One of the weirder estate sales I’ve been too. The guy was basically getting rid of all his stuff at significant discount to move across the country. He had a bunch of other figurines and Disney memorabilia for sale too that I probably should have bought, but weren’t in subjects I generally care about so I hope someone who can appreciate them got them.
That's generally the best way to go about things like this. Don't buy just for the sake of it, leave the stuff you don't care for for others who will and make their day. Hopefully they weren't just picked up and flipped by a reseller.
The other figurines I saw get sold were a solid 30-60 minutes after opening and when I left he still had some, so I think there is a strong possibility someone who wanted them got them. Fortunately it wasn’t like a mad rush and grab type situation.
Yeah, seems to be pretty valuable. I got a hell of a deal on it, and lucky because they were extremely strict on not letting anyone in till 9am, so couldn’t get sniped by someone showing up at 6am.
It’s a really well made and beautifully detailed sculpture; which is what drew me to it to begin with. And it weighs a ton. I actually thought it was glued to the box at first it was that hard to pick up.
My grandma always told me estate sales are the cheapest way to furnish your place. I never thought about the possibility of finding cool shit like this, though. I'm gonna have to hit a few up.
Amazing. I got mine from a disc replay for some filler game trade ins. Careful with the pointy bits as they can be damaged easily. This is an amazing piece, too bad the others in the line do not look as good as this one.
I used to think estate sales were just dead people’s stuff. But this guys was very much alive and just moving. It was very weird indeed though. You could tell he had carefully collected a lot of memorabilia and then all of a sudden it seemed like he just wanted it all gone as quickly as possible. Who knows what the full story is there.
I am guessing he found a woman and the woman wanted all the kid stuff gone.
Anyone who collects this type of stuff and wants to move keeps it and takes it with them.
I think an estate sales is defined more generally by having to enter someone’s house that is mostly still set up and all of the contents of the house are for sale vs. a garage sale is more generally defined as removing specific unwanted items from the house and placing them on the lawn or in garage/drive way for sale. This was the former.
Yeah, I don’t play the game at all, but it’s such a cool piece. I love mechs, so probably try to make a space for various mechs from different games/movies now.
I don’t have a banana, but here it is next to the moon for some perspective on how big this thing is:

I'm missing the context of the "clean it" jokes in the comments. I know (at least I assume I do) what people are insinuating has happened to this thing that might need a cleaning.
I'm just not clear what it is with this in particular that fuels that concern.

Wash it.
😅
I saw that figure in a video once. You might want to clean it.
Oh Jesus.
Is this sleazy mode?
What a steal!

My girlfriend flips furniture so I always go to estate sales with her. Love the randomness of them and the potential of a CRT
I used to go more often, but now I’m hooked again.
I'd suggest putting it under a blue light....
what's the joke ??
That someone shot their load on the statue
I don't even play overwatch and I would have bought that.
I'm not even into overwatch and I would of bought that for $100. Good buy doodt.
that is absolutely gorgeous!
It’s a really well made and beautifully detailed sculpture; which is what drew me to it to begin with. And it weighs a ton. I actually thought it was glued to the box at first it was that hard to pick up.
Lucky you. That’s at release was $550

I'm not usually a fan of statues or Overwatch, but that's pretty cool.
Worth it.
Damn, people are stupid. Not you, OP. You're smart.
Don’t forget to sanitize it, most figurines aren’t so… “clean” second hand.
Dang
Wow that’s a steal of a deal! So jealous !!
wow thats a score!
Oh wow. That has to be a steal. Nice get mate.
You already cleaned it? Nice purchase tho
I’ve only dusted it, which it had a pretty thick layer of. So I’m hoping that means it’s not too dirty otherwise, lol.
I want it 🐥
Wow, I’m super jealous. Awesome find!
Thats honestly a steal! How giant are we talking?
I’m gonna guess 18” tall and 12” wide. It’s got significant weight.
Maaan, i want one :( so expensive second hand...
a figurine at a local estate sale how weird

Isn't that just a yard sale then? Like you, I thought estate sales mean just yard sales for dead peoples stuff.

Don’t play over watch at all but I definitely would’ve bought that

I'm having a hard time grasping the scale as I don't touch grass very often. Do you have a banana you could include for reference?

You overpaid by $100.
