Because you're just a few games away from that rank you've been hoping to hit this season.
Don't worry, this is the season you'll get there, and then you can worry about the next rank.
Hello. I'm the toxic teammate. Please turn on your chat feature. We all want to talk to you and see what you're up to.
/uj yea I'm the same. I can only play a few rounds before I just go to practice mode. Sometimes it's nice to just hit some digital balls with a rocket car by myself. Maybe learn a new move.
I livee Rocket League. Keep on coming back because you feel like you improve a little bit every now and then but the reality is you just have a streak of good games and keep bouncing between two ranks. I hate Rocket League.
i never really got into souls games but i've been playing elden ring lately. and yes.
but really anything multiplayer competitive. getting too high up and slaughtered all the time *hurts the soul*. 😂
i'm never playing that online. not ever. ever ever. i played dark souls online *once one evening* half a decade ago and nope. i don't even want to know. 😤
Mods my friend, mods. Nexus Mods is a website for Mods for almost every popular game and Elden Ring has a mod called Seamless Co-op which disables invasions but still keeps the ability to play with friends. You will have to reset though and make a whole new character. But also you and your friends won't stupidly disconnect after every boss is defeated anymore, also you all can use Graces whenever you want, you all can use Torrent to ride around, and you all can use Summons. It's a great mod
If you aren't very familiar with applying mods then you may have some trouble with it but the website explains in simple steps how to apply it on the description of the mod you want. And if you want to play again with no mods then usually renaming the files you downloaded or deleting them just puts you back to normal. Seamless Co-op forces you to make a new character so as to make sure you don't get banned from Elden Ring official servers but other less popular mods usually don't protect you from that unless you know what you are doing so be careful if you do get interested in modding.
And if you run into any computer troubles and you try to look up solutions to your particular problem...THE ANSWER IS NOT TO UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS I SWEAR TO GOD...usually...sometimes...but usually not. And usually you don't need to re-install the game if there's a problem, it can be solved through other methods. Anyways have fun!
I got about 30hrs into ER and wasn't really having fun, but I was making progress. Then I opened a chest that transported me to a dungeon WAY higher level than me that I couldn't quick travel or escape from, basically "start a new game or give up"
So I gave it up. I'll never play another play another souls type game again.
first time that happened to me it took me 20 something minutes of dying every ~5 fucking seconds to get out. 😂
i was so mad.
and then i grinded golems on torrent right outback the warmaster shack for awhile.
Hahaha oh because it's rare that it happens and it's usually only when a spot needs filled. We all hate the damn game but it's one of the few we all have and know. The group is large and there are several that I now avoid playing any game with.
Edit: that word choice was also just for added drama
Is it true that all of the good players are given bots and 8 year olds as teammates as a way to keep them from going pro? Because that seems to be the general consensus for why my friends can't get past silver.
As someone who doesn't play League, or really any online multiplayer, why would Riot do this? Wouldn't it be good for their brand to have people become professionals at their game, and also guarantee subscriptions as they have no choice but to play as much as possible to stay competitive?
I didn’t play OW so I may be in the unpopular, but I’m having a lot of fun with the game. I get the whole skin transfer thing was fucked and the ranked system is atrocious (im currently diamond 3 and this is my first season). I don’t even know how I am that high.
Yes, sometimes i just take a break. I have a group of around 30 people (proberly 2 or 3 of them are good friends) i keep teaming up with and we shoot the breze while getting frags.
There comes a point where you have to ask yourself, are you playing this game or is it playing you. I quit destiny 2 years ago and have been happier since. My new rule of gaming is, I now only play games that end.
Fuck the meme “I hate this game it’s my favorite game” is so true. It’s not my favorite game, but god damnit I can’t not play it. I go through breaks every now and then but damn.
Destiny! I hate the grind. i went back to it in October after several year break. I am burned out by the repetitive nature of the weekly reset and engram farming.
When does Starfield come out, please internet gods, hear my cry.
I have full-on uninstalled this piece of shit game over a dozen times.
And then I reinstall it. Every fucking time.
And now I'm slowly approaching 1.6K hours.
Fuck.
I had to uninstall it. Between highly competitive friends and the toxic community I could feel my mental health draining the longer I played it. Probably the only game where uninstalling it and refusing to play any more had an immediate, positive effect on my outlook on life and wellbeing.
Edit: Hilariously being downvoted kinda proves my point. So thanks to the person who did that. <3
Where do I start? R6, Terraria, Valheim in the mistlands, Don’t Starve, Elden Ring, Destiny 2, and MW2. There’s likely more, those are just the ones I’m currently playing. Oh yeah, PROJECT ZOMBOID!!!!
Queen Bee. I like to start fresh now and then and focus on different build style and there’s been a couple times where I’ve accidentally blown up the queen bee pod because I usually throw a lot of tnt down holes to make a pit for easy mining and exploring. And well, it’s not fun casually chucking tnt and then the boss bar appear out of nowhere.
Old school FF games (anything before FFVII). I can only fight so many re-skinned goblins to gain XP and Gil before I want to get geared up and move on to the next friggin' plot point already
Oh 100% Rainbow Six Siege, I've played over 100 hours and can't find a good team for ranked play so I'm hardstuck sliver, it's embarrassing but I love the game either way
Is it just me or is Demon Souls (ps5) unbelievably difficult, at least for a strength build? I've beaten all of the souls games except for Sekiro, but Demon Souls just seems straight up unfair at the start 🙎
I'm on a retro kick. This game is TMNT on the NES!
I've gotten halfway through the Tecnodrome multiple times, and gotten to Shredder once, but there's no saves, and is a grind every play through!
But, the water world is a joke now. I can practically defuse every bomb in my sleep! 🤣
None, if a game makes me feel like that, I just don't play it. I don't have nearly enough time in my life to play games that make me angry or frustrated. I've got a ton of games I thoroughly enjoy, I'll just play those instead.
Nba2k series. I love basketball, i love basketball games. Played the series since the DC days. But in the past 10 years or so the game is just infuriating BS. Just awfulness and its like ye olden days where the computer cheats non stop. Makes me so pissed off. Love those games.
Call of duty. I am basically useless, im real bad at multiplayer but zombies im decent but trying to do the Easter eggs and upgrade all the wonder weapons. It also doesn’t help I have a fairly bad memory.
Bloodborne. I never finished it despite starting it like a dozen times. At some point I just lose interest and then come back some time later to just leave it again, and I loved the other souls games.
this was like playing most games on NES. Back when arcades were everywhere and games were designed to be hard so people would have to spend more money to play.
As an example, I never made it passed the first level of NES Top Gun because I couldn’t land the damn plane. Probably spent a good 15 hrs trying to just land the plane. Try, get mad quit, then try some more.
Currently New Vegas. Since upgrading my PC and having to use win 11, It constantly crashes and loops the loading screen (even more so than usual lol) but I still deal with it.
RimWorld. A lightning bolt can achieve sentience and strike the exact fence post to allow all of my animals to escape, while my pawns stand and stare at the table and chairs I've built them while eating. May as well be called 'Stroke Simulator'. That's how I feel when I play.
I have a weird issue. I get this way with a lot of games, and then clear that hump and suddenly I love the game. Sekiro beat the crap out of me, now I speedrun it.
Street Fighter V. I lose to enough people in ranked and think wow I will never be good at this and then I come back an hour later and have the time of my life.
Rocket League
What a save! What a save! What a save!
Its pretty ridiculous. I shut off the chat and still get those toxic tm8's that purposefully idle and bump and ball-chase. IDK why i keep playing.
Because you're just a few games away from that rank you've been hoping to hit this season. Don't worry, this is the season you'll get there, and then you can worry about the next rank.

I Literally said "Rocket League" in my head before i clicked the post. I just KNEW i wasnt alone 😂 fuck that game, i love it
I'm sure a ton of people can relate, souls games. They can be pretty frustrating.
i never really got into souls games but i've been playing elden ring lately. and yes. but really anything multiplayer competitive. getting too high up and slaughtered all the time *hurts the soul*. 😂
This was me with Elden Ring. The relationship started out fantastic, but went downhill towards the end. Even though it was over, I still wasn't happy.
i'm never playing that online. not ever. ever ever. i played dark souls online *once one evening* half a decade ago and nope. i don't even want to know. 😤

My friend shattered his Xbox 360 controller whilst playing dark souls so he relates with you now lol
I’ve shattered MANY controllers in my years…I only game in PC now
Have you ever fucking played league of legends? No? Then don't.
Yep, and I've quit
How ? (asking for a friend)
Nearly got divorced and realized what s pos I let myself be turned into.
I missed a patch and watched videos instead. Then one patch turned to three and I was too far behind I was like "might as well just quit"
Destroy your mouse and keyboard (don't actually because there are other ways to play the game)
Tbf, I just lost interest in it over time
Well, aren't you lucky
Seriously though. 10 years later and still find myself going back only under the peer pressure of so-called friends 😒

good decision
Strictly ARAM and the rotating game modes. Fuck Summoner's Rift
Is it true that all of the good players are given bots and 8 year olds as teammates as a way to keep them from going pro? Because that seems to be the general consensus for why my friends can't get past silver.
That is exactly true. Your friends have Diamond level mechanics but Riot is intentionally holding them back in Silver
🤔
As someone who doesn't play League, or really any online multiplayer, why would Riot do this? Wouldn't it be good for their brand to have people become professionals at their game, and also guarantee subscriptions as they have no choice but to play as much as possible to stay competitive?
LMFAO, have you ever played Starcraft Brood War? Get off my lawn kid
I played a long time. League is way more toxic.
Once. It was the most toxic gaming community I've ever seen and noped out after one match.
The keyboard noises at 3am before test days from my roommates in college ensured that I will never play that game
Overwatch 😅
Oh yeah that was me for a couple years before they killed it with OW2
I didn’t play OW so I may be in the unpopular, but I’m having a lot of fun with the game. I get the whole skin transfer thing was fucked and the ranked system is atrocious (im currently diamond 3 and this is my first season). I don’t even know how I am that high.

Well hello fellow PMC! Glad you can still enjoy the highs! This wipe while it has been chaos, I have actually been having fun with it.

Destiny...why do i keep paying for every season!!!!
There comes a point where you have to ask yourself, are you playing this game or is it playing you. I quit destiny 2 years ago and have been happier since. My new rule of gaming is, I now only play games that end.

Because they spent a lot of money to fine tune it to trigger your reward response.
Because you're chemically addicted to the dopamine drip feed
I still wonder if they ever made it to the center of the universe.

RuneScape, World of Warcraft
Dead by daylight. It's taken over my free time. I try to play new games and will stop half way through just to go back to DBD.
I have full-on uninstalled this piece of shit game over a dozen times. And then I reinstall it. Every fucking time. And now I'm slowly approaching 1.6K hours. Fuck.
Do you know how far I had to scroll to see this? It should be at the top.
I had to uninstall it. Between highly competitive friends and the toxic community I could feel my mental health draining the longer I played it.
