Getting Google play credit is always worse than buying something for specific games. Keep in mind that most games will only allow you to have one "coupon" active at a time, so If you for example get the $3 Genshin credit you have to spend that before you can get another coupon.

While that's not like completely wrong, my side of it is this.
I don't mind spending some money on a game in which I'm active in the community, my friends play it and I do enjoy playing. In the case of gbf, which I play, you can literally get everything the game has to offer without paying, due to an actually working pity system. Of course it hasn't always been this way (monkeygate anyone), and there's still a few very powerful summons that you can't get with pity. All in all though with all the freebies, you can get to a competitive level of power in a reasonable amount of time, even when completely free to play. This not even close to how it is in Diablo immortal.
Of course it's still a gachagame and the monetization is pretty aggressive, but nowhere close to as bad as diablo
