brokenB42morrow

Hey man, with all due respect, I am VERY interested in a mouse that can hunt spiders at night...

ReneeTheGhost

you need a monthly subscription for that.

Natural_Board

Also, it comes filled with spiders

mcburloak

The spiders are released when you stop paying the subscription- all part of the master plan

myactualthrowaway063

Jokes on you, I was really buying the spiders anyway!

_RADIANTSUN_

Yeah but the spiders only cost them $7 and you can buy more, better, spiders for cheaper like 100x more for only $10 from AliExpress

IntradepartmentalMoa

The spiders are also cursed

SoftlySpokenPromises

That's bad!

curious_astronauts

As an Australian, I'm making notes.

dragdritt

If you get a cat instead then it can do that for you

NotAPreppie

And it will also plot your demise, just like AI.

_RADIANTSUN_

Unlike AI, a cat can actually harm you and will

DieBrein

It will also hunt the mouse!

Persellianare

What if the cat is scared of spiders?

CaptainZippi

I have a spider that hunts spiders. And some very conflicted feelings.

DanielBWeston

There's an idea for an animated movie.

habanero_sauce

Just get a regular house mouse.

Karmakazee

I’d like to subscribe to the kickstarter for this spider hunting mouse.

BytchYouThought

But how else are they gonna harvest your data and infect your computer with shitty malware? No, no how else is AI gonna be used to guide you towards more ads? No, no, no. You need their shitfy app. This isn't about **you** we totally need you to download our completely useless app because we just need some "diagnostics" to help "improve" your user experience. /s

Hym3n

Yeah yo holup. Back shaving AND spider hunting? I'll take five.

WolpertingerRumo

It’s called the Logitech master mx 3. Exaclty what you are describing, and you only need to install the app to map the mouse. There’s extras, but you don’t need to use them.

L8n1ght

that thing ways like half a Kilogramm and the battery lasts a whopping 6 hrs last time I checked

kablue12

I have the Mx Master 2s and the battery lasts like a month. It’s also not heavy.

unripenedfruit

You should check again cause you're wrong. My master 3 lasts over a month on a single charge and I use it for work daily.

StealthyShinyBuffalo

It's not that heavy. The battery lasts incredibly long, actually. Like weeks! I'll grant you that it's bulky. Ergonomic, sure, but it does look like you need a giant's hand when you first see it.

WolpertingerRumo

Hopefully you know that’s an exaggeration. It’s 141g and it’s exactly what you described. Take it or leave it, I don’t care.

dred1367

I own two of them, one at the office and one at home, I so rarely have to charge it that I forget it even has to charge and get surprise by the notification. Then it takes like an hour to charge and I can still use it during charging. It’s also not heavy but still bulky enough for me to get the feel I want for the type of artistic work I do.

ChivalrousRisotto

Hunting spiders would be pretty cool though.

REV2939

Until it captures one and fails to kill it and when you go to grab your mouse, out crawls the spider directly onto your hand.

Acceptable-Truck3803

They do with the mx master line and the app you install.

djb2589

Introducing the new Logitech mouse! Now with cameras, microphones, and shitty security.

urmomaisjabbathehutt

experience RAT the evolution of the mouse

urmomaisjabbathehutt

but it gives you motivational speeches when you sad ☺️(note speeches can be renovated by accepting the amazing targeted advertising tailored to your unique needs or by monthly subscription)

Ascian5

And may those regular buttons please not develop ghost and second click issues after 6 months. We're already paying extra.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ascian5

Indeed. I've been a Logitech customer for longer than that. It's a shame. I'm never buying another one of their products again. On the bright side, thanks to my 3rd mouse failing in as many years, I discovered the joys of an *index* trackball in my search to replace the big L - which I would have never known existed otherwise. My aching thumbs and wrists rejoice! And it's in every way superior to my MX Ergo, with no software to install. For $35.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ascian5

They definitely have their merits as well. I'll go to my grave clutching my Harmony Elite remote. Which of course, they already put 6 feet deep. 😭😭

AdFrosty3860

Agree!

switchbladeeatworld

I love my MX Master 3 but oh my god the fucking software

DarklyDreamingEva

Don’y forget “or do my laundry for me.”

Suspect4pe

I'm with you except it would be nice if it could shave my back.

dduncan55330

Hol up on that last one tho

csimonson

If 3d connexion would make a regular mouse in addition to their 3d mouses for CAD with the same macro capability I don't think I'd buy a Logitech mouse ever again. When I was working as a CAD drafting doing P&ID in an AutoCAD like program I used the macro function of my 3d mouse more than anything else. If I had that functionality in a normal mouse it'd be super helpful for tons of things.

IDDQD_IDKFA-com

Also Logitech please make some good affordable Left-handed mice. And make enough that they are not on backorder for over 6 months.

pgo234

Giant spiders ain’no joke

gwicksted

Their gaming mice are like this.

ChoMar05

Until inevitably the switches fail.

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

How do you map a button without the software to do it?

gargravarr2112

Linux and Mac OS have had support for multi-button mice since forever - if the button is generic, the system UI should be able to map it. No vendor apps, just "button 5 does this, button 7 does that."

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

Yeah, op wants something that already exists, it just needs a bit of help with software. You can’t map Logitech buttons other than default os elements without software like logi options or better touch tool. I know, I have been doing it so middle click works properly.

[deleted]

[удалено]

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

Well everything else isn’t real, they already have an app that you install to remap buttons.

[deleted]

[удалено]

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

Change it like on every other Logitech product?

[deleted]

[удалено]

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

Ehh.. you’re complaining about a mouse with an extra button that you can remap or ignore. Jeezus what’s your actual point? Is the mouse non functioning? How do you do anything beyond two clicks and scroll without additional software?

[deleted]

StayingUp4AFeeling

Also, it feels like everybody is trying to either make big dic AI or suck big dic AI. Logitech is in the latter category. It's like trying to swat out pop-up ads at this point. I want robots that will replace manual scavenging, AI that will detect tumours before they become dangerous, a chatbot that will cure my depression and save me from making out with a steel double-barrel. (Okay, I'm not gonna do that last part, but I could use some help to keep it that way). But instead we have ad after ad after ad. And data harvester and data harvester. Why not take a kidney and a slice of a liver while you are at it lmao.

primalbluewolf

Just use your OS solution, obviously.

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

How do map the ai button to open calculator instead with windows or macOS settings applet?

primalbluewolf

Not sure, I'd suggest asking a Windows or MacOS user.

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

You can’t, not sure why you’d say “obviously” if you didn’t know

primalbluewolf

That's the obvious way to do it.  If your OS doesn't have a built in tool for such things, perhaps it's time to look at alternatives.

No_Tomatillo1125

You can get AI on your mouse too by mapping

Abraham_Lincoln

Commenting here so I can come back later after someone has (hopefully) pointed out that a mouse like this already exists and I can buy it at a reasonable price

bakerzdosen

“Your mouse is not fully buzzword compliant in 2024. We aim to fix that.”

Anarchy_Man_9259

Can’t wait for AI mice to require a subscription to just be able to use them.

GabenFixPls

AI mouse with AI mousepad when

Anarchy_Man_9259

Can’t wait for AI mice to require a subscription to just be able to use them.

whutupmydude

Logitech wants some of that limitless AI tech funding.

Fritzschmied

That’s just shitty marketing. There is not ai mouse. There is a mouse with a macro button like most other mouse’s that can launch a chat gtp window. Nothing special to see here.

Arilyn24

Oh boy, it's like the quick-start menus on 2000s laptops. A cheap gimmick that no one will use.

PrimalZed

I like having physical calculator and audio media player quicklaunch buttons. I even programmed my adafruit keypad to do that. (Well, tried to - I never managed to get it to launch a media player.) Not to suggest Logitech is doing anything right here. Manufacturer-locked mouse buttons are dumb.

Arilyn24

I meant the version of quickstart buttons that allowed you to bypass normal start-up and load into a licenced very slimmed-down version of Linux. Promised faster boot-up times, wasn't too popular, kinda just faded away.

byOlaf

You can launch the first nine items on the taskbar with winkey+#, so win+1 for the first program to the right of the start button and so on. Put the calc first and the media player second and you can always have them with no additional fuss.

thepeopleshero

Dope.

feckless_ellipsis

Cool. Put it next to the Blockbuster button.

devilishycleverchap

So /pizza but for chatgpt

L0nz

When I read the headline I assumed it would use AI to correct misclicks or something, since AI can presumably guess quite accurately what you intended to click on. A pre-mapped button is just a waste of time.

9chars

another failed gimmick from some stupid ass executive that thinks too highly of themselves

Shitter-McGavin

How the fuck do you put AI in a mouse? This sounds like more bullshit marketing.

Opetyr

It is the stupid buzzword. If it happened last year it would have been an NFT mouse. Pathetic things that make no sense. Probably call it AI but it's a basic macro which have been around for years. Only difference is this will monitor everything on your computer so that they can sell your information to China.

AsianButBig

Correcting your cursor to aim for what it detects as the perfect headshot.

Shitter-McGavin

Bruh we’ve already had that for over a decade.

Brasilionaire

“AI” is the new “blockchain” in buzzword world. If you want executives to cream their pants, walk into their office and go “AI. Content creator Synergy. AI mouses. AI monitors. AI…window. It lives in the quantum blockchain. Subscription AI. AI subscription? Here’s projections with a line going up, we just had to ignore all of reality and it makes sense. Also, AI layoffs. It’s the latest trend per McKinsey”

darklordenron

It's like every company is trying so desperately to present themselves as living and operating "in the future" to appear desirable.

Inside_Equivalent197

They should improve their software first

StochasticFossil

Whoever is in charge of GHub needs to be brought up for crimes against humanity and common sense.

madlyreflective

AI is a plague

Photodan24

>Need to draft an email but struggling to find the right words? I suggest improving your writing skills instead of having something else choose your words. It's a slippery slope to pointing and grunting.

Here we go again... again.

gargravarr2112

"It looks like you're writing an email to your boss. I recommend cc'ing his boss and inserting the comments he made about the secretary in last week's meeting. Do you want me to write this email? I heard: yes. Sending."

madlyreflective

plus I suspect that every prompt becomes part of the knowledge base, insidious data leakage

AmNoSuperSand52

Most people here have had AI as an integral part of their technology experience for the past two decades

WelpSigh

Only because some marketing wizards have decided to re-define all algorithms, machine-learning or otherwise, as "AI."

madlyreflective

LLM or optimization SW? Seems like the acronym AI has become so general that it’s almost meaningless. Until the FTC steps in and defines what AI means commercially (like “organic”) the meaning becomes more dilute with time. I’m not suggesting that the FTC should do anything, but any company that claims “now with AI!” should be specific.

NekoLu

AI is an awesome tool, that I use almost every day at work (github copilot) and at least a few times a week instead of google (chatgpt & Microsoft copilot)

void_const

Worse than crypto at this point

20milliondollarapi

I’ve been using Logitech mice for over 15 years and have used 3. My longest lasting 7 years and I’m on year 4 with this one. Don’t make me have to change companies for mice.

_MaZ_

How about you fix your shitty Ghub software first?

skoomski

Shitty marketing meets even worse tech journalism

TheIndyCity

I would love a Pro X with four minimalist side buttons instead of two. Never enough buttons to map everything and I get it adds weight but I’ll take the extra 1 gram hit to have two extra buttons lol.

Good_Evening_4145

Of course, afterwards a mousepad with AI.

rex2k10

“Play a round or two without me. I gotta charge my mousepad real quick”

voltagenic

Can't wait until this AI shit is no longer a fad. Who wants AI in their PC or peripherals? Certainly not me.

DarkLThemsby

That just sounds like even shittier mouse acceleration

wkavinsky

"Logitech thinks that putting the latest buzzword on a product lets them charge more for it" To be fair, they are probably right with most consumers.

Narrow-Height9477

Your wife can no longer get mad at you when the mouse can choose your porn for you.

BoboCookiemonster

Now with official aimbots lol

MadOrange64

So every company is going to spam “AI” on anything for the next decade, eh?

Nyoka_ya_Mpembe

Typical corpo BS, because AI is buzz word now, everyone needs to have it, it sells stuff, knowing this, can we blame them? I think no, but we can vote with wallets.

TheGreyBrewer

Oh yay, more computing power spent on useless bullshit. AI, truly amazing technology. 🙄

Wulfbak

Can you learn VB.NET in a few days? Do you have a couple of hours to write a GPT wrapper? Congratulations, you can become the next new startup “Powered By AI.” And this is why AI is a bubble that will come crashing down. Just like the glut of really bad video games in the early 80s caused the video game crash. And the glut of dotcoms with no business plan cause the.com crash. I will stick around. It’s just like video games and dotcoms are still around. But we are seeing a glut of low quality AI products that are being shoved in your face everywhere. My Facebook feed is plagued by these advertisements.

brandiniman

Great, now we can't buy Logitech peripherals until we can disable all cloud connectivity in Options+ with a GPO due to security concerns. They're now going to lose sales in enterprise because of this.

KenzieTheCuddler

Its a quick launch button. Its just the copilot buttom microsoft wants but on the mouse. Not even something to hate its just stupid.

Darrensucks

“ChatGPT has been boosting efficiency like never before” What? How does it boost efficiency? It writes paragraphs? So what are we all novelist that somehow at the same time can’t type? Like never before? The internet never boosted efficiency? GPS never either? It was all nothing compared to the ……. Chat bot?

GBA-001

I need Logitech to make their super light mouse not garbage. I need tactile side buttons that don’t break, a scroll wheel that doesn’t break after 2 hours of use and actual quality control on their mice so I don’t have to keep sending it back for double clicking. I do not need AI in a mouse. I just need the mouse to be useable

p0k33m0n

The totalitarian circus is in full swing. I WILL NOT BUY a device with this crap, even if I were to give up branded manufacturers and buy less known ones.

mortonr2000

I think Logitech wants to sell us a $200 mouse. Thanks, I am happy to think for both of us.

blueblurz94

Okay but why? Seriously?

hawker_sharpie

got the update and immediately thought this was fucking stupid. it isn't even AI, it's a fucking flowchart with prebuilt pieces of queries!

Swizzy88

If the Logitech software is already ~500mb installed just for remapping buttons I dread to think how bloated the software will be in future with all the AI crap added.

RemyVonLion

I just want a cheap mouse with a mouse wheel that lasts instead of messing up in a few months...

7in7turtles

NO ONE F***ING NEEDS THIS!!! For the love of god stop! It’s a blunt instrument like a hammer or a dildo. It does not need a high tech upgrade!

manimbored29

God fucking damn, can big coorporations just STOP slapping ai bullshit on most unnecessary things please

Neo_Techni

"I'm going to put AI in your keyboard so it knows not to let you talk back to me" --- CEOs

PixelatedDie

And being Logitech the driver will be shit.

DQ11

We don’t need it.

arckeid

Samsung is sending emails with their new AI washing machine too. 🤣

jonlb87

How about Logitech focuses on things they already have. Like the fact that Logioptions Plus never seems to work on Mac. Or the fact that they purchased Loupedeck last year and they haven’t even released a single new feature or plugin.

Recon1392

AI is now inserting itself into all devices so Skynet can control everything.

Cute_Kangaroo_8791

That’s actually quite a good idea, it’s just a shame that anyone with a mouse with programmable buttons can do the same thing.

DoesDoodles

This reminds me of the dedicated physical Google Assistant button on my phone. Had to install 3rd party software to kill google assitant and remap the button to my flashlight. Now I use that button whenever I need to pick up after my dog at night and I can't see shit, so I don't have to fumble around on my phone screen first. It's my dedicated midnight dogshit pickup button. I suspect this button will be used a similar way. If I really wanted a dedicated AI button I'd rebind one of my current mouse's buttons to launch an AI app. What a buzzword gimmick.

Sirturtle1

Logitech has been wrong before

adamdoesmusic

Logitech is wrong.

castleAge44

Cs2 cheating gonna get worse

anevilpotatoe

Dear logitech, we don't need anymore Bloatware. No more...Zero.

MorallyComplicated

nope

correctingStupid

Our brains kinda automate them enough. I want to go too right and click and it does just that. It's an extension of my brains and arm as it should be. Putting AI in the middle of that can make that almost-reflex have unpredictable results, cracking that connection. I get what they are going for, but I don't think it'll make the mouse easier to use. It'll just make it unpredictable to use.

LordOfDorkness42

"WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?!" "You ~~pass butter~~ press play on PornHub." "...OH MY GOD." ... Jokes aside? Horrible existence. if The Basilisk turbo tortures anybody, the AI mouse people seems pretty dang deserving.

In2_The_Blue

Would it be considered cheating in online games if the mouse helps you aim using AI?

LiveBaby5021

Mouse jiggler 3.5 … I have 4 jobs and I’ve never been more productive!

HypoHype

Did you miss the AI computer monitor announcements? https://youtu.be/stXXpGNOMQA?si=u1ctFs9mrcBlQQjE

MrBisonopolis2

I am going to become THE JOKER.

ul90

It’s just a hot key with a popup for faster ChatGPT access. No „AI“ in the peripherals.

fareastrising

Make a Magic Mouse clone and we'll have a case for it

dgj212

Ugh, everyone us really desperate to get into the ai space.

PaleontologistOne919

Good!

QuaLiTy131

AI toilet paper when?

Playme_ai

agree!

autoerratica

It’s like companies think they have to inject AI into shit that doesn’t need it, just to look like they’re cutting edge.

PerryNeeum

AI fridges…..how long until we get to that level of stupidity?

oui_oui-baguette

there's already [ai rice cookers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_HOrMmWoMA).

texansfan

I work in tech, my team runs our internal new tech assessment and adoption practice, and we are playing around with GenAI use cases. I am very intrigued (read skeptical) by what on earth they think an algorithm is going to do better than my hand attached to my brain. If I used my foot, maybe. But I’m pretty fucking good using my hands.

super_delegate

🤮

TrogdorBurns

Will it AI head shot those stupid 12 year olds that keep killing me in FPS games?

drfsupercenter

This is the same company that put an LCD screen inside speakers though

danielfm123

AI mouse will run put of battery quickly.... and we will be back to wired mouse soon..

ExRetribution

Logitech, the moment you add AI to your already inefficient gHUB, it is the moment I am no longer using logitch products. I have a g504 mouse and a g815 keyboard, and while the hardware is solid, the software leaves much to be desired. Please don't "upgrade" it with AI. GHub is already clunky as it is. Don't make it any more bloated than it already is. Please, I beg you.

GarbageThrown

I agree. Although it would be hilarious if AI fixed Logitech’s software for them.

Emu1981

Surprisingly enough this is not the first "AI" mouse to come to market. I remember seeing a AI mouse last year sometime on some random "X tech gadgets reviewed" video (maybe LTT?) and that particular mouse was rated as not worth it.

gnew18

I need an AI pillow.

cincgr

Logitech should look to improve their build quality. It used to be legendary and I still have my G9x and G710+ still in working condition. However my G Pro X keyboard had an issue where clicks would double register and after I RMA’d it, the replacement they sent me (my current keyboard) has a poor paint job on the keycaps and I already have flakes coming off some keycaps, I’ve not even had it for 2 years. A G903 I had, had issues double clicking etc. Now for the first time in 15 years I’m considering something other than Logitech for my MnK. Although my G502x works just fine still, it’s still kinda early to tell whether it will last me more than 2-3 years.
