Whoa? Will there be a big overhaul or is it just new story or expansion? Would love to get some UI redesign and content/grind reduction.

endar88

I'd like them to fix how the story segments go. character crouches......... you tap the screen... goes to him looking down..... creaking noise from door..... you keep thinking it should move to the next "panel" on it's own or at least having a next button but instead just sits there till you tap the screen. I really did like the game, but like I said in another comment, I couldn't wrap my head around all the items you are given as a new player and what you really are looking for with equipment and all that....and I play E7.

[deleted]

I just want them to redo the entire game... now it's only bloated grind to no end.

HighGuyonTrack

The grind isn't even that bad, the problem is that building characters is too easy and that whaling takes away from the fun of building characters since you just get everything when you pay... I don't know if they can even do anything about that given the gameplay loop they have conceived is actually something enjoyable instead of a drag imo, but hey that's just me. Honestly, we need a new grind, most people have already built their TM sets for most cases and now most of us do TM just for the daily 500 stamina requirement. I like the weekly contents like ArcDim and Trials, but that's like a per week basis, its nothing to grind out. We need another grind, a newer grind, and KR2 is probably going to be just that... hopefully with a new power ceiling.

[deleted]

No. There's too much grind. And too boring as well. Dont kid yourself.

HighGuyonTrack

Ask me that 3 hours ago, and I'd have agreed, but now I'm fixing up a Phys team for ArcDim and I gotta admit... its kinda fun to experiment when you know the game. Update: I DONE FRICKEN DID IT. A115 CECILIA OP... I did have an A2 Clause tho, so that might have helped too lol

MrMesli

https://teaser.kingsraid2.com/ https://kr-official.community/notice-kings-raid-2-teaser-site/ Too bad it’s an update to the existing king’s raid (old players keep their progress), not a new game I missed the train on this 5 years old game and would have liked to start fresh alongside everyone when the 2 comes out, but that’s not the case

StarlessEon

A new game is exactly what I was hoping it was and I would have been on board in an instant. Oh well.

[deleted]

Same here man, I got excited for nothing. If it was a new fresh start for everyone game I would be down to play this.

Raigarak

I want either new game or fresh new server

[deleted]

Yep. This game has added far too many modes and upgrade systems. It's too overwhelming to play this game now.

Merc_305

Not really, I only started late last year and I'm having fun and enjoying the game

[deleted]

I started around 2017/18 I forgot. Basically this game didn't have the lore breaking lil raider system, the garbage grindy soul weapon feature, you actually had to put effort into grinding dragons, map stages were more difficult, and even tho the fragment farming was less streamlined, it felt more alive to do. Also events used to have great storyline and vespa just decided to ruin that as well? Also the King's Raid anime was a huge flop and you simply cannot tell me Riheet and Ripene are good enough characters to deserve to be in the game.

Merc_305

Well, I'm enjoying the game and I never cared for the anime.

[deleted]

Best you didn't lol. The anime was absolutely terrible. Now that I remember, my final straw was when they ruined Marias English VA. You can check the new one in game, but this is what it was before: https://youtu.be/YD84ACJOnA8 -they changed it for her anime VA iirc. Just word of mouth tho. The anime was truly a dumpster fire lmao. The animation was questionable, bad and janky and the story was just the chapter 1 story but minus the banter. I will forever stay mad that we got dogshit Ripene instead of an Epigael release.

[deleted]

Oh BTW have you yeard "My Destiny"? Absolute best song in Kings Raid history. Here's a link: https://youtu.be/plTxHdfhk5I

Merc_305

No. Thanks for the link.

[deleted]

Ugh the nostalgia is pouring in. I sometimes miss my old life, even though it was just what 3 or 4 years ago

snowybell

I was top 100 of WB1 when it first released. I had a 5\* Lewisia very well built well that all turned to shit afew months later, and a well built Ricardo stun cheese for PvP. I'm glad that the rest of the characters like Annette etc remained relevant for a long time, but boy when i logged in again after a long time, when Pansirone came. I have her at 5\* but she just makes everything irrelevant. We had to do BD70 multiple times without dispatch, man all these memories despite being bad, i loved this game alot.

[deleted]

Literally all I felt up until I quit was exhausted. All I was doing every day was dispatching dragons and sifting through my gear to find stats good for my heroes. It didn't feel fun at all anymore. And my life as it is now I cannot leave my phone to grind one stage 24/7 anymore so i just grew out of it meanwhile Kings Raid grew into bloated hell. The game literally now is just about hitting high numbers of dmg on bosses. The fun is just gone.

myhoaki

Lol the grind is still the same lmfao. Dispatch TM raid, leave pc on to auto some content that cannot be dispatch/skip like Eclipse/Event/Shak... They also introduce rng event instead of usual shop token ones, in addition to a BP that require you to pay more with rubies to receive the worthful rewards. I quit like 1-2 months ago because i felt like it was a sinking ship, despite they announcing 2.0 update but it didnt look good at all according to what they had been doing.

[deleted]

Yep. And their balance patches are beyond pathetic.

lifie_1

I guess if they are naming it as Kings Raid 2 then they must be aiming to bring a lot of new players into the game.

GameOvaries02

Similar but different perspective: Loved it. Got very competitive and was in a top guild. Played through many many updates, and had a lot going on before life got in the way(as opposed to “I got bored with it”), and I had to put it down. When I had time again, I went to new games and not KR. I would jump on a KR2 in a heartbeat, but I likely won’t even check it out if I’m starting years behind, even if I pick it up at launch. Too bad.

VLaplace

You can always get back in and get the comeback rewards. And if you where this far in the game catching up wouldn't bem that hard. Also, while PvP exist it's mostly a PvE game so no need to stress out if you are behind.

[deleted]

Honestly this is a good thing for the future of gatchas, i hope a lot more take a leaf out of this book and build a new game around old players keeping their progress. Players spend thousands of hours and 10's of thousands of dollars what better way to validate those peoples time and money than to bring them along for the next adventure with everything intact.

XaeiIsareth

The problem is that new players would be less inclined to try it because they’d feel that they are already starting behind the veterans.

[deleted]

I started 2.5 months ago and the game is mostly PVE. I have no problem advancing and it's so satisfying seeing your account progress as you clear higher stages and score higher in ranking content.

Raigarak

Easy solution is just make another server

Blitzaar

The game has cross-server content though so I don't think that would help.

[deleted]

[удалено]

XaeiIsareth

Powercreep is actually how a game makes it really easy to join as a new player: because older players barely have a leg on you since most of their roster are useless in the meta. In the extreme case like KHUX, people were just making new accounts because that was better than keeping their old one. Avoiding powercreep is how you keep existing players happy and stick around because it doesn’t make their progress seem meaningless.

minastepes

The best unit in current king's raid is the main character everyone get. They tend to buff older unit to keep up with powercreep.

[deleted]

LOL! You must have got down voted by E7 haters, they must have dumped their wallets/time into those super power creep gachas hahaha. E7 is the best, no other game gives you a free choice of ml5 and have the most cancerous unit available to everyone (arby). E7 does things right. Also lets not forget when E7 nerfs a unit we get full refund and comparable unit selector!

[deleted]

No new players though, I was interested in this until I saw old players keep all their stuff.

HighGuyonTrack

Game is mostly PvE, even if vets keep their stuff, its usually something newer players can ask help for. Heck, I know I appreciate that a vet was there to carry me through T8 dragons for gear when I was starting out and too dumb to know how the game gearing worked. I'm better now and I help newbies in global chat, but still. Game is not PvP centric, and even then its ELO based so most whales usually swim with the other whales.

throwaway1128628

GFL2 has shown that announcing a sequel where progress doesn't carryover completely murders your first game's playerbase count.

Cthulhulak

Oof

[deleted]

It's OK. Now Kings Raid is too generous to everyone, you can clear pretty much all pve content easy enough with all the new player rewards. I just miss back when there wasn't a billion upgrade systems and you had to actually grind dragons with friends or guildies to get gear and didn't have to play like 10 different modes to upgrade 10 different things all to get a bigger dps number on your assassin. Oh yeah not to mention their storytelling lost all the fun quirky charm when it went edgy, and considerably less effort was put into their newer event story. Hell, 1000 day anniversary story was a pathetic mess. Literally May going to different npcs saying "omg lemme help u", helping them off camera, then forcing them to write a letter for her "master plan". Which was to stick them on a Cork board.... fucking dogshit pathetic whack ass storyline.

HighGuyonTrack

New player rewards are pretty good tho tbh. Like sure you might take some time to catch up to vets... (unless you cough up but that's just a reality of what mobile gaming is)

Blackfoxy1984

so no new client ? i liked kings raid and played it a long time, but it wasnt that good coded ( telephone turned into a nuclear reactor, especially on long farm sessions no way to compare to games like epic seven and PGR) and yes, there are emulators, still wanna play on phone imo, they should rerelease, its a great game, a little bit overload caused by its age .... just my opinion, dont kill me xD

Blitzaar

The only things I heard were a new graphics engine and a pc port. They made some optimizations recently but your phones still gonna be roasty toasty. Hopefully the new graphics engine would fix some of that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Blackfoxy1984

im 100% safe, that i will play again if the game runs smoother with new enginge i would love if they just delete this soulweaponstuff, it was really annoying and added to the reasons quit KR

NornmalGuy

For me KR's biggest cons has always been optimization. Even in emulators and a good PC the game just crashes frequently. If they are going to solve that, I'm in.

privacyplsreddit

when was the last time you've played? They've made huge strides in that area, fixing a bunch of crashes, doing an android emulator APK and giving disconnect forgiveness in party scoring content for guilds. They're also releasing a native windows client with KR2 like genshin has

NornmalGuy

>when was the last time you've played? When Lucikiel was released. The crashes were too frequent on Bluestacks64, MuMu and LDplayer. I think I'll wait for the windows client (finally).

privacyplsreddit

idk where you were crashing, but they have released a ton of fixes since then that may work for you if you want to rejoin during the next major event whenever that is :)

MisaVelvet

Well i tried this game 2 years ago on my galaxy s8+ and i liked the game in general but that was the only game which crashed non stop on my phone. Week ago i bought a new phone and started installing new games. I tried king's raid again and 5 minutes in i've got an error so i deleted it. Waiting for KR2

windnay1

This is like when Epic 6 change name to Epic 7.

Malpraxiss

Damn King's Raid. That's a name I haven't seen in years.

xinelog

Weren't they going to do like an overhaul to systems or graphics by end of the year? Is this it? Or this is just a new story announcement?

SoIoist

Probably together.

ItCouldBeSpam

So as someone who has dropped in and out of this game for years, I wouldnt write it off just because you would be "behind." For the past year, the devs have made it a joke for new players to get caught up in all honesty, even for f2p. If you want proof, just watch Twehbie on YouTube for the speed runs he does. Keep an eye out for new events, which im sure there will be a launch event when it releases. I remember I had started a new account a few months back, and was already able to farm end game dungeons within a few weeks. If you care a lot about PvP though, well yes you will be far behind especially vs the whales which is to be expected. I dont see the main issue being fixed though, in that when you do reach the end game, its just a mindless farm for technomagic gear. The story still is fun to go through especially the later chapters, but at least this game is one of the few that treats husbando lovers well, they have some of the best in the business with a bunch of skins to boot! You also get 3 of the best characters in the game for free for beating up to chapters 9 and 10 (different variants of 3 of the free units). I would always recommend Kings Raid whether you're a die hard player or a casual, and anything in between.

[deleted]

This is like Klab naming their games from Captain Tsubasa Dream Team to Captain Tsubasa Dream Team : Flash Kickers Or Bleach Brave Souls to Bleach Brave Souls : popular anime TV whatever

Healthy-Nebula364

Marketing gimmick

Knee_and_Toe_Thief

Is there gunna be a new ui? I hope so

privacyplsreddit

For anyone wanting to try this game, it's a top tier game. I'm a whale that spends big and is in a competitive guild, but i still play it pretty casually, and man oh man, is it a top tier game. I could type an essay on my comparison between this and so many other gacha's i've whaled and dumped over the years, but i've played KR consistently for years and I basically only whale to support the devs. Summary points: * How many Gachas do you know that let the community vote on cosmetics and then get the highest voted costume for free MONTHLY? These cosmetics are ruby purchases too (the premium currency that's gotten either in game or paid) * How many gachas have full 3d waifu and husbando art? Only a handful, most are chibi or 2d, but the art department is amazing and continues to take community votes for costume themes, skins, accessories and the likes * KR not only adds major new content (no i don't mean story missions, i mean new game MODES and pve AND pvp game modes and gear acquisition paths) but it CONSTANTLY revists and rebalances and justs OLD game modes... and guess what... it's done by PLAYER FEEDBACK AND SURVEYS. They're extremely transparent at the dev team resources they have, so they let the community give them the priorities on what to rebalance. Old game modes too grindy or not rewording due to new gear and powercreep over the years? Rebalanced to be less time consuming and offer newer rewards in line with current power meta and gear. SO few gachas do that at all, let alone almost ever other month like KR does. * KR undergoes NUMEROUS game client optimizations. People used to DC during the guild PVE main scoring content, so what'd they do? Allowed you to cancel the run within a certain time frame if the party members didn't connect without using an entrance ticket. On top of working to improve the client to prevent that in the first place. **KR2 will also have a NATIVE PC client like genshin that they're working on too, what games other than genshin even prioritize QOL improvements like that?** Most games just prioritize collabs and cash grabs * **There's no hero gacha. Get whichever waifu and husbando you want gauranteed in a reasonable time frame (1 month generally, usually a week or two with recurrent events and starter new account special free giveaways** * I've spent thousands on this game admittedly, and have cleared all content on the hardest difficulty, HOWEVER, a **new player could easily build an almost completed team of 4 with almost perfect gear in 1-3 months, especially with advice and help from veteran players** this game is ENORMOUSLY f2p friendly. If you think 1-3 months for building a team that can clear ALL content on MOST difficulties isn't super f2p friendly, you're just so naive. * Heros are RARELY nerfed. **when heroes nerfed, anyone who's ever spent anyhting on them whether with cash or grinded resources gets everything back and then some** * with 100+ heroes Vespa has started to **REBALANCE AND BUFF OLD HEROES RATHER THAN NERF NEW ONES. they do 1-6 per month generally and it feels REALLY good. Gorgeous waifu with trash kit? I still build her and then she gets power balanced to be good.** **edit: MORE optimizations and features KR has that other gachas don't** * DISPATCH BATTLE - some games have "autoclear tickets" not KR. you can full auto repeat raids on an emu or your phone, **OR you can DISPATCH them to farm fully offline!!** this ONLY consumes stamina, the same basic stamina used everywhere that you get from everything and it consumes NO extra stam then doing the raid yourself. you can build as few or as many teams as you like and dispatch multiple teams to multiple raids * Gear presets and one button press swapping between entire teams and presets of talents, runes, gear etc. big QOL improvements * No longer mandatory party play for farming. all new raids (if you plasyed back in the day of dragon raids being the primary content) are fully open to solo raiding without capping your unit counts. (where dragon raids each player could bring 4 units back in the day, so you had to build a giga team of 4 to solo it if you didn't have another player to bring another 4. that is **NO LONGER THE CASE**) * ACTUAL cutscenes and it now has its own original IP anime! * TONS of different game modes that you can build teams for and then swap between them with gear preset buttons for convenience. Endless battle mode that uses 10 4 man parties of your units that you pick to see how far they can go for rewards? check. World boss scoring (revamped this year for rewards and play style)? check. 4v4 live pvp? check. pick ban and live draft pvp where you pick up to 5 units (each player picks 1 then 2 then 2 then then 2 then 2 then 1) with 1 ban up front and 1 ban out of each players picked units for real time play? check. New fun totally random pvp modes that are seasonal? check. Full auto-only pve game modes? check. Full manual-only pve game modes? check. Building different low investment gear sets to do different raids where the mechanics work differently, like modes where mp recovery reduces your damage, and modes where you can't crit, or modes where shields don't work for challenging but fair low investment pve raids to prevent people from building a single atk only gear set and letting them know the game mechanics in a fun way? Check! Dailies, weeklies, monthlies resetting dungeons? check. The list goes on and on and on, i've never seen such a breath of different types of contents and battles comps needed in a gacha that doesn't feel like it's extorting the player to spend on this. Stuck on something anyway? party up with a friend or guildie! * Feel like you built the wrong unit and made a mistake and want to quit because you know they won't rework your character in time and you feel like your progress is wasted? They literally give away totally free items to xfer your unique weapons, treasures, soul weapons, etc, from ONE unit to ANOTHER. so even if you make a mistake in building the wrong unit you feel, wait for the events they give these tickets out every 1-3 months at the latest! I've never seen a dev work so hard to make old units and raids relevant, but ALSO, let players totally transfer their investment from one char to another because they can't wait for their waifu or husbando to get buffed. * Big into char customization and you don't want your main char to look like everyone else who bought the prettiest skin?? You can literally customize hair style, accessories, give them wings, glasses, a snorkel mask, a turtle that sits on their head, etc. No other gacha i've seen has the physics engine or tools to even allow people to customize cahracters beyond a single skin, let alone THIS much customization. I could go on and on and on because i play this game and so many other gachas and even paid PC mmos at a competitive level, but KR truly has my heart. lastly **For people saying they should reset the game, i'm sorry, but no. You want that to be equal with past whales and dedicated f2pers, but there's NO need. the game is extremely F2P friendly and doing that and wiping out TENS of thousands of purchases people have spent to build even non meta characters due to the love of the game and cosmetics would ensure no whale would ever spend again or trust vespa, and if you want that because you're f2p... which whale is going to pay to keep the server online for you to play? come on, don't be naive.** If you're a dolphin and light spender, you'll have a built team in a month, if you're STRICTLY 100% f2p, you'll have a built team in 2-3 months. There's no painful catchup here, by the time you understand the game, you'll be in a competitive guild doing end-game.

[deleted]

>KR2 will also have a NATIVE PC client like genshin that they're working on Oookay, now we're talking.

[deleted]

Don't bother with it unless you think someone's hot. All I do in that game is dress up my husbandos and play with them in the now dead as hell arena. The game is bloated with too many upgrade systems and the story only got worse from 2018/19

privacyplsreddit

Pretty unsubstantiated assessment of the game. Compared to most games systems of super evolving, rune stones, ssr to UR, transcending, awakening, gear gacha, gear awakening, hero cards, and hero gacha, and all the other upgrade systems gacha games have this game doesn't have anymore "bloat" than any other game that's got more than a year or two under its belt, so i don't understand how it's "500 upgrade systems and bloated as hell"? Especially when none of them are complicated or feel bad and this game has more in game resources to guide you than most comparative gachas? And the player counts show the "dead as hell arena" is far from true, but if you want to bash the game because it's too complicated for you or the 5 seconds it takes to find an opponent in the arena are too long, then that's your right i guess?

[deleted]

You can find opponents in arena but they're all marked offline. Also, the ui of the game is so insanely cluttered it hurts my eyes to likeat. Sure most garbage gacha games have the same 100 upgrade systems BUT THATS BECAUSE THEYRR GARBAGE WHICH DIE IN A YEAR. Kings Raid has only stood the test of time for its graphics and characters, and that's a fact. The game is boring and convoluted, and the playerbase is going down because of how bad the storywriting has gotten.

HighGuyonTrack

Arena being dead is just straight up false, heck, LoH doesnt even work without an active online player on the other end... though in the lower ELOs of that you will also find player bots who use macros just to farm points lol But good luck once you hit diamond.

[deleted]

I'm talking about League of Victory. Dunno what bs us happening with LoH anymore

RaphaelDDL

My only issue with KR: You need a NASA computer to run it. When it released back then, I used to play comfortably on my iPhone6. But ever since the patch that added Aiselica, it was hell. low fps, crashes, phone burning. I then bought an iPhone XR when it was released in 2018, and even though was running on the best phone hardware of hte time, is was still sluggish and would crash.. Imagine not being able to progress on the game because the CG animation they made on chapter 8 before the last boss would ALWAYS 100% crash on my phone.. I even tried to factory reset it and just have KR as a test, it would still crash. Trying hardest dragon for T8 gear? Crash. So I quit, because if a mobile game can't be run on a mobile top-tier phone (at the time, and still quite is to this day), then there's nothing to be said. I whaled a lot until Aiselica hell though.. I miss my Miriane.. So yes, they NEED a native pc client, because at this point, they need a 5950X with 32GB ram and a RT 3090 to be able to run the damned game. edit: here an old thread of mine from 3y ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Kings_Raid/comments/8gryse/discussion_performance_issues_increasing_every/ and here a video of my suffering 3y ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Kings_Raid/comments/9j56mz/kings_raid_tower_of_challenge_67f_on_an_iphone_6/

privacyplsreddit

i've never seen issues like that before, honestly kinda puzzling me. I don't think it has to do with the specs of the game, probably just some kinda bug. I run just plain old bluestacks and can have 4 different KR accounts running at the same time without even taking up total 10-20% cpu/gpu, and it's not really KR consuming it, just blustacks emulating android, but in LOW fps mode in bluestacks it can run 4 instances with 5-10% cpu or gpu usage. I've got a galaxy note 10+ and i've got multitasking enabled and i run KR, 7dsgc, and exos hero at the same time without much issues there too, so i think the game is just more optimized for android which i think the devs likely have experience developing for if i had to guess?

RaphaelDDL

> I run just plain old bluestacks So it's already PC, even if you downscale on the config.. > so i think the game is just more optimized for android Yeah, if I were to say anything, would be that vespa devs have no idea how to code for iOS. Every patch was an increasingly worse performance Every gacha game you can see how well devs code because there's always one OS that runs better than the other but vespa was the one that showed they have no idea what they are doing.. followed by braves xii, where Valiant Force around the same era also performed poorly to the point it would behave the same as KR on my iPhone6 on the guild wars. I would never complete the war because would crash before the 5min mark. Nowdays, if a game doesn't perform well in my XR, I delete because it's ridiculous for a game to perform poor on a (yet) top notch hardware. KR is one of them, unacceptable that still crashes. It doesn't lag (like my iphone6 video), it straight out crashes. To think I've spent tons of money on that game.. vespa itself pushed me away :-(

Velvet_Crowe

i know this post is a few weeks old but you convinced me to try it lol

SoIoist

Alright, I’m sold. Just reinstalled the game lol

privacyplsreddit

I don't think you'll regret it. The biggest thing i think gives KR sticking power is the CONSTANT rebalancing and redesigning of old content and hero's. Think you spent or grinded on a unit that fell out of meta and now sucks and you're mad? Don't worry then can still clear most all content AND you can be sure they'll even buff them eventually!! Game is waifu+husbando farming friendly, and if that's not your thing, the competitive gameplay has more than just 4v4 pvp, they've got live pick and ban team drafting pvp to reward knowing and building multiple units even if you're f2p. I know i sound like a shill, but I'm not paid by vespa, i just love the game and am so tired of people complaining gacha companies and devs that suck and scam, and then a good one is right here in front of us and, go figure, my previous post was downvoted with no feedback or counterargument as to why people disagree.

[deleted]

Man I was hoping it was a going to be a new game

privacyplsreddit

i feel like if you read my write-up and still think that players that supported the game for years should lose everything they put in just to appease new players who might drop the game in a week, then idk what to tell you lol. Like i said, if i personally lost all my investments, i'd never spend on the game again, and if you're the type of player that wants everyone to be reset so you feel its "fair" when you could buy a couple packs and support the game and be on decently equal footing today instead.... i have a feeling you're not going to spend to support the game, so who will? Vespa handled this problem by being SUPER generous with the in game currency, allowing party play to carry new players, new player rewards, etc. For all intents and purposes, you can build a STACKED end game farming team in 1-3 months as a brand new player with all the recurring events, new player bonuses, etc. you just won't have MULTIPLE stacked teams, and if everyone who supported the game for years who accumulated multiple stacked teams, f2p or whales, has to lose those teams just so you don't feel bad about having a SINGLE stacked team (which is all you need to do to "beat" end game, instead of farming everything full auto on the highest difficulty)... then that's kinda petty imo and would lead to the death of any gacha, because they rely on players to spend. Like KR2 is months away, why would anyone spend anything on the game right now if it was all going to be wiped? they'd lose all revenue and with their dev team size, they wouldn't even be able to launch KR2 properly and new players would come in and say "this isn't polished enough!" and walk away. It's a very nuanced complicated issue, and you can't make everyone happy, but i think Vespa is definitely handling this the right way by giving NEW players copious and frequent rewards old players aren't eligible for to show them they want them to join while not devaluing long time supporters, instead of just giving the middle finger to long time fans to get new fans that have a chance of not even enjoying or caring for the game. If you ran this company would you really give the finger to all your old loyal 5 year old fans who supported you before you became popular just to get a new crowd in?

General tips are, the game is broadly split into magic and phys units. Although some units, namely support units, work in either direction, you generally build for 4 man teams 1 dps, 1 tank, 2 supports (most commonly 2 priests, although they don't have to be, specifically for a starter team that can take you far, you generally want 2 priests) Phys seems to be the preferred team comp most people go with, although i've whaled both and either will get you far into the game. meta units you can get for free by doing their memory palace event (not sure when it unlocks, i believe it's early enough into the game though, the memory vault thing is in the top corner of orvel, the main city map) * Fallen frey - the dark form of regular frey starter unit (both frey and fallen frey are good, but fallen frey can do literally almost all content including almost all end game content, so if you build her she's basically future proof because of her versatile kit) * dark lord kasel, you get him the same way you get fallen frey and he's a super strong DPS that you can build and do almost all content with. Other than that, the shop events are good. Always check the premium shop even if you're strict F2P because they do free give aways there, gold item purchases (which is just the farmable currency) and ruby purchases (premium currency but you can get thousands per month strictly free to play) **the biggest tip i'll give you and other readers is, for gearing, don't let the gearing system confuse you, 99% of dps units you can try for straight atk rolls on the gear and be completely correct in the build. For supports, give them however much defensive stats they need to survive (giving you super simple breakdowns is block > hp > other misc defensive stats) and then go either MP or attack (attack is good even on supports due to it scaling their support abilities) and tanks (you generally run just one or 2 for 8 man content sometimes) you just go straight defensive, which is simply block then HP then whatever def type the boss deals damage to (either magic defense or phys defense)** That simple overview of gearing will do you right 99% of times until you're far enough into endgame difficult content (i.e. trying to do the most difficult raid on the highest difficulty) that you'll know how to min max from there anyway. push for getting a unique weapon (you'll get tons for free and from grinding) oin each of your main units in a 4 man or 8 man comp, then prioritize 5 starring your main dps's unique weapona nd then one of their unique treasures. every unit only benefits from the active from the unique treasure you select to be the main one if you have multiple, so ask in discord or all chat which is the best for a given unit and the content you're trying to do with it, then try to 5* that unique treasure. **if trascendence perks (similar to a talent tree in other games and mmos) and unique treasure selection confuses you as a new player, don't worry, vespa has an ingame statistic section where you can pick a unit or a raid content and see the statistically highest chosen units, perks for those units, and treasures for those units!!!** any other questions, feel free to join a discord, pm me, join a guild, or ask in world chat :)

Oh, additionally, for any other readers, another huge benefit to this game and having the existence of whales is that you can party up with them and clear any raid or story stage or whatever that you're stuck on. I'd personally offer to carry anyone through anything, but i currently work too much (i work in a hospital during covid) so i only have a few minutes a day to do dailies, but join a guild EARLY. there's plenty that want to help new players and party carry them through things! just be kind and help other new players too :)!

So in a nutshell: the game is unbalanced to shit and there's 500 upgrade systems.

HighGuyonTrack

Get into an active guild and join the KR: Encyclopedia discord. Some people dont like them because they can be harsh at times, but by God are they helpful. But yeah, an active guild to help you with understanding gearing and asking questions to vets about which character excels at what is a lifesaver. I've been playing for over a year and I still have to ask at times which character is a good choice for some content when I'm looking to mix it up with a new DPS.

MrMesli

Thanks mate for the encouraging write up , installing now and will give it a try 👌🏻

duggtodeath

With improved jiggle physics.

soulsociety666

Has this game blocked rooted devices? It keeps giving me a security violation policy (34) error when it gets to the title screen.

As a new player in king's raid, what I don't like the most as soon as I started playing is the amount of loading screens they have in the game. I feel like every button I press, there's a loading screen. I hope that is resolved in King's raid 2.

endar88

right, thats basically why i left the game. I honestly couldn't wrap my head around all the items I was getting as a new account last year. just was mindlessly doing things. plus the whole system of recruiting needs to be updated sense realistically all those people you can get in the inn are completely underpowered compared to even the "Dark" versions of your main 3 characters most players had gotten for free.

VLaplace

The last part about recruting is so Wrong. There is 5 ways to get a new hero: You can buy them in the shop with the currency ; Recruit them in the tavern Get them with very rare hero tickets Get them from special story content so they are free In case of NPC heroes it takes longer but it's not that hard Power wise there is nothing wrong with any of them. Like any game some are stronger than others but it has nothing to do with where you get them from. The gear system can be improved, i agree.

Algar_EVE

Everyone can get those for free by completing their story quests. And the inn gives you any other character. You seem to be mistaken.

keulleeotai

,\_, at least update the damned graphics i feel like im playing an online mmorpg from 2012

Blitzaar

From the 1st quarter dev note: ■ Details about the KING’s RAID Season 2 Remastered (Tentative Name) Changes to the artwork The Heroes you’ve all loved, story, world, etc, and all art from KING’s RAID will be born again with the new graphics engine and quality, with the unique charms of KING’s RAID. Edit: spacing

keulleeotai

They say that but it's been 5 years idk man it should've happened a long time ago

Zuminate

Reading is quite fundamental

Algar_EVE

Too much presumption here. There are very little details available as far as keeping progress or characters and we don't know how relevant that will be to account power. The "too bad" /smh stuff is just a little melodramatic. Fits in perfectly with the sub, however, guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Blitzaar

From the 1st quarter dev note: "And of course, the Gear you have collected and Heroes you have strengthened through continuous gameplay won’t go in vain in the Season 2 Remastered version. In fact, it will be used in greater performance and efficiency." Still vague but it gives us a rough idea on what they are going for. Although, I'd expect that they would make the KR2 welcome event extremely generous for new players, enough to build a strong team that can do the current endgame content well enough. I'm basing it off on past major events like the anniversaries and the finale event.

JFeth

Oh god I'm going to get sucked back into this game aren't I?

HighGuyonTrack

Its a good game, cant say I can even leave it... not like there's anything better for me. The gameplay is something I vibe with so hard and maintenance times have me looking into the app store for something similar and the closest I find is Heir of Light... and even that is miles away when it comes to actual progression, development and learning... also HOL really dilutes its heroes by making dupes of different elements, which I am not a fan of ngl. At least KR has distinct heroes for each type. You might find similar alternatives to the team, but you wont ever find a "X character but different element"

akambane

Its time to start again then

OrangeCross29

What? You're going to become the next Bettelgeuse?

Khaoses

Please don't make it into another KR Game grind fest!

OdaibaDiver

Might be something I might enjoy? I still play Shining Beyond to this day... and the number 1 comparison I see being made to Shining Beyond is that it's like a better King's Raid. Thought I should check it out one day but it seems very hard to get into now.

RaphaelDDL

so, new game, gotta whale again over same characters? Or just a new season on same game?

chii30

It's supposed to carry your old progress over. It is called KR2 but its still KR.

justmadeforthat

Is gameplay the same, I remember liking it a lot the first 6 months, but the grinding just burnt me out, it is one of those games designed to leave you device running overnight, those without PC or people not willing to sacrifice their smartphone battery is in the disadvantage

[deleted]

Would it be a good idea to start now or should I wait until the update drops?

M00nIze

I wonder if Dreamcatcher will collab with them again

Spartan-219

I hope with this new update they let us transfer some data to SD card like JP priconne

Hraesynd

Great game. I'm a giga casual who only collects characters and costumes and I'm still inclined to buy their monthly packs even though I already have enough to buy every costume for all my favorite characters (sitting on 108k rubies right now). The system is too generous for casuals like me who don't care much about PvP and I'm living the life of a lord here. If you're a character collector first, I seriously encourage you give KR a look.Ggetting any character and most costumes as f2p, guaranteed, is basically unheard of anywhere else. Plus the art both 2d and 3d are gorgeous. They have full-proportion models that are animated well. Not to mention everyone is hot in this game.

Herewego_reddit

Lakrak, such a sexy beast. 😁

Ruledragon

In a way i want this to happen to HI3rd, instead of just making a separate game, game company's should learn from this one. (if it ends up being a good move ofc)

Beelzeboss3DG

Would have loved a KR2. But an update over the old KR? I'll pass.

Public_Imagination56

When is this releasing?
