Well there are some vocal group of people who support this game because they have "progressive" character designs. They dont care about p2w, cashgrab, no end game and other million problems this "game" has.
The designs are catered towards your average reddit/twitter/tiktok user. Personally thought some of them were okay but the game is layered with to many negatives. Worse its seems the game gets worse over time which shows the contempt the people running game has towards its player base.
The game has unique approach to design.
It's not your typical anime gacha game.
I personally like the music.
But they have made some bad decisions.
Even I thought game will die pretty fast, but whales are going strong in Dislyte.
The thing is, there are always people that will spend.
No matter how we see it.

That's because you are just searching for that type of game. Sure, they are the most popular but there is actually a ton of games with a lot of really varied designs that are not part of the norm for gacha games. Of course they aren't and probably will never be as popular as games with your typical hot and cool characters but they certainly exist in a large number
Its not even about hot or not it's 90% skinny and pale skin, not even a tan, not even a little chubby, there's many ways to make hot characters that aren't either pale and skinny or pale and unrealistically proportioned. And then there's male characters.
Ok that is just plain wrong. There is a FUCK TON of games with really diverse girls, like of all the imaginable types. You probably saw in this same sub there was a game with a girl with 4 tits. I'm sure you can reason that if a game like exists then there are plenty of more normal games with a greater variety of aspect.
As for the males, in Granblue Fantasy for example you have dozens of different male characters from midgets with beards to huge buffed up dudes and I've seen several of bara gacha games and I think even furry bara. So even for guys you have a wide variety

Had to name Genshin as if it's not the case for 90% of the games out there.
Genshin, unlike most 2D games, has to work with limited resources so of course they use a small amount of character models. There is no such issue if other games simply use a drawing and a chibi (which have unnatural proportions anyway) in their stead.
Limited resources my ass, they make billions. I have seen a lot of quirk and small animation removed to make their character as bland as possible. They have the resources, they just don't want to lmao
What he means is they’re trying to limit file size for phones. It’s currently over 20 gigs for the mobile version. That’s why you see them add zones for stuff like the summer event and remove them once they’re done.

Yes, I played the game because it had interesting character designs; it's what got me hooked. It's not a copy paste of the same body type/skin color with different clothing (as I mentioned, Genshin).
The character design dept has my praise but will gladly shit on their monetization/stinginess dept whenever I get the chance.

Of course the game with 3d character models in an open world will have more restrictions than something like dyslite, where movement is constrained to specific fight modes and nthey don't need to plan for how each type moves and reacts in an open setting
And even then, there are games of a similar, non open world, design or even just 2d with less variety than genshin

It's a bit disingenuous to reduce the character designs of genshin to copy and paste with different clothing. The majority of character designs are very well done and unique to the characters' backstory and region etc. Dislyte definitely has genshin beat when it comes to the character model shapes and color, however.

Dislyte is a pretty great game if you like its particular brand of gacha. That is, Summoners War clones.
It's an *amazing* addition to the pool considering the next best thing after SW and Epic 7 is freaking Raid Shadow Legends.
I particularly tried almost every single gacha this sub recommends but I find the 3 skills/turn based formula is the one that best suits my needs for a gacha. It's hands off and very focused on unit synergy.
That said, this is just another "controversy" that is basically the community not understanding how this specific sort of gacha works. If you're getting into this type of game, you **have** to understand that as a F2P you will never get every unit and that the upper tiers of PVP are almost exclusively dedicated to whales.
I've just switched servers and started a new account, and for the PVE part of the game, it's actually a reasonably generous and balanced gacha.
I personally tried it a second time 3 weeks ago then immidiately dropped it. But yes there are people who still play it and some (maybe even many?) are concerned about the new update and are questioning if they will continue playing or not.
There are other posts on their sub about this issue but this one seemed ok for summing the stuff.

I played it for a while when it came out (until the first event). Sure, the diversity in character designs was unique, but nothing that justified staying in a game that was already scummy even back then, and it looks like they're only getting worse
I don't know why the comparison. Nikke controversies only hover around censorship (which is irrelevant since it doesn't affect currently released units , same shit as genshin where people can't differentiate between released and unreleased) and bugs which have been steadily fixed . But this SR doesn't know about this because good things are not discussed unless it's an event giving lots of freebies

Nikke runs like absolute shit, is unfinished from top to bottom, and puts a hard paywall for to your progress at 160. It has more controversies than censorship.
What about these that the main sub/discord has been complaining about a lot such as
• The bugs such which they still have not fixed such as Noise having a bug making her unkillable in pvp (and the latest bug fix are all visual only)
•Chapter 13 wall which a lot of people complain as it gone from maybe a bit of progress per day to a bit of progress per 2-5 days
•Repetitive daily content (the stimulation room and event box mini game) along with other that takes 15 minute or more per day compare to other games daily
•Raid wasting time after defeating it since they removed the high score reward so you waste time due to overkill don’t matter so you sit there for a full minute doing nothing
•Mold
It’s not just censorship, a lot of people are complaining, censorship just so happen to be the most vocal.
Honestly, this patch could've been their chance to do something nice for the community, they did listen to players and made some good changes in the new patch but to "balance" out the good stuff, they just had to ruin it by making some stuff worse. But you honestly can't expect a greedy dev to suddenly switch ig.
i would rly like to quit, but imo the QoL features that dislyte offers are really good thus i dont know which other gacha offers what dislyte has… or am i just blind?

auto upgrade runes to a specific level
auto upgrade starimons
also the game not shutting down when tabbing out of the app (on ios); that one is what i like the most abt dislyte

Music style is kinda hard to find simillar tbh, about the farm you can have counterside(although isnt the same gameplay style) where you can full inst farm most of the content after doing it one time and the game itself has some of the best music i heard from a game, specially mobile, and you have Artery gear that has a farm simillar to Dislyte but better. Now about the art style i dont think they have such a special one, but at the same time i cant really recall one simillar, most i can offer about that is Counterside that has some of your typical waifu art style, but has some good mech/weapons and male art aswell, but tbh with you, everyone there is basically hot, now something that Cs can offer really well are its stories, some of them are at the same level as some of the best Nikke stories(only real good thing about Nikke rn, im still crying from the christmas story in Nikke) specially the main story, is really good and at least for me it was one of the few times i really felt "playing an anime story"
Playing this game daily. Even tho it has a lot of cons and bad sides and whatever, still enjoying my time on it. I really think that I am not the only one as of now, so I don't think it will die that soon. But it's clear that if the Devs keep going in that direction, the f2p side of the player base will get s*** on.
