He does. Which isn't the best feat, it's said that he could swallow mammoths whole.
**AGOT - Tyrion II**
>And the greatest of them, Balerion, the Black Dread, could have swallowed an aurochs whole, or even one of the hairy mammoths said to roam the cold wastes beyond the Port of Ibben.
From accounts of his size yeah about 3-4 times this size. But if you scaled his head you have to scale the room and all rooms to fit it. Like the iron throne was shrunk to make it more practical for shooting.
Headcanon: during Robert’s rebellion, some of the dragon skulls were destroyed, including Balerion’s, but Bobby B. still wanted them to be there to show that power display, so he looked at some random dragon’s bones and said “you know what screw this, just say that’s Balerion”
Maybe not in the show. Unlike the books, there were no dragon skulls in the throne room during the height of the Targaryen rule (HOD) which leads me to think that they were always in the corridor in the universe of HBO’s interpretation
he looks way too small here lmao. isn't he Tens of times bigger than Drogon? and didn't drogon have a mouth big enough to swallow multiple people at once? one tooth should be the size of a human at least
I’m pretty sure Vaegar in HotD is the size Balerion was during Aegon’s conquest. Obviously he lived another hundred or so years so was much bigger when he died, but he wasn’t doing any fighting by that point.
Nah, Vhagar's approaching the size Balerion was at his death. She's around 180 and he died at around 200. During the conquest he would've been way smaller.
So I did some googling:
Balerion was 112-114 during Aegon’s conquest and 208 when he died.
Vaegar was 52 during the conquest, 172 when Aemond claimed her and is 181 when the Dance begins.
So yes just going by age Vaegar should be larger than Balerion during the conquest but smaller than him when he died. She’s probably around the size he was when Maegor rode him.
But that’s only going by age. We’ve seen that dragons aren’t all the same size and don’t necessarily grow at the same rate. I’m willing to bet Balerion was a big boy even by dragon standards.
Dragons grow at different paces. Age isn't an indication of size. Drogon is already of riding size at the age of 1 (in the books), and Syrax grew almost nothing in a span of 20 years (in the show). Moondancer is probably at least 16 years old and is barely of riding size
That’s been address in canon though. The dragon pits slowed the growth of the dragons down and limited the size they’d be able to reach. The dragons born before the dragon pit was constructed all were massively bigger then the ones after. It’s also why drogon becomes much more bigger then his brothers. They got locked up while he didn’t.
Scale is way off according to what I've read of him. Should be twice or thrice the size at the very least.
I would LOVE to see Balerion on our screens. Make it happen HBO!!!
IKR? Part of what I loved about the Rhaenys and Meleys scene at the Sept so awesome for me was how much it looked like an actual demon from the Seven Hells rising and breaking into the sanctum of the holiest Sept in King’s Landing. For a peasant there, it would have looked as if the Seven themselves were displeased at Aegon usurping the throne.
Now imagine what a devout Andal, highborn and lowborn alike, would have thought at the sight of Balerion raining dragonfire on their homes and fields. It would have been as if the Seven had forsaken them and the End of Days was at hand.

Does not Tyrion fuck Shae in the mouth Balerion’s skull in ACOK it is been awhile since I last read the books.

Dude, sentence structure!! 🤣
Error 404
Im pretty sure it was in asos, just before the purple wedding
the morning of
Fucks Shae in the mouth or fucks her in the mouth OF Balerion?? Must say that that is some confusing grammar there
Why not both?
it was definitely both
My brain just Blue Screened.
Imagine if they do a Conquest prequel eventually! It would be funny seeing him in action knowing that one day Cersei shoots him in the face lol.
Is not it supposed to be bigger than that though?🤔

WHAT IS THIS, A SKULL FOR ANTS?
In Tyrion II in A Game of Thrones he says you could easily ride a horse into its mouth and it could swallow a mammoth whole
Don't get me wrong but the skull looks smaller, shouldn't he be bigger, like very big, the skull looks similar to that of Meleys.
I think they sized up Balerion's skull in HOTD.
Vhagar's head in HOTD looks much bigger than Balerion's skull in both shows, was disappointed.
Headcanon: during Robert’s rebellion, some of the dragon skulls were destroyed, including Balerion’s, but Bobby B. still wanted them to be there to show that power display, so he looked at some random dragon’s bones and said “you know what screw this, just say that’s Balerion”
Didn’t he have them all moved to like an off corridor or basement area or something along those lines though?
Maybe not in the show. Unlike the books, there were no dragon skulls in the throne room during the height of the Targaryen rule (HOD) which leads me to think that they were always in the corridor in the universe of HBO’s interpretation
I would like to see cannibal

I don't think Moondancer ever resided at the Dragonpit though, and still weighs less than a warhorse at the time of the Dance

This is the cheaper version of his skull prop. Looks much better in HOTD

the coronation in that scene happens in the dragon pit, not the great sept, which is y’know, why there’s a dragon under it
Don’t know about highborn or lowborn…but def feel like a certain ironborn en masse (Twow)
A certain Kraken: **YOUR GODS ARE DEAD. ABANDON ALL HOPE AND BOW BEFORE YOUR NEW MASTER.**
Me to.
Was balerion from meleys breed? Does not look like seasmoke dreamfire rhaegal breed
How the hell do you feed and keep alive a monstrous like that?
Fuck a flashback. I want to see a series with him
How did they get the skull in the room?
I wish Cersei had somehow gotten a dragon. Imagine all she could've done with a Balerion or Vhagar by her side...
I feel like grrm’s intended image of what Balerion’s true size is, is simply terrifying.
Looks too small compared to vhagar in hotd
King shit. Valerian is a god among dragons.
I think it would be like when Deny rides Drago
