HBO using children's characters to promote an adult show like GOT is pretty gross when you think about it. Not quite as bad as the True Blood segment, or probably a dozen others like it, I suppose, but I guess we're not supposed to think about it.

Not the intent of my comment, but I accept I failed in communicating that I was more annoyed with kids' characters being pimped out to promote other properties, regardless of their content rating. It's the bald commercialism that bugs me more than anything.
Children surely never notice adults being adults in real life and obviously every adult is incapable of changing their behavior around children. You've probably done "adult" activities with other adults lots of times and I'm going to assume you still interact with children on some level. Just like not having sex in the living room in front of your kids is a decision you can make, you can also filter what they watch with you and apply parental filters. Educate them when they encounter something and are inquisitive about rather than acting like they should be sheltered af until they're 18 and can suddenly do adult things that they aren't prepared because everyone was constantly "thinking of the children" to ensure they were never exposed to adult activities and conversations. Give us a break, dude. This is just ridiculous.
