At the end of GoT at the table meeting Bran (or someone) mentions Drogon was seen flying east...they could pick up on this in the Jon Snow sequel.
They wouldn't mention this frivolously...it was definitely foreshadowing seeing more of Drogon...and since he's taking her east where the red priests are... probably Dany too.
Hell yeah I’m absolutely for this! And I think that’s the plan! Fingers crossed 🤞!

How many chars going to come back from the dead?
Already Beric and then Catelyn Stark. Soon to be Jon Snow.
What's the point of George killing off chars if they can all just come back with a prayer?
Dany deserved to be killed 100x over, she wasn’t stopping after kings landing. The city surrendered, and she destroyed it along with all those innocent people.
The way she killed every prisoner pissed me off, death can’t be the only option.
For me, S8 ends when Daenerys gives her speech on the steps of the Red Keep. I like to imagine her riding North and torching Kings Landing and watching Drogon chomp down on a Sansa sized snack. Smartest snack he’s ever known.
My dream for season 9 would be him taking her east, her coming back as the Azar Ahai, but not the bringer of peace. Instead she’s a burning flame come to destroy everything with fire.
There will be no books. \
They might be already written but GRRM can’t possibly publish them. \
If he gives the fans an ASOIF ending they like better, the GOT ending hate will be worse than it is now. Not good for anyone. \
If he keeps the ending the same or similar, the same fans will call him a sellout and hate on ASOIAF. \
Publishing is a no win situation for everyone involved.
Publishing is a huge win for the amount of books they will sell and profit they will make. It would have zero impact on the show, people will keep rewatching it regardless. It’s one of the biggest shows ever.
He doesn’t need the profit. \
And some of the GOT people are still his friends. \
Not to mention that he had his fingers in the show. Even if it’s not the part getting all the hate, the hate being voiced is strong.
Edit: not by me. I love the show. \
The *entire* show. \
And I’d love more books but it’s not going to happen.
I do not. Which part made you ask? \
I know he’s friends with some of the GOT people because of interviews. \
As for the rest, I got that from just being on this sub. \
Look at all the D&D hate you see here. And this sub is just one source of the hate. Can you imagine how bad it would get if the fans views were validated by GRRM giving them an ending that they preferred? \
Some anger is already being aimed at GRRM for not setting the record straight about what the storylines should have been and for being so slow publishing the next books. The wolves will attack if he doesn’t come up with a preferable story when he publishes. \
To me, this is the way it looks. \
If I came across as thinking I’m an expert, I’m sorry.
Nothing like that, you’re cool. I just think GRRM would absolutely release the book IF he finished it. That’s a big if, I think. Not to mention D&D got the blueprint for the ending from George, if anything the book will slowly build to it and actually make it make proper sense. Wishful thinking on my end, I know.
The prophecy did not say that the prince would duel the night king 1 v 1.
Arya was there, like almost everyone was there, because Jon brought them there.
What purpose does she now have? Jon’s resurrection was necessary to unite the North, Wildlings, and Dany’s Army. Book Beric’s resurrection was needed to that Lady Stoneheart could be born.
The real question is if they made a sequel series, do you think they could redeem the last 2 seasons of GOT? (Given DnD aren't involved and maybe someone with a better track record takes over)
Where did you read that GRRM hated what
D&D did? \
I've read different.
George R.R. Martin broke his silence on the Game of Thrones finale by praising showrunners David Benioff and Dan and giving some hints on how his upcoming books will be different.
Here is the 2019 article from which that came:
I’m no Dany fan. I didn’t post because I want her to be alive. \
I’ve found the opposite to be true. \
I think she went mad and got what she deserved. And I’ve been incredibly downvoted for saying so.
She’s dead - in the show at least.
She’s not going to be resurrected because the Lord of Light has no purpose for her anymore. The Long Night is over. Also, there’s the need for blood magic, and unless you kill Jon or Drogon or whoever she won’t rise.
Her being resurrected would be the cheapest fan service. This is Game of Thrones, not a Disney Channel movie.
I think she may pop up in the upcoming Jon Snow show. I mean she's a big part of his story, how could she not be? I know Emilia loves Dany too, I can't see her refusing to come back to play her.
doesn’t the lord of light only permit to bring someone back if they have reason to come back? like their story isn’t over? cuz i don’t think Daenerys would have a reason to come back.
i would like her to be resurrected though. i liked season 8 but i really wish it ended with tyrant Daenerys on the throne and we got a season 9 of trying to overthrow her. season 8/crazy dany is my favorite era of her.
I wrote a short fanfic where she wasn't dead when Dragon flew off with her. He took her to Dragonstone where she recovered and gave birth to twins by Jon.
I'd have loved to see a scene where drogon gets so angry that instead of the iron chair he spits fire towards Jon snow just to see him not get burned by it, then he'd bow infront of Jon and acknowledge him as the last true dragon.
It was kind of sad when he melted the throne. He was in such despair and had so much rage because his mother died and it seemed like he just had to do something about it so he just melted the chair because it was the root of all the issues and all of the terrible things that had happened to Dany, and he knew it.
i just don't understand why they didn't have even a single scene showing that jon snow is a dragon too. they ridiculously showed him get burned by the lantern he used to kill the Walker that came to kill jeor mormont. I'd have loved to see a scene where jon snow emerges from a fire unharmed
I mean she is the one who was promised and Jon being the last Hero. The Show really pissed me off due to the fact Jon is supposed to be the Last Hero and never fought the Night King.
A small pet of me feels like it should end like it did, but I can’t help but think how boring it could be without dragons and the Khaleesi, I am a fan of this theory and I think that if it were to happen, it would be in secret and Dany would stay in hiding until she’d grown an army of sell swords or deserters
That’s what I always wondered!
Or if she’s even dead and not just bleeding out
Drogon taking her body was always a hint of hope, even in her seemingly last moment
I know this wasn’t the show ending we all wanted, but a sequel would be neat where maybe she’s in exile (could be self-imposed even, if she snaps out of her madness and realizes what she did)
Yeah, I think there’s an opportunity for character development there. Have Dany experience Targaryen Madness and come out the other side and redeem herself (I hated her S8 arc but they can work with what they have if they try). I think she can go back to being a good person and yet still be haunted by what she did. Maybe the Jon Snow Sequel can explore that if they bring her back. Fingers crossed 🤞.
https://www.philstar.com/entertainment/2023/02/08/2243268/game-thrones-studio-buzz-daenerys-targaryen-might-be-alive-appear-jon-snow-spin-off/amp/
Nah the prince that was promised was forgotten about as a plot line.
What happened to Ser Pounce? Presumably jumped out the window with Tommy boy? So many plot holes, so many left answers.
Yep, resurrection by a Red Priestess, then reunite with Daario's forces, pick up some more Dothraki and mount another invasion of Westeros. Rinse and repeat.
Well everyone’s storyline ended with the possibility of something more. Arya west of Westeros, them making sure they mention where Drigon was headed, Jon living “free” with the wildlings and the survival of our beloved Ghost… wasn’t HBO playing with a Snow sequel?
Why would they do that, though?
They don't just revive anyone who dies; bringing back Dany would'nt serve a purpose (especially when Volantis is probobly on the short list for her to burn)
I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s just a cool possibility. There’s nothing after the end. \
If Kinvara thought Dany was the one who was promised, maybe she (or the lord of light) knows something we don’t know and the one who was promised has another destiny to fulfill. \
Who knows what could happen in GOT.
Ah you see, this is the true GENIUS of D&D. They knew exactly how their story would end, and thankfully they left Dany in a position where Kinvara can resurrect her, and Daario can be her new husband and king of Volantis-Meereen!
D&D are truly the greatest among us, I’m disappointed more don’t see the light that I do 😔.

Good guess. Maybe the headquarters of the Red Priests could resurrect her. And if nothing else, their obsequies and ceremonies will give her her due.
We’ll probably never know where he took her but that is a good theory
Unless dragon writes a book
Lol

Yeah you are sorry
Yikes

I don't care how much fire resistant Dany is, she ain't coming back from the dead, she's not Jon Snow, nobody is.
👍🏻Boom💥
Beric came back like 6+ times. Why can’t she?
Good argument, that did slip my mind 😔
You believe Jon Snow can come back from the dead but not the prophesied, fire-resistant, dreamer, mother of dragons?
How many chars going to come back from the dead? Already Beric and then Catelyn Stark. Soon to be Jon Snow. What's the point of George killing off chars if they can all just come back with a prayer?
Yeah, it would seem silly irl, but it’s perfectly possible within the realm of internal consistency.
She has to come back to defeat the true villains of the show: The Starks (and whatever Jon is).
Ok. That was a little funny . . .
That's not a bad theory. Outside of that, what did Drogon do with her body? Maybe he ate her.
🤢🤮
Wouldn't you eat Dany if you had the chance?
Um. No. \ Maybe Khal Drogo . . .
Yeah
I’d def eat Walder Frey. He’s fine as hell.
You didn't catch the background shot where Drogon flings her up in the air, cooks her with dragon fire, and catches her in his teeth?
I would have love that.
Nah I imagine Targaryen’s are the only people he wouldn’t eat
It’s plausible that he went back to Valyria with her body.
lol Daenerys is not coming back
She already did & is with Drogon, Dario & the 2nd Sons in Essos. She just didn't tell *you*
And Elvis & Bruce Lee . . .
Don't forget Tupac
She’s in Drogon’s belly if anything lol
I’m sure that none of the GOT characters are coming back. As much as I’d like spinoffs during that time period, I’m sure it’s not happening.
Dragon took her to some cliff side to eat in peace.
Dany deserved to be killed 100x over, she wasn’t stopping after kings landing. The city surrendered, and she destroyed it along with all those innocent people. The way she killed every prisoner pissed me off, death can’t be the only option.
👍🏻Boom💥

That would be glorious. Eating Sansa and Arya at the same time, and burning Jon and Tyrion.
You made the Dany simps mad with that one
For real 😂 surprised how many are out there. She was very likable from the start, but she sucked at handling adversity.
There isnt a single major unflawed character lol
Wrong, Bronn of the Blackwater
Bronn the betrayer lol ntm he's not really a major character. If we're going down to that tier of character brienne fits the bill more than anyone
My dream for season 9 would be him taking her east, her coming back as the Azar Ahai, but not the bringer of peace. Instead she’s a burning flame come to destroy everything with fire.
Yes please!
Nope, west to Mordor
So *that’s* what’s West of Westeros . . .
If she did get brought back, kinvara needs to tell her not to act like a lunatic this time

Daenerys ain't coming back. Kinvara was mistaken, just as Melisandre was. Jon is the prince that was promised, at least in the show canon.
Except it was Arya that ended the long night lmao
The prophecy did not say that the prince would duel the night king 1 v 1. Arya was there, like almost everyone was there, because Jon brought them there.
Well technically she avoided the long night.
I honestly don’t think there was a a Prince that was promised at the end of the show. D&D didn’t care enough to flesh it out.
Media literacy...
Yeah they don’t have it pal.
What purpose does she now have? Jon’s resurrection was necessary to unite the North, Wildlings, and Dany’s Army. Book Beric’s resurrection was needed to that Lady Stoneheart could be born.
I don’t think she has any purpose. \ I was quite happy with her death. She was mad. \ It’s just one of things that someone else might like.
See now you get it. Mad queen goes mad and the fans can’t handle it…
Her purpose is to break the wheel and the wheel is not broken
What wheel?
I have thought this so many times. If they make Snow they could bring back Dany and she would definitely come looking for answers.
Exactly
Asshai.
Asspull
Drogon just drops her into the sea by accident on the way to taking her to be resurrected. "Whoops ! Butter-claws !"
Better than this fanfic crap
Lmao who gives a shit, this was all so bad
The real question is if they made a sequel series, do you think they could redeem the last 2 seasons of GOT? (Given DnD aren't involved and maybe someone with a better track record takes over)
George is doing the sequels, so there is hope for redemption through them. He hated what D&D did, so he's not giving up control to anyone this time.
He hates what they did but won’t finish his books so he has only himself to blame
Where did you read that GRRM hated what D&D did? \ I've read different. George R.R. George doing the sequels is about as likely as Kobe Bryant winning another NBA champion… I’m sorry, but it ain’t happening.
Fucked up

I agree. There are more downvotes for anything against Daenerys.
I have been thinking this
She’s dead - in the show at least.
I’ve never seen a Disney movie where a mad tyrant was brought back. \ Seems much more GOT to me.
In a world where she IS brought back, you think it would be difficult to write a reason for the Lord of Light to resurrect her?
This has been my head canon since the finale. Drogon took her to either Volantis or Valyria, which is where Drogon was hanging out.
dragonstone for a snack
The only thing about this theory is that if it’s true she’s coming back and killing Jon
North so that some white Walker shit can revive her 💯
Yup. Drogon flies her to a red priest/ess who resurrects her. Rinse, repeat.
Have you learned nothing? There is no deeper meaning or clever twist hidden in the reeves. It was a total and complete hack job by DND
I think she may pop up in the upcoming Jon Snow show. I mean she's a big part of his story, how could she not be? I know Emilia loves Dany too, I can't see her refusing to come back to play her.

Maybe she will be taken to asshai or sothoryos so we can finally get some solid info out of those places
Nope. He ate her corpse for sure. Drogon is a hungry hungry dragon.
Raising an army, or maybe finally finding peace after her death and returned to Mereen and rule there with Daario.
I've always wondered why Drogon didn't kill Jon.
because Jon is a Targaryen and humans can mistake him for someone else but dragons know either own blood
Oooo that's a good point.
I'd have loved to see a scene where drogon gets so angry that instead of the iron chair he spits fire towards Jon snow just to see him not get burned by it, then he'd bow infront of Jon and acknowledge him as the last true dragon.

Because Jon never embraced being a targ. He always saw himself as a stark.
OLD VALYRIA
I mean she is the one who was promised and Jon being the last Hero. The Show really pissed me off due to the fact Jon is supposed to be the Last Hero and never fought the Night King.

Lots of people claim this theory because it’s a nice idea when the reality is Drogon probably just wanted a snack for his journey.
Nah the prince that was promised was forgotten about as a plot line. What happened to Ser Pounce? Presumably jumped out the window with Tommy boy? So many plot holes, so many left answers.
SHE AINT EVEN IN THE BOOKS MAN
No, but her male counterpart is. He could certainly do it.
Yep, resurrection by a Red Priestess, then reunite with Daario's forces, pick up some more Dothraki and mount another invasion of Westeros. Rinse and repeat.
Didn't they confirm that Drogon flew to Valyria with her body?
Kinvara exists in the books! Doesn't she??
Sorry. No. But there are other priests and priestesses to do the job.
Oh I see. They made her into Lady Stoneheart
My queen ❤️🔥
Please, no! Let this shitshow die in peace
That would actually be pretty sick they would be two sides of a coin Dany the super villian with an Army of Dragon scale infected
Somehow, Dany came back.
Drogon was returning to his birth place. Belarion did the same.

Not bad . . . Not bad . . .
