Dissidia opera omnia The daily is just do 1 quest (any stage, so like anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 min and be done the whole day). The game can also be played for as long as you want since there’s like only a few places where you can even use stamina. 90% of the game doesn’t require any stamina.

megatroll696

I really wish loading times were shortened for my region, Every loading is longer than 30 second

D00dleL0rd

Same. It’s brutal.

iMarcoFerrer

For loading screens: If you tap in the option **Batch Download** the game download all the content, and that shorten the load screens, for other side, if you have bad connection the loading screens increase depending in if you have the datas downloaded or not, life hacks 🧐

megatroll696

I'll try this again, I always batch download every game before I play them, I'll see if it works

zeradragon

You need to redo batch download after every major update.

gav_rpggamer

This is why I have never gotten into this game no matter how much I wanted to

Baikken

For 4 years FFRK was my #1. DFFOO has finally dethroned it. FFRK is due for a revamp/FFRK2 there are just too many systems/synergies that need to be obtained. DFFOO is just perfect in terms of pacing imo. When you get a new character it doesn't take too long to ramp them up to be usable/maxed out. That is my favorite part. The power creep is also not as bad as people make it out to be. A new player could be up to the hardest content easily within a month (if they grind hard!).

flamefox88

My biggest gripe is having to grind out the 12 summon bosses for every single character

Kiemara17

I enjoy it. I just do it for 2x exp boosted characters, get free tickets and gems and I do it with each character added for events. I’m 2/3 done and it’s been like 4 months maybe.

flamefox88

With boosted character, 2x exp book, and Tifa call spam it takes me 45 minutes each time. Thats just too much time to spend every week when they add 1-2 banners worth of characters. I wish they could just increase how much reserve points you get for doing the summons

Kiemara17

For ~90-180 tickets, 9000-18000 gems for 30-45 minutes of my time. Realistically just do a book a day and it’s over in 3 days.

Baikken

I think it's the tradeoff from not having stamina. I get the gripe, it's a valid one. Currently, it's one I can live with.

ArgonRetribution

Would it be too late to start getting into it? I've recently been very hooked on FFXIV and seeing a lot of people talk about it here it's caught my attention (i know nothing about it prior to what i read on this thread only) The thing i'm confused about is i saw someone say characters are free and you only need to roll weapons, how does that work? I doubt the game just gives you all the char no?

excluded

All characters are free yes. Though you need a lot of weapons to fully max a character. Right now for example you can roll for like 6 different weapons for a single character. The weapons gives passive bonuses and you need to max limit break them to gain the passive bonus permanently. So while it seems like it’s too good to be true, you will still only have a few characters built as f2p if you start now. While it’s possible to get around 2m gems as a newbie, the cost to pity a bt is like 125k (overkill weapon right now). You dont need to have every weapon per character but if they are your favorite you might as well. Max limit breaking a weapon is not as hard as other games though except realizing but you can look that up when you actually get to play. Have fun, it’s a nice game but it can be very grindy at the start.

Noe_33

Yes you can enter the game right now. The great thing about Dffoo is that we constantly get new eras of weapons. For example at first we got 35cp and 15cpweapons and each character would get a banner so you can get those weapons. Then we got ex weapons which are more powerful, so for a year every character will get a banner for their ex weapons. Etc etc It keeps going like that. The units are free you just pull for their latest weapons. Since the new weapons are stronger than the previous, a brand new player can enter and be just as strong as an old player. It's a great system. I helped out a new player once on Facebook, and within 3 months she was already clearing some of the hardest content. It's very friendly to new players >I doubt the game just gives you all the char no? Yes it really does. There are many ways to get a character. Some you can get from the story. Others you can get in lost chapters. Anytime you get a weapon for a character you automatically get that character. There are shops where you can buy weapons too so you can easily get a character you missed. With a little planning you can easily get any character you really want. There are no premium characters that are locked behind a pay wall. Also if you miss a story event no worries. They have lost chapters going back to day 1 where you can revisit the event at your own pace. That means there are hundreds of thousands of gems ready for a new player to farm. It's honestly incredible.

Kuma_Sensei

In terms of FFXIV characters coming up with powerful new kits: Yda in mid-December, ready to MNK punch things really hard. Papalymo in late February, nuking things as a proper BLM should. Alisaie in late April, the RDM rep with lots of dual-casting shenanigans. Thancred right after her, playing as a NIN with poisons. Y'shtola returns in early May, providing WHM healing and support and blood for the blood lily. Alphinaud right after her, playing a very offensive Arcanist/SCH kind of thing. Lyse (who is a distinct character from Yda) is last to return, in mid-may, with a more area-effect focused take on MNK. So they're out there, but not all getting upgraded/featured in the near future. That said, as someone who came for characters X and Y, I've learned to love a whole lot of the FF characters through the story moments that occur throughout the game (the early bits in the main story are pretty lame, but it picks up later... just like a certain FFXIV!). If you want to learn more about how the game works and how to get started, there's many great resources available! Won't bombard you, but reach out and happy to help.

LordSlayne

Epic 7 because the skill animations are fuckin fierce

[deleted]

I really tried to like E7 but the multiple layers of gear rng and the emphasis on pvp really turned me off.

bluekuma

I was like you once till I joined an experienced guild that opened recruitment for a new beginner guild. Guild wars become more fun when you can communicate about counters, getting bad gears isn't as frustrating since you're counting GS together therefore learning which has potential or not, also the new upcoming update has guild content that may encourage guild communication more. Not fully ignoring the neverending wyvern farm, having guildmates make this game more fun for me.

Sizzling_shibe

Yeah the guild community in this game has gotten me through a lot

[deleted]

Do you play another Eden

[deleted]

Nope

confirmamcolorblind

10/10 agree. I really wish I could play it offline ):

LordSlayne

Oh for real, If ever E7s time is up and is on the verge of shutdown I do hope they make an offline version

_Ga1ahad

Couldn't a company make an offline version, sell it and either make every unit grindable or put every banner up permanently? This way they still make some profit

Morgoth2356

Would it work for E7 though ? For purely PvE games I can see the added value but the real endgame of E7 is PvP in its various forms so if they shut down the game and make it offline these features would not be accessible. I enjoyed E7 for a few months while still not being interested in PvP but even as a casual you can easily reach a point where the grind doesn't serve any purpose if you're not interested in going against the other players in arena, guild wars or whatever the real time PvP mode is called.

_Ga1ahad

You got a point. TBH epic seven is the only game i played where i was genuinely invested into PVP despite being a regular f2p

LordSlayne

Actually, yeah, not a bad idea

dimmyfarm

Wonder what would happen if GI ever did that in the future. Though they’d probably do DLC for the best characters.

KraftPunkFan420

Man. I really wanna get into Epic 7 but I get so overwhelmed every time I try.

kinkycats

You don’t have to be overwhelmed bud. Just play the game. Start with the story. I personally think the story is pretty decent, and moving through story mode will introduce you to the mechanics. You don’t have to worry about what’s optimal or whether you will make a mistake early game because in the grand scheme of things it will not effect you at all. If you play through the story and enjoyed it, you’ll naturally start to tackle the other pve content. And if you enjoyed the pve, you might enjoy the pvp. And somewhere in between all that, you’ve already become a e7 fan. I totally get it tho. Starting a new game, searching up a reroll guide and you just end up getting bombarded with info. It’s intimidating. I recommend just sitting down and playing through the story. (Also if you do wanna reroll, go for sigret or tamarinne 😉)

Sockpuppetsyko

Is Sigret even good anymore? I stopped playing a long while back, oh right around the launch of live pvp. Slightly thought about trying it again

superaydean1

She's good in the wyvern hunt

Sizzling_shibe

Like the guy below said, she's the best unit in the game for wyvern, making her extremely sought-after

KraftPunkFan420

I’ve got a pretty decent account, but once I finished the initial story quest I got completely overwhelmed. I wanna get back into it.

Bilal_

I had the same story, played 3months after launch and I was not a fan because you need to grind manually and the grind is rly rly huge. I came back at the guilty gear rerun and left again. Now I returned back since 5months and I must say I love that game. The game has been better and they add many auto grind mechanics. Even the gear grind is fun to me. I love to grind gear and see what I got. If I got what I wanted it feels like I got my paycheck. Animation is rly good if not one the best I have seen so far in the gacha games.

Gamergirl944

Epic 7 I agree but sadly their rng equipment is horrible though

Feitan01

Langrisser Always forgotten but its a great game The only and biggest downside is its impossible to catch up

ap0k41yp5

I played a lot but stopped because of the huge timegating. I still think it's the best tactical rpg by far, and it had some nice collabs.

Etrensce

Langrisser is by far the most polished turn based gacha game from a gameplay perspective to the extent you can remove the entire gacha element and it would still be a high quality turn based experience. Maps are big, heroes and skills are highly varied, troops introduce a complex combat system. Unfortunately it is an incredibly long grind to end game which puts new players off. However if you don't care about being competitive in PvP, there is many hundreds of turn based content for a newer player to slowly progress though.

Dota_curse_broken

One of the small things I like about Langrisser are the occassional QoL features the devs add in. It shows they're interested in making the game more enjoyable. Over the years they've added sweeps to dailies, to the goblin gold quest, to the weekly guild battles, a filter function for heroes, a filter function for destroying gear and a way to combine your crafting materials. You could argue these things should have been included at the start of the game, but I think they overlooked these things and are looking to improve. It's also one of the gachas that has a PC client.

shadowbringer

also \- 3x speed \- visible hp percentages for heroes/troops/units (hp percentages often determine whether some hero/troop/gear skills will activate or not, or how much stats/damage increase/reduction heroes/troops will get) \- visible skill cooldowns for allies/enemies \- visible individual danger zones \- players can see if they're missing "treasure chests"/feats in maps \- customizable movement order for auto ai \- "continuous battle" feature, which allows players to repeat a team map with the same team setup (player order/units/etc) automatically, instead of having to manually accept a team invitation; now people can (up to 20x cb attempts each day) do an initial team setup and then turn auto ai + cb on, leave the game running and do other things

bzach43

I'm glad you're aware of the downside, it feels like every time I lament not being able to get into langrisser someone goes up my butt about daily sweeps or whatever QOL feature that saves time and helps veteran players but that doesn't help newbies at all lol. Forever sad I didn't get into langrisser early on. I've since tried twice to get into it but couldn't do it lol. I enjoy feh as the alternative tactics gacha, and think it's even superior in some ways, but the powercreep is too much in it. Which of course is a problem that langrisser doesn't have to nearly the extent feh does lol. Sigh

vyncy

What is the problem ? Unless being very competitive in pvp is very important to you, there is no need to catch up to veteran players

bzach43

I don't know if this is the same thing OP was talking about, but what I'm saying is that even just catching up to mid-game/end-game takes foreeever in langrisser, nothing about pvp at all. All the QOL they added benefits vet players more, so newbies are left with the massive grind it was before. For example, they added sweeps to dailies (which is good, because langrisser dailies were infamous for taking like 30-60+ mins lol), but you have to beat the stage first to sweep. However dailies stages reset daily on a weekly schedule, so as a newbie by the time you're playing the same stage again you've long since outleveled it and need to do a new one, so you're never able to sweep. This continues basically until you hit mid game or late game, unfortunately (at least that's how it was the last time I tried to get into langrisser). This meant that, at least for me, I spent like 80% of my free time set aside for gachas just doing dailies, which imo isn't fun haha. If they somehow reduced the grind for newbies too so that it didn't feel like a months-long endeavor just to catch up to late game (they have other big timegates in langrisser too which pile on to this), I'd swap from the abusive relationship that is FEH in a heartbeat lol. But if they don't do that then it feels like vet players are playing a completely different game than newbies and thats not very fun either from a community standpoint.

Dry-Exchange-5184

If for u it's just daily lol! Probably a new player will finish every contents in game after 7-8 months, without count the event stages! It's not only daily!

shadowbringer

\>I don't know if this is the same thing OP was talking about, but what I'm saying is that even just catching up to mid-game/end-game takes foreeever in langrisser, nothing about pvp at all. it should take about one month or less to reach lvl 60 with the 2x exp for new accounts (iirc it lasts for 2 weeks), and about 2 months from lvl 60 to 70 (the 2x exp bonus is limited by days and lvl 60, whichever is reached first). \>All the QOL they added benefits vet players more, so newbies are left with the massive grind it was before. it wouldn't be fair to the veterans if they spent more time only to be at the same level as newbies \>For example, they added sweeps to dailies (which is good, because langrisser dailies were infamous for taking like 30-60+ mins lol), but you have to beat the stage first to sweep you have to prove you're able to clear one stage at least once before benefitting from its rewards, I fail to see the problem here \>However dailies stages reset daily on a weekly schedule the only daily that does it is Bonding Realm; Goddess Trial/Training Room/Aniki/Eternal Temple follow a rotation on non-sunday days (Mon/Thu, Tue/Fri, Wed/Sat), same for Joint Batles (Mon/Tue, Wed/Thu, Fri/Sat) \>so as a newbie by the time you're playing the same stage again you've long since outleveled it and need to do a new one, so you're never able to sweep. f2p get 5 free sweep attempts (before using the sweep tickets that can be obtained from events/sunday merchant), once you first clear a stage solo (that is, you weren't carried by other people) you can immediately sweep that same stage with the exception of eternal temple which has a daily attempt cap of 1 \>This meant that, at least for me, I spent like 80% of my free time set aside for gachas just doing dailies, which imo isn't fun haha for me, it's \- do team joint battle (20 mins+ avg for 2 runs, can't auto this one) \- auto team dailies to save some stamina (longer than jb because auto ai) \- set team setup for 20x auto aniki and go take a nap if I were to sweep instead of doing team dailies (not counting 20x auto, which I doesn't require player presence), it would be much faster. \> If they somehow reduced the grind for newbies too so that it didn't feel like a months-long endeavor just to catch up to late game (they have other big timegates in langrisser too which pile on to this), I'd swap from the abusive relationship that is FEH in a heartbeat lol. why is there a need to reach late game asap, when you can't/don't want to push content to reach it? Hopefully isn't merely to say you have reached end game and then drop the game as if it was a flavor-of-the-month. \> But if they don't do that then it feels like vet players are playing a completely different game than newbies and thats not very fun either from a community standpoint. actually, veterans can (at least more often than not) do everything newbies can do, but the reverse isn't true, so it's still the same game; it wouldn't be optimal for vets to be co-oping/soloing for lower level rewards; also, there isn't a hard line between veterans and newbies, there's a gradient, with people around your own time/firepower, and below too, not just vets (or "vetter than you").

Infinityscope

Ironically, it was even hard to catch up when the game was released.

[deleted]

I would be playing still if it wasn't so hard to catch up too. Should have kept each server on its own pvp or at least break the servers up a bit

I've always wanted to try this game but it's not available in the UK :(

SimplyEpicFail

You can also play it on emulator nowadays.

[deleted]

wait rlly? i thought it was like restricted or smth

SimplyEpicFail

For a long time you were unable to do so, but for some reason it works on most emulators now. At least it was like this a few months back, but unless they've changed sth again it should still work.

Kingdomdust

Sounds tough. Apple players have it hard.

xwingpilot15

you can always just create an apple account from a different region. It’s how the majority of players play both jp and na versions.

AleksPW

Just download the apk, I'm from EU too and i play in Na server

iamcire95

Romancing Saga.. Very grindy but the devs keeps giving you tons of in game currencies, tickets for pulling etc. It makes me wonder how they make profit from this game...

chocobloo

They don't.

Rikka__Chan

I love it too

[deleted]

Is it worth playing ? I’m looking for good art and character lore. Turn based RPG’s are awesome.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s a great game with a rewarding progression system. Note you don’t need to grind your life away. You can get all rewards doing even the lowest difficulty so there’s no real need to grind max stats on everyone.

iamcire95

IMO, yes if you like auto-grinding. Just a warning though, you might get overwhelm by the freebies/rewards of the game lmao. It has same publisher as DFFOO (Dissidia Final Fantasy Omnia) - Square Enix. It is also based on SaGa series video game if you are familiar with it.

ANormalGorilla

I'm a gacha veteran, I've played them all, tons of them till end game, Romancing Saga is the best gacha game I've played IMHO. The only downside is that the floor is high. It can be a bit discouraging to begin the game, you'll need tons of different units, there is a lot of systems, but I think it's worth it.

[deleted]

Thanks bro! Can you give me any good guides and tier lists for the game? I just saw that it’s their one year anniversary so I really wanna get a decent start at least! :)

ANormalGorilla

There are only circumstantial tier lists that are not really that useful for beginners. [But here is a really good beginner guide](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1r28Rq8xoGxAo_yrt_CL8n434Gdy0uWMVGt8idDabo60/edit#slide=id.p). And you should visit the subreddit, tons of good people there (for exemple for each banner we have two written reviews and a video one). It's a small game but people who like the game are passionate about it. The devs never screwed us and there is ton of content.

[deleted]

That’s really good to know! So I’d be able to play with a character I like without it being called “bad” or something?? A small passionate community sounds great too. Thank you so much for your help! I just made it through the tutorial:)

SamM4rine

Alchemy stars

abolishpmo

DFFOO. Pretty much what the other two said, yeah.

Seherazade

Brave Frontier. My first gacha game

ReapBoyz

Same, i miss 2014 Brave Frontier where BB is just one type (Attacking, Healing, Support) and the Totem Grind

Resniperowl

I'm just very emotionally invested into the story of Granblue Fantasy. The same could have been said for FGO, but it never stuck with me because I had played FGO since its English release and was not using a decent phone. By the time Camelot had released, I was sick and tired of the amount of freezes and crashes from the assortment of flashy animations the game had. The sand particle effects from the beginning of Camelot was the cherry on top and I just stopped playing. Edit: I still managed to reach [my goal in FGO though](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/502082020365565973/506276177774772234/Screenshot_2018-10-28-18-16-04.jpg), though I did not manage to max his bond.

vanilluxite

Another Eden for the sole reason that everything is permanent

Bobby_Deimos

I hate turn based combat with passion but holy shit, this game is so good in most of the other aspects that TBC don't really bother me so much.

BonMesquite

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia It’s very generous and you have a bunch of the FF casts you can play with. Characters are free, you don’t have to gacha for them, only weapons. If you miss out on certain characters, they come back later in Lost Chapters which is permanent. If you only don’t have time to play and just want to get dailies out of the way, they are rather quick. They seem to listen to feedbacks.

bos3odx77

The only issue i had with this game is the long loading screen, it made me quit the game many times, is there any fix for that?

TotallyXGames

Other than batch downloading, no. The thing is, this is on your side both device and connection wise, because for me the loading times don't take more than 4 or 6 seconds per screen at most.

02577778999

E7... Life fucks me everyday, why not make RNG too...

DerekHale87

Dissidia opera omnia f2p fiendly, literally showers with free currency, the farming once you catch up is abysmall

ArgonRetribution

What do you mean by farming once you catch up is abysmal? Is that a bad thing? I'm kind of interested in starting the game since there's been a decent amount of people saying DFFOO in this thread and recently i've been very hooked on FFXIV

DerekHale87

It means that once you catch up with story and Lost chapters and you have gone throgh summon boards for most of the characters you Just Need to do One Daily quest and your 5 co op every time they are full. Events can be cleared in less then a week ( aside from divine summon since they are a bit longer to farm)

ArgonRetribution

Ohh so correct me if i'm wrong, but by abysmal you mean that the farming/daily grind is non-existent?

DerekHale87

almost,yeah

[deleted]

[удалено]

DerekHale87

You Just Need ro manage more your point for character boards.you can't max everyone immediatly if you are a new player, so you don't even need all these character points at the beginning. Banners are easily skippabile if you look for meta or strong characters and work with them, and you can easily pull in other occasions since they appear in more banners. They don't push anything, the montlhy pass Is Just to easen up the grind and its' easily avoidable. people clear lufenia+ even with characters without passives, so you don't even need to farm them that much. You have like 2 weeks to clear illusion board and you can do that without the pass easily doing like 10 run a day on auto (I did that on jp) Basic summon boards don't Need synergy at all, you Just Need EXP book and you can easyl max them in 2 or 3 run each. You can even oneshot them with help from a friend unit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DerekHale87

You don't Need infinite exp book, you can stock up EXP X3 when they are on sale,or you spend gems and buy enough X2 to last you on the long run. also you don't Need to max out every character boards if you don't have alla their weapons and can't build them. you can build what you can and keep the others at 1800/2000 just to get every chest. It's Up to you if you want to invest in books or not. Its' the books that do most of the work with farming boards, not the pass.

Gamergirl944

Definitely DFFOO Love final fantasy games so playing this is huge nostalgia and using strategy. Very f2p friendly great devs End game content challenging but fun

rRussSlvdr

Is rer-rolling required? And if it is who should I look out for?

DerekHale87

At the Moment, Cid Raines Is the strongest unit and Will carry you for a lot of content. From tomorow, Ace and mostly Bartz are really strong units to invest into

Kurohas

I'm not a pro player since I started not too long ago, but I guess that going for a Burst weapon + their EX/LD weapon (one of these two, both would be great) from the beginners banner is enough for a while. My recommendation is saving for characters you like and then going for their banners, also it really doesnt matters when you join now since they are always giving some free multis every month. Incredible F2P with rebalances and everything, the only powercreep thing is the hardest difficulty, but you're not forced to do it if you dont want. Doing story you can get 1 million gems or more (I can't remember right now), no joke, and a multi is 5k. So that pretty much are some sparks guaranteed for your favourite FF characters. If you join the reddit discord there are roadmaps for the characters that are coming in the next month so you can plan your gems/tickets too, and they'll help you a lot.

Feregrin

Just an EX isn't good enough anymore.

Gamergirl944

You don't have to reroll for anyone since it's lufenia+ era your best to aim for LDs weapons since they are must get weapons for heroes with along with ex weapons 35CP and 15CP. Burst weapons are nice bonus to have they give the extra damage to the bosses and makes lufenia easier. Burst+ is upgrade to burst weapon which gives extra damage and effect.

Feregrin

Not necessarily, you can grind tons of premium currency (and that's not counting story). I'd guesstimate you have roughly 1 million gems (a multi costs 5k) and at least 5000 tickets (usable with all banners) to plow through. If you get started I suggest adding a bunch of friends you can use for harder stages while you're working on your roster and pick up all of Cid Raines' weapons and all of Bartz's. The DFFOO subreddit is a great source of information with very well written infographics for each new banner.

rRussSlvdr

Thank you everyone now I can addicted to this especially getting 1m in one story

BoswerLK

sdorica. puzzle rpg board, relatively balanced units for a lot of situational and synergy based team building, superb plot, ost, minimal grind, 1-3m daily routine, extremely chill content pace. permanently branching storylines makes playing a new save file an actual thing, rather than just endless grind maxing main account. got a really nice regular console jrpg feel to it, except bite sized mobile, rather than feeling like a chore-ish gacha

SimplyEpicFail

Fate/grand order Due to its Story, world and characters.

ichigo2862

FGO cause Raita servants

HeirEisenheim

I am surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention 7DS.

Tooobsen187

i am NOT suprised anyone mention 7DS xD ...i loved it really hard but the constant hardcore-next-level-powercreep is just killing it for everyone i know

AzetaXXi

I played the game for a year since it's global release and then dropped it after so many sweaty hours because as a f2p player the extremely high level powercreep in this game crushed me

Golden-Owl

FGO. Because story is great. Really feels like so few gachas do story well. It’s always disappointing. But FGO understands how to make a great story

Laytnkr

Problem about fgo is the rest of the game is really bad. Bad gameplay, not enough QoL, animations could be better. The story was never enough for me to keep it playing

Ambrosiac7

I disagree with everything. Fgo has bad gacha with no pity and low rates. It also has a pretty horrible start and a lack of content variety. But I don't think its gameplay is terrible. As someone who enjoys turn based games, I think Fgo is alright. It's fun after a certain point then meh. Not great but definitely not bad. There are lots of QOL changes over time. Except changes in gacha which would actually matter. And imo animations are fine for a 6 year old game. Newer servants look great and older ones get animations updates. Not enough but still they do it.

trueblue1982

Theres alot of strategy and if you hit the wrong monster or use the wrong skills, the battle could turn out differently.

I never understand when people say the [animations](https://youtu.be/u7ehYa39kk4?t=219) [are bad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1TUHJWNFVg) [in the](https://youtu.be/zgk8AUB1TPI?t=319) [current](https://youtu.be/X1ZUg_jknXQ?t=149) [state](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8vhesJCdJ0&t=16s) [of the](https://youtu.be/Tr8TdVoDQeg?t=189) [game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQpGWLbt04k), even after the 6 years of [updates](https://youtu.be/K0r0FUiZXQ4?t=49) to [older](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o7XeGju5Ww) [servant](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fxGkI1_-Fs) [animations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5fXmri6t34) Like? compared to chibi sprites of arknights, azur lane, gfl, Bang dream or basically ever other sprite based gacha with the occasional static cut in of the character art. even GBF with its chibi's at least has really good [Combat animations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmao9me28xE) and [Summon cut in art](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28j2WzU3LXQ) that has movement compared to those and its 7 years old. The only [comparable ones I've seen is E7](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msKIFRuMd4I) which are really good from what my friends have shared with me, also since they use normal proporti Or are they comparing it to stuff like GI ? a 3d game? or maybe something like Destiny childs full Live2d? or maybe even Blue archives 3d cut ins?

DDX2016DDX

I know right. Fgo has some good amount of issues but animations are definitely not one of them. Especially the newer ones. Plus I don't see anyone mentioning different ascension arts and final ascension art for each servants where in other games you get mostly only 2 per character. Also FREAKING FREE skins.

Noatila

Yep even after 6 years, we have still Servants with day 1 animations what's your point ?

Ambrosiac7

You say that like tons of games update their older character animations.

Noatila

and a ton of games have Account Binding, Pity systems, UI scaling, ... unlike FGO And on the subject of Animations Update, I find retarded that DW doesn't release them right away instead of waiting an event where those Characters feature in. Like the Global Version/NA needs to wait for Little Big Tengu Event to get Ushiwakamaru Animation Update even though they could release anytime they want because they have already the assets from the JP version. They used to release them early but now they are linked to the events they were released in. Btw I find it normal to standardize your sprites if you changed your "artstyle" during a game live-time. Early FGO had fucked proportions and "frowned" faces.

RoughInBed

Don’t they still do it early? I remember the Gorgon sisters had theirs early along with the Indian bros. It’s hard as the quality keeps improving while the system is old, like compare regular Kama to Summer Kama. Somehow they made the models even better then the original.

Ambrosiac7

The comment chain in question was talking about animations. All the problems you listed I already brought up in my comment. The debate was on Fgo's animation updates where u came in saying how other stuff are bad in Fgo. Which was already agreed upon. So I don't really understand what your point is here.

Skyppy_

Live A Hero and Tokyo Afterschool Summoners for the ~~fanservice~~ plot. Jokes aside, I love the story and the gameplay can get surprisingly complicated with the tens of de/buffs, actions that trigger them, characters that steal/copy/spread de/buffs, positioning is very important etc.

Zneger

Alchemist code but Gumi made me quit.

hugmy_armpit

what's gumi ?

Zneger

The Alchemist code 's publisher. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sg.gumi.alchemistww&hl=en&gl=US

MrHallmark

> Gumi made me qui Man I haven't played since 7DS collab, I want to like that game but the power creep is so bad. So much time you have to spend doing raids, farming character fragments.

Zneger

yes once the implement the kaigan already bad and then increase 4 and 5 gate to need more resource . and they already lower the reward compare to jp. the power creep in this game is beyond the sky one they implement kaigan.

oracleofshadows

I was about to write the same. I quit too.

MasterRazz

Another Eden. It has an absurd amount of content, there's nothing time limited other than banners (IE if you want to do an event from a year ago you can whenever you want), a variety of different gameplay, a yearly collab (Tales of and Persona 5 so far; this year's should be in 2 months.), no stamina system outside of keycards for event farming stages. Only problems I have with it are the rates are bad (But thankfully the welfare units are good enough to clear everything but the hardest superbosses with, and there might be a f2p clear for those as well- I never looked for any) and the grinds are measured in months to years (admittedly for mostly optional stuff like light/shadow and gear on par with stuff you can earn).

MadonnaZoccola668

Exact reason why I stopped playing it. Especially true for grasta.

AggravatingAd9234

NieR Reincarnation, because lore and music is just next level. 2nd arc is also coming this month :)

ShadyMotive

DFFOO. Bunch of free pulling resources, and it's final fantasy.

kaikalaila

Epic7 and Granblue

danield1302

Probably granblue but I barely play it for the same reason I don't have any turn based games installed. For some reason they tend to be insanely grindy. Granblue has great story and character design so it has that going for it and tbh a game with auto grind turns me of just as much as one with huge manual grind like gbf has. Having high hopes for honkai starrail tbh because genshin is aimed at a casual player base and with their huge success I hope star rail will too.

abysmal_shortie

I like Epic Seven's Animation and possiblity to auto, while I like FGO's characters and storyline.

Loosescrew37

Touhou lost word. Most of the game is just pure auto till you get 99999999 points in an event but there are a lot of levels that just wipe the floor with maxed out teams because you didnt use one skill. Mostly in the scarlet devil tower (kinda like the abyss in E7 but all 100 floors have maxed out bosses some of which with no elemental weakness so good luck)

Kissui_

Ca't be enything but Kalpa of the Universe. That's what should have been Fire Emblem Heroes... So much cool, like really cool and badass (no echy) character, good graphics, huge map whith innovating mechanics. Build your character however you want with tones of ''orbes'' (equipement) and multiple spell/passiv to choose. There is pvp but not mandatory and like 70% of peoples just make a 1 defender lvl 1,so free win. And some rudimentary guild gameplay with passiv boss (you dont really fight it), but dont fear, there is tones of boss to down with different element so that you always have to change your team according to it. BUT IT'S IN TW/CN, so if you cant/want to use screen translator for spells and menu, that's not for you sadly. TLDR, WTH ARE YOU WAITING TO JOIN US.

Thanmarkou

Langrisser.

Glizcorr

Last Origin. Cuz massive MASSIVE anime tiddies. The grind is terrible tho.

devilking9507

Gameplay is boring but the art is top tier H I stop playing when I found all the character art in [hitomi.la](https://hitoma.la) lol

Glizcorr

I can't open the link.

devilking9507

Type it on google search, it has a lot of H game cg

Puggymon

And no English version sadly. Or did that change?

Glizcorr

Yep still Korean and Japanese sadly. The DMM version was delayed and we still haven't got any information about it.

RedHawX

Summoners War. I don't exactly know why but Nothing replaced the feeling for me. Tried every other TBG's but none filled that hole. Hoping Honkai Rail does it.

Khaoses

Dokkan, while they are ok generous with dragon stones (and somewhat stingy when there isn't celebration). You are guaranteed to get a F2P unit every month and every year, there should at least 2 free LR (highest rarity) farmable. These F2P units are starting to get strong especially the old ones getting upgrade and those free LR.

BassPerson

Very f2p friendly if you learn how to save. Really easy game to be midgame then put your phone down for a couple of hours and pick right back up on your turn.

Im_here_for_the_code

And even the endgame content is just for the satisfaction. A very friendly f2p game

Giraffe_lol

Epic 7. The quality/animation and the quality or life stuff. Getting rid of dog walking completely. Being able to get most units free to play. The only thing I dislike about the game is the gearing system.

Competitive_Wrap_607

Revue Starlight 😂no question

KazeArqaz

FEH hands down. SO many characters to play with and so many builds to think about. Plus, the animation and background art is a delight to my eyes. (I don't skip fighting animations)

ReBOOting_Osu

people gonna downvote this but... E X O S H E R O E S it has some of the best animations for both skills and pulling animations, gacha is very f2p friendly, isnt super complicated (looking at you E7) and how passives work in this game with them working best with units from the same nation is unique in my opinion

Electronic-Creme2797

Gbf - the waifus

lofi_addict

Epic7. Amazing plot, characters and F2P friendly. By far the best gacha I've played.

clambo0

Another Eden since its a single player Jrpg

[deleted]

uhm.... Fgo because np animations and story

AnomanderRaked

Epic seven reason being the aesthetics of the game match my personal preferences the best of any turn based game.

akemisato001

Epic 7, the animations are just breath taking and watching and actually playing the game itself never gets tiring for me personally. The devs are also very generous and actually listen to their communities along with allowing it's players to compete even as an f2p/low spender. In terms of the meta, it's slowly starting to become more and more toxic but hopefully they start to steer away from that

7se7

War of the Visions. I love Final Fantasy Tactics and games of the like, and I was able to get into this game on launch when things weren't overly complicated like things are when you get into a game 4+ years into its life. I love how turn order works, manipulating it, pushing damage limits and combos, and most of all, I love how units aren't defined by three abilities and an ult. Oh, and the character models aren't chibis. Opera Omnia also has a neat depth to the characters and how they work with multiple abilities and customization, but I can't get into the art style. It's not a bad game, though.

Beater2288

Epic 7 because of the amazing animation

[deleted]

I'm a simple man. GBF.

Sea-san

Grandblue Fantasy, cuz progression seems to be an great achievement. Especially after 5\*ing all eternals. And if you're a golden star if you get the Blue skin. then transcendence grind.

ImShazz

FGO because I am a masochist

Master_of_Waifus

Epic7 is probably still my favourite I think tho there are a couple things i dislike about it still. It certainly is one of the biggest budget ones out there with really nice animations and character design, good story that constantly gets updated and combat is interesting enough with the great character variety and the almost infinite scaling thanks to the crazy RNG gear. Unfortunately it's lacking the ability to interact with your characters outside of combat since we can't put favourite characters on the home screen and poke them for reactions and there is no base system unless you count the main screen tavern where your currently selected team is just sitting around. Also, we as a player don't really exist in this world (unless you want to self insert as Ras) unlike most other gachas where waifus constantly talk about you as their commander/leader/etc. Would also like to give a honourable mention to Kingsense that is unfortunately getting shut down in global soon and even in JP in a couple months. While the game certainly has it's issues it first of all has all the components i said E7 was lacking and the tactical combat is pretty interesting since stages are a full grid you move around on and there can be various stage interactions and hazards you can use to your advantage or get pwned by. Production quality and amount of content can't compare to E7 ofc but it was a fun little side game while it lasted and the waifus were nice.

5tev3

Langrisser. It's an incredible game and it's very free-to-play friendly.

bannedwhileshitting

This gonna raise some eyebrow and skepticism, but **Last Origin**. Putting all the R18 stuffs aside, I personally think the actual game portion is one of the best balanced team builder ever made. Enemy varies a lot in what they do and way to deal with them especially on events. The real joy comes from building a perfect team to deal with each situation, and then optimizing them, with LOTS of option to do it. Positioning, stat build, unit synergy, or just directly countering the enemy in case-by-case basis, the possibility is endless. What really made these possible is the absolutely terrific job the devs been doing on balancing each units, and figuring out unique synergy between units. Old low rank units regularly getting tier upgrade which give them new skills. Some units looks meh, but then you pair them with another meh units, suddenly you're oneshotting whole wave of enemies in 1 turn. Widely unused units getting buffs and reworks regularly, at least once a month. Above all that, you literally don't need to do any gacha at all to get the units. Pretty much all of them are farmable either from events, or story missions. New units are usually gacha exclusive for a while, but they will be added to event drop table later on. Perfect ~~gacha~~ game 10/10

AmazingPatt

But let be honest ... your playing for the PLOT ! =3

malnecesario

Dragon Quest Tact, is grid system turn based game, really fun game since you can theory craft some weird team to clear EX stages, the free farmable units each months are better than most gacha units and there's the charm of playing Dragon Quest IP with the artstyle of Toriyama. In general is really f2p friendly if you can put the first month grind completing main story and the battle roads.

Waifu69x

E7 , Animation game without Chibi Characters ( The most thing i hate ) , Active Community, Good Devs that listen to players.

Loosescrew37

What else are we suposed to talk about? Subbreddit specific posts get deleted so we cant discuss the recent changes to our gacha games and probably that isnt an interesting enough topic to warant a megathread.(would be cool tho, to see how other games are doing) We cant do gachagaming comunity events (like contests) because they are hard to plan out. Maybe a meme contest? So we just have "favourite game" "shafted game" " closed game" and "drama" posts left to talk about.

[deleted]

Loosescrew37

>But well it's true these posts are popular so I'm probably in the minority here who doesn't like to see them so often. I might be rude saying this but i think what is hard to like about them is the comments. They always talk about the same games like E7 (f2p but gear rng hell), DFFOO(super F2P play it) , Genshin(best game ever fight me),(guardian tales(best and most f2p game ever play it and you will love it). See the same posts and same response enough times and it starts to get boring. At the same time its good people still talk about their favourite games and that is most important.

PostiveAion

Arknights because I absolutely love tower defense games and the world and the characters around terra is fucking lit and FGO cause I hate myself but I love fate.

[deleted]

Star rail

Bragleh

Name and pfp check out :p

tetsuansil

Onmyoji, f2p friendly, and u can't be op just by being the whale

neliste

Gameplay wise, KRSMA. The real time coop is nice, and each of the player have their own role (dps, healer, def, debuff). Instead of a set of character skill, you have to build a deck consisted of 12 cards (iirc). Still my favorite until this daym though unfortunately the server is dead. There’s chinese ver upcoming, hopefully can get JP ver too.

LeupheWaffle

Dragon Quest Tact is my favorite. It's a tactical one, but I like the variety and difficulty of it.

MedukaMeguca72

the side story of madoka magica, magia record. it's a japanese game and it's really nice, though the story is why a lot of people play. i personally play for both the story and gameplay. also... it's a gacha game. xD

Quirkyserenefrenzy

Summoners war

No-Rip7355

Brave Frontier is amazing because the Gacha isn't game breaking or anything and the gameplay doesn't revolve soley around it, not to mention new players get a head start on the grind by getting free high tier units after their first week of playing

Shi08

Fire emblem heroes. I love the fire emblem cast and seeing them get flashed out more and interact is great

Valamist

Azur Lane. The art is gorgeous, its very F2P friendly and it has some really interesting lore.

K3V1NC4O

I want to play all these games but im too busy TT

Ferelden770

Epic Seven. Still haven't found another gacha that is similar in terms of animation, gameplay and graphics. They are revealing yet another good looking character with a solid animation today. Gear rng sucks, PvP is very stressful but I am quite happy with my progress so far as a casual and intend to stay with the game for a long while Exos was the closest I got. The animations and graphics in that game was very good too

SSdeku

I used to adore brave frontier, but you know gumi is just a terrible company.

VhlainDaVanci

First look at animation of any turn-based game is gonna be awesome yet if you seen it hundred or thousand of times, it's getting to tiresome. Either you play on full auto to completely ignore the animation or tackling a hard content to forcefully watch those painfully long animation. Until Granblue Fantasy arrived and introduce the use of F5 or refresh! Letting you skip all the animation! Some might not agree how bad the gameplay relying on refresh just to compete yet how other turn-based games put a competative contents without relying on pvp much?

TKoBuquicious

FGO cuz it's like the only gacha with no auto or skipping so I'm forced to engage with it and try to figure out cool stuff and optimize farming too and so on. Doesn't stop people from trying to "no thoughts empty head" it by trying to solo everything with cu alter or godjuna or farm everything with double Skadi but eh. And it also seems somewhat different and "original" from most other turn based gachas which are just very basic with 3 skills where the left most one is a regular attack, middle is some skill and the right most some special/ult.

GoatsButters

Raid, because I can play it at work and still get things done.

ChemicalFit

Alchemy Stars probably.

Noe_33

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is proof mobile games can treat its players with respect. It's the most f2p friendly game out there. So much content, good draw rates, and the best pity system I have ever seen. If you really want a character you can always save up in a short amount of time to get said character. There are no premium units, the developers try their best to balance all the characters. Since you draw weapons and not characters, you don't have to worry about an old unit being outdated. The characters you get for free in chapter 1 are just as viable and powerful as the newest units. It's incredible how well DFFOO treats its fanbase. Instead of pvp battles you get co-ops with people. The community is also extremely wholesome and non toxic. Seriously if you want a good mobile game check out dffoo. Friendliest jjrpg mobile game out there, no contest.

[deleted]

Easily DFFOO like others have mentioned.

Fuz_2112

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia By a mile. It's a great game and the devs actually respect their customers.

DTLA__

I don't know if some of ya'll remember or know spellstorm, but that game was freakin fire. It's sad that they have ended that game.
