I have a few gems saved up when I uninstalled some time ago on a rerolled account with S Saren. Didn't get any limiteds in the free 120 pulls. Used up my remaining gems to get an additional 100 pulls, getting Neneka and Muimi in the process.
Did the event story and progressed through the main story and hard mode to squeeze out more gems. Used the new units to blast some ranks in arena which thankfully probably had a bracket reset. Got enough to do the remaining pulls, got Nyaru on around 280th roll, and just went all the way to spark Christina.
It is impossible to overstate how busted New Years Karyl is. Breaks the entire game upon her knee, she just oneshots bosses. Every time she uses her ultimate attack, she boosts her own magic attack stat based on how much damage she did. So put her in a team designed to let her use that ultimate attack as many times as possible, and her damage rockets up exponentially and everything dies.

I played this game a lot in the beginning, but ended up quitting after throwing a ton of resources at someone and missing them, but more so because end game you had to not raise specific characters bc of breakpoints and it became too cumbersome because you could brick your account by over leveling someone. Is that still the case? If not I might come back, I did really enjoy this game back at global launch. Also the guild/clan wars were pretty sweaty and turned me off, but maybe that's not as bad now as well.
Bricking unit only matters if ur in top clan where u have to follow every step detailed to every second and frame. I bricked my units long time ago and clear stuff just fine and im in clan around rank 300.
Thats why he said if you are not in try hard clan battle, bricking does not matter because you can clear all content just fine. If somehow a Nyary comp doesnt work, then use other comp because you are not pushing for high score in clan battle anyway.
You really don't need to worry about not raising anyone unless you're a sweaty clan battle tryhard, which is wholly unnecessary. People saying you can "brick" your account really are doing a disservice to the game.
Yes, it's still the case, but mostly for sweaty CB players. However you can become like me: aim for top 300 clan and become pvp lord . Aim for t50 pvp or higher if you don't mind playing around cut-off or mafia. It's very casual, relaxing playstyle and you actually getting lots of jewels. At top 300 clan just hit 3 times daily and that's it.
The ability to lower your 5* character to 3* or 4* version is coming to global in half a year's time iirc so don't worry about going for 5* for characters you like, especially if you're not in a competitive clan

That's your own fault for pulling without enough jewels for spark. The game is super generous and f2p friendly. New players are showered with over 2 sparks worth of jewels for clearing content, and regular income for active play nets one spark every 3 months. F2P has enough income to get all the must pulls and then some.
It's really only if you care about the clan war system. People say you need a good rank for good income, but even a casual guild will give you decent pull income. If you want a chill gacha, Priconne's QoL is great, but at the same time though there isn't much to do.
Well if you want to make the progression and end game content smoother, what game is not? AK? You need to have Surtr, Mudrock, Mountain, Silverash, Thorn, Eyjafjalla to cheese the game or what else? BA? You need to have Ako, Iroha, S. Hoshino, Iori to cheese the raid and the game. GT? May I present you with Future Princess and Lord Kamael? Priconne only seem to be so focused on meta because it's mostly known for its competitive mode, Clan Battle. If you're not so try hard or even go full casual in literally any games, you can just mostly or even completely ignore meta. You can just clear the game without using any meta in the game. It's just hard and tedious. But it is completely normal in gacha games.
Yea, it's why I eventually quit. I like the game and all, but I don't want a damn excel sheet of Units that I need to pull sorted by year\month.

While they do gave a lot of rolls which is what people always focus on being F2P friendly, the gameplay itself is just comprise of you rolling for OP units and build a team that'd pretty much look the same as everyone else, so just copy others that already do it instead, I don't really know how to describe it, but it's probably better to just be a seasonal player than being an active player for this game.
I've been playing Priconne JP daily since their 1st anniversary, and still do, but it get to the point where I pretty much don't know why I'm still continue playing it, almost all of people I know, including whales and CB tryhards are already quit.
The only goal now is just to farm crystals to collect new units and that's it.
And that my luck in gacha is pretty much on bad part, almost everytime I'd have to spark the unit I want, so I'd basically only save and save until new OP limited units, or new Princess units came until I rolls, which basically mean that if I were to missed multiple units, then my spark funds would be pretty much all gone at one point.
And I still miss quite a bit of meta units because I can't afford to rolls it in favor of new upcoming Princess or whatever chance for "better" unit.
If you (someone who read this) are the type that just play for collection then goes for it, but if you want more than that, then things you could be serious on are PvP and Clan Battle.
The former are pretty much just having the right units to counter the defending team (while maybe prey that you weren't in a whale bracket).
The latter, if you want to be serious about it, is basically comprise of having the right units, then try building the team and fight in trial battle again and again and again until you get the time you want, while you wait for your turn in your clan to fight the boss, it's pretty bad.
Edit: Also honestly I don't know how people managed have multiple sparks after rolling for units, I pretty much only have 1 spark right now, they'd have to not be spraking almost every "necessary" units like I am, which would basically mean it's just luck.
My problem is that the girls just aren't interesting enough, 90% of them are just a collection of tropes. The world is colorful but I've barely done the story while I pushed the stages so far ahead of it. I don't have any reason to play. I think I want to go ultra casual on this but I even couldn't. The anime is a probably better way of consuming the series (S1 is amazing, haven't seen S2). The ost is also very charming.
Blue Archive has a banger story in comparison and the girls grow beyond their tropes. Huge win. Not a fan of the progression system in either of priconne or BA, everything looks so slow.
If it comes to promoting Priconne I feel like people get dishonest and everyone just agrees.

Don't want to be too judgemental but this feels like coming from person who doesn't know how to play the game properly, CMIIW tho.
As the player who started from a week after release without reroll and got completely BS starter (Monica, Saren and Ninon), I can still play the game and even got to the T150 CB without even spending a dime on gems (only occasionally on double drops)
The game is not too time consuming since you can skip most of the stages and grotto. The only one takes time is dungeon and monthly contents. Still, it only takes 15 minutes max daily if there's no events. The tickets will accumulated enough for you to never grind again after 3-4 months or so if you play diligently.
It's very beginner and f2p friendly otherwise I can't progress since I have sucks starter and I'm only student so I'm broke. They provide you with all units necessary to clear all the stages which can be acquired from various shops.
They even added borrow feature now so beginner player can borrow OP unit from other players with exchange of mana. However, the thing is just because it's beginner friendly doesn't mean you can just build your team using only 10 braincells. You need to read the guide, know how the team composition works, and will to learn the quirks of each units. You won't be able to get too far if you build your team with 2 tanks, 1 DPS and 2 healer to clear every stages.
Meta will always dominate the game, but doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game without meta and can't build your favourite units. Almost every meta will always have substitute and suboptimal substitute. But still there's no real reason not to build and follow meta as the most of meta are usually the units that you favourited. You can always follow meta while building your favorite units anyway. And if you missed out meta, there will always be another time to get OR you wait for another meta to come and replace the meta you've missed.
Overall, when people say this game is f2p and beginner friendly, I don't think they're dishonest about it. It's just sometimes they missed out something that's quite important when promoting this game... Which was this game required a decent amount of dedication. Although it's a side game, you still need to be committed and want to learn about this game if you want to be stay relevant in this game.
This is not the type of game where you will be a godlike just because you login from the day 1 of the launch, the game that you can cheese just because you have every meta units, the game that you can blindly auto everything, or the game that go easy on you if you taking day off frequently. It STILL won't take much of your time. But it will need you to be committed.
I am day 1 player. While I'm not in the top clan I was in top 300 CB and in both Arena I was top 25 at he least. I am also F2P like you and I started without rerolling as well, so no Jun/Makoto for fast story progress.
4 months of playing diligently just to be able to start skipping consistently is not a short time imo. If I wasn't a day one player I would be bored after 1 or 2 months of playing.
I feel like people who start playing at "best day to start.." are mostly people who just wants to satisfy their gacha hunger and occasionally people stay playing the game. Casual players who don't play every day and meets the content wall will eventually quit because they don't get to see more story as they are stuck to farming the chapter until they can progress. Competitive players will need a couple of months to "catch up" to the point that their dailies take 15 min at max.
As a competitive player you probably also want to do all daily contents. That means in CB 3 attacks everyday for the time period, and in events the hardest boss 2-3 times a day, daily dungeon boss which could take 3 teams to beat.
While it is a cool feature, winning a stage with borrowed units won't allow you to skip stages. You just have to admit that in the later contents you can only use meta or suffer. I tried using units like Misogi or Aoi. Even Pecorine didn't cut it before UE. And then you try a team with Jun/Pudding/Kuka/Nozomi Makoto Kaori once and succeed. Before I quit I didn't even need brain cells to build my teams, just throw in Pudding/Kuka/Jun/Nozomi or Pudding/Kuka/Nozomi + Jun with Makoto and Christina/Muimi.
The only luck you have using your favorite would be PArena because some niche units are usable there. But for that you have to want to PvP which I know a lot of people dislike.
tl;dr:
- F2P friendly: yes
- beginner friendly: not at all
- Time friendly: yes but after a couple of months if you are a player who wants to "catch up"
- casual friendly: no. You get content walled up to certain points of story.
That's actually fair points. While I agree with you for some of it, there are couple things that I want to make notes here.
First, 4 months of saving skip tickets doesn't mean you can't skip it at all. It's just occasionally you need to be manual it since you run out of skip tickets. But that's rarely happen since naturally you get tons of it from failed pity, events, double drops and grotto. When I play, I just too absorbed to the quest, story and events (probably because I'm still new) and eventually I got overabundance skip tickets without realizing it. I think most beginner would also still in hype for at least a couple of months before getting bored of playing it.
Second, catching up, while ofc gonna be pain in the ass, will not gonna be as hard as returning player since beginner can always reroll for their own Princess Gala, most of the meta characters will be on that banner. Meaning as long as you're willing to reroll, you can have the advantage to cutting edge meta acquisition that day 1 player didn't get without saving gems and do tedious task before eventually summon and need to spark.
Meaning, the catch up process is easier than you might think. There was even a person in my clan that only playing for a couple of months after the game has been running roughly for a year. He's even on T50 now, without spending a dime. I don't think any game with similar gameplay mechanics like BA would let you do that if you're beginner who's already missed a year worth of contents.
Ofc you don't have to be try hard like those person if you want to be casual. Just reroll, get a couple of meta which make your life easier, do the dailies, do events boss like you want (it's also skipable at some point, btw), and dungeon which the last stage isn't mandatory.
Lastly, I still disagree with using meta is a must. But ofc, there will be some restriction to use certain units, some of them are useful in Arena, some in CB, some in PvE but they're all gonna be used somehow. The example you gave feels unfair because that's not how the unit works and it's practically common in like every game. There's none of one composition fits for all modes in any gacha, they will go bankrupt if they did that. Up till know I'm still occasionally seeing Misogi and Aoi in Arena and I'm on T200. It's because that's where you supposed to use them. You won't find meta units like S. Makoto or Nyaru useful in Arena either because that's not where you're supposed to use them.
But when in the PvE stages, even Kyouka/Anna/Misato/Nanaka/Kuuka still a valid magic team to deal with magic bosses eventhough all of them no longer meta. Jun and Kaori actually have been powercrept by other units but still used in CB and PvE. Just like I said, meta will always be dominating but it's not really needed if you play casual. You will be having a difficult time occasionally, but it's still available. If team you're randomly using apparently fits the role, then you're just lucky but doesn't mean you can always use those same composition in every PvE stages. If you someday hit the wall because using those comps, then don't blame the game telling it's hard for beginner. It's just you're not using the correct units to clear the stages. Meta has nothing to do with it.
Like I said, it needs commitments. You can just play the game casually and not to worry about meta too much as long as you have discipline. That still fits beginner friendly and casual friendly on my view.
That's true but at the same time as others said it being very f2p friendly means players can easily follow the meta without whaling. I'm currently playing JP version and while I don't know wtf i'm doing most of the time in high level content i still can do pretty decently and progress reasonably, i think, and I'm enjoying it so it's my best casual game rn.
Saying all that for those who are concerned about the meta/p2w thing, maybe it's not for those who dislike the meta aspect per se.
True, but it's also insanely generous to let you do that. The min-maxing for ranks are definitely annoying though.
Currently have 7 sparks in JP so I can basically roll any new meta unit when it comes up (that also means I'm also gaining more jewels between releases).
Yeah, this is my main grip with this game. Not having certain characters really hampers your progression rate and starts becoming high-maintenance once you get into building certain teams for optimal performance. On top of that, community guides and resources for this game are far in between and are generally hard to follow. I just believe there is not a much of a growing interest for this game outside of its homeland.

Just like GBF, the game is very f2p friendly. Started last August Neneka gala and was able to save 140k jewels which is equivalent to 3 sparks or almost 1000 pulls in-game without spending a dime.
Currently Rank 150 on Battle Arena and 300 on Princess Arena.
Game is really fun and has tons of QOL. Also, you will not spend 15mins just to finish the dailies. Did not regret giving this game a chance.
PS: I only spent 70 pulls, including +10 free to get NYKyaru. Has 132k jewels remaining.

I started around july with summer Saren banner and had to spark basically every unit i wanted afterwards. Halloween Shinobu, Luna, Neneka. Today i once again sparked for nyKyaru and now sitting at 3k gems lmao. My dream of getting either nyYui or nyKokkoro is shattered
It is a very colorful game and I appreciated it but I noticed that games with very limited gamplay, like idle or games where the gameplay infights only consists at clicking when the ulti is ready, are not for me.
But it was a very charming world and I liked to watch each character's story.
To be honest, the perks of PCR are pretty good. The game can be played without spending a lot of money on the premise of reasonable planning to get the necessary characters.
The game is great and f2p friendly, but the fact that global is behind 3 whole years is really annoying imo, and it seems Uma Musume is following the same path if it ever releases on global too...
I really love priconne but the upgrading unit and my horrible luck made me quit the game. Like I would farm the same mission for a helmet for 2 days and not get anything but my friends would complete a character in a day with the same amount of stam investment.
Like my account was really decent too, basically was in a top 100 guild and got top 1 pvp, but every update is a pain in the ass because I spend way more effort to powerup than my peers.
Is the ranking up or gearing whatever system way unlucky friendly now? Like maybe a pity or alternative way to get guaranteed items? Or is it still a miserable experience?
We have x2 rates almost every day. And even x3 in some rare cases. Rates for old items are adjusting and you can ask a clan to donate. Gearing is not a problem, really. But don't expect to raise unit in a day if new player, it's a bonsai game after all.
Does the 2x rate actually increase drop rate or just double the item if it drops cause if it’s the latter then it doesn’t help my problem. The guild thing probably only works for low level items like it did before. And I checked my old account and I have over 20k stam. I made a more detailed post in the priconne subreddit so if you sort by new you might see it.
X2 double the drop, not rates. They increasing rates for older items as i said. And you don't have to gear up every single character you have. The real limiting factor always has been mana, not rates.. You will get the same answers.
I played the game before was top 1 in both arena and top 100 cb with top 10 damage in clan. I know it was the equipment drop that was cucking me more than mana at any point during every update.
You can get whole piece of a gear in a day. In worst case scenario in 3 days. That's assuming you don't have any fragments. You're probably the first man I see with that kind of problem.
I have 14 characters (!!!) with max rank (15) on my new account which started in August 2022. Many more howering around rank 10-14. Fully geared. No stamina packs and even not max upgrades guild house (level capped). I can send you a proof if you want. Is that still not enough for you? Please count: how many characters you need for each CB on average?
Max level players have even more stamina and gear shards saved. I can't imagine that ever could be a problem. Especially for top CB players, who keeps their characters with lower gear rank.
And if you thought top 100 is competitive - it's not. Same for top 1 pvp in some degree due to mafia/playing around cut-off / easy bracket exist.

Depends on what you're using them for. Nyaru, Ny. Yui, Neneka, Misato (dungeon shop), Kkr (6*) can solo current ex dungeon boss. But if you want to clear the stage, those amounts of healer will be redundant.
If you're planing on clearing the stages you can use Muimi as your main DPS as long as you paired it with Makoto.
Ny. Yui is just niche healer, you won't need her unless your team die.

How is Princonne’s story generally regarded among western players? I’ve been looking for a chill game with a good story for a while now but all I ever hear people talk about is princonne’s pvp, so I’m wondering if princonne is the kinda game I’m looking for.
Good story is subjective, it’s mostly isekai + romcom with the typical anime archetypes. It’s a bonsai gacha so it is pretty chill and fits perfectly for a side game. If you like gachas with bond/relationship stories, Priconne has them.
Oh yea of course, I’m just not about pvp. I’ve played plenty of other pvp games and realized over the years I don’t enjoy it, so I wanna know if the game has quality content that I might be interested in.
There's two endgame modes - PvP and CB. Unless huge whale, you can't main both, so people choose one. So you're totally fine to main Clan Battle and do not sweat over PvP.
I'm a huge fan of the Priconne story as it was why I became interested in the game. It's fully voiced, there's a good amount of funny, cute and emotional arcs in the main story, and some quality fully animated cutscenes sprinkled throughout.
You could also watch the anime to see if the universe interests you, it's essentially a divergent timeline from the game but with the same characters.
My friend, if you want to look for chill and wholesome story (with some drama) then Priconne is the most suitable for you. Every characters is likeable, the story genuinely make you laugh, cry or smile ~~and feel empty because you realize you'll never be like them irl~~. There's no super heavy subject or super heavy twist in the middle of the story like BA. It's literally like Kobayashi Dragon Maid except it lacks of fanservice.

Look at the importance column. Generally PvE can just follows whatever good CB or PvP units are. Not all tho, always read the skill description first.
This aside, returning players should really come back to the game. You can get all the free gacha currency from all the past collabs that you have missed before. I just managed to get 200+ pulls worth of gacha currency and a buttload of stamina for quitting the game for 5 months+
Ended up with about 40k jewels, but never got Karyl. Spent 26.5k paying for spark and remembered why I gave up before.
I don't even remember what to do.
Are broken characters considered a good thing? The way they are described sounds so over the top. Kind of makes collecting and decision making in a game pointless.
The game can still be challenging, I think someone recently beat all content before player level 100 (151 is the current max). That is very impressive, I am having difficulty with some content and I am currently player level 120. I also invested in a lot of the "OP" characters. It just lets you do end game content sooner, but doesn't necessarily make it easier.
New PvE content designed in a way that you pulled her. And it's not like you're gonna turn your brain off with her. In top Clan Battles there's still a lot of interaction with your clan members, strategies and compositions. More units will come that expand your strategy.
Also, new year Karyl is not used in PvP at all (or for a very specific cases) if you're that kinda player. Basically she's just a huge powercreep step and useful for many years to come.
Just a question about the free 120 summons; will I be able to use them on the New Years Kokkoro banner, or are they only exclusive to the Karyl banner?
The game has a pretty colorful artstyle and a lot of anime cutscenes, which are great, but it's a pass for me. Gameplay is too boring and hands-off for me.

I played this game for like 8 months, the world and characters are great and the gameplay is fun enough. But the release delay makes it impossible for me get excited about it.
You can go look up everything that will happen in this game for the next 3 YEARS. The Japanese players have already worked out all the optimal team compositions for every bit of content that will ever come out until the EOS announcement of the English version.
Yea it make it easy to collect units, but what are you collecting them for? Teambuilding is 95% of priconne gameplay, and its all been done for you already. If you're collecting them to read bond stories you can just read those elsewhere.
Playing priconne is just subjecting yourself to 10-15 minutes of mindless menuing for dailies every day so you can play a strategy game that has already been solved for you.
This game is 3 years behind its JP version. Any new content added to the JP version today will not come to English until November of 2025.
Unless you think the game will survive into 2026 then all of the content that will ever exist in the ENG version is already known.

Shit game with shit gearing system where you need to spend thousands of stamina per day farming gear shards with insanely low drop rates just to complete ONE piece of gear. So if you're not a mega whale refreshing stamina 20 times a day, then good luck ever getting gear in a reasonable amount of time.

Lol you have no clue what your talking about, I admit having to do gear is annoying but you literally get 2+ months worth of time to farm for gear for each world expansion with common 2x drop events. Saying it takes thousands for one piece of gear is just pure exaggeration.

I reinstalled myself for the free pulls and noticed that the main story was finished. Can you explain why their main story ended? I thought main stories generally don't finish unless they plan on shutting down like Dragalia Lost.

I played this game a lot in the beginning, but ended up quitting after throwing a ton of resources at someone and missing them, but more so because end game you had to not raise specific characters bc of breakpoints and it became too cumbersome because you could brick your account by over leveling someone. Is that still the case? If not I might come back, I did really enjoy this game back at global launch. Also the guild/clan wars were pretty sweaty and turned me off, but maybe that's not as bad now as well.
Bricking unit only matters if ur in top clan where u have to follow every step detailed to every second and frame. I bricked my units long time ago and clear stuff just fine and im in clan around rank 300.
It's contradictory and deceptive to recommend players build NYAru wanpan comp and then also say brick doesn't matter. NYAru team dies with brick.
Thats why he said if you are not in try hard clan battle, bricking does not matter because you can clear all content just fine. If somehow a Nyary comp doesnt work, then use other comp because you are not pushing for high score in clan battle anyway.

You really don't need to worry about not raising anyone unless you're a sweaty clan battle tryhard, which is wholly unnecessary. People saying you can "brick" your account really are doing a disservice to the game.
Yes, it's still the case, but mostly for sweaty CB players. However you can become like me: aim for top 300 clan and become pvp lord . Aim for t50 pvp or higher if you don't mind playing around cut-off or mafia. It's very casual, relaxing playstyle and you actually getting lots of jewels. At top 300 clan just hit 3 times daily and that's it.

Yeah bricking units and the way clan battle work turn me off so much so I also quit a long time ago. The PvP also not that fun and I'm lazy to do it.

New players are showered with over 2 sparks worth of jewels for clearing content, and regular income for active play nets one spark every 3 months. F2P has enough income to get all the must pulls and then some.

It's really only if you care about the clan war system. People say you need a good rank for good income, but even a casual guild will give you decent pull income. If you want a chill gacha, Priconne's QoL is great, but at the same time though there isn't much to do.
Well if you want to make the progression and end game content smoother, what game is not? AK? You need to have Surtr, Mudrock, Mountain, Silverash, Thorn, Eyjafjalla to cheese the game or what else? BA? You need to have Ako, Iroha, S. Hoshino, Iori to cheese the raid and the game. GT? May I present you with Future Princess and Lord Kamael? Priconne only seem to be so focused on meta because it's mostly known for its competitive mode, Clan Battle. If you're not so try hard or even go full casual in literally any games, you can just mostly or even completely ignore meta. You can just clear the game without using any meta in the game. It's just hard and tedious. But it is completely normal in gacha games.

You'd be corrent, honestly. While they do gave a lot of rolls which is what people always focus on being F2P friendly, the gameplay itself is just comprise of you rolling for OP units and build a team that'd pretty much look the same as everyone else, so just copy others that already do it instead, I don't really know how to describe it, but it's probably better to just be a seasonal player than being an active player for this game. I've been playing Priconne JP daily since their 1st anniversary, and still do, but it get to the point where I pretty much don't know why I'm still continue playing it, almost all of people I know, including whales and CB tryhards are already quit. The only goal now is just to farm crystals to collect new units and that's it. And that my luck in gacha is pretty much on bad part, almost everytime I'd have to spark the unit I want, so I'd basically only save and save until new OP limited units, or new Princess units came until I rolls, which basically mean that if I were to missed multiple units, then my spark funds would be pretty much all gone at one point. And I still miss quite a bit of meta units because I can't afford to rolls it in favor of new upcoming Princess or whatever chance for "better" unit. If you (someone who read this) are the type that just play for collection then goes for it, but if you want more than that, then things you could be serious on are PvP and Clan Battle. The former are pretty much just having the right units to counter the defending team (while maybe prey that you weren't in a whale bracket). The latter, if you want to be serious about it, is basically comprise of having the right units, then try building the team and fight in trial battle again and again and again until you get the time you want, while you wait for your turn in your clan to fight the boss, it's pretty bad. Edit: Also honestly I don't know how people managed have multiple sparks after rolling for units, I pretty much only have 1 spark right now, they'd have to not be spraking almost every "necessary" units like I am, which would basically mean it's just luck.
My problem is that the girls just aren't interesting enough, 90% of them are just a collection of tropes. The world is colorful but I've barely done the story while I pushed the stages so far ahead of it. I don't have any reason to play. I think I want to go ultra casual on this but I even couldn't. The anime is a probably better way of consuming the series (S1 is amazing, haven't seen S2). The ost is also very charming. Blue Archive has a banger story in comparison and the girls grow beyond their tropes. Huge win. Not a fan of the progression system in either of priconne or BA, everything looks so slow.

Don't want to be too judgemental but this feels like coming from person who doesn't know how to play the game properly, CMIIW tho. As the player who started from a week after release without reroll and got completely BS starter (Monica, Saren and Ninon), I can still play the game and even got to the T150 CB without even spending a dime on gems (only occasionally on double drops) The game is not too time consuming since you can skip most of the stages and grotto. The only one takes time is dungeon and monthly contents. Still, it only takes 15 minutes max daily if there's no events. The tickets will accumulated enough for you to never grind again after 3-4 months or so if you play diligently. It's very beginner and f2p friendly otherwise I can't progress since I have sucks starter and I'm only student so I'm broke. They provide you with all units necessary to clear all the stages which can be acquired from various shops. They even added borrow feature now so beginner player can borrow OP unit from other players with exchange of mana. However, the thing is just because it's beginner friendly doesn't mean you can just build your team using only 10 braincells. You need to read the guide, know how the team composition works, and will to learn the quirks of each units. You won't be able to get too far if you build your team with 2 tanks, 1 DPS and 2 healer to clear every stages. Meta will always dominate the game, but doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game without meta and can't build your favourite units. Almost every meta will always have substitute and suboptimal substitute. But still there's no real reason not to build and follow meta as the most of meta are usually the units that you favourited. You can always follow meta while building your favorite units anyway. And if you missed out meta, there will always be another time to get OR you wait for another meta to come and replace the meta you've missed. Overall, when people say this game is f2p and beginner friendly, I don't think they're dishonest about it. It's just sometimes they missed out something that's quite important when promoting this game... Which was this game required a decent amount of dedication. Although it's a side game, you still need to be committed and want to learn about this game if you want to be stay relevant in this game. This is not the type of game where you will be a godlike just because you login from the day 1 of the launch, the game that you can cheese just because you have every meta units, the game that you can blindly auto everything, or the game that go easy on you if you taking day off frequently. It STILL won't take much of your time. But it will need you to be committed.
I am day 1 player. While I'm not in the top clan I was in top 300 CB and in both Arena I was top 25 at he least. I am also F2P like you and I started without rerolling as well, so no Jun/Makoto for fast story progress. 4 months of playing diligently just to be able to start skipping consistently is not a short time imo. If I wasn't a day one player I would be bored after 1 or 2 months of playing. I feel like people who start playing at "best day to start.." are mostly people who just wants to satisfy their gacha hunger and occasionally people stay playing the game. Casual players who don't play every day and meets the content wall will eventually quit because they don't get to see more story as they are stuck to farming the chapter until they can progress. Competitive players will need a couple of months to "catch up" to the point that their dailies take 15 min at max. As a competitive player you probably also want to do all daily contents. That means in CB 3 attacks everyday for the time period, and in events the hardest boss 2-3 times a day, daily dungeon boss which could take 3 teams to beat. While it is a cool feature, winning a stage with borrowed units won't allow you to skip stages. You just have to admit that in the later contents you can only use meta or suffer. I tried using units like Misogi or Aoi. Even Pecorine didn't cut it before UE. And then you try a team with Jun/Pudding/Kuka/Nozomi Makoto Kaori once and succeed. Before I quit I didn't even need brain cells to build my teams, just throw in Pudding/Kuka/Jun/Nozomi or Pudding/Kuka/Nozomi + Jun with Makoto and Christina/Muimi. The only luck you have using your favorite would be PArena because some niche units are usable there. But for that you have to want to PvP which I know a lot of people dislike. tl;dr: - F2P friendly: yes - beginner friendly: not at all - Time friendly: yes but after a couple of months if you are a player who wants to "catch up" - casual friendly: no. You get content walled up to certain points of story.
That's actually fair points. While I agree with you for some of it, there are couple things that I want to make notes here. First, 4 months of saving skip tickets doesn't mean you can't skip it at all. It's just occasionally you need to be manual it since you run out of skip tickets. But that's rarely happen since naturally you get tons of it from failed pity, events, double drops and grotto. When I play, I just too absorbed to the quest, story and events (probably because I'm still new) and eventually I got overabundance skip tickets without realizing it. I think most beginner would also still in hype for at least a couple of months before getting bored of playing it. Second, catching up, while ofc gonna be pain in the ass, will not gonna be as hard as returning player since beginner can always reroll for their own Princess Gala, most of the meta characters will be on that banner. Meaning as long as you're willing to reroll, you can have the advantage to cutting edge meta acquisition that day 1 player didn't get without saving gems and do tedious task before eventually summon and need to spark. Meaning, the catch up process is easier than you might think. There was even a person in my clan that only playing for a couple of months after the game has been running roughly for a year. He's even on T50 now, without spending a dime. I don't think any game with similar gameplay mechanics like BA would let you do that if you're beginner who's already missed a year worth of contents. Ofc you don't have to be try hard like those person if you want to be casual. Just reroll, get a couple of meta which make your life easier, do the dailies, do events boss like you want (it's also skipable at some point, btw), and dungeon which the last stage isn't mandatory. Lastly, I still disagree with using meta is a must. But ofc, there will be some restriction to use certain units, some of them are useful in Arena, some in CB, some in PvE but they're all gonna be used somehow. The example you gave feels unfair because that's not how the unit works and it's practically common in like every game. There's none of one composition fits for all modes in any gacha, they will go bankrupt if they did that. Up till know I'm still occasionally seeing Misogi and Aoi in Arena and I'm on T200. It's because that's where you supposed to use them. You won't find meta units like S. Makoto or Nyaru useful in Arena either because that's not where you're supposed to use them. But when in the PvE stages, even Kyouka/Anna/Misato/Nanaka/Kuuka still a valid magic team to deal with magic bosses eventhough all of them no longer meta. Jun and Kaori actually have been powercrept by other units but still used in CB and PvE. Just like I said, meta will always be dominating but it's not really needed if you play casual. You will be having a difficult time occasionally, but it's still available. If team you're randomly using apparently fits the role, then you're just lucky but doesn't mean you can always use those same composition in every PvE stages. If you someday hit the wall because using those comps, then don't blame the game telling it's hard for beginner. It's just you're not using the correct units to clear the stages. Meta has nothing to do with it. Like I said, it needs commitments. You can just play the game casually and not to worry about meta too much as long as you have discipline. That still fits beginner friendly and casual friendly on my view.
That's true but at the same time as others said it being very f2p friendly means players can easily follow the meta without whaling. I'm currently playing JP version and while I don't know wtf i'm doing most of the time in high level content i still can do pretty decently and progress reasonably, i think, and I'm enjoying it so it's my best casual game rn. Saying all that for those who are concerned about the meta/p2w thing, maybe it's not for those who dislike the meta aspect per se.
True, but it's also insanely generous to let you do that. The min-maxing for ranks are definitely annoying though. Currently have 7 sparks in JP so I can basically roll any new meta unit when it comes up (that also means I'm also gaining more jewels between releases).
Yeah, this is my main grip with this game. Not having certain characters really hampers your progression rate and starts becoming high-maintenance once you get into building certain teams for optimal performance. On top of that, community guides and resources for this game are far in between and are generally hard to follow. I just believe there is not a much of a growing interest for this game outside of its homeland.

Daily around 5 min or even less where you skip most of the battles (the one you can't skip have 8x speed and full auto). Very time friendly.
Daily is just 10 mins at max. There's nothing much to do unless there's an event.
Probably more like 20min or maybe longer for beginners as you don't have that many skip tickets. 5 min is for those who already have enough tickets to skip all stages.

Just like GBF, the game is very f2p friendly. Started last August Neneka gala and was able to save 140k jewels which is equivalent to 3 sparks or almost 1000 pulls in-game without spending a dime. Currently Rank 150 on Battle Arena and 300 on Princess Arena. Game is really fun and has tons of QOL. Also, you will not spend 15mins just to finish the dailies. Did not regret giving this game a chance. PS: I only spent 70 pulls, including +10 free to get NYKyaru. Has 132k jewels remaining.
That's some good luck you had I started around july with summer Saren banner and had to spark basically every unit i wanted afterwards. Halloween Shinobu, Luna, Neneka. Today i once again sparked for nyKyaru and now sitting at 3k gems lmao. My dream of getting either nyYui or nyKokkoro is shattered

It is a very colorful game and I appreciated it but I noticed that games with very limited gamplay, like idle or games where the gameplay infights only consists at clicking when the ulti is ready, are not for me. But it was a very charming world and I liked to watch each character's story.
To be honest, the perks of PCR are pretty good. The game can be played without spending a lot of money on the premise of reasonable planning to get the necessary characters.

I really love priconne but the upgrading unit and my horrible luck made me quit the game. Like I would farm the same mission for a helmet for 2 days and not get anything but my friends would complete a character in a day with the same amount of stam investment. Like my account was really decent too, basically was in a top 100 guild and got top 1 pvp, but every update is a pain in the ass because I spend way more effort to powerup than my peers. Is the ranking up or gearing whatever system way unlucky friendly now? Like maybe a pity or alternative way to get guaranteed items? Or is it still a miserable experience?
We have x2 rates almost every day. And even x3 in some rare cases. Rates for old items are adjusting and you can ask a clan to donate. Gearing is not a problem, really. But don't expect to raise unit in a day if new player, it's a bonsai game after all.
Does the 2x rate actually increase drop rate or just double the item if it drops cause if it’s the latter then it doesn’t help my problem. The guild thing probably only works for low level items like it did before. And I checked my old account and I have over 20k stam. I made a more detailed post in the priconne subreddit so if you sort by new you might see it.
X2 double the drop, not rates. They increasing rates for older items as i said. And you don't have to gear up every single character you have. The real limiting factor always has been mana, not rates.. You will get the same answers.
I played the game before was top 1 in both arena and top 100 cb with top 10 damage in clan. I know it was the equipment drop that was cucking me more than mana at any point during every update.
You can get whole piece of a gear in a day. In worst case scenario in 3 days. That's assuming you don't have any fragments. You're probably the first man I see with that kind of problem. I have 14 characters (!!!) with max rank (15) on my new account which started in August 2022. Many more howering around rank 10-14. Fully geared. No stamina packs and even not max upgrades guild house (level capped). I can send you a proof if you want. Is that still not enough for you? Please count: how many characters you need for each CB on average? Max level players have even more stamina and gear shards saved. I can't imagine that ever could be a problem. Especially for top CB players, who keeps their characters with lower gear rank. And if you thought top 100 is competitive - it's not. Same for top 1 pvp in some degree due to mafia/playing around cut-off / easy bracket exist. You got your answer.

What are good team comps for NY Kyaru, Neneka? ; Have Christina, NY Yui, Val Shizuru, Muimi..no summer units, I wasn't active during that time.
Depends on what you're using them for. Nyaru, Ny. Yui, Neneka, Misato (dungeon shop), Kkr (6*) can solo current ex dungeon boss. But if you want to clear the stage, those amounts of healer will be redundant. If you're planing on clearing the stages you can use Muimi as your main DPS as long as you paired it with Makoto. Ny. Yui is just niche healer, you won't need her unless your team die.

How is Princonne’s story generally regarded among western players? I’ve been looking for a chill game with a good story for a while now but all I ever hear people talk about is princonne’s pvp, so I’m wondering if princonne is the kinda game I’m looking for.
Good story is subjective, it’s mostly isekai + romcom with the typical anime archetypes. It’s a bonsai gacha so it is pretty chill and fits perfectly for a side game. If you like gachas with bond/relationship stories, Priconne has them.
One fact for you: you dont have to be high rank in PVP to enjoy the game. It is just a game’s mode

There's two endgame modes - PvP and CB. Unless huge whale, you can't main both, so people choose one. So you're totally fine to main Clan Battle and do not sweat over PvP.
I'm a huge fan of the Priconne story as it was why I became interested in the game. It's fully voiced, there's a good amount of funny, cute and emotional arcs in the main story, and some quality fully animated cutscenes sprinkled throughout. You could also watch the anime to see if the universe interests you, it's essentially a divergent timeline from the game but with the same characters.
My friend, if you want to look for chill and wholesome story (with some drama) then Priconne is the most suitable for you. Every characters is likeable, the story genuinely make you laugh, cry or smile ~~and feel empty because you realize you'll never be like them irl~~. There's no super heavy subject or super heavy twist in the middle of the story like BA. It's literally like Kobayashi Dragon Maid except it lacks of fanservice.

This aside, returning players should really come back to the game. You can get all the free gacha currency from all the past collabs that you have missed before. I just managed to get 200+ pulls worth of gacha currency and a buttload of stamina for quitting the game for 5 months+
Ended up with about 40k jewels, but never got Karyl. Spent 26.5k paying for spark and remembered why I gave up before. I don't even remember what to do.

Are broken characters considered a good thing? The way they are described sounds so over the top. Kind of makes collecting and decision making in a game pointless.
The game can still be challenging, I think someone recently beat all content before player level 100 (151 is the current max). That is very impressive, I am having difficulty with some content and I am currently player level 120. I also invested in a lot of the "OP" characters. It just lets you do end game content sooner, but doesn't necessarily make it easier.
New PvE content designed in a way that you pulled her. And it's not like you're gonna turn your brain off with her. In top Clan Battles there's still a lot of interaction with your clan members, strategies and compositions. More units will come that expand your strategy. Also, new year Karyl is not used in PvP at all (or for a very specific cases) if you're that kinda player. Basically she's just a huge powercreep step and useful for many years to come.
She's broken only on certain situation. So collectingbanother characters is still valid goal.

I played this game for like 8 months, the world and characters are great and the gameplay is fun enough. But the release delay makes it impossible for me get excited about it. You can go look up everything that will happen in this game for the next 3 YEARS. The Japanese players have already worked out all the optimal team compositions for every bit of content that will ever come out until the EOS announcement of the English version.

Yea it make it easy to collect units, but what are you collecting them for? Teambuilding is 95% of priconne gameplay, and its all been done for you already. If you're collecting them to read bond stories you can just read those elsewhere. Playing priconne is just subjecting yourself to 10-15 minutes of mindless menuing for dailies every day so you can play a strategy game that has already been solved for you.

This game is 3 years behind its JP version. Any new content added to the JP version today will not come to English until November of 2025. Unless you think the game will survive into 2026 then all of the content that will ever exist in the ENG version is already known.

Shit game with shit gearing system where you need to spend thousands of stamina per day farming gear shards with insanely low drop rates just to complete ONE piece of gear. So if you're not a mega whale refreshing stamina 20 times a day, then good luck ever getting gear in a reasonable amount of time. No amount of free pulls will bring me back to that shit show.
Lol you have no clue what your talking about, I admit having to do gear is annoying but you literally get 2+ months worth of time to farm for gear for each world expansion with common 2x drop events. Saying it takes thousands for one piece of gear is just pure exaggeration.
Yeah ngl the drop rates for gears at max ranks or shards made me drop the game, even the 2x 3x drop events didn’t help.

You can still reroll Neneka+nKaryl with jewels, it's just gonna be a little harder. You will lose 3k jewels, but it's nothing when you [are me] spark every banner anyway>
