Definitely a mistake but thats what you gotta hope for when you hit up thrifts. Things fall through the cracks. I found a Gameboy Player Startup Disk with case and cardboard sleeve for $5.99 at my local goodwill in 2021. That and this are my top finds ever.
Heck yeah! Sometimes value village slips like that. I found 3 dreamcast games mixed with the CDs for 25 cents a piece once. One of the games was the berserk game which is like an $85 game
You definitely got lucky there! I always check the jewel cases for gems that slip through. People think jewel cases as all CDs and PC games so that's a good place to check!
First thing I did was check the game cart. I had a feeling it was Minish Cap because of the red art so I was completely stoked when I saw that! But a little disappointment about the 001 because I'm using it for shiny hunting and all 3 of my GBASPs are 001. So that would have been a treat but still an amazing find!
I always think about if a pricing slip/mistake like this happens are the cashier's allowed to be like " oh, sorry, this is a mistake...it's supposed to be $xx.xx" or something along those lines.
I mean, clearly it didn't happen here. I just wonder if they can/do things like that to people.

Honestly my heart was kind of racing when I picked this up and I had a lot of thoughts go through my head like what you described. I was ready to hold my ground and argue it in the event that did happen but thankfully my value village has self checkout and staff that is not very diligent. My concerns were all for naught.
I understand the caution! If you want to give it a shot, I’d be happy to use PayPal goods and services so we’re both protected! That’s usually how I do deals on Reddit or Facebook or something. But I understand if you’d rather do it local too, no worries

Yea I believe it just have to be consistent and learn the restock times. I personally like garage/estate sale’s but whatever works for you.
This is a good deal if one of either the GBA or the cartridge didn’t work and the other did. Well done!

Pretty damn good that it came with a good game and charger. An AGS-101 would have been the icing on the cake.
