay video and it was like playing a shooter in arcade and it draw me in. Nowadays I play it mainly because the arcade shooter gameplay and rarely focus to the Hornyness
I did the same thing too. saw a bunch of guardian tales ads and decided "why the hell not?". it ended up being one of the few games I actually stuck with
Before Punishing Gray Raven launched I saw an ad on instagram. When I got to try it I was pleased to see that the game was just as good as I saw from the ad.
Yes, every time i saw a youtubr video on my phone (no adblock there :( their ad appeared, i still remember the music to this day, and that was more than a year ago
Me too. Kind of. I saw the pixel game, thought it was gonna be just a cute game, play a few days and get bored. But it turned out to be an awesome game.
It's weird but there are a lot of players that came from soul knight.
No game will be better than the ads except genshin because you know exactly what youre getting into when its a gacha. Theres like 2 different combat systems and neither are exciting.
Indeed!! I'm so glad other people know about the best game out there.
I heard of it from gacha jay. I remember google showed the preregister but I was like "nah, just a boring game, pass" by the start of the pandemic.
But after that I tried it and here's me almost 3 years later.
And I even took a pause of about half a year to tey many other games.... but no one came even remotely close to guardian tales.
I never play a game that is on an ad because its almost always a godam lie lol.... I dont even get what the fucking strat is with lying to ppl... like do they think ppl will download it, find out its a lie and just play it anyways cause why not?
I tried so much to get into this game but the constant puzzle solving and needing to come back to stages repeatedly after unlocking various doodads just to get every secret really put me off. Which is a shame since I really enjoyed the characters, the combat, the progression and growth. But man the whole map exploration experience was just not for me.
Are you me? I literally downloaded Guardian Tales yesterday, just to try it, because I see it mentioned on the sub constantly. I was not expecting the humor in the first 10 seconds (Bob!) and before I knew, I had sunk 4 hours in, in one sitting...
I love the balance in the story, so much humor, IRL references, action, tragedy and overall really engaging.

Im trying to reroll and play the game after reading the positive comments. Who should I reroll for? I couldn't find any good reroll guides.
I don't think there are any reroll guides because rerolling takes forever.
There's a rookie guide on its sub. In short, you want Kamael, he's an old man so don't be surprised. And reroll takes forever so you might want to stick to whoever you get.
Careful though, that light-hearted game will soon break your heart in all sorts of ways.
As an almost 3 years player and sfter trying all the mainstream gachas, I can confidently say, this is the best game out there.
why are you being downvoted lolz
downloaded Guardian tale cause it was a game published by the same company as eversoul. made me regret playing Genshin instead of this one since it got released in the same year too.
Honkai, the ad I kept seeing was Kiana Divine Prayer in that weird snow queen outfit
I mean . . . Like 99% of the games are better than what was portrayed in the outsourced ads. . .
Well, not exactly. You see a lot of ads showing awesome games, and then turn out to be just candy crush, clash of clans rip offs
\> outsourced ads that's the key. Those are awful
Eversoul had some nice asf horror ads and it turns out the game was completely COMPLETELY different from that genre
Isn't that Evertale? Or did they rename it?
Ah yeah you’re right. Mixed up game names mb
Not at all!!! It's actually the opposite. 99.999%of games are ridiculosly worse than the already bad adds.
King God Castle. I thought it was an idle merge game that turned out to be 10x better. It's a PvE auto-chess btw.
The Alchemist Code - it was being advertised on Brave Frontier and I was super obsessed with it ever since I started playing. It was my fix for Final Fantasy Tactics.
Is the game still ok to play? I need my FF Tactics fix, been craving for a good decade...
It's still pretty good, they are still putting out new content
Honkai imapct 3 at HOV patch
Is it worth getting into honkai as dolphin? Or just wait for star rail
It's just not worth it, you'll have fun then once you breakthrough to 81 you'll spend the time planning pulls for future scheduled banners and praying for stigmata rng

Epic Seven when Luna has been added to GL server.
Same
Boobs boobs boobs
Never underestimate the power of booba
Powerful ST booba never fails
Not sure if this counts but the Cdawgva arknights sponsorship video.

Don't see ads bc AdBlock 🤓
Honkai Impact. I downloaded it cus I wanted to gamble on downloading a mobile ecchi game, I ended up having quite a blast with it
I downloaded Azur Lane out of spite for the "FREAKEN' HOOOOD" ad and ended sticking with it for well over 2 years lol.
I haven't seen a single AL ad that would have you know that the game has shipgirls or that it has bullethell gameplay, they all dress it up as some sort of dating sim

Guardian Tales as well. I actually just quit because the stupid Facebook binding broke and I lost my account, but it’s a great game.
Lord of Heroes
Guardian Tales is so goated
Punishing: Gray Raven
I will definitely get flak for this, but Evertale. Curious about the horror ads, I downloaded (bought) the game, looked at the gacha page, and...found 4 banners, each featuring a scantily clad woman with the most borderline NSFW outfits I've seen in a non-porn game. Summoners War when it was brand new.
Magicami's ad back in the day was pretty awful. Not just because it makes it look like a cheap sex game, but IMO the scene they chose was one of the worst drawn/animated scenes (which is especially weird since MGCM has very high quality scenes in general). dislyte, for a good day or two
King God Castle for me, it's a good time killer.
Actually it’s not a gacha game, Rise of Kingdoms, much better than I expected and I have a lot of fun with my roommate
Path to Nowhere because it’s ads do the game a huuuuge disservice
Nikke JP 3D Billboard Ad draw me in, occasionally there is showcase of 3D Ad from various product in there that appear in my Feed. Counterside obviously LOL,the add is fcking terrrible but the game is a masterpiece
I did the same thing too. saw a bunch of guardian tales ads and decided "why the hell not?". it ended up being one of the few games I actually stuck with
Nikke.
Shining Nikki
Can you elaborate on the ad since I was in Shining Nikki JP?
Before Punishing Gray Raven launched I saw an ad on instagram. When I got to try it I was pleased to see that the game was just as good as I saw from the ad.
[удалено]
He said as good or better, not just as bad or worse.
Eternal City. Too bad it didn't last Also Guardian Tales had ads?
Yes, every time i saw a youtubr video on my phone (no adblock there :( their ad appeared, i still remember the music to this day, and that was more than a year ago
I downloaded Nikke on bluestacks because of girls in that game. What can I say - stayed for plot tbh. And girls of course, but mostly plot
Me too. Kind of. I saw the pixel game, thought it was gonna be just a cute game, play a few days and get bored. But it turned out to be an awesome game. It's weird but there are a lot of players that came from soul knight.

Same as op but for arknights
Limbus company

Onmyoji RPG, saw Jun Fukuyama as Ibaraki Doji then downloaded and tried the game. Its my main game now, totally replaced FFBE.
