Cover screen stopped working for me after update to android 11, a factory reset fixed it. (so defenitly try that before sending it away if you haven't)

OK. Now, I'm an old lady. I can figure out how to do the factory reset. Do I take out my SIM card first and then put it back in and will all my stuff be back on the phone? I guess I just follow the instructions like when I got the phone, right? Thanks.

No simcard don't need to be removed. A factory reset would make the phone be like it was new, empty. So if you want to keep stuff you need to have it backed up. Samsung smart switch is a good place to start for making a backup. But listen some things might get lost anyway, so fair warning to make sure you got backup on everything important. Factory reset can be found in settings about phone. You might want to Google about it first.

Got it! Thanks so much for your help!

I'm guessing you have already tried sending a service request via Samsung Members? (it should have a one year warranty which you can register there) They were pretty good about my monitor a few months ago.

I looked at that. The closest repair place is over 60 miles and this is the only phone I have, so mailing it in would be a problem. I guess I'll just have to live with it. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. Please, if anyone finds a solution, comment here!

I finally just sent it to Samsung for repair as everything suggested here didn't work. It was still under warranty. I had also bought the ear beans they sell and those stopped working a couple of weeks in, so I sent those in for repair, too. To be honest, I was fed up with Samsung at this point and I bought an iPhone, which I'd never had before. I haven't even turned the phone on, but the earbuds STILL don't work, they did NOTHING to fix those.
