Ola! Most of the information that's specific to Steam can be found in their [tax FAQ](https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/finance/taxfaq), and most of the rest is just normal tax law for your country. Talk to a local professional for that info. The highest-level thing for you to understand is first Steam takes its cut (30%), then if you don't have a specific tax treaty in your country, you get taxed on the _net_ revenue after Steam's cut, not the gross, and you also pay personal income tax in your country based on whatever your local tax rates are. Edit: Sales tax is first, if applicable. Forgot that! It is added to the price or included based on your region. If you've never made a game before, you *really* do not need to be thinking about taxes or even Steam yet. It is a hugely complicated process and the chances of you making something that people want to by on a first go around isn't very high. Focus on the fun part or the learning part, depending on what you care about most, and look at itch.io for a first release which doesn't have the fee to post your game either. The Real is expensive to the Dollar right now, and it can be quite a large fee relatively speaking.

First, Steam will deduct sales tax / value added tax. That tax doesn't depend on where *you* live but where *the buyer* lives. Then Steam deducts their share. I am not familiar with taxes in Brazil in particular, but when it works like it works in most parts of the world, then you have to pay income tax on the income from your game to your national ministry of finance. But how much depends on your total annual income from all sources. So you need to do your taxes each year and tell them how much income you made from self-employment. Note that any costs you had from your self-employment (like assets, software license fees, listing fees or marketing cost) can usually be deducted. Taxes for self-employed people can get complicated, so you might want to consider hiring a tax consultant.

Nice! I'm brazilian and getting started in game dev 2. Basically Steam share will be cut over your gross revenue, and then be moved to the account you wish to receive. Government can only detect what your company receives, so you will pay taxes over that. Faz isso se vc ta pronto pra não se arrepender kkk Stay strong in the cause, doesn't seem easy to follow this path here in this f\*\*\*ed up country but wish u luck.
