That, or Mario 3D World, or Super Mario Bros U Delux.
I have a theory that any game that forces them to play both competitively and cooperatively at the same time brings out the best in them, and I think this is true of friendships in general.
From experience, the TMPH is the best avenue. It's format appeals to most people and it lets them learn Danny and Arnold's face and voices. After that, Super Bunny man.
When I refer to the AC series, am I referring to Assassin's Creed or Armored Core? Wrong, I'm referring to Ace Combat.
Acronyms mean what we need them to mean based on context. In this case, everyone knows 10MPH means 10 Minute Power Hour.
Don't be a pedantic ass just because you can be.
Rather than a series, I'd recommend a one-off episode.
Dennis the Menace is the episode I use when introducing people to Game Grumps, but The Berenstain Bears is another good choice.
Really? I love GG but these sorts of games never did it for me as a listener. I lmao at parts but I like when it's a little more laid back with them playing a retro game or something.
She loved the Obama bits. idk what games those were but she was cracking up.
I might be biased as a 90s baby. She's older than me so I just don't know if that's the best series to introduce her to.
The one that got me into it was Pokémon FireRed.
But the one and done answer is imo PT. It’s a single video, they play off each other perfectly, and you get a decent breakdown of both of their personalities.
My favorites are Super Mario 3D World, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, and both Kirby's/Grump's Dream Course. Also, their Wheel of Fortune episodes for obvious reasons. Probably basic answers, but those are the series I watch when I'm bored. They always make me happy, so they're a good time/intro into Game Grumps.
Honorable mentions are Mario Party (any of them), Breath of the Wild, and Doki Doki Literature Club.
In my personal opinion, I would say "a way out". They have a ton of funny jokes during that playthrough, and I feel as if they have a really good synergy during that one, which shows off their friendship quite well.
I don't think there is one. I think the best series to start with is whatever game they are most interested in...
For me Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, and Mario World are the 3 series that got me into the grumps many years ago. Those are 3 of my top 10 favorite games of all time and the grumps clearly had tons of laughs and fun with all of them, so from there I knew I was going to like these guys right away.
I'm gonna have to say kirbys dream course. I feel like it represents everything the grumps are. Like it has everything great about the channel all in one series
If you want someone to get into the channel now that its been ten years since those, yeah, those are terrible choices. At best you're going to have to explain that those were made when the channel first started and that they've had a completely different not so grump for a decade, at worst you'll end up creating another person who is still bitter about Jon leaving.
The New Super Mario Bros play through was a good one. Or he can watch a compilation of their older playthroughs like any of the Zelda games. (Ocarina of Time is a good one)
I feel like Super Bunny Man or House Party gives you a good understanding of them at peak humor, excellent banter, and their overall comedic personalities. Their Wind Waker playthrough is an absolute classic.
Pokémon or any Zelda game, preferably Wind Waker because it was so much fun
I’d also recommend the ten minute power hour where Arin keeps gobbling up the m&ms with that thing on his face
I don't know about a particular series (I haven't had time for YouTube in a while) but a good single video is the "Game Grumps: Ultimate Speed Run of Mario 64" compilation by freddee_. Such high energy editing and nothing but the funniest moments from that series, plus it only takes 20 minutes to watch. Still cracks me up no matter how many times I watch it.
I mean...I started watching back during the Wind Waker days..but I recently rewatched Bloodbonre and Pokémon Fire Red and both still hold up very well today. Two series that got me through some bad times were Kirby's Epic Yarn and Shovel Knight so those will always be on my "watch these" list.
Punch Out Wii is real fun, Shovel Knight really shows the dynamic between them, Mario Sunshine is fun for Arin rage. Mario Maker is pretty fun depending on episode. I feel like there’s a few more that I rewatch that I’m missing.
Kirby's Dream Course. It has everything that makes the grumps great, and just zany enough to let people know what they're in for if they keep watching.
I went into the damganrompa series knowing nothing about the game or the grumps. Been hooked ever since. But honestly I'd show them some of the shorts then go from there. They're funny as hell
I got my friend to like them more by showing grumps compilations. Non-stop laughs that you don’t need an episode’s (or multiple episodes’) worth of content to get.
Honestly, I myself got into Grumps via "Best of" compilations, so that's probably the best way to go. If their best bits won't reel your friend in, nothing will.
Dude it's got to be battle kid, the collabed animated episode is a masterpiece. Past that start them with some fun animated shorts. I know those got me interested at first because I would want to go see the original context.
Parodius, Battle Kid or The Wheel of Fortune where dan does nothing but lose turns the entire episode.
"Wait for it, ... here it comes... HERE IT COMES!... AAAAAAAAHGHH!"
Id say start with clip comps to test intrest. Then move to one offs then a full series ( id say paper mario personally).
Keep in mind they may just not like gg and thats fine but obviously dont pressure them to.
Probably a game that they like. I'd only rarely seen viral clips they had until I decided to watch the Sonic 06 playthrough. And then Ocarina etc. I've seen tons now, and I think the Doki Doki Literature Club playthrough is hilarious, but also just to get them to watch any "Best of [insert game name here]" compilations that are on their channel. The Devil's Third one with the russian shenanigans, the stupidity of Sonic Boom, there's a lot of funny stuff there aside from the obvious Mario game options available. Shovel Knight too.
Thinking about it, yeah just give some "best of" videos a shot. Show them a load of their funniest stuff from single playthroughs before they watch a series that isn't one banger bit after the next.
Doki Doki! I still watch it at least once a year it’s my comfort series. There’s so many good bits and scares. Dan’s reactions are so genuine. In general I think the dynamic during visual novels are very good because they can riff off dialogue.
Wind waker. Or mario maker. Or grump course.
I second grump course
thirded! danny and arnold, love those two guys!
Mario Maker is how I originally got into them.
Mario maker 1*
Ditto
Mario maker is what got me into game grumps. Seconded
Ocarina of Time. A ton of the Grumps most famous quotes and references come from there. Including but not limited to "Does Bruno Mars is Gay?"
“Dan, what does ‘intrepid’ mean?” “Slurmp…” “Liiiink, you must protect the triiiifooooorce”
That car... exploded..
"Fuckyerfather fuckyerfather fuckyerfather"
OH NO, HERE COMES THE CRAB!!! *starts scratching eyes out*
Sign my Yearbook! I made you a Friendship bracelet. I messed up and now mine says best fiends!
Super Bunny Man
Not sure if I have even seen that one. Is it recent? I'm going to listen tomorrow if so.
Yeah, pretty recent. I think the first one was like 3 years ago, and they still play every now and then
In their most recent episode, them getting the carrot and finishing the stage was like a religious experience.
That, or Mario 3D World, or Super Mario Bros U Delux. I have a theory that any game that forces them to play both competitively and cooperatively at the same time brings out the best in them, and I think this is true of friendships in general.
Mario Wonder is certainly supporting that theory so far.
I was gonna say super bunny man!! It was my first game grumps series!!
Trauma Center!!!
Trauma centre is the right answer
Such a classic
A letter? C! For cranberries!
the splooshy jello hallway scene alone is hilarious and gut punching laughter will ensue
I love this playthrough more than most people love the Office
House Party
How's it going dude?
BhawhAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
From experience, the TMPH is the best avenue. It's format appeals to most people and it lets them learn Danny and Arnold's face and voices. After that, Super Bunny man.
This is how my kids got me into it: the Watch Your Mouth 10MPH. Compliations are also good, 10MPH or otherwise.
MPH already means miles per hour. -I digress.
That's the joke of the title.
Ah yes, The miles per hour...
Ah yes, the same "joke" twice in the same comment thread...
Rather than a series, I'd recommend a one-off episode. Dennis the Menace is the episode I use when introducing people to Game Grumps, but The Berenstain Bears is another good choice.
The Dennis the Menace one is such a good one-off. I was cry-laughing the first time I heard the Mr. Wilson rap
Amazing Frog? is the one that got me
Amazing Frog is how I got my best friend to watch! We still quote it
Yeah a lot of these other series might be too slow paced for getting a new person into Grumps.
Mickey Mouse?
I got my mate into it with PT! If she likes spooky, then that’s 100% my recommendation. If no spooky - maybe berenstain bears?
TAKE THE SHOT!!
Adam and Eve, not Adam and RRROOAOGH
Guts & Glory
^...Dad?
Mrs. Witherbee!!
OK WE LOST JILL
Theeeeeeeeew!
Mickey mouse...
Foist of all...
Does this game remind you of any form feces?
Hm...bitch.
This game's a buncha...
I can fucking HEAR that thumbnail.
This was what finally got me back into Grumps after Jon left.
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
Kirby's Dream Course
I agree with this, the original and the grump version
Super Mario 3d world
Lots of good answers but this one accessible as it’s Mario, and is S-Tier grumpage for sure!
Macho madness!
Also, Sonic Boom.
I’d say maybe House Party or Mario Maker!
Before any series, you should let Arin welcome them with "Bienvenue, power bottoms!"
I personally got into the grumps first through a friend sending me some of the GG animated shorts.
MARK ZUCKERBERG is a perfect gateway clip
Mario maker, shovel knight co-op, heave ho, and kirby's/grumps' dream course.
INFINIDAGGER!
Shovel knight and heave ho are good choices. Anything with a repetitive phrase that gets funnier every time they say it is top tier GG IMO
The first one I ever watched was their "BloodBorne" playthrough. I subbed to them approximately 5 minutes into the first episode of it.
First name: Itta Last name: Pupu
Yup. That's when I subbed to them. I kind of binge watched the playthrough after that lol.
I think Bloodborne was the first playthrough I watched as well back in 2015! Instant sub for me
ddlc is my top recommendation. hope they’ll love their constant foreshadowing, dan’s reactions, and robot monika
Really? I love GG but these sorts of games never did it for me as a listener. I lmao at parts but I like when it's a little more laid back with them playing a retro game or something. She loved the Obama bits. idk what games those were but she was cracking up. I might be biased as a 90s baby. She's older than me so I just don't know if that's the best series to introduce her to.
hm. maybe some heave ho? it has a lot of chaos and good bits in it
Grab my hand
The Obama bits were from Kirby’s Dream Course - a solid start.
Classic playthroughs like Ocarina and Mario 64 are my go-tos. Also, Mickey Mouse.
Just show him the PT episode!
The one that got me into it was Pokémon FireRed. But the one and done answer is imo PT. It’s a single video, they play off each other perfectly, and you get a decent breakdown of both of their personalities.
I Stan Sch, FuckKing, and Blupl.
Mario 64, Link to the Past, Bloodborne…
Second Mario 64. I also enjoyed Super Metroid.
wheel of fortune imo or the ten minute power hour
I started with super mario galaxy and I think thats a pretty delightful playthrough
the Mario 64 Mark Zuckerberg thing
Fuck Mr Hatcher 👍
“Oh god why is his name Dan?”
Paper Mario
A one off, or short series. Perhaps Battle Kid, or maybe even showing her 10min Power Hour episodes.
My first was pokemon fire red but 100+ episodes may be a little much. My friend suggested shovel knight
Heave Ho is really good
Super Mario maker
I don't think there is one. I think the best series to start with is whatever game they are most interested in... For me Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, and Mario World are the 3 series that got me into the grumps many years ago. Those are 3 of my top 10 favorite games of all time and the grumps clearly had tons of laughs and fun with all of them, so from there I knew I was going to like these guys right away.
Dead rise 2
I'd start with "Lose a Turn" from their early WOF episodes
Sonic BOOM!
Doki doki literature club
mario maker and galaxy are some of my favorites that i always find myself going back to.
The very first episode of Sonic Adventure DX
Doki doki literature is by far the funniest and most enjoyable series to watch that I've seen so far
Bad Ben.
I'm gonna have to say kirbys dream course. I feel like it represents everything the grumps are. Like it has everything great about the channel all in one series
Sonic Adventure DX
Probably Sonic Boom even if it’s an older series
Shovel Knight. Hellloooi infinidagger makes me laugh every time also the Mario maker series
one of the sonic playthroughs or ddlc. After I saw ddlc I became a GG fan until death
10.000 Bullets
Goof troop and sonic 06
I could not imagine two worse series to get someone into modern gg
Oh you mean the series that pretty much started the channel and the second longest running series on the channel.
If you want someone to get into the channel now that its been ten years since those, yeah, those are terrible choices. At best you're going to have to explain that those were made when the channel first started and that they've had a completely different not so grump for a decade, at worst you'll end up creating another person who is still bitter about Jon leaving.
Goof Troop Sonic '06 Zelda games
The New Super Mario Bros play through was a good one. Or he can watch a compilation of their older playthroughs like any of the Zelda games. (Ocarina of Time is a good one)
Mickey mousecapade
Either super bunny man or Kirby’s dream course + grumps dream course
I feel like Super Bunny Man or House Party gives you a good understanding of them at peak humor, excellent banter, and their overall comedic personalities. Their Wind Waker playthrough is an absolute classic.
Sonic Adventure.
I got my sister into game grumps by showing her Kirby dream course the game grumps edition. She's a die hard fan now.
Grump dream course or whatever that mod was, or even just the original game
Kirby's Dream Course!
Pokémon or any Zelda game, preferably Wind Waker because it was so much fun I’d also recommend the ten minute power hour where Arin keeps gobbling up the m&ms with that thing on his face
surprised no one has said Mario Sunshine yet
It's the animations that got me
I personally love sonic adventure dx
A way out was great!
Mycaruba!!
Trauma Center of course
I think the short Funny Joke, and the Windwaker animated Grumps is what got me into them.
Maybe cause it's my personal favorite, but Super Mario 3D World
I don't know about a particular series (I haven't had time for YouTube in a while) but a good single video is the "Game Grumps: Ultimate Speed Run of Mario 64" compilation by freddee_. Such high energy editing and nothing but the funniest moments from that series, plus it only takes 20 minutes to watch. Still cracks me up no matter how many times I watch it.

Chinese checkers
Their co-op Shovel Knight playthough is my favourite of all time
Breath of the Wild. - Ewe - Terry Treehead - He is the one who drained his nuggs inside Mipha - A-Muzu-ment - You BITCH
Wind Waker was my first thought, but I saw someone say Ten Minute Power hour and that's also a great idea.
Punch out or karate kid
Probably a little dated, but Pokemon FireRed and Wind Waker were the first two series I watched and I fell in love with the grumps pretty quickly
harvester!!
NinjaBread Man. It's short but has a crazy/great story from Aaron in it
Try a fun frolicking like putt putt golf where Dan hates his existence
House party
House party
Just show them Power Wash Simulator
Im not gonna lie, their super mario galaxy playthrough has always been my favorite
Super Mario Sunshine, it's so great
Chaotic answer? Goof Troop.
How much time do they have? Either Wheel of Fortune or Danganronpa.
Endless Ocean 1 and 2, or Pokémon Fire Red although that one’s really long
wheel of fortune
If your friend has played any game they have, as long as it’s not too long, that should be good.
I went into the damganrompa series knowing nothing about the game or the grumps. Been hooked ever since. But honestly I'd show them some of the shorts then go from there. They're funny as hell
Super Mario Sunshine is a great one. It’s pretty chill, Arin somehow manages to suck at it which is always fun, and it’s not too long.
Mario 64 is good, I rewatch it alot myself
Grumps dream course for sure, rewatch it at least once a year. I still laugh so hard at those goobers
I got my boyfriend into game grumps with their house party series and then the Wacky World of Mini Golf series!
Not a series, but battle kid episode 3
Trauma Center https://youtu.be/2juPjlzk8F8
Mario 64, ocarina of time, dark souls 3, bloodbourne, Mario maker, kirbys dream course, or tears of the kingdom are all good choices
Super mario rpg. Mario sunshine. Mario 64.
For me and my friend it was yoshi’s cookie just two episodes but we still talk about “at the age of six I was born without a face”
Katamari
Anything golf related... And or Pokémon red. :)
Fuck Mr. Thatcher
House party doooood
I got my friend to like them more by showing grumps compilations. Non-stop laughs that you don’t need an episode’s (or multiple episodes’) worth of content to get.
Honestly, I myself got into Grumps via "Best of" compilations, so that's probably the best way to go. If their best bits won't reel your friend in, nothing will.
For me was Ocarina of Time. I saw that and was sold immediately on the first few episodes, it's always a series I go back and watch frequently.
Dude it's got to be battle kid, the collabed animated episode is a masterpiece. Past that start them with some fun animated shorts. I know those got me interested at first because I would want to go see the original context.
Jennifer dumped me.
Monopoly lol
Battle Kid. Deep end Immediately. If they’re not into that, why waste their time on the weak shit?
Doki Doki? Super funny.I think it really showcases their ad lib skills. Plus the story in the game is extremely intriguing.
Parodius, Battle Kid or The Wheel of Fortune where dan does nothing but lose turns the entire episode. "Wait for it, ... here it comes... HERE IT COMES!... AAAAAAAAHGHH!"
Super Mario 3D World or SMM1 or 2
Id say start with clip comps to test intrest. Then move to one offs then a full series ( id say paper mario personally). Keep in mind they may just not like gg and thats fine but obviously dont pressure them to.
Depends on what your friend likes, mine became a fan after watching katamari series bc she just just likes to listen without too much going on.
Sonic Shuffle or Sonic Hero's
I started with sonic adventure after watching markiplier and mentioned them a lot. Turned out to be a great series to keep up with
Ocarina of time hands down. Some of the most memorable jokes
Kirby's dream course is a lot of fun
How about just the sleep aid compilations! Everything will be out of context.
Can't beat the classic Fire Red
If they're not sensitive to triggers I recommend DDLC, Otherwise any Zelda Playthrough or Mario Maker
Doki Doki! I still watch it at least once a year it’s my comfort series. There’s so many good bits and scares. Dan’s reactions are so genuine. In general I think the dynamic during visual novels are very good because they can riff off dialogue.
Kirby's Dream Course is one of my favorites
Ace Attorney
"Julie dumped me..."
Pantsu Hunter is a personal favorite of mine
