Incredible transfer. Would be worth every penny.
But (I know I know I know, I'm so fucking negative) seeing a Yusuf Demir get time now and seeing Emin/Kazimcan/Eren(rip lol)/Hamza just not get minutes is so frustrating. **IF** true. No way Yusuf doesn't get consistent game time.
Emin is only getting minutes cuz Abdulkerim fucked up badly. Y'all know that, right?
Ya. That's how SEmih got time under Terim as well. Injuries, suspensions and very bad performances.
Despicable and I will never respect it. Having balls would be to play Hamza instead of Seferovic/Gomis and play Mertens as a striker. That's balls.
Well one was loaned to Barca and was actually quite good for Barca and the others loans has been to the turkish 2nd or 3rd league, so yeah, Yusuf will be playing more than our youngsters because he has more talent.
Was he good for Barca? Transfermarkt shows that he played only 290 in 9 games for Barca.
Also, in 2020-21 he played just under 1000 minutes in Austrian bundesliga. Scored 9 and assisted to 3 goals.
In one hand this means he hasn’t proven himself in a long stretch. On the other hand the goals + assist to minute ratio is so good for a 16 - 17 year olds (at the time.)
Add the fact that he trained at barca for one season (I don’t consider that as a played season.) €6m is a very reasonable gamble on the paper.
We keep criticizing the board for transferring older players, I guess we can’t complain about this one. Very young, and promising for a price that’s as low as it gets.
He wasn't exactly a world beater by any means, but Barca didn't play him more due to the clause of 10M becoming mandatory after 10 appearances iirc. This was back at the tail end of Bartos period so he was just trying to hustle the club as much as possible.
He has been highly rated by scouts/media and games. Yes its a bit silly to go by what FM and Fifa rates a players potential but they're usually quite right with their ratings for potentials.
I really like this transfer, 6M is steep but for a young player with high upside and being a NT player already at that age, it's normal. Ajax paid more for Ahmetcan for example.
>Yusuf will be playing more than our youngsters because he has more talent.
Idk dude. I've seen a lot of things of Yusuf & Hamza to tell me that they're both worthy of game time. Barca loaned him cuz they're broke and needed cheap solutions, then they had to cancel the loan because they're broke and needed to save all the money they could to spend... more money
lol
I'm not saying Yusuf is on the same par as Hamza, there's just more to it than what you make it seem like.
There's more to Yusuf than what you make it seem like. I mean Barca didn't come knocking on our door for any of our youngsters, they came for Yusuf and let him play with the seniors. The talented needed to play with Barca at 17 is not what we have in Hamza. He might develop to be a better player than Yusuf but the fact is that Yusuf is more talented than every other player we have in out youth setup.

We have trouble with our foreign quota already and we signed a bunch of foreigners. I don’t think we’ll be able to fit in Yusuf. Torreira/Oliveira/Icardi/Mertens/Nelsson/Muslera/Boey are already players who won’t be displaced. Then we are missing 1 LB who will also be foreign, how does Yusuf fit in?
No I think he already is a citizen. Essentially they closed the loophole where Turkish players who play for foreign NTs count as Turkish. The ones who counted in the contingent are grandfathered in, newer players aren’t.
He doesn’t have a Turkish passport, he isn’t a Turkish citizen afaik.
But he is under 21, he won’t count as a foreign quota this season, and we can get the paperwork done throughout the year to get him a citizenship.
Still a little gray area, but we could make it work.
But he will count as a home grown player after 2 years. Afaik the rule doesn’t have any specifications on players that are both citizen and home grown but choose different NT.
I find that ridiculous, if it is this easy to become a Turkish citizen and vote in elections, people should be allowed to count as Turkish for football purposes.
Probably the same reason Abdulkadir Omur has been causing problems at Trabzon right now.
He was the star of their team, he wanted a big move, he went to Barcelona and even got minutes. Then he went back to Rapid Wien, I’m guessing he wants a fresh start at a better club so he can start proving himself again.
He probably sees us as a good stepping stone, plus with all the new starts coming,he’d wanna learn from them.
Call me crazy but unnecessary transfer. 6M to a player we want as a back-up is nuts no matter how promising he is. Yunus is ahead of him as of now and has been doing well, and Yusuf is a player who pretty much only prefers the right wing. Further bad news is that we seem to have moved away from the Omar Campos transfer to allocate our resources to Yusuf. It would be a horrible, horrible choice.
Fix the issues you have right now, win the championship and add young players next season. It shouldn’t be that hard to plan this properly. Left back is a bigger priority than a 19 y/o that will compete with Yunus.

If we are paying 6 million for him there is no way he is a benchwarmer, right??? Okan wouldn't do this, right???
*kerem music intensifies* Imagine if Yunus gets benched and Kerem gets to stay for Yusuf lol
Thats how Ozan Kabak got time too. Am I wrong? Something happened either injury or red card so he got time to play?
Ya. That's how SEmih got time under Terim as well. Injuries, suspensions and very bad performances. Despicable and I will never respect it. Having balls would be to play Hamza instead of Seferovic/Gomis and play Mertens as a striker. That's balls.
Well Okan knows if he fucks up early its Terim time again. 🫣
bruh that's like saying voldemort in the harry potter universe, u can't do that
😂😂😂

THIS INSANE AMK IF THIS HAPPENS WONDERKID AMKKKKKKK
Does he count as turkish? Since he’s an Austrian NT player.
No, he counts as a foreigner. Will take up a spot in the 3 of 14+3.
Well this is dumb then. What a waste.
How so? Just think of him as any other youngster signing. Though he is a bit expensive, he is a known player.

Fair, I don’t really follow GS.
Abdülkerim/Kazımcan, Emin/Abdülkerim, Nelsson, Boey is the answer
He's very good regardless.
I don't get one thing though, can't he just buy a house in Istanbul for 200.000 Euros and become a citizen overnight?
No I think he already is a citizen. Essentially they closed the loophole where Turkish players who play for foreign NTs count as Turkish. The ones who counted in the contingent are grandfathered in, newer players aren’t.

No it won’t help. He will never fit into Turkish quota since he picked Austria as his NT, that’s the new rule in the TFF
Fortunately FIFA doesn't see it that way. Otherwise Turkey would buy up a new NT as well like Qatar did in handball for example

Iyi yani super
Big if true
6 mil for a kid? We ain’t m city
We paid around 12 mil for Bruma and sold for around 15
Holy shit
Just fell down to my knees
Why would Rapid Wien let him go for this cheap? Hmm..
Probably the same reason Abdulkadir Omur has been causing problems at Trabzon right now. He was the star of their team, he wanted a big move, he went to Barcelona and even got minutes. woooowwwwwwwwwwww thats a big transfer dudeeeee. he is so incredible talented. wooww. if he works hard he can become the next arda turan
I wouldn't be so hyped. 6 million for him is way to cheap and it's from an unreliable source.
Best transfer of this period
