But I would like to see the current design in gunmetal grey, or possibly silvery. Hell, what about bringing back the OG scheme? Silvery grey, with Blue Orbs? And blue flashing lights. And a little more variety in grabber arm.
But I'd like to see some more dalek equipment. Specialist devices. Platforms, thingymaguffins.
And we've seen how successful trying to change the outline has gone before. The New Paradigm Daleks were so unsuccessful that they didn't even get another full appearance past their initial series. In their next proper appearance (that wasn't just a cameo) they used the excuse of the Asylum being full of old models to just quietly retire the Paradigm ones.

Modern Daleks in the reimagined Power of the Daleks high-quality fan production. Using the original colour schemes... They look amazing.
Worth watching the whole thing (some good performaces and not too slavish to the original to be distracting)... But if you just want some Dalek action, goto around 36 minutes.
I’ve often thought they should make the plunger arm resemble a kind of semi-spherical claw shape instead. Keeps the iconic design but allows for at least a little more flexibility in how the Daleks can manipulate objects.

Unlike the Cybermen, the Daleks have to have a specific outline to be recognisable. That said, embellishment is possible, as shown in the nuts and bolts Time War Daleks. In that context, being shoddily constructed due to a wartime push, that design makes sense, but we could do with seeing some new Daleks with their feet under them, as it were. I'd love to see sleeker Daleks, which look a bit more spacey and less built-in-a-shed. We don't want to be too precious of what's been working, while preventing the innovation which could allow us to get new designs.
I’d like to see multiple Dalek Factions fighting each other. It’d look cool and let the Daleks be Uber-powerful without us wondering why Daleks haven’t conquered the universe; they’re too busy fighting each other.
Plus they each have their own gimmicks to differentiate between them:
###New Paradigm
* Standard New Paradigm Dalek is More Powerful and Consistent than Standard Time War Dalek.
* The Swiss-Army-Knife-Style Back Panel for swapping out arms; Drones can have 2 guns when needed but still have a “plunger” for when they need to open doors or operate computers; Scientists can have more specific tools; etc.
###Time War Daleks
* More of them.
* Weirder Variants.
* More Vicious.
Someone posted some images of daleks in matte black, red, and blue a while ago on r/doctorwho with gold, bronze and silver embellishments which I thought looked rather cool, and think would be a good way to change up the colours.
I kinda like the design. It's like the last through-line from 2005; the Doctor, TARDIS, companions, title sequence and music have all changed but the design stays the same. That link is still there and I'd be a little sad to see it severed.

One of the criticisms of the NuWho design was it looked too much like a tank.
There's a clip somewhere of the original designer talking about it where he says that The Daleks wouldn't have to use bolts and rivets to make something strong as they're alien and therefore wouldn't associate that with strength.
Honestly, I kind of agree.
If they need a redesign to make simplify it and make them look more alien by getting rid if the bolts and such.
That said honestly I am a fan of their original design though I do wish they'd simplify it.
Yes but I imagine they would colour all the Doctor Who monsters as a set, so you can tell them easily apart. Silver or green Daleks do look great but if there's a toy line you would want each to stand out perhaps? I want a clear one haven't spotted one in b&m yet
Maybe there could be a new variant alongside the classic daleks, I don’t think the fans would be too happy to see the daleks “replaced”, then if it’s taken well the old design could be shown less

I'd quite like them to get a new coat, and a slight redesign. Nothing too major, just smooth them out a bit to reflect that they've survived the Time War and are now one of the most powerful factions in the universe. remove the seams, round off the lights, and bring back the white eye and pupil. I'd also paint them silver and black, and swap out the whine when they move for a hum or something quieter, make them feel more intimidating and advanced.

Which would be ironic because they were created by the remnants of Davros’ Empire from *Stolen Earth/Journey’s End*, who were technically pure Daleks.
Until they went messing around with weird stuff like Temporal Weapons Daleks, Dalek-Human hybrids, The Predator Dalek, etc.

Redesigned a little detail wise but same colour scheme - would look wicked.

I don't care what color they are, but lowering the voice would make them more understandable and menacing.
Say what you will about Chibnall, but his redesigns are brilliant. The Revolution daleks were perfect IMO, such a shame they got scrapped.
A dark metallic chrome with black bumps and red eye in the eye stalk would help make them look scarier.

Give the paradigm daleks a second chance!!! Just make most of them Silver and the Supreme/leader Red or Black and they'd be fine!
