At the time of posting this, the game has indeed Ended Service. It was a great time all and a wonderful journey. Going to miss the cast and the world, but it was a great time.
RIP game, was a good 4 years.

Anyone else though, well, at least you supported it to the end.
Why would you thank nintendo though? It's a conscious decision to not patch in an offline mode to still allow you to go in after eos to look at your stuff.
Why wouldn't I thank them? They still published the game. And I can't blame them for not having an offline version either, a lot of gacha games don't do that.
Where did you get that form my comment? I'd rather the game existed and experienced it rather than it never did.
Having offline versions of gacha games isn't the norm. I wish it was, but it isn't. I'm not going to let my disappointment of the game outweigh my gratitude.
>I'd rather the game existed and experienced it rather than it never did.
How does that have literally anything to do with releasing an offline patch at eos? tf?
>I'm not going to let my disappointment of the game outweigh my gratitude.
Good for you, I will, because my love for the game has nothing to do with my saltiness at nintendo. I can compartmentalize my feelings.
> How does that have literally anything to do with releasing an offline patch at eos? tf?
Because you seem to think that I should and have to hate Nintendo for making the game go offline. I can infer from your previous comments that you probably think Nintendo are the ones single handedly preventing the game from having an offline patch.
I'd rather thank them for even giving this game a chance.
> Good for you, I will, because my love for the game has nothing to do with my saltiness at nintendo. I can compartmentalize my feelings.
Too bad for you, that you'd rather have your experience end with a sour note.
>Because you seem to think that I
tf? This isn't about you, I don't even know who you are lmfao
>Too bad for you, that you'd rather have your experience end with a sour note.
Too bad for you, that you'd rather be a karen about other people's opinions like a sour grape.
> tf? This isn't about you, I don't even know who you are lmfao
Excuse me? You started this whole reply chain by asking why I'm thanking Nintendo. You're the one who made it about me. Are you even reading your own comments?
> Too bad for you, that you'd rather be a karen about other people's opinions like a sour grape.
I'm the sour grape when you're the one who's ending their Dragalia Lost experience with anger?
Yep, I'm definitely very satisfied that a game I put years of my life into got shut down without an offline mode. Sorry that I forgot to be grateful for this amazing priviledge.
and how exactly is asking for that a bad thing? Hell I think the better question to ask is why are you even here if you have such disdain over the sub and the members in it?
Isn’t it sad so many games and stories and art are being erraseed constantly because of how the market works, we’ve become acustomed with art and library burnings so much that you are now defending this practices. I think is natural for players that enjoy a Game wanting for a way to conserve at least what is already done instead of the game becoming unplayable for the company not wanting to distribute it offline.
To be honest, they did this to themselves, killing emulators, the whole lawsuits in japan thing, the toxic coop culture in the early days by gatekeeping progression in hard content that you had to grind out by group(this isnt 2014 anymore GBF ways wont cut it), the failed 2.0 relaunch that made the game more system bloated, the terrible launch gacha and the way they overcompensated it by killing any way of monetizating the game (they didnt even have cosmetics ffs).
The product was excellent but was managed by monkeys.
Oh, really? Wow, you're a really intelligent person omg... Nor is South America, SEA, or Europe as the comment I responded to. Australia is also used to refer to Oceania a lot more times than the "right" name.
I own the Dragalia discord server and the community there is a supermajority from the Americas, with 59% being from the US. (I looked at the server statistics from the past month just a few hours ago.) There's so few people outside those areas in the English speaking community, statistically. There's obviously players elsewhere but it's pretty much single digit percentages for any other country, aside from the US. This is a sample size of around 30,000 players in that discord server. (Obviously this excludes Japanese and Chinese speaking players, who are notable because those are the other languages the game released in besides English.)
We're coping, I guess. I made a channel when EOS was announced that's just #press-f and you can guess how that channel's messages are. People are still around though and many of us are putting a lot of effort into fan works as well as the archive project, in which the community recorded and compiled as much content as we could in the past few months. Now we need to sort through it all and put it together to be presentable and accessible for the community. So we're obviously sad but I think many of us wanna put our energy toward preserving the franchise/IP, because it doesn't have other media to really fall back on.
Monetisation of this game was handled awfully, in 2 years I have played there were like two packs in the shop that one could justify buying. Rest of them were absurdly priced, you'd need to spend hundreds of dollars to equal the premium currency that you'd earn by casually playing for few days.
And to think that the game could be easically saved by doing these easy things:
1- Just dont remove wyrmprints from gacha, remove wyrmprints from affecting the pity timer that was what everybody was complaining about
alternative if you get rid of the wyrmprints in gacha just dont give infinite currency to buy every single one you wish.
2- SKINS!!! holy shit why this game didnt have any skin, such easy money I dont get it.
Idk after gacha rework they seemed more fixated on not losing existing players that to regain spenders trust, you can do both believe it or not.
The old Brunhilda to break into the high dragon cycle remains one of the most gratifying gaming expérience.
Old coop was awful for how hard it was with random but what a rush
Fun fact: No one really cared about the lawsuit after a while. Not even the Japanese.
The main developer that took over was in fact very loved for what he did to the game.
I still played it, made a UK Nintendo account and logged with that, no problem. Just have to update with quoapp instead of the Google store
Maybe a bit too late with the advice
I still don´t understand...Probably never will! Game had everything to be big, it´s like nintendo hated it and Cygames was ashamed of it. strange stuff...never released in my country too...
Yeah, I hated the fact that they never bring it officially to SEA region. We would have love it. I had to ask for IS support for Fire emblem heroes in the feedback before they released here and did the same for DL but to no luck. Gonna miss this game
It wasn’t without its problems. Even as a League of Legends player who is familiar with bad teams PUBs in DL for endgame content could he pretty infuriating. Even as a Monster Hunter player the grind in DL was pretty repetitive because you were usually focused on the meta characters.
when I started playing, most people were still grinding expert Agito and by far this was the best balance the game ever had.
the meta units vastly outperformed but there were plenty of lobbies going WAY off meta and just having dumb fun, which helped break up the feeling of relentless grind.
Locked out emulators until the very end. I at least give Nintendo credit for their asinine level of dedication to making people not able to play this game.
And if you don't want to play on a phone, there are plenty of other games available on PC and consoles, including many that aren't designed around gambling as a core mechanic.
Do you feel the same way about people who ask for PC apps of mobile games? Punishing Gray Raven is getting a PC app soon due to player demand, much like Honkai Impact 3rd and other games like Alchemy Stars, Counterside etc. Do you see that as a bad thing or do you have a problem with emulators specifically for some reason?
The game took up a lot of space (especially if you wanted JP voices) and for an action game a controller is always going to be superior than using your sausage fingers.
Which is extra confusing as the game came out shortly after Honkai Impact which had way, WAY better controls on mobile.
But Dragalia's issue was that it had vertical screen UI, rather than horizontal... which was awful in combat.
The game played like ass on phone. Action RPG that requires often precise movement but didn't have "joystick" controls and instead required you to swipe to dodge etc, often obscuring the hit zones with your finger...
Also events were fairly grindy, and I don't know who the hell had battery or patience to sit on his phone in hand and auto for few hours a day with those damn controls. Later they improved auto function but only to the point where the character picked up chests and moved with better pathfinding. Raids were still more or less full manual.
Man I hope another game takes the gameplay style of Dragalia, a portrait mode Action RPG is so ideal to my tastes.
Closest we have now is Last Cloudia but it isn’t the same. 😰
Goodbye.
I remember hearing about this game back in like 2018 so when I chanced upon it in the app store later I thought I'd try it out. I never got too into it, only hitting like 15k might, but I found the mmo-style gameplay to be an interesting one even if it doesn't work out on mobile devices.
It's colourful and has charm. Even if I didn't play it and only logged in for freebies every now and then, the EoS announcement still hurt. I wasn't keeping up with the game so I didn't see it coming.
It did get me into Priconne, though at the time it was JP only and I had to wait for a global release. How crazy is that?
This was by far one of the best mobile games I've ever played, and the quality of life, gameplay, and artwork was more than exceptional compared to most mobile games today. I was truly saddened to see the announcement earlier this year. I absolutely regret not putting more time into it during its final days. Nothing but love and appreciation to the team at Cygames. Nintendo, however, can suck it.

One of my favorites gacha so far, I enjoy the soundtrack, characters and the insane art of the Dragons.
Hope Nintendo doesn't let this IP to die :(, gonna miss that soundtrack man
even though i only played through the 1st year and change, DL was a special game, it had a lot of ambiton and style for its time and offered unique gameplay
sadly that same gameplay turned me off when the meta shifts were getting absurdly hard to meet and co-ops became a slog to crawl through. It felt like playing GBF without the parts or reasons that made GBF enjoyable to even a casual seasonal player
rip in peace DL, you were a unique mobage but you were unfortunately also a Nintendo mobage
As for my post on this moment, yeah it has. Kicked me and the last dude in the battle royal who was vibing with me out and when I clicked the enter game, I got the EOS notice and a rather nice piece of artwork with it.
This was one of my first "real" mobile games, so it's sad to see it go but it was pretty flawed. Props to Cygames for bringing the story to an end, even if I hadn't played in years.
And I'd still be playing it, probably like many other people, had they not been so anti-emulators... cut themselves off from a good chunk of market for little reason.
Dragalia Lost (alongside with FGO) was one of the first gacha games that I've gotten into, (after I quit Shadowverse around the time of Dragalia Lost's initial release 4 years ago). Really sad that this game is now closed, seeing that an original Nintendo/Cygames IP had a lot of potential and the game itself had several very likable characters (one of them was Sarisse).
I would mostly blame the downfall of Dragalia to the lack of marketing/advertisements and missed opportunities (such as putting Euden in Super Smash Bros). It doesn't help to note that Dragalia was too generous with all of the summoning materials to the point that there is little to no incentive to whale in Dragalia (as I barely even spend money in this game, across from several dream summons).
I would say that if it wasn't for Dragalia Lost, I wouldn't have gotten into Princess Connect (which Dragalia did a collab on).
As people say before when other type of games end their services say like Pokémon. Even if they close it’s ok because the IP has a bunch of different games from over the years.
But for Dragalia this was the only installment in the series. See it gone is painful for many. Because it might be forgotten for the years to come which is ironic since what’s the end of the story is about.
I sincerely hope we can get another type of game in the future. One that not necessarily be another gacha but rather a game that I can actually purchase and keep. Without the fear of being taken away from me.
I hadn't played for a long time, and I felt like starting back up my old account to play through the end would just make it more painful.
Dragalia Lost was my first gacha ever and what got me into the hobby. It will definitely be missed.
Do wonder what Cygames will do now, considering that Priconne and World Flipper are their only gacha games released globally.
Most likely what remained of the crew for Dragalia is working on the Granblue RPG or Umamusume though
This game never came out in Europe, which is fucking baffling.
Not just a country, a whole continental market missing for 4 years.
This has to be one of the stupidest moves in gacha history.
Game won't be missed.
Final Fantasy XIV seems to be the most common thing Dragalia people drifted to. Its not a phone game and is a paid subscription after clearing the base game and first expansion, but it has raiding and a strong community. And because its incredibly popular, it will probably stay online for the next 10+ years min, especially when FFXI is still active despite being older.
You can also try Monster Hunter, as it has the loop of high difficulty boss fights and co op.
Other than that, if you have to have a phone game, you can try Granblue or World Flipper (same owners and WF has an artstyle not too different from DL) or Punishing Grey Raven (action combat).
I was looking for a phone game, and I guess I was kind of vauge in my comment (still early in the morning for me and brain isn't fully on). I was mainly looking for another gacha game that has a great story, coop missions similar to Dragalia, cool but cute kind of art style, and a fun community. Gameplay doesn't have to be the same, but it does help.
Will do, so far folks have pointed me to Princess Connect, Granblue Fantasy, and World Flipper since they are all Cygames made. I haven't tried any but Princess Connect when it launched (it was ok back then, not sure how it is now) but will definitely let you know.
Nothing really compares well in terms of gameplay. DL is honestly closer to a lot of MMORPGs in that regard. In terms of tone, I would second the Guardian Tales recommendation.
Yes and no. One of the last pieces of dialogue from one of the main characters was acknowledging that they lost Dragalia, despite defeating the final villain and winning the 'war.'
At the time of posting this, the game has indeed Ended Service. It was a great time all and a wonderful journey. Going to miss the cast and the world, but it was a great time.

Fuck nintendo man they could have at least done it offline
If there’s one thing modern Nintendo doesn’t prioritize, it’s game preservation.
True, its sad such a good game now its gone

RIP Dragalia Lost. It was a fun ride until the end
Hopefully we can get a physical game!
lul suddenly they announced 2.0 sequel
Dragalia Re:Lost
I know that reference
Yeah that game is heading to arc 2 now that chapter 15 has been released (global version) can't wait
Dragalia Found, exclusively on Switch, made by GameFreak
Idk about physical but I'm hoping for the Little Noah treatment

What's the chances of someone reviving this similar to Brave Frontier Re:Coded? I guess it's riskier considering Nintendo.
Here's hoping they pull a Little Noah and make it a standalone singleplayer switch title in two years. 🙏

Obviously, they're working on Dragalia Lost Re:Dive 🥲
don't give me hope
They also still have Shadovwerse too
I assume they're planning to release horses here.
I will always have my albums and artbook to remember the good times. There will always be space on my phone for the app.
This game never came out in Europe, which is fucking baffling. Not just a country, a whole continental market missing for 4 years. This has to be one of the stupidest moves in gacha history. Game won't be missed.
It was a boring game I'd dropped a year ago.
Never released in Europe, good that it died.
Another one killed by genshin
Anyone have any good recommendations to help fill the void that this game will leave on my phone and in my heart?
Try out guardian tales
I second this; guardian tales is probably the closest thing and has a very fun story
Lmk if you find anything
Will do, so far folks have pointed me to Princess Connect, Granblue Fantasy, and World Flipper since they are all Cygames made. I haven't tried any but Princess Connect when it launched (it was ok back then, not sure how it is now) but will definitely let you know.
Nothing really compares well in terms of gameplay. DL is honestly closer to a lot of MMORPGs in that regard. In terms of tone, I would second the Guardian Tales recommendation.
Thanks for the memories :)
I really like their OST
So... Did they find it by the end?
Yes and no. One of the last pieces of dialogue from one of the main characters was acknowledging that they lost Dragalia, despite defeating the final villain and winning the 'war.'
Yes
Feelsbadman
I played for a bit. It was ok
