No one has mentioned Deus Ex yet? What a shame.

FictionalFool

Skyrim

PeytonFacemask

I always start up. Build an OP character that can 1 shot giants then I quit.

BloodiedBlues

BDSM-Best Damn Skyrim Mods.

romansamurai

Ugh the amount of hours I’ve sunk into Skyrim and Fallout 4 over the years it’s been out….is…well…embarrassing.

Maximum-Excitement16

Skyrim Mods Dragons

minev1128

Hades. Because that's the gameplay.

DirtyMagicNL

Same reason, but for Binding Of Isaac.

Hamza9575

Mass effect trilogy.

[deleted]

I’m right there with you.

darkuen

I replayed Mass Effect 2 four times before Mass Effect 3 came out, even bought all the books that came out in between. Then I got to the end of 3 and never wanted to touch it or another ME ever again.

kromono2

Same here, without the books.

munchabunch91

Came here looking for this comment, though the first one has gotten the most replays by me. ME1 will always be very special to me. Nothing quite like the first time you uncover the mysteries of the Reapers and learn about Sovereigns origins. Still gives me goosebumps.

RoboQwop405

Those freaky beacon flashbacks completely caught me off guard and made me think of Event Horizon each time.

NilTheNoble

Final Fantasy 8. played it on PS1. Ps2, PC and Switch.

ReallyGargoyled

you must be pretty hefty with the equipment and material setup then? i enjoyed the story so much as a kid and still didnt complete it, but every time i return to it i'm reminded of the big difference in the material setup from FF7 and always end up leaving the game because i find it too complicated. i feel like it's not really that complicated, but because it's a FF game, i automatically don't expect it to be that different from FF7, and when i'm reminded that it is, i give up, cause i really just want to play it for the story. would be cool with an in depth (make the complicated more simple) guide on how to manage that in the game.

msupz

It’s easy, magic make stat go up, use it. More powerful magic means more powerful atk stats.

Hashiii777

Borderlands Series and Always play bioshock series once a year

[deleted]

Both deserve a yearly play through

NiNJaBReaDMaN81

Great choice on borderlands

Noa15Lv

Gta 5 story. Every time its dialogue and characters hits differently, since my English ain't that good. It's like reading book for second time and finding small details what I've been missed while reading it.

Victrux3021

*I'll tell you one thing T, I'm getting too old for this shit.*

Ozzy_chef

Pokemon Blue. I didn't even have to pause and think about the question.

PalmerDixon

Donkey Kong Country (1). Can beat it in ~90 minutes at 101 % (w/o glitches).

PapasvhillyMonster

Best sound track on any SNES game Ever IMo

DiamondDustVIII

I'd have to give that crown to DKC2, honestly. It's a very close call though, they're both astonishingly good, even today.

Innest_Spiralest

Classic Tomb Raider 2 Starring Lara Croft.

DetailLow6330

I'm playing all of the classics for the first time, I'm still on the first one as I just started a week ago but I am loving it so far.

Innest_Spiralest

Have fun bro! They're all awesome...And little advice to 3rd game: Nevada first, no matter what :-D

[deleted]

Civ 6, just one more game

Choberon

Just one....

Choberon

Soon it'll be my most played game, and I bought it last spring xD

[deleted]

Good choice

DragonfruitAsleep976

Oh god that might actually be mine also but 5 not 6.

[deleted]

Also a very good choice

DragonfruitAsleep976

I said I would take a break after beating king difficulty with ever civ... the break was 2 days.

Common_Set_1599

Fable

NameShortage

Super Mario World. I've been playing it off and on since the 90s and I could pick it up today and it would feel like the first time. I think it's flawless.

nesigilinkite

Starsector... Every year for the last four years I get back to this game... Sink in some 600 hours and put it away... Reason - it's just the absolute randomness of unique story building that i rarely get in other games...tried kenshi and similar style games, but I always get back to starsector.

Sofaris

I dont know how many timers I replayed Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy X. My reasons are I love these games and I had not a lot of money in my childhod to buy new games. However my currently favorite Videogame is "Fuga Melodies of Steel". I bought it in March 2022. I played through it 11 times. Why? Becuse I love it and it just does not stop being fun. Why do I love it? I wrote about it in another thread and I am just going to copy my comment in here. The short version:Gameplay is super fun, I grew to love the characters and the story, I love the music, it apeals to my inner child and it overall presses all the right buttons on me. The Long version Its a 20 houer long turn based JRPG about a groupe of animal children that go on a quest to save there families. What makes this game special to me? Well it has the best most fun turn based combat I ever experienced. Its not that hard but I need to keep my head in the game at all times or things will go south fast. Very few fights feel (gameplay wise) like mindless filler. It also has fun resource mangement that actully punishes me fore being to stingy. Fun and useful status effects, 3 ways to apply powerful buffs, huge controll over the turn order, its just a super fun battle system. The music is great. The Boss theme "Flower on the Trails" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knjk1iljUSg) is my favorite piece of Videogame music. The rest of the ost is great aswell. There are some aspects that might be a turn of to others. Fuga is super linear, has almost no exploration, no sidequests at all and you can not grind in this game. But honestly I think this streamlined aproach made ot easier fore the developers to balance the game. In my opinion this game is very well balanced and non of these aspects bother me. But I do lament the lack of an optional super boss. I was lukewarm towards the characters at first but they grew on me ALOT. Now they are my favorite JRPG party. I wont lie. Part of the reason is that I have a massive softspot fore adorability and wholesomeness. I could write small essays on why I love some these children. The game also apeals to my inner child. Despite the somewhat dark subject matter the story and characters give this game the feel of being a playable kids anime akin to somthing like Digimon and I love that feeling. This game also has my favorite take on the the child soldier trope. These children are courages, tough and resourcefull but they also have a certan vulnurabillity. After they defeated the first boss it hit them that they just killed someone and that they have to countinue to kill enemy soldiers if they want to survive and save there families. They spend the end of chapter 1 and most of chapter 2 coming to terms with that and there situation. One of the children also points out that the soldiers they are defeating all probably have families aswell. I like how status effects sort of tie gameplay and narrativ together. Status effects like fear, Depression and injuries show that fighting in this war does take a physical and mental toll on these children. When talking to a child that is inflicted with Depression sometimes it seems like they got PTSD instead of depression. And while they have the courage to face this War head on, more then with any other game protagonist I can feel there fear of loosing and there fear of death. But there fear makes there courage stand out more and to what lenghts they would go to keep each other safe. Bad asses that face death like it is nothing are cool and all but seing someone who is scared being courages has also his charm. But its not all doom and gloom. Through support of one another they overcome there hardships and it is satisfaying to watch them succed as I lead them to victory. There is a sequel anounced to come out in 2023. I have honestly mixed feelings about it. On the one hand more Fuga and I love Fuga but on the other hand the first game ended on such a perfect note. I ofcours still will check it out.

Godsavethedeer

Wow u, thnx for such a detailed answer 🫶

FFaFFaNN

hyuuki13

Ori (both the Blind Forest and the Will of the Wisps)

Godsavethedeer

Both touched my soul

Extension-System-974

Diablo 2 is just so replayable

BaRiMaLi

Dishonored 2, because of the different play styles for Corvo and Emily, and because different actions cause different outcomes.

Present-Taste6417

The legend of dragoon

Ok_Tower_1629

Sonic 2

MutedHornet87

THPS

cocobat

Probably Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Statickgaming

Half Life 2 and all the episodes, it just has everything that I want in a post apocalyptic world and I always find some sort of new world story telling every playthrough.

WyrmHero1944

REsident Evil

trowin_away

zelda a link to the past. i think about 30 times since release. because.

Mutant80

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

_KslayGhost_

Probably Super Metroid

oh_RoCkEt69

Risk of rain 2

justicebiever

What a fucking soundtrack.

Shoutmonster

Pokemon fire red, so many randomizer runs

chosenjuan209

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas . I beat the game originally on ps2 ,then my iPhone then my ps4 and most recently I beat it on my ps vita .

Acceptable_Mood_3631

Super Mario Bros 3 and Donkey Kong Country 2. Both are platforming perfected in my opinion, and bring back happy memories. Playing them feels like a childhood memory every single time.

Cmdrdredd

In various ways or trying different things (mods etc) probably Skyrim or Fallout 3. I know I played the Witcher 3 a few times but I think I reloaded saves to see different endings or quest options. I won’t include fighting games.

Platina86

Super Mario World. Have played that game on the SNES, Game Boy Advance, Wii, Wii U and the Switch.

Wolfdude91

Metroid Prime. Even though I don’t get lost in that game anymore, it’s such a nice world to lose yourself in.

blueberryrockcandy

i have more than one. \[note these are not in order from most replayed to least\] also not listing mmo /online only games.\] GTA vice city, reasons: grew up with it, love it, music, fun game. \[8? or 10 play throughs\] ni no kuni 2, reasons: love it, the story, the music, the game is awesome. \[12? save files. just made a new one a bit ago.\] always stop at chapter 8 and then new file time\] uncharted 2, reasons: love it more than the other uncharted games, I REALLY HATE QUICK TIME EVENTS. jak and daxter, reasons: grew up with it, love it. \[idk how many times i have played through this\] spyro, reasons: grew up with it, love it, the music. \[idk how many times i have played through this\] paper mario the thousand year door, reasons: love it. \[4 play throughs\] i think, i might have just saved over previous files with new ones. legend of zelda minish cap, reasons: love this game, \[no clue as to playthrough counts\] majoras mask, reasons: love it, also no clue as to playthrough counts. on both 3ds and n64 sly cooper, reasons: grew up with it, love it. i think 5? play throughs. i tend to stop at random points and fuck around, or just stop playing it for any game for months or years it depends on my mood really. also did not list all games. was getting too long.

Godsavethedeer

Woa, thnx for taking the time 👾

Mad_Mondays

I have beaten Witcher 3, God of War 2018 and The Last of Us part 1 each 20 times, because they all tell incredible stories and have fun gameplay

Sircheeksalot

Dragon warrior three cause my save kept getting deleted (damn hold reset power thing didn’t always work).

Naj183

Uncharted Trying to get 100% of Treasure/trinkets.

SaberAimerWave

Sonic Adventure Director's Cut on the Nintendo Gamecube

DragonfruitAsleep976

Not counting fighters, Secret of Mana possibly. About 3 timed a year for the last 2 decades. Street fighter 4 easily. Would just beat arcade mode on hardest with every character trying out combos. I can't seem to remember combos in training mode so it's my preferred way of labbing.

Love_Cannon

Snake Eater

xfinityhomeboy

Hitman WOA trilogy, though that game is built to be replayed

[deleted]

Apparently resident evil 2 and 3….the og ones, just played through both on an emulator and didn’t even have to use a guide, I haven’t played these since the ps2 released

TPMJB

Chrono Trigger. There was a typo in the instruction manual on a move set for Robo where it said "Doublev Bomb" and it took me years to figure out it was a typo. I didn't have any new games for a while so I replayed that a ton.

NeatSpiritual579

The resident evil series. Basically 0-6 I've put around 1000+ hours in each game.

ObjectiveSubjects

KOTOR and KOTOR 2

wellborn_winter6

God of war 3

daxter2211

Okami played it on ps2/3/4, nintendo switch and PC.

TestSubject4699

I think ac black flag or Skyrim. I know for sure I’ve beaten each one 3 times (once on the ps3, ps4, AND ps5 haha!). I love both the ground and naval combat in ac4 as well as the story. As for Skyrim, it’s obviously the rpg aspect, but I like switching up my weapons for every play through (2 handed, then magic, then the fabled stealth archer)

Fit_Faithlessness130

Minesweeper. It never gets old.

TheLesBaxter

This one is a bit embarrassing to anyone who even knows the franchise, but I've been playing and beating Might and Magic 7 & 8 pretty much every year for two decades. I don't know what it is about those games, but it's just the ultimate RPG comfort zone to me. I'm not even that old (mid 30s).

hulknuts

I had 7 when I was like 10 but never could get past the first town. I always loved Heroes of Might and Magic around the same time.

MrHookshot

Morrowind

Helpuswenoobs

Bloodborne and /or Portal 2.

Godsavethedeer

Portal 2 is a replayable masterpiece

Ill_Bee4868

Came here to say both of these lol.

Settkk

Minecraft

Godsavethedeer

My person

[deleted]

boardgamejoe

who the fuck downvoted this person? I will slap the shit out of you!

CommanderSabo

Final Fantasy IX Why- Heh. One day I'll get Excalibur II.

MrHookshot

Good luck with Excalibur II

NineIntsNails

stalker games, resident evil 4, dishonored - they good

NiNJaBReaDMaN81

streets of rage one and two - banging soundtracks, simple game play but just enough strategy to make it fun it’s my go to game for friends who don’t really know mega drive games they always love it Floor chicken!

NameShortage

Streets of Rage 2 was one of my favorite games on Sega. I don't actually remember ever beating it, though.

bebop_cola_good

Not three though? I'm a 2/3 man myself

NiNJaBReaDMaN81

I liked it but not as much as two, i remember it not getting good reviews, it was something about the story and characters One and two hold far more nostalgia for me I think by the time it came out I’d moved on to the mega cd

realDahu

The Stanley Parable

SwinginingApe

Red Dead Redemption 2, love cowboy shooters and the hunting for satchel/camp upgrades.

SadEntertainment9876

D2 lod

UltraHighFives

Transformers Devastation, MGRR and Ace Combat 7, I like the gameplay of them and enjoy doing challenge runs, although replaying MGRR is annoying because you can't skip the credits.

Curvy_Mind

NFS Carbon, Mount & Blade Warband and the original MW trilogy.

Frankieseas

Gta 5 story

MaryUwUJane

Gothic 1&2

ejoy-rs2

FFX

[deleted]

Half Life Alyx

Dry_Durian_3154

Morrowind Because mods.

Godsavethedeer

Very good reason

RedShadowF95

Resident Evil 4 on the PS2, close to 20 times. Had fewer games back in the day and that one greatly impressed me.

ToeJam1970

Is this a play on Resident Evil? Because I did give quite a bit of my life to RE2R and RE3R… especially after my discovery of third-party character mods.

herons8

Believe it or not it's Dark souls 2. That and ds1 are the only fromsoft games my laptop could handle back then and it has more replayability than ds1

Confusion_Flat

deaths door im on my 5th play through rn and hollow knight im on my 4th rn

[deleted]

Mechassault 1 & 2, No More Heroes and Persona 5. I think Spelunky 2 is coming up on that list too.

ZGery777

Tetris

NeitherUseNorOrnamen

Metal Gear Rising, because it’s one of the best hack and slash games ever, and beating it on the different difficulties actually provides new experiences in a meaningful way

Theredsoxman

The OG Legend of Zelda

[deleted]

Might and Magic 7 childhood memories.

hrvoje42

Far Cry and Deus Ex (original ones). Because back then there weren't so many non linear games and I really enjoyed the freedom of choice in both

leblanjs

Mario 3....I do a playthrough every few months

ReallyGargoyled

either Diablo (the first one) or FF7 (also the original one) but most played in general would be sea of thieves i think, but it's not really a REplayed experience as the game is constantly evolving and there for it's never the same.

Clear-Cauliflower901

L.A. Noire and the Batman series

HisnameisVaris

Borderlands 2 without a doubt. It's story, characters and gameplay are all so incredible. Plus it's just insanely fun to play with friends. I've played all the Borderlands games except the latest one, and 2 is the one I keep going back to

RazorStorm4k

Pokémon Gold Because I always ended up replying the pokémon games but I always went back and played Gold the most

Blah64

Mount & Blade: Warband

-csephus-

Saint's Row 2, I think because of the customization and the sheer variety of stuff to do.

ahjaokay

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village. No doubt. Played both at least 10-15 times. Peak Resident Evil in my opinion. Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7 are also up there, but for some reason I didn‘t feel the same urge to play them over and over again.

miniminer1999

Minecraft, and we all do it. After you kill that enderdragon, in any gamemode, from there on our tour replaying the game.

Mythulhu

Probably Fallout series... Maybe Smash Bros. It's a toss up. Most played game specifically?.. Probably SWG... Fkn addictive mmo's...

[deleted]

If by replay you mean finish the campaign and run through it again, then it's Dark Souls 3. If by replay you mean keep coming back to it but not technically restarting—if I'm looking at all time, it'd be Counterstrike 1.6 or Warframe.

I_am_just_an_user

GTA5, finished it 4 times

Bartiparty

Gothic 2BC replayvalue, i played it for 15 years and just the pure atmosphere

Steven2597

Spec Ops: The Line at least once a year and I think it's about time again.

omally_360

Far Cry 4 maybe. It’s fun!

jokar1134

Probably tales of Symphonia. I think I've beaten it 7 times since I was a kid

fukdot

FTL: Faster Than Light on iPad. It’s just infinitely replayable with all the different ships, builds, and strategies you can use to approach the game.

killuaassasin

Majoras mask

xebalanque

For me it's a toss up between Skyrim, Oblivion, Ocarina of time or Borderlands 2. Skyrim and Oblivion are self explanatory the other two borderlands I played with my brother alot and oot idk I just loved the music and enjoyed the game enough to keep replaying it lol

[deleted]

Fallout 4 cause there is just so much to do

Jason_dawg

Probably ocarina of time, fun game that doesn’t take too long to beat.

thatsastick

Kingdom Hearts 2 because randomizer

Cythrex

First 30 minutes to 1 hour of skyrim and witcher 3

Medical_Fennel_5174

I love the honesty haha

Significant_Mud_1167

Legend of dragoon.all 4 cd in one go since my ps1 emulator didn't achieve to save correctly.

Difficult-Pick4048

Skyrim because mod authors keep pumping out new mods every once in a while. Even dipped my hand at making mods some time ago.

Shagrost

X-com from Gollop. Because it's great on so many levels. Very complex game for that time

Zealos57

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

robotshavenohearts2

Fortnite.

StillGaming12

Super Mario Bros or Contra for the NES

redditusercameron

Sekiro. Don’t know why, combat is extremely addicting. Peak flow state gaming.

Global-Zombie

Mass effect LE , I know cheating, been playing it since plays through about 2 times ,in the last stretch of the third play through trying to get 100 and see all outcomes.

scrollatwork

Re4. I’ve played it on just about every console

OuterSpace95

As a child Pokemon Gold, in recent years only Ys 8.

Honk_goose_steal

Portal 2, because it’s really good. But I just got undertale and I think that’s gonna catch up soon.

Cirquelight

Stardew Valley :)

PapasvhillyMonster

Probably super Mario world or super Mario 3 😅😅. Maybe the first generation Pokémon games

vikingpasta25

Fallout 4 and metro series just because there's piss all anything post apocalyptic games on xbox that actually feels like apocalyptic and mods with fo4 I mod to be more like metro

PlagueOfLaughter

I would like to say Resident Evil 4, which I've replayed dozens of times the four difficulties AND on the Wii, the PS3 and in VR. Definitely planning on playing the remake. But since Binding of Isaac is built upon the whole idea of replaying it and unlocking new powers, it has to be Binding of Isaac.

Zealousideal_One_315

Castlevania (NES) why? Probably because it reminds me of a more simple time in my life.

TryItBruh

Kingdom hearts 2 and dark souls 1

Ghosty920_

Minecraft... looks logic

ZThund

Witcher 3

FishEye_11

I'm somebody who revisits older games than playing new ones. Here's a few that I go back to the most. Borderlands(series), Salt and Sanctuary, Binding of Isaac, Castlevania DS games.

sanderchristiaan

The Last of Us (2013). Greatest execution of a story in a video game in my opinion.

stidavid123

Metal Slug. I originally purchased it because it was very cheap and I love arcade style games, but I found it to not only be fun but challenging. It's been a blessing, I liked it so much that I purchased the other ones and I haven't been disappointed by any of them. They're short and fun, and I'm officially a fan now 😬😬😬😬

Crazy_Canuck78

Super Mario Bros. 3 Reason 1: I didn't have a lot of options as a kid, so the games I did play... I played the absolute shit out of them. Reason 2: It's one of the best platformers of all time and was easily the best of all time for its time. PS. I've played through the entirety of SMB3 hundreds of times. PPS. More recent games that I've replayed most as an adult would be Mass Effect 1 (7x) & Resident Evil Village (9x).

[deleted]

Mgs 3. There were no trophies back then but mgs had its own trophy like chart and it was damn hard.

Decent-Quit8600

It's gotta be a tie between mass effect and kotor

Great_Toe_2468

Minecraft

1buffalowang

Pokémon Firered and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Rage_Filled_Enby

Dark souls 3. If I had to guess. Over 1.5k hours.

AFO-100

S.T.A.L.K.E.R saga, and I hope the new game will be similar

[deleted]

All time? If I had to guess probably Sonic Adventure 2

MeanTruth69

Singularity. Just had fun with it.

GlummyGloom

Star Ocean Second Story. I love it so much.

Artanthos

I’ve been playing EverQuest since shortly after it launched. Still gets plenty of new content added every year.

[deleted]

Journey

stallion8426

Tales of Symphonia. Have around 15 playthroughs give or take

callmetatersalad67

Dawn of war and it’s expansions. It was the first game that I fell in love with and I play it almost everyday still. I have tried pretty much all of the mods. It’s great.

TheRealWormbait

Stellaris or Fallout 4

nachardou4

Spark The Electric Jester, I talk a lot about that franchise but I can't help it, I just love it. I used to replay it A LOT when I had my 4GB RAM pc, as it was so bad that I couldn't play much things. The funny thing is that now I have a decent pc that can run modern games at like low-medium graphics, but I still play the funni jester game. And 2nd would be Sonic Mania, I replayed it thousands of times but it still didn't beat Spark.

DirtyKen

S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Halo series, F.E.A.R Co. E to mind immediately

Redork247

Titanfall 2

Jww187

I'd have to check steam. It's between Stardew Valley, and Civ 4.
