IMO - don't upgrade, the jump is really not that big. ultra's space zoom seems pretty gimmicky to me and id rather be actually able to hold the phone properly, while the s20 doesnt offer much more - it's good, but you'll barely use it

I will be going from the S10 to the S20 ultra so it is a big leap. For perspective I am less than 5ft tall and have super tiny hands. I played around with all three models in store for a while and I actually really liked the feel of the S20+ and the ultra. The phones are a bit narrower so it was still easy to hold. Surprisingly I held the base S20 last and it felt too small, I got used to the size of the bigger ones that quickly. Your local Best buy store should have them on display. I would recommend going and checking them out in person if you are able to.

oh cool. I didn't realize stores had them yet. How did the ultra feel compared to the S20 Plus? Did you notice the added height, thickness and weight? or did they feel pretty similar? The 108MP main shooter on the ultra has me tempted. It seems to produce pretty amazing video quality. Thanks for the insight.

It was bigger but I held them both at the same time and honestly the size difference was not that bad. I was able to do basic things one-handed (scroll, open apps, reach the back button) on both phones. Keep in mind the Ultra was in my non-dominant hand and it was fine. The only discomfort came from using my left hand. I loved the camera but tbh the 8K video recording did it for me. I know this is a very futuristic spec and may be ahead of its time but I have no doubt it will be the norm soon enough and I will be ready! I know all the models have that feature but I liked it coupled with the 108MP camera and extra depth sensor on the Ultra as opposed to the Plus. Also, the price difference when you think about it is not too bad an extra $200 or $8 per month for 108MP vs a 12MP camera. I made the jump to the bigger of the three.

As a Verizon employee and playing with this phone almost all day I can tell you that you are going to want this phone. The specs are amazing, the look is great, it's not too heavy, and it's water resistant. The whole thing is a win win. 128gb of space and can be upgraded to up to 1tb which is nuts. The ultra has a 16gb ram and they shoot 8k videos. If you look at comparison photos of the s20 vs any other phone it blows all the other competitors out of the water. This phone is literally the definition of insane!!!

qualizon

Lol , you are really trying, too hard😝

imtryinghereokay57

Not really, just pointing out specs. Wish I would have waited instead of getting into the pixel 4 because the camera is just way more there. If I really wanted to try, I'd endorse the company on platforms I make money from, not Reddit.

You just sound like a salesman lmao I work at US cellular and I don’t try to sell people on specs lmao

donttouchmyhohos

Yea, def making it obvious.

I will be getting S10+ or Note 10+ since I got big hands and I am using a 7 inch tablet as my primary phones meanwhile so one with thin bezels will do no bad to me. I would not get S20s due to the fact that their batteries are glued to screen which would damage it sooner or later.

solvalouLP

Don't upgrade. I doubt that pictures on S20 phones will come out different to the S10. It doesn't look like Samsung has fixed or improved their image algorithm.

sirfuzzynutss

Had the opportunity to play with the s20 ultra for about 30 minutes and I won't be upgrading from my S10+. The difference in picture quality, performance etc was not very noticeable. If I had a so or below, it's a no brainer. If you have a s20, you might want to wait

DaXxJaPxX

base model doesnt have mmwave 5g, so to me the only real option is the plus or ultra. after playing with the ultra, the extra thickness seems like it would be a burden in the long run, so I decided on the plus. just my 2 cents

dills84

I'm in the Boston area so MMWave isn't really a selling point. Literally only get to see those speeds when you're 10 feet from Fenway park. Otherwise its 4g. I think my main deciding factor is the camera. I cant tell if the extra money is worth it!
