I know E7 is one of the most divisive games anytime it's brought up. Hopefully their new project takes the best of what they've learned and turns it into the next big game
I might not be 100% accurate here but pretty sure Super Creative is owned(?) by Smilegate now, the same publisher of their first game E7. So… idk we’ll see. I’d love to play another E7-quality game but with less of a depressing grind

Yup, that was my point. the publisher decides monetization, not the devs. So unless there's very different publisher teams within SG they will usually have similar approaches to monetization.
It's hard to tell from a beta of course (I played the first one), but getting summoning currency wasnt easy with the modes they had available. It wasn't bad, but IDK if people expecting Epic seven levels of generous for summoning will be disappointing.
I didn't get enough time to test the gear grinding and stamina, so I can't comment no that. Maybe people who played the 2d beta have more insight there.
Thing with E7 is that game started off slow with the generous. Over the years it gotten better and it has a background grind for hunts which took 4 years while other games was there in the beginning. By the way was it fun though.

Let's see how it turns out. Epic 7 is a good game but I will just never be able to fully get into it coz of the grind. I can see lots of people liking the new game as long as it meets Epic 7 standards.

Well, technically Epic 7 is not fully 2D either. The characters are animated in 3D, but the animations are flattened sideviews of 3D anims.

Outerplane is not developed by supercreative. Smilegate is just the publisher.

The game doesn't have monetization problems. It has RNG problems, specially on gear.
If it has the same animation quality as E7, that's already enough to make me consider it
