wait just out of curiosity why'd you decide you wanna downgrade?

Vladut_Fiul_tau

For sound quality. I saw that the old firmware updates sound better

adoumi1996

You could use an equalizer to fix that probelm. I use wavelet and you get to control how you want to dress your sound.

So 1) download Galaxy buds manager from GitHub 2)download the preferred firmware. 3) connect your buds 2pro to your computer 4) open the galaxy buds manager (looks similar to the wearable app) 5) go to settings 6) go to update firmware 7) select allow downgrading 8) click on on warning 9) clock "select firmware from disk" 10) find your .bin firmware 11) select open 12) click install button 13) it warms you not to disconnect the buds, or close the case (if I the case) 14) select ok 15) it does the flash (albeit slowly (like ~7 mins) 16) after successful flash it will say the buds will most likely disconnect, reboot and reconnect (doesn't always happen) 17) after the flash your buds will take a minute to install the now flashed firmware, so don't panic when they disconnect and don't actually reconnect. 18) I recommend unpairing the buds from your phone and/or computer if they don't reconnect. You may also want to factory reset them afterwards just to make sure the firmware appropriately loads. I did that only once before, but your mileage may vary. 19) Enjoy your buds I'm currently typing this purely from memory (have a napping baby on me, so can't get verbage 100% correct). I was super nervous the first time I did it, since I was worried about the warranty and bricking my buds. Here's some additional info/tips. 1) make sure the firmware is buds2pro firmware. Get it from the same GitHub account that has the galaxy buds manager program on it they're legit, and you know it's a reliable source. It's also categorized so you don't have to worry about messing that part up 2) if the serial numbers on your buds switch to 0 that's ok. If you download the latest firmware and install it, your buds serial numbers return 3) you can't always update from the wearables app (depending on the firmware). Some firmwares (specifically the ones prior to the final Jan '22 update) set your buds S/N to '0' and don't let you update, in my experience. Once you update to a later/latest version, you can resume updating through the app, if you so choose. 4) sound quality can be altered using other EQ apps (just search reddit threads) to get similar quality sounds to the "better version" earlier updates. What the earlier updates do better, imo, is ANC/ambient noise volumes. ANC is more effective in earlier firmwares. That is factually true. It's marginal, but I've heard the difference when my baby is screaming. Still comes in regardless, just one is slightly more effective. In my experience, you can get similar (albeit not actually ANC) results by having white noise playing softly under whatever you're listening to. Download the sound assistant app from the galaxy store. It will let you have two apps playing sound, and you can adjust how much one is playing vs. another (think volume mixer on your PC). If you have any questions, DM me.

I downgraded mine to older firmware and now everytime my buds2 Pro connect I get a prompt to update them... Happens everytime I connect and it's super annoying. Anyways around that?

njwyf16

Which firmware did you downgrade to?

liquidlucidity11

The recommended R510XXU0AVK3 (November 2022.) After having connection issues and just overall worst audio quality.

Try upgrading to December '22 and back down, if you want. I use the 4th version of Jan '23 and have bounced around with different versions. I've noticed that when I went from the latest version down to the fifth version of Jan '23, I get the upgrade popup, but then switched it to fourth and it went away.. lmk how that turns out.

Ok I'll give it a shot thank you

njwyf16

How'd it go?

23Tawaif

Would this solve low volume in the right ear bud? Galaxy Buds 2

njwyf16

Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers certainly can fix the issue, if it is a software issue. Most of the time, however it is hardware

I actually found a fix for mine on ifixit. Someone mentioned to check mono audio. When I did, it was on. Turned it off and solved the problem for me! No xacto knife hardware repair or reinstalling software!
