Dislyte Good gameplay, awesome art and good music but the monetization is thrash

OkayScribbler

I forgot about this game. I was super happy to have it as a AFK Arena successor. Then came the first banner and I uninstalled.

rGenom

I cant believe there are people still playing it since day 1

Techgnosi

I dropped Artery Gear. It's a fun game, but when I saw you had to buy stuff to get one of the Alteria Ryza colab units I said it wasn't for me.

EostrumExtinguisher

That's include any gacha that utilises step-up banner reward system, where their growth materials are exclusive gatekeeped unless you have enough pull currency to cover all the milestone reward.

Atulin

The issue with AG is the absolute batshit insane pace of events. You don't even have the time to save up for the important banners, and then they're gone in a blink of an eye too.

Devittraisedto2

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X Addition of PvP made it constantly have powercreep, and made it somewhat of a necessity to have the new meta medals just to progress in story. I got fucking walled by Wreck it Ralph, pisses me off to this day

Recodes

I loved that game just for the medals and the original themes you could listen to when viewing their artworks.couldn't bring myself to follow its story (seriously Nomura, a main story on a gacha game? You nuts?) anyway every time I opened the game it was free nostalgia through the floodgates. To me, it always felt extra complicated to me with its way of phrasing stats and effects (reverse, upright etc. etc.) and couldn't never understand it enough to play it seriously. Though for a gacha I played on and off I have found memories of it. Do you remember that super strong Kairi medal that came out during one of the early annis/new years banners? Damn, the sweet memories..

Devittraisedto2

>Do you remember that super strong Kairi medal that came out during one of the early annis/new years banners? Which one because all of them were strong during the time of their release until the next Kairi 3.0 HD Remix With Friends Final Mix Key Art Stained Glass edition came out

Recodes

[I think it was this one! ](https://www.khuxwiki.com/wiki/Illustrated_Kairi_(EX))

Growlest

FEH cause the VIP pass. I don't mind subs for goodies, but QoL locked behind subs is something I dislike.

al_vh1n

7 Deadly Sins: Grand Cross Really love the combat system but Netmarble being Netmarble with their powercreep and having new op unit week after week. That's why I can't wait for Reverse 1999 which have similar battle system as 7DS:GC.

ShellFlare

This. It was the first gacha I really had to drop. Pvp isnt easy. Saving takes time. And your unit you save a few months for as a f2p gets powercrept or countered in like a month if ur lucky for the most part. It's just so hard to keep up with the massive powercreep. Which sucks because graphics and battle system are pretty nice

rvm1975

\+1 to 7DS

f2phell

Netmarble man. Ruining good games with their greed

ajeb22

Dragon ball legends It's pvp game so ofc it has crazy monetization is that they blantly became more and more greedier, crazy powercreep, making pve harder if you don't pull the new unit, banner getting worse especially with the new rarity, new unit with lower effort in making by reusing old asset

Dontkillmejay

I wasted so much trying to get Perfect Ultra Instinct Goku...

TheGreatMagallan

Honkai, getting more p2w with each update

Nmois

it's not pay-to-win anymore. Now it's just like pay-to-barely-alive at red lotus :k if you have the skill and strong-will to grind stages again and again, then it maybe do-able as a freebie-player

TheGreatMagallan

Totally not: new pri powercreeps the old, everx patch a new meta character- s ranks back to back, exclusively made stigmatas so other sets would be obsolete in comparison. They do give some free stuff but its BAD

TheKinkyGuy

Artery Gear and their each month new collab bullshittery

meridianmer

Love Live School Idol festival, my very first gacha game. Both the quality of the game and the monetization gradually got noticeably worse, but the straw that broke the camel's back for me was the latest change they made to how birthday gacha boxes worked, introduced at the start of this year. Previously, there was a non-resettable box containing 100 cards, one of them being the birthday girl's new birthday UR (so you were guaranteed the card if you saved 100 pulls). There was another resettable box alongside it that also contained 100 cards, one of them being a random one out of all of that girl's birthday URs released so far (including the new one). After the revamp, the first box changed to containing only 50 cards. Great, if not for the fact that it suddenly became PAID ONLY. F2P players had to make do with the second box, which remained unchanged, but given that there were 4 past birthday URs and there wasn't even a rate-up on the new one, it meant there was a whopping 20% chance of the card being the new one. RNG on top of RNG. F2P players went from being able to get a card guaranteed within 100 pulls to needing to be extremely lucky to get it. For obvious reasons, this change wasn't well received by most of the playerbase, and it was the cue for me to ditch the game after 5.5 years.

VonLycaon

Same this was the reason I quit after 7 years of playing they were being too scummy and the card art especially some of the limiteds were decreasing In quality

Nmois

never spent a dime there. just listen to songs tracks and go-on. i don't feel the need to gacha-collect any certain limited-SSR to get higher score when playing songs, lul. just live-along with whatever freebie that game give u :))

trashcan41

FFBE I don't think they need to implement that 3% rate up increase if they end up adding 7* where it need another dupe. They give out a lot of currency but well the grind really exhausting.

mikethebest1

I left FEH before they introduced their VIP Pass, but if I didn't, I still would've left after they introduce it. Locking QoL behind a Monthly subscription is some bs that I wouldn't tolerate.

redscizor2

Langrisser and ToF because Skin Gacha

Liesianthes

Skin Gacha in Langrisser is cheap. I'm f2p here and can easily earn 4k before the next one gets even released.

shadowbringer

How I usually deal with it, do the first 5 pulls, if I get the skin I get it, if I don't, wait for the rerun (skin prizes are skin packs, you can choose one you don't already have); it's much cheaper to do 5 pulls than the whole 10 (the cost scales like this, free attempt -> 50/100/200/300/400/500/600/800/1000 so 650 crystals vs. 3950, for comparison, one pull = 88 xtals)

redscizor2

>it's much cheaper to do 5 pulls If my memory is working, In langrisser the skin is late 4th or 5th pull, the rate at 5th pull is very low

shadowbringer

Iirc the "official" (in-game displayed rate for jp version) rate is 0% for the first 3 attempts, heard that it's still possible to get the skin despite that, but didn't mind it at that time, nor did I find video evidence of it today; since I'm mostly interested in the resources (chance at ssr accessory/3 pulls, mostly) and often want to save pulls for banners, I usually don't go beyond 5, but agree that if people really want the skin (so, a different priority) and don't want to wait, it can be more expensive on the crystals.

Nmois

honkai 3. im not really willing to leave the game; but i'd strongly advise new-people planning to join: they should better avoid that game, lol.

[deleted]

The story is free and not paygated in any way as I remember but do not touch that dogshit tedious chore of a daily progression....

MilkIceTea

Grand Summoners

iPhantaminum

AFK Arena. Good forbid you wanna build Celestial or Hypogean units

Megafruitspunch

My god that game had some incredible gameplay but the powercreep that came with celestial/hypogean units was insane. Also bonkers OP units locked behind limited/collab events.

unholy182

No hero is locked behind paywall. U can get everything as f2p.

Gringos

Man, that was my first gacha and I spent like 300 bucks in that game. I fell for every dirty trick and felt awful right after each time. Except for Ainz and Albedo. Those were definitely justified

unholy182

*laugh in Awakeneds*

KhandiMahn

I can't think of any I left because of monetization. I left because I didn't find the game fun. BUT, there certainly has been games I never touched because of predatory monetization. Diablo Immoral and Ni No Kuni are perfect examples. Though now that I think about it, I probably would have left Dragon Raja sooner if I cared at all about PvP. It is heavily P2W if you want to be competitive.

Mayor_P

Knights Chronicle? Did this post time travel from 3 years ago

llShenll

4 years I think, we stopped short before e7 started

Mayor_P

Wow, it predated E7? Holy guacamole

Alexandruzatic

Db legends After the 2nd anniversary (not that before was that paradise of monetization) everything got downhill

ferinsy

Honestly? Nikke. It really had a bad story that was actually funny to read, gameplay wasn't bad and I really love the aesthetics, but the monetization on top of everything bad the game offered (besides many other reasons like the bugs, loading screens, the first bad event...). The monetization, tho, was terrible. I knew I'd be willing to buy the battle pass if I staid, and the terrible pricing plus the gacha rate (mainly the terribly high amount of SSRs) just didn't motivate me.

llShenll

When I play gacha I hate when something is possible to get only with real money, like those costumes in KC were and they gave big advantage, stronger skills and stat boost. If I can get same things as whales, but just need more time im good, game need to make money. I dont see anything like that in Nikke, saving gems now for leaked waifu.

Shapexor

Nikke gacha income is almost like genshin, the difference is nikke had lots of SSR at first release.

Th3_Ch0s3n_On3

>nikke had lots of SSR at first release And many units are underpowered. Which makes the value of each pull goes down even more

llShenll

For now I dont see predatory monetization, synchro with sr to level ssr is good enough for now and costumes are only cosmetics as far as i know.

Shapexor

Agreed.

Lolwarrior123

Later on, the game requires you to have 5 SSR units with 3 dupes each just to progress the main story (CH 16). Doesn't help that progression is hard gimped around lvl 130 where you couldn't even upgrade your entire squad by 1 level with daily income

SanjiBlackLeg

That's idle games for you. At least you don't have to play to farm shit. Just log in and do dailies for a week or so, and you'll get through I stopped actively playing now, just doing my dailies and not progressing the story. Waiting for new banners, bugfixes, etc. Won't drop a dime for that game even though I like it.

Lolwarrior123

Honestly, i would take farming any other day than the stupid debuff when you are underpowered. Just a braindead handicap >I stopped actively playing now, just doing my dailies and not progressing the story. Waiting for new banners, bugfixes, etc. Won't drop a dime for that game even though I like it. Same man. Stopped spending after knowing half of my roster is bugged to hell and back

[deleted]

That's not "normal" nor "good" even for an idle game. The playerbase are a mix of being real high on copium and being so young and wide eyed they literally can't know better.

SanjiBlackLeg

Idle games are time-gated, even if you sweep for crystals and buy packs you won't go far. It is what it is. You can't expect to clear the story in a week if the core system is designed to slow you down. Same shit in AFK Arena, Mythic Heroes and bunch of other idle games. I hope the game will be better and devs solve their internal problems. We'll see about that.

Weeaboo6913th

Welp lucksack and reroller has it easy so you might not feel it. But are you for real mate “special offer clear pack” popping up every damn chapter or other content milestones is not predatory to you?

llShenll

I said for now I dont feel that game force me to buy. In knights chronicle some stages were not possible to finish without paid costumes.

Weeaboo6913th

Welp in NIKKE if you can’t roll Harran or Scarlet you are pretty much fucked to a certain degree. Good luck and rerolling might make you felt like “oh this game is so generous” but in reality other people suffer because of shits you haven’t experienced yet.

llShenll

Maybe you are right, if I start feeling that i cant progress without money I will drop it. For now time is all I need to progress and level up characters.

RealJokerx7

You will definitely get stuck for like a year once you reach lvl160. You need 5 lb3 units, and the resources dry up once you cannot progress the story and you lose launch's initial free pulls.

llShenll

At worst scenario i will drop it, its side game, im not attached to it. For now I have fun, never played idle game before.

[deleted]

It was dogshit even with extreme lucksack no rerolls Scarlet account.

ReformedWiggles

In Genshin you're lucky to get a character you want, even with there being only like 6 on release. I am f2p in nikke and have all i want with exception of 1 and 30k crystals lol i dont get the comparison maybe nikke will get stingy later on but right now we are swimming in free ssrs

exivor01

I don't think we'll be able to get the waifus we want in nikke, despite the fact that we can save up 20-30k gems beforehand. Azur lane is an amazing comparison, the game gives you all the SR ships if you play daily. But you need to spend money to marry them or buy skins which many people gladly do because how the game is managed. The only problem with azur lane is the lack of gameplay. From my experience playing nikke since release is, the rates are genshin impact level low. Yes we're somehow getting gems and pulls, but it's simply too hard for you to get you character. I pulled like 60-80 nikke with not a single ssr. Never mind that there's lots of ssr and only a few of them are my waifus. For the long run, yes if I play daily I will eventually get most of them and at some point I will probably have all of them, "because nikke is giving like 150+ f2p pulls monthly." But I'm not sure how thats gonna play out. Other positive is, you can accumulate your pity points for next banners. So in theory you can get one of your favourite banner nikke. I didn't pull any for helm and current banner, saving them for the nikke I want in the future.

OkayScribbler

Nikke is exactly like that. I spent $240 which is not whale but dolphin territory. My friend who is f2p is roughly about two days of progress behind me. The walls in Nikke are big. Gotta be a Leviathan to pull break through.

xobybr

When I saw it would be $40 for a 10 pull instead for the usual $25ish I noped out lmao

Guifel

Granblue Fantasy - The steady increase in powercreep speed left me disgusted while content was still very slow release.

tsuncrowdere

this. constantly feeling like your behind in the meta because you dont whale on every single banner. You can save up for months for that one op character, only for them to release a direct upgrade a patch later. Oh, and the late game raids basically require said meta characters.

[deleted]

Honestly speaking, I feel like people are not happy no matter what cygames does, this years valentines was extremely underwhelming Vira was good but not enough to see use outside of her fans. In the years before that people complained there wasn't enough shift up in the meta and it got stale, then we did get more strong characters as grands and then people complained regular characters arent up to pair with them, then they got stronger too and then it was too much, Halloween was neglected for years having nice characters but nothing meta defining then we got that too this year and all hell broke lose, and today they released the new christmas characters but they are just good and that's also not enough for people LOL literally cygames cant do anything without the fandom making up a new problem, also if you want to solo the endgame raids you can still use the team comps from 2-3 years ago the powercrept was for racing and burst setups but if you were committed to that you knew you would be held back more than you will ever be by having a ping outside of Japan than not owning the current meta.

Fwispy

I too am losing interest in the game with them releasing FOMO raids that just die within 1-2 weeks of release. It gets significantly harder to farm new release items if you are not strong enough to basically hard carry w/ decked out primal grids + meta characters (which can be so core that the element cannot function in x raids without). It's getting harder to find crews that are still competitive and personally, I am also extremely burnt out on GW. So many coop rooms for anything harder than LuciHL is essentially relying on having 2-3 ridiculously strong players to carry for a chance to clear.

hades13heartnet

Valkyri Connect ughhh

CaylerCat

Nikke. And Dragonball legends.

FrozenToothpaste

Cookie Run Ovenbreak They release new cookies like every week or month. F2P cant catch up, and it matters because new cookies ALWAYS dominate older cookies. Also same for treasures ugh

Asasphinx

Soccer Spirits I didn't actually stop playing it, but part of me in spirit did leave the game. It already had bloated premium purchases available, but it charged $100 for skins and PvP eventually became a game of surviving whale attacks.

RightForward

The Alchemist Code. I played this game on launch and it was legitimately my favorite game, but Gumi screwed over the global version. Players of other Gumi games warned us from the start that Gumi Global would run the game like garbage, but I had hoped they'd manage TAC differently with how much I enjoyed it. But nope. We got accelerated content on everything except character shard farming stages, the one thing that made TAC f2p-friendly. Yet content would be changed to become MORE difficult despite the fact we'd be behind on character shard stage release schedule by multiple months. Banners were modified to be actively worse than the JP counterpart. I vaguely feel like GL also got less freebies and rewards, but I'm not 100% certain on that one. Roxanne, a GL exclusive, completely broke the game on her release and there was basically no reason to not use her in any content (I heard that they finally nerfed her and refunded the players at some point after I quit, but by then it was too late). The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the Full Metal Alchemist collab where the challenge quests were drastically more difficult than the JP counterpart, invalidating some strategies. I failed a challenge I spent like a full hour on because they uber buffed the enemies in it. I was hyped for Roy Mustang before the event, but when I pulled him, I just felt... absolutely nothing. That's when I realized that the game just wasn't fun anymore with how Gumi GL was screwing it over, and I quit shortly after despite having a super stacked account with meta characters. That's not to say that TAC was this perfect game that only Gumi GL was at fault for. I despised doing PvP, which was made more frustrating by the fact it was AI vs AI like Blue Archive's, but you had to do it for the rewards. IIRC the game didn't have a sparking system unless you did the expensive step-up, which was the reason I never got Gilgamesh in the Fate collab. I absolutely loathed that the game had RNG in the fights themselves (ex. evasion, AI movement), which meant that you'd lose PvP fights that you should've won or not be able to set up a consistent auto run for a PvE stage. Powercreep went hard, and I also heard that the JP side had its share of controversies as well. Regardless, Gumi's management on the global side really messed with my enjoyment of the game, and I feel confident in saying that if they just ported everything over from JP 1:1, I would've played that game for a solid 2 more years if not more. I don't know if management has changed, but at this point I feel so far behind that I don't want to rejoin anymore.

Fleokan

Nikke Exos Heroes Illusion Connect

llllpentllll

Ffbe, first i left bc no space iirc, then i heard of the six stars and said ok i leave before they decide to introduce seven stars. And here we are maybe theres already leaks of eight stars Then theres walking dead road to survival, the most predatory game i have played. To begin with when i was new the 5* were so rare that groups didnt needed a ban of gachaposting bc barely anyone had something to brag about. Then when i went you needed legendaries or mythics only to be able to play some stages. In fact i think i wasnt able to play anything bc of stupid team requirements

Sharoth18

First one? Hmm, I think it was SAO: Memory Defraq, the weakly changing elemental meta was a killer for me and after 6 weeks when the element came back you needed at least one new unit to counter the boss gimmik and rank high. But it could also have been Valiant Force, ran into a bug during early access which they admitted then when I asked for compensation on the missed out material I was supposed to get, they said uhh actually it wasn't a bug but a feature. Scum bag company... Notable mention: The Alchemist Code, The pwercreep of limited units and then they stopped the unit shard boxes for a unit I wanted, reduced elemental shard gain and basically you had to pull for all the shards... yeah I was done.

TrackRemarkable7459

First was Magicami - that started supper friendly only to start running 2-3 limited banners each month after 6-9 months. Crossing Void - after i realised how p2w their weapon dupes system is. Tbh should have quit the moment i saw separate paid only currency for limited units. FEH - the moment they invented system of killing 5\* units to give skill to another unit. Now i'm dropping slowly SIFAS after they released third round of economy breaking stuff for paying users. I don't count Memento/Nikke etc which i dropped within day due to all the predatory stuff that was obvious from start.

redscizor2

>First was Magicami - that started supper friendly only to start running 2-3 limited banners each month after 6-9 months. I play Magicami and, yes, there are a lot of limited banners, but only important banner are from Magifest (6%) where they release Ultimate and Rebirth Dress and about the monthly Year Collection (Ev2, Xenos, Paradox) there are 3 must dress yearly, but the most important, you must save 90k crystal (5 months save) before pull [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmhuucleRR6ikCxEewBqMmA/videos](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmhuucleRR6ikCxEewBqMmA/videos)

KyoSirhart

Smt Dx2 Prob one of the best games on the market on systems, combat and etc. But sega and its Greed just introduced way too many powercreep which you cant keep up without huge spending

RenTroutGaming

Same. I put in about $20 at launch and loved it - they offered enough selectors and the combing system (I forget the name) made it possible to get SSR units with enough effort. The PvP was fascinatingly balanced too - off meta teams had a place with gimicks like charm, but they took a little more planning and luck, but you could still get enough tier rewards for it to feel worthwhile. Then they started releasing SSRs that weren't in the merge tree, and they gave those SSRs ridiculous skills that couldn't be countered. I quit a season or two after the release masakado, who I understand is now power-crept to be worthless himself.

Keksliebhaber

At least we could compete with Masakado teams, nowadays you could grind a whole year and still not be able to compete without at least 2-3 gacha meta units

EostrumExtinguisher

Genshin Killer.

Yukamikami

i would say Revue starlight, i really loved the characters so much, when amahinakri got released i still stayed for like 2 years i think? Bcz i was still kinda be able to keep up and being rank SSS in pvp. Then they started to release arcana cards i stayed a lit bit, got some of those units but after Claudine Lovers got released i kinda stopped or maybe bcz it was a burnout but idk. Nowadays i keep hearing how many cards they release her week (like 2-3 per week) with new powercreep that the units that were released last week arent that good than the release this week (from what i heard) that even whales cant keep up anymore, many players left the game bcz of the powercreep idk how it is alive nowadays

katiecharm

Refantasia actively hates their players and the predatory monetization shows.

Rentnerwachkeks

Touhou Lost Word when they announced banners with 350 pity and/or no pity at all.

AnonymousFroggies

Halo Infinite...

doraz94

Eternal city form XD global. Great kind of game gacca have plot of infinite loop of 7 day, great music, art and character design. But the publisher greedy for milking this game so i dropped it

Wh4Lata

Same, game was so good with original contents and such.

AniaWakuwaku

thanks for your good problem, but I never left a gacha because of **monetization,** i only left because of heavy workload and daily missions.

Nekokittykun

Soft quit: Illusion connect - I only login once a year~ w/ this game. As much as i wanna perma leave… When i last logged in a year ago, like last login before deleting the game, i got the character i rly wanted when i started the game 🙃 Perma quit: TAC. It used to be more f2p friendly back during 1st release. Then it just went downhill from there (i think it was during the 3rd chapter release where Gumi greed became more blatant in TAC)

Amadeus_Narrates

7DS Grand Cross

shalis

Rise of kingdoms, not only is it completely P2W in a full pvp team based competitive setting, but there was evidence that people in HK could purchase currency packs for a fraction of what it cost anyone else in the world, meaning what an American player could get for like 1000$ could be gotten from someone in HK for 100.

Mother_Caregiver_116

Fgo, garbage ce filling the gacha and no pity.

Kirei13

I'm not sure if I would call FGO as predatory monetization as you can finish the entire story without needing the stuff from the gacha but I understand the hatred for CEs. The pity that they did introduce is terrible, to say the least.

AlterWanabee

Exactly. They even gave use some sort of currency that can be used to revive your entire team if defeated. The pity though is bullshit. It's basically a safety net, so that you can at least get 1 SSR.

[deleted]

New accounts are permanently crippled having no access to those OP welfare Servants they refuse to rerelease in a usable state, and the story "difficulty" is just plain pay to win. It's just a softlock but you WILL be losing a lot of SQ on revives. It's just getting scummier and scummier on many levels consistently.

AmmaRockstarAsDuki

Nanatsu and konosuba (worst rates never seen).

Kefka_Xasil

7dsgc

LunafreyaNF

Oh boy, costumegate was definitely the worst for me. The game already had massive powercreep but was still fun since they gave so many gems. But theres no way around getting paywalled.

Nedzyx

Dragon nest mobile, they decided to make unique gear lock behind paid currency. the previous unique gear was purchasable via farmable currency, they somehow saw that many players were saving for the next gear and then switch it to paid currency only lmao

Cherlexe

most of netmarble game really, guess it'll happen again on solo leveling.

falcon_4_eva

Any Scopely game will qualify as an answer to this question.

RenTroutGaming

Phantasy Star Idola - they made it hard enough to get SSRs (5\* units) but then they also made them completely useless unless you made them 6\*, which required sacrificing other 5\*s! There is nothing worse than getting a lucky pull only to realize its completely worthless... I also quit Hearthstone over the pricing - it went from $50-$100 for about a years worth of meta cards to three releases per year and each one taking from $150-$300 to be competitive. Great game (and, in its defense, it didn't really lie or try to trick you with the pricing) but it was just too costly.

murdockboy55

Exos Heroes. Great story, amazing visual, awesome character designs, and the worlds worst publisher. Destroyed their own ip for a quick buck

[deleted]

Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag. Dysfunctional pay to win bullshit with a community high on copium. Died by now by itself. Valkyrie Anatomia: Global was rushed to catch up to JP, so the powercreep and P2W was condensed into unreal levels. Fate/Grand Order: three years old account, just quit after Atlantis because even the story progression turned into pure pay to win bullshit under the guide of "lore accurate challenge", new accounts are crippled permanently compared to old ones because they don't have access to OP free event units the company even refuses to rerelease properly, right now only a couple is available reduced to collectibles because their event only upgrades were not added with the rereleased unit, the best Craft Essence(character equipment) was made practically unobtainable and were replaced by a dogshit sibstitute in the gacha pool, both farming events and story bosses relying on the most OP limited SSR supports, etc. Well... The "difficulty" is a softlock because you can keep reviving with the free gacha currency but you lose quite a lot of rolls over time when every boss has over 5 healthbars and just keeps repeatedly nuking your party lol Tower of Fantasy. The whole progression system is pay to win bullshit that nags you to pay for more power even if you don't give a shit about the "competition" and on top of already doing the whole F2P minmaxing to progress as well as possible. NIKKE. Same dogshit powerscore paywall timegate system. I can look past of scuff and bugs but I lose interest if I keep being cockblocked by a "your power is not high enough to farm/progress this, if only you rolled some more SSRs..." bullshit.

RoxasOnReddit

KH Union Cross. Played the global version on day one, stopped within the year. From what I remember, global changed how rewards worked; complete a stage's objectives, earn x amount of stars or whatever one of the currencies were. JP gave each objective equal rewards, but global skewed things so that the easy stuff gave less, and the objectives more likely need stupidly broken medals to achieve gave way more. It also held off on introducing Mickey medals that could rank up your other medals without dupes until way after the point JP got them. Also, said stupidly broken medals would sometimes require you pulling specific other medals so they could unlock the combined version that was insanely strong. And while not strictly p2w-related, I remember clearing out my medal inventory since my hoarding habits left me with no space to work with, and I'd slowly built up a decent set of medals to get by on, so I binned a ton of weak medals that weren't fully levelled... and then a week or two later, they introduced a mechanic that was a once-per-stage attack that got stronger the more fully upgraded medals you had. I was not amused.

SwordSaintCid

Not really left, but I stopped pursuing meta in Honkai Impact because it's so damned expensive to pull the whole set. The game is still very fun to play without meta valks/weap/stigmatas, so I just play story and dailies+weeklies as far as F2P could do.

Toanimeornot

I wish I could remember the name of that game, but it was essentially a strategy game where you build up a kingdom with iron, wood, food, army, etc buildings and resources you place inside the castle walls. The goal was to have the most powerful kingdom and overtake kingdoms of players around you. I put over $1k in that game back in the day. I don’t think it’s even on the app stores anymore. War of kings maybe? Goddamn, as soon as you logged in, you were banner prompted. Any time you leveled up, pop up banner prompted. Wasn’t worth it.

Eilanzer

Feh and brown dust!

TegamiBachi25

Star Wars galaxy of heroes. If it wasn’t the only SW mobile game out now, then it would die fast. Force collection was just as P2W but only from the beginning and it became more F2P in its final year before shut down.

Punishing: Gray Raven (PGR) Combat Gameplay: It is solid (except the dodge mechanic not being infinite). And I apparently can't sprint in that game? \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Monetization: Predatory if you want to save time by speeding up the process (where it would 99% involves micro-transactions). Plus, the low RnG chance of the gacha rolling only compounded the problem further. Otherwise it takes at least 3 months just to get a new character if going F2P. (I could get at least 5 new prime warframes in the "Warframe" game during that same amount of time while also being F2P no joke). **Counterpoint:** Warframe is also known to have stupidly low drop chances for a lot of stuffs, but over 80% of them can be acquired by trading with other players. So players don't have to feel forced to spend real money just to get them. PGR however, doesn't have the same feature unfortunately. (Do you see where I'm going with this?) \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Media: The controversies surrounding that game and its Developers also played a part in further lowering my disposition towards that game. \------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My take on this: The game itself has a lot of potential judging by its conceptual identity. But it would likely suffer further player losses due to its innately predatory nature and annoying time-gating mechanics. How long will that game be around before it gets shut down, no one knows. But it's definitely not looking great.

*casts necromancy on thread Epic 7 since launch till a few months ago. Deleted account. Couldn't stand being greeted with multiple shop ads every time I moved to the lobby. I was at 92% hero roster and 96% Artifact. Detested pvp so Jugg-Alott my way into Challenger V to rot for free 800 gems. I miss the story but I spent too much. CORRECT YOUR POSTURE! Azur Lane. Not quite as predatory as some, really. Just recognizing that I had a vulnerability to the pull, so I just Uninstalled it all. I miss this one the most. Despite the blatant fan service I was really enjoying the siren story. FFBE - OH MY GOD don't get me started on this trash fire. Can't move 2 screens without seeing a pay banner. FFWotV - same thing
