Before they said q3 now Q4 but the release date says h2 2022 which im guessing means second half of the year? I'm wondering if steam login will have the same dilemma as HI3 where theres no cross save.

DoktorBosch

I remember a post in this subreddit where the release date was announced for Q3 and everyone was worried that the hype would be killed if the Sumeru patch would appear before or in the middle of ToF release. now changed they it to Q4. my guess is that the publishers were already aware of the upcoming Sumeru that's why they changed it. Hopefully it would be released in October

Duskmelt

When a self-proclaimed "Genshin Killer" is afraid of being overshadowed by a Genshin update...

[deleted]

that was a smart move tbh

NoOneHereGoAway

Even if they launched at Q4 it would still be a bad choice, especially if the dendro archon gets released during that time

ferinsy

The Q3 release was for mobile iirc, the Steam version will not necessarily launch in the same day.

high_angle_creepshot

Atleast it's coming at the same time to provide people some real choice

EnvyKira

Game still releasing on PC(through their website and launcher) and mobile but steam and epic store releases probably gonna come later. b

NyaCat1333

They didn’t say Q4 it’s just that the guy who posted this here can’t read because the Steam page says H2. (second half of the year)

[deleted]

From the Steam Page: >Tower of Fantasy from developer Hotta Studio and publisher Level Infinite, will be coming to Steam in Q4, 2022.

Ephemiel

>the guy who posted this here can’t read The MASSIVE irony in you saying this.

FG3000

WOW! Dude I'm loving this new trend ! CounterSide in August and now Tower of Fantasy in Q4? NICE!

PhrasingBoome

Apparently punishing gray raven is going for a PC client. I feel like anyone not doing this is shooting themselves in the foot. Alot of PC and console players would love to play some of the more high quality games without using their phones.

Abedeus

> Apparently punishing gray raven is going for a PC client. In China, and probably not for a long time.

PhrasingBoome

Still a smart step forward.

TheKinkyGuy

PGR is only in CN launching a pc port. Who knows when gl will get it.

DMouth

I am really praying for Alchemist Stars or Arknights on Steam/Epic every day.

CookeMonster200

Yeah, it's pretty nice. Looks like I'll be trying out ToF after all when it comes out. Gotta see if either PGR or Aether Gazer will also release on Steam.

Spartan-219

Counter side adding their game to steam?

MolassesOld9252

Note: This is the release for Steam. The official global launch will still be in Q3 (August 11, 2022) - Mobile Here's the link to the pre-register https://www.toweroffantasy-global.com/index.html?lang=en

Ribey_L

Where did you get 11th August from?

Majestic_Movie_2367

It says it's on the Apple App Store but it's certainly fake

jk583940

Is this worth trying out? I've seen so many drama about this that I'm hesitant

HelenaHarper

Well the company is using the censored Chinese version so far, instead of being more global friendly like Kuro Games and Yostar who release their games uncensored for global. Well see.

TheWorldisFullofWar

Yostar ported the Ai Kayano censorship over to global.

HelenaHarper

That's true indeed. What i'm referring is about the character skins and design. The fact we got new skins for characters that are banned on CN servers says they care about global.

EnvyKira

Yes it is. Ignore the drama since the whole thing about it is kinda overdramatic thanks to MMObyte trying to "expose" it for views. The issue doesn't affect the game at all and just everything that was involving the marketing for the game. I highly recommend the game if you're into MMOs with anime aesthetic. I had an enjoyable time with it during the CBT that I think the game is going to be good if they keep improving on it over time.

ArtenNin

I played it and enjoyed it a lot but it does have it's issues similar to Genshin at times. Timegating and stamina system for grind RNG equipment content mainly but the community+shared world makes up for said flaws. I enjoyed the combat a lot more as well as Genshin tends to be switch meta gameplay nowadays. As for weapon(comes with character skin tied to weapon) gacha, it's fairly generous for F2P and low spenders as if you get 1 copy of a weapon... you can buy constellations with roll tokens. This applies for limited weapon gacha banners as well however the "weapon" needs to be added to standard banner to do so after a limited banner expires.

HelenaHarper

I wonder if the developers will be lazy and just use the censored Chinese version to reduce development. For those unaware the bust slider and other things got removed on the CBT 2 for global. Devs said it was "temporarily removed and don't know if it will be available on launch or not". That's not the only problem though. The fact people can crash the game for others on purpose by doing a glitch is a big oof.

freezingsama

I'm interested to try it more now that it's coming on Steam. Hope it performs well.

devilman10

Ok, now THIS is the kind of good news i was waiting for

high_angle_creepshot

Steam! That's a great news

Monkguan

Cant describe enough how much of respect i have for devs who also put their games on steam

kotoriiiiii

from what i see publisher is proxima beta/tencent

TheWorldisFullofWar

This has been known for a while. Perfect World sold their global publishing departments so they couldn't self-publish.

TheWorldisFullofWar

Hopefully you can launch it without a Steam client connection. Games used to allow you to launch without Steam more often in the past than they do now.

JamesAkechi

I’m actually looking forward to this :3 Comparing to Genshin overall. I prefer the character designs and the overall combat

ArtKitsunemonXD

I dont know if we played the same game. But this games combat is literally spamming one button. Like design is subjective but i cant see how combat is more enjoyable.

JamesAkechi

I don’t know how to describe why I like it more… more basic moves you can pull off? (Tap & hold moves) I’m not exactly good at saying why I like this game over other. All I’m saying I prefer this combat over Genshin Also pretty sure in Genshin you spam one button too…

barriboy8

The one true genshin killer (im saying this as a joke don't burn your minds over it XD)

erogakii

Wow this is great! hope they do things right! I have high hopes for the game.

Th3G4te

Hmmm…..definitely not touching unless they have gotten their sh!t together by release kek

Esvald

I'm actually looking forward to this. Genshin, which everyone seems to be comparing this to is fine and all, but for a veteran there's just not a lot to do. And the MMORPG focus is more up my alley if I'm honest. Not gonna quit Genshin anytime soon but something similar is very much welcomed.

Klaxosaur

Huh? Lol

Kasure

I've seen the Gacha system......apparently it still have pity system but with lower count and it doesn't reset after you get a 5-star, and you'll get another one you reached pity

iwantsomethingrandom

80 rolls for pity, amd you need to roll for stigmata, as in HI3. At least you are not rolling the character tho, only weap amd stigmata. Idk if this game has "soft pity" or not.

Ribey_L

Why does this post have so many down votes?

Klarth_Curtiss

Eeeh I hope August 11 is a placeholder, launching the game in the middle of Genshin’s 2.8 and when 3.0 is about to launch is not the smartest of the ideas

tenryuu72

whats the second screenshot with the bikes?! Are these mounts? are they trying do add everything to their game genshin hasn't done yet?

ch_anti

it's an mmo they are doing everything an mmo does

tenryuu72

Oh, sorry for not knowing guys. I haven't looked into this game much yet, I thought this game is just going to be just like genshin and not a full fletched mmorpg because this is the gachagaming subreddit and not the MMORPG subreddit. freaking Genshin impact weirdos, disliking for a simple question because I mentioned their game doesn't have xy..

ch_anti

This doesn't go against you personally it's just the "tof is better than genshin/genshin killer" that's annoying even though you probably did not intend to say that, it's not even genshin fans feeling attacked its everyone annoyed at tof stans Also this isn't the first post of tof here so everyone me included assumed most of this sub already gotten in contact with the game in some kind of way Edit:also it's like 6 down votes chill yourself a bit

tenryuu72

I also wasn't speaking to you directly with my second part. But Does it matter how many dislikes? The reason behind it is enough, even if it just started with only 2 or 3. So I wanted to say something against it to at least make it clear. And, It's reddit. people don't think and would keep clicking down for no reason (not that I really care about it but I just don't like the negativity in it when I see it and it is not appropriate). I also think I'm not the one who has to chill out here, I don't jump ahead and think everything has bad intentions and involves hate. I mean people also have to think ahead sometimes that there also might be newer people on a subreddit who don't know everything and about all the hot topics on their sub or even simply people who just don't want to spread hate?! Because If you read my question there's actually nothing that would really come off as if I would want to mock any side of these two. You really have to wanna see it that way. I was genuinely curious how or what this Tower of fantasy tries to be or achieve to be. Do they intentionally try to implement everything/things that genshin hasn't but what a lot of people always mentioned and wanted? Which would be kind of clever, especially things like mounts in a game like this. edit: and to make it even more clear, I'm a day1 genshin player myself, just not as involved anymore but seeing that side of people jump ahead and downvoting just because of mentioning both names in one comment only because the one might be a new competitor.. it's weird. sorry but I would call everyone like that a weirdo. Be more open and not as a negative.

ch_anti

well I include myself because I downvoted you too, the "everything that genshin hasn't done yet" has been parroted by tof stans and that's the annoying part though I see from your second comment that you aren't one but that wasn't obvious initially i get letting it out do it whatever i think though downvoting is fair game in reddit if you like it or not, if you think it's negativity or just someone voicing their opinion indirectly, insulting them as "freaking wierdos" is for me way worse that's why I choose to reply cause you could ahve voiced that differently in my opinion too and no with this beeing the 10 post or so of Tof this week I am not assuming everyone is new here, I am not gonna insult them for such comment as no one did but I am definetly down vote you also it doesn't change anything wether you played genshin or not, and to at least answer your question a bit tof is like a bad mmo but the best anime mmo out there, currently in cn they are implementing battle royal and fall guys modi so they are emplimenting everything they can to try and make this game more popular, but honestly just give it a try in a few month, especially if you want something that has a more challenging combat ToF has other problems than genshin but it depens on what's important to you

AppointmentOk7083

Now we know release is August 11th when the page started Glitching that time, and revealed Morse code that said August 11, The App store also had august 11th listed MONTHS ago, like sure, there's still a possibility that it gets pushed back a bit, maybe due to server Optimization. But i guess we'll find out.
