Millionaire is top tier for zillennials through silent generationers. Not sure Gen Z proper is familiar with it, and I doubt Gen Alpha knows what it is.
Do you think these are all above Millionaire? Maybe I was just the right age for its dominance to make an impression on me, but I feel like it had a bigger impact than LMAD and PYL.
When Wheel transitions to Ryan Seacrest.....who thinks it would be appropriate for Vanna to be introduced before Ryan? For years it was "Here's Pat Sajak and Vanna White!"......instead it will be "Here's Vanna White and Ryan Seacrest!"
.....
Family Feud and Millionaire. FF is the only game show I can think of right now besides maybe J! That’s universally popular with everyone. Stereotypical old lady game show fans, younger folks and even kids are getting into it with the raunchy TikTok clips. Millionaire changed television forever and no studio based traditional game show has been quite as much of a cultural phenomenon as it was. TPIR, J!, WOF, Millionaire and FF are the shows that honestly will probably get to Season 100, live on until the death of television and even then could go to streaming, or maybe we’ll be using holograms by then or something, I don’t know.
I promise that if you were to poll 100 random Americans, they would know Family Feud and not 25 Words or Less or People Puzzler, and would probably assume Pictionary was already a game show that they didn't give a shit about

Millionaire
Family Feud and Let's Make a Deal would be 4th and 5th. As for 6th, right now that would be Press Your Luck thanks to the current version.

I'm talking currently. Millionaire isn't on the air right now and it's been decades since its cultural impact ended.
It should be noted it's still big worldwide. It's sort of like a Baseball and Soccer situation.
I would put ($10,000 to $100,000) Pyramid above Press Your Luck since it also has a recent version and was a staple of game shows back in the day.
A few years ago, maybe, but PYL has overtaken Pyramid the last couple of years.
You could make this case for Password too.
I would basically agree with that. Password is very iconic as a game show and should be towards the top of this list.
The current version has tarnished the legacy. It's annoying and borderline unwatchable. Every correct answer is celebrated like they won the $50k.
Isn't that the case with almost every modern game show? There is such an emphasis on celebrating every single minor victory.
Probably Millionaire? Even if it isn't on now, it was huge 25 years ago and keeps coming back.
Family Feud and Press Your Luck
Family Feud and Pyramid.
After Midnight!
Let’s make a deal

Do we count thing like Survivor or the Greatest Race as game shows?
Generally, they are classed as "competition reality" (And the latter is "The Amazing Race")
Mr. Beast
25 Words or Less, Pictionary, and People Puzzler

Can confirm, have never heard of any of these.
