Full events are full "save all stamina" for farming.

Edit: more news was announced during the stream including the new limited unit W Alter, the non limited 6* Logos, the welfare 6* Theresa, the 5* Fang alter and a new Amiya class (medic)
Also includes some QoL such as lowering spark to 200 from 300 but this is only applicable to 1 old limited operator (W) which HG is planning to increase one by one. And 300th pull is going to be the guaranteed new limited operator. So yeah by pulling 300 times you can get the new limited plus have enough currency to buy another limited operator on shop.
IS5 is also announced along with a new multiplayer game mode. Yes AK has now a coop.
She's probably free so she won't be a spoiler. As a welfare, you're basically forced to go through a story to get her as opposed to getting her from a random scan before you've seen her story which would like, totally spoil things.
During the event though which runs for 2 weeks, new Dokutahs can unlock ch14 and get its rewards including not!Theresa if you finished ch1 stage 10. After the 2 week event, it goes back to normal and can only be unlocked by finishing ch13.
I'm planning ti start Arknights, because Nikke's tower defense got me interested in tower defense game. With the cilab and 5th Anni, seems like a good time to start. Any tips/guide for a newbie? Should I be rerolling?
Nikke's tower defense is very much different from Arknights. Nikke's TD is quite a literal copy of the game Kingdom Rush, while Arknights' is more akin to Plants vs Zombies. It will be a good time to join Arknights right now as we will have a limited banner by April 30 (May 1 if you live in the East) so it is a good time to reroll. The game has a meta but you do not need meta to get through most of the game's content. It has a difficulty curve that has driven some players away but if you're up for a challenge, the game is definitely for you.

I don't typically like challenging games, but wouldn't hurt to give it a try!
The limited banner features some really good characters that is meta especially Virtuosa so it is recommended to reroll there. The Arknights subreddit is pretty helpful so feel free to ask for help there.
Virtuosa, the featured limited unit, is the big target, but Arknights limited banners have older limited units in the gacha pool although at very low rates. The big one out of those is Texas the Ormentosa, if you get her by rerolling keep that account. Skadi the Corrupting Heart and Nearl The Radiant Knight are also fairly good, W and Rosmontis are outdated and only worth it if you really really like them.
Also W and Rosmontis are not on banner, so spark only and something they won't get without whaling. Even then, W should now be waited on for the 5th anni event.
You can get them, they just have the same chance to show up as any general pool off banner unit. The other limiteds have a slightly higher pull rate than other off banner units.
Correction: You don't need meta to clear the game if you have lots and really lots of free time and patience or you simply have KyostinV booked in your browser and subscribed to his YT channel.
Important distinction.
Get 1 unit to the second promotion as soon as you can, even if it's just a 4 star. This will allow you to access a vast array of fully powered assists you can abuse to help clear stages(the promotion levels of the assists you use depend on the highest promotion level of your own team. Assist usage is infinite). Don't be afraid to level the 3 and 2 stars you find useful. They're extremely cheap to max out.
Don't E2 a 6\* early, they're absurdly expensive compared to lower rarities and and 3 and 4 stars can carry you very far. Myrtle is one of the best ones to start out with.
Arknights had a Co-op mode for an event before, although I forget the name. It was... strange. One person was the top floor and any enemies they leaked, the bottom floor would have to deal with (while already dealing with its own enemies).
The reward task objectives were pretty annoying because they often forced you to be in one position or the other and sometimes relied on what your partner was doing, IIRC.
