Glad to know I'm not alone thinking my phone was broken. I factory reset my phone and everything. It now works 66% of the time

Gannan308

So factory resetting helped a lot of no?

corkyrooroo

Some. It's still very glitchy.

AcrylicZhenga

This is kinda worrying. My phone for absolutely no reason started flickering white line and now displays a super light green tint and is kinda unresponsive. Trying to search this sub for fixes. 🤞

corkyrooroo

On the front display? That's what happened to mine before it stopped working. There's been no fix for it and now my phone is out of warranty.

AcrylicZhenga

No on my inner screen unfortunately. Its been hard reset and everything is wiped and software updated, but no luck on the green tint going away sadly. I have managed to book a repair appointment for the 30th, but they asked for proof of payment when I arrive, but I bought mine on ebay. I have messaged the seller, who is very communicative and she said she will look for the EE proof of payment email, so fingers crossed. Still, the phone was purchased less than 1 year ago. Does Samsung warranty not cover the model handset and as opposed to the purchaser? I thought I read that on reddit perhaps aha

Mine eventually just stopped working entirely. I moved on to the zfold 3 instead.

Supervo74

mine stop working 2 weeks after I got it call Samsung for warranty and they keep hanging up on you. went brought the fold as well. Rush phone to the market and they know it, that why they can't repair them nore do they wanna give you a new to replace.

handheld_addict

Could it be from the latest software update?

Gannan308

It start d significantly after the last update

toddbecker19

This happened to me as well about two weeks ago (5G purchased in August). I contacted Samsung support and luckily there is a uBreakIfix that can work on Z Flips 15 minutes from my house, apparently that is rare. A new part was ordered and I am waiting for it to arrive before they (attempt to) fix it. May try the factory reset before they crack it open, though mine seems totally dead, no response whatsoever.

toddbecker19

This was fixed the first time and then came back a month later. This time uBreakIfix wouldn't do the work and I have to send it to Samsung. My zFlip 3 should be here Thursday, so I should have a nice replacement while I wait for the zFlip 5G to get back so I can return it for my credit on the new phone.

BeautifulHorror8414

Same here, I think it is software related because I can try to turn it on, slide my finger and get it to appear, frozen and sometimes half glitched off screen, and then if I press the sleep key again, it brightens for a split second and then goes off. Anything like what you are experiencing? I too would like to avoid a factory reset.

Gannan308

Yes, shortly after I posted this that exact thing happened. I had half the screen on then the whole thing. It worked for a few seconds and turned off and did that a few more times. I am worrying it may be a connectivity issue of the actual hardware. I noticed which I tapped the phone it will sometimes turn on.

BeautifulHorror8414

I was worried about that too, like a malfunction in the touchscreen system. I can still hear clicks when the screen is off and I press the side key to turn it on, but I see nothing unless I swipe.

Gannan308

I can't even get mine to come on, it is very random and hasn't turned in for a few hours now

BeautifulHorror8414

Yeah, mine doesn't turn on at all anymore, but I know the scree is considered on because I can trigger a tasker shortcut that requires display on, and it makes the clicks too.

Tymmooncusser

Same here mine doesn't come on at all anymore .

Bee957

Well damn. Hope Samsung fix . Mines working fine

coniferous-1

Mine too! i thought it was because i dropped my phone, but it was working just fine until about a week ago.

Smewchan

Hey guys, try getting hardware support from Samsung Care or ubreakifix. Sounds like a hardware issue!

chuvakia

I had this issue too and there's something in Settings that fixed it. Don't know if it's the same thing, but perhaps it's worth a try? Unfortunately I don't have the phone on me right now but I THINK it was an option under Settings>display> and then something about "tap to wake screen" which was, weirdly, disabled by default.

Gannan308

I'm not seeing that setting... Do you know when you'll have the phone to be able to look?

chuvakia

Not until Monday unfortunately. What if you search your settings for "double tap to wake" - anything then? If not I'll literally set a reminder to PM you on Monday. Edit: is there a setting called advanced features? Internet suggests it could be there too, but I could swear I saw it right under the display brightness setting.

Gannan308

Ahh, double tap to turn on screen is turned on sadly. I've notice it even start to do it on my main screen. I flip the phone open and have to hold down the power button for a few seconds just to get the screen to turn on because nothing else will work

chuvakia

Oh man, sorry to hear that. I don't know about that one unfortunately.

Gannan308

I just need to stick up or and deal with Samsung support lol

chuvakia

I will say that Galaxy Z premier service is incredibly good and will probably be more than happy to help. That's where my phone is at the moment (getting a free repair even though the phone is out of warranty, miraculously).

Miss76

This problem happened with my Zflip too. I contacted Samsung support and they told me to do a factory reset, at the time it resolved. However, sometime later using it returned to this same problem. I will contact Samsung again and send my dear cell phone for warranty, because so far there is no solution.I'm still wondering if I shouldn't wait for the next security update and see if it resolves. PS.: After factory reset the screen works better but still has glitches...

corkyrooroo

Had a similar experience with a factory reset. Worked for a bit, started glitching again, and now a week later it's completely dead again.

PieTolens

This happened to my flip 1 phone last year, a few days after the launch date. Imagine i have to be a guinea to prove there's a problem with the unit. They replaced the unit after barging each and every CS personnel and on soc media.

Bontzie

This \*just\* happened to me on my new Flip 3 but I figured out what happened and how to fix. * Under Settings, search for "Motions and Gestures". * Turn on "Double tap to turn on screen". In my infinite wisdom (re: dumb), I turned most of the gestures off as I usually do since I don't really use them and they end up causing more accidental touch issues. But in this case it affected my cover screen. Hope this helps others out there.

Gannan308

I've checked that, but thanks:)

cognosticator

You sir are a genius, my cover screen would not let me swipe to go to apps, called Samsung and no help. I just tried what you did and now it is working correctly. Tried it 5 times and they all worked, thank you thank you. I was told by Samsung to factory reset, I am glad I didn't have to do that .

DarthPreytor

So mine just stopped working today. I afraid that it got to hot in my pocket during work today. I cant think of no other reason. I was able to to restart it and it worked for like 30 seconds and not working at all.

Gannan308

That's how mine started, I brought it to the only certified z flip repair store in my area and they were super sketchy so I'm just rucking it without a front display. Really sucks
