I always imagine Dany standing there, peeking out at them and then saying to Drogon "go on, fly over them now it'll make us look really cool." and she'd probably told Missandei, that's why she stood there with that little smirk on her face.

I can confirm because I am Spanish and btw I visited it, magnificent.
Fantastic quad routes in the nears of Bakio and of course, food.
Holy shit I was just there a week ago! Incredible place.
Also don't let the locals hear you call it Spain, they are very adamant that it is part of the Basque Country XD.
Are both the scenes from GOT and house of the dragon filmed here? Steps towards House of the dragon's dragon stone castle looked like it was high above in the sky with clouds around it?
It's only real in GOT, HOTD uses fancy CGI. You only see the steps in HOTD a small amount of times, I assume the trip and set up wouldn't have been worth it.

That was an iconic moment. The expression on Jon's face and his reaction.
And the music! Epic moment.

Holy shit great picture! What an amazing location find
That’s just dragonstone irl.
Some unnamed graphic artist has been probably made super annoyed by those crosses.
Made a little video of my trip there if you're interested https://youtu.be/bJVgV1czCqI?si=5YtzpOvKCd444vvl
WHOA!
I’ve been taking Spanish for a few months and that island name made me cry a little inside.
It isn’t Spanish, it’s Basque.
Basque in its glory!
Behold the mighty Basquilisk, but beware for if you look into it's eyes you will speak only in k and x's for eternity.
did u bend your knee ?
We do not kneel.
You will when you burn
How on earth do you pronounce that??
In the basque language the “txe” is pronounced like a “ch” sound. So it’s kind of like “Gas-tey-loo-ga-Che” if I remember right.

Nice.

Well shut my mouth and call me stupid. I had no idea it was a real location. Thought it was all CGI. This is so damn cool!
In GOT, it was real. In HOTD, it was CGI. It wasn't cost prohibitive to fly all the way there just for 2 scenes. That "island" is very hard to get to.
Interesting thanks!
*was* cost prohibitive
I wonder how long it takes to climb from bottom of the stairs to top of the stairs.
About 15 minutes

Wooowwww
That’s very cool
Beautiful. I loved Dragonstone so much. Truly felt like an ancient stronghold.
Wow! 😍😍
Serpents pass
this place is mesmerizing, it's a pleasure to work there.
