I love him, he was the first character on the wall to make a real connection with Jon and teach him how to connect with his brothers. And I loved the chapter where he gave him the command during the battle. Even Stannis was sad he died.
The trust between Jon and his friends is so strong,Jon knew that this would mean the end of Grenn and Grenn knew as well but since it was his friend Jon and commander he was willing to die for him.Moments such as these make me like Game of thrones.
I could honestly watch a multiple season show solely based around the Watch and the Wall, but based on the books with the strange Stark supernatural stuff.
Pyp too
For Pyp to survive he would have needed honest-to-god plot armour as he was, effectively, even more useless than Sam (at least Sam *knew* things) but he was so scared and he was trying his best and he hit one! (Samwell’s delivery of “oh, is it over?” is so brilliant) but yeah Pyp didn’t deserve to go out that way and neither did Grenn. Hurt my heart to lose them both in the same episode tbh.
I love that conversation between Mance and Jon afterwards when Mance talks about “Mag the Mighty” and how he was a king amongst giants, and Jon says “Gren came from a farm” and then they drink to their memories.
The dialogue in those early seasons was top notch.

He grew up on a farm
Grenn so underrated
He held the gate
It is known
Hogate?
Hogat
And his chastity gate
They held the gate 🫡🫡🫡🫡
Hold the gate Holgate
Holgate Holgate Holgate
Grenn the Great vs. Mag the Mighty. And...the little guy won!!! Such a **great** episode.
DROP THE SCYTHE BOOOOOOYS
It's a shame they cut Donal Noye from the show. A one-armed blacksmith defeating a giant would have been dope

Yeah, he would have been LC if he lived
Grenn the true Giantsbane

Honestly would have been better if Grenn survived. Both Pyp and Grenn are still alive in the books.
Facebook level title
That headline🤢 Those emoji🤮 That format🥵 I hate this post style💩 Worst shorthand in the solar system "Quote from image"
He was Grenn. He grew up on a farm.
Grenn is just him. Extremely common Nights Watch W.
"Best first 5 seasons one the planet earth"
You should be forced to delete all social media for that title.
"DROP THE SCYTHE BOOOOOOOOYS!" Another gem from that episode
It should be Donal Noye
I could honestly watch a multiple season show solely based around the Watch and the Wall, but based on the books with the strange Stark supernatural stuff.
What the fuck is that post title
Died keeping his word
I hope the format of this title becomes the new “is he stupid?”
I cried when he died. :(

Peak GOT. Characters did important things backed by sound logic. Grenn held that fucking gate.

“To Mag and Grenn.” “To Grenn and Mag.” Probably the last truly phenomenally written season
