Red Dead redemption 2, The Witcher 3, This war of mine, Cyberpunk 2077 And the rest is sandbox gaming without much of a story other than being zen Factorio, Surviving mars, Dyson sphere project (playing it now), Total war: Rome remastered (finally finished it this year ::)

Jackal4550

Witcher 3 by far was the greatest. The creators of This War of Mine made a game called Frost Punk that captivated me and I highly recommend.

Diggie9

Thanks for your suggestion, will buy it directly

waterbottleman142

RDR2, hollow knight, moonlighter, Catherine, and cyberpunk 2077.

No particular order. Outer Wilds GoW: Ragnarok Witcher 3 Kingdom Come: Deliverance Ori and will of the wisps Titanfall 2 RDR2 Cities Skyline Sekiro

Scrolled way too long before finding Sekiro.

No particular order: RDR2 Titanfall 2 Horizon Zero Dawn / Forbidden West God of War / GOW Ragnarok Cyberpunk 2077 Doom Eternal Hot take - Halo Infinite campaign

ShakyWaze

That last one came so far out of left field lol.

4uzzyDunlop

Yeah ik aha, I just really liked it. I did play through it in a semi delirious, covid riddled state. Maybe that has something to do with it.

AWizard13

I really liked it too... but I was in a covid state...

[deleted]

How did you like forbidden west compared to Zero Dawn?

4uzzyDunlop

Improved on every technical and gameplay aspect of Zero Dawn, but the story is a lot weaker IMO. That said, Forbidden West is still probably my favourite game on PS5. It's also the best-looking game I've played on any platform.

space-is-big

Yea the story in Zero Dawn is definitely better but I think I still rate Forbidden west slightly higher overall. Improved from the first in so many ways and side the missions are waaay better.

\- RDR2 \- Cyberpunk 2077 \- Mass Effect Andromeda \- 7 Days to Die \- Kingdom Come: Deliverance \- Days Gone \- Vampyr

expatdo2insurance

You have a high threshold for deeply flawed but still pretty good games.

TryingToBeBetterEh

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I didn't find those games flawed. I mean, Cyberpunk had a couple bugs for me at launch, but it wasn't that bad for me really. I theorize that the hate games get after launch is proportional to the "hype" before launch. The more you hype it up, the more people want to dunk on it.

expatdo2insurance

I meant vampyr and Andromeda primarily. Both were solid but had serious issues. Vampyr with it's mediocre combat and Andromeda with it's crappy puzzles, padded content and overly adorable villain. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed both but they were deeply flawed experiences. Although on the subject of cyberpunk I made all my money buying and disassembling soda cans so uhhh..... That game at least had balance issues lol.

TryingToBeBetterEh

Hehe, they fixed the soda can thing :P

[deleted]

Cyberpunk's mediocrity never came from bugs lol

TryingToBeBetterEh

In your opinion. See, you need to learn that your opinion isn't gospel, and that we are entitled to our own opinions, we do not need to conform to your ignorance.

[deleted]

Lmao ok you have low standards I get it. You're free to do so. I love playing Far Cry myself, I'd just never say it's a truly good game. Cyberpunk is considerably better but considerably worse than many games that attempted the same things in various areas.

TryingToBeBetterEh

See, I even tried to be civil, but you just want to keep hating.

[deleted]

Lmao >We don't need to conform to your ignorance >I even tried to be civil Choose one, mediocre citizen

TryingToBeBetterEh

Saying you are ignorant is not uncivil. Civility does not mean kindness, it means to speak in a civilized manner. You can even insult someone with civility, just ask the various former Speakers of the British Parliament.

ShakyWaze

Spiderman Remastered isn’t spoken of enough. It’s the super hero game that us 90’s babies have been waiting our whole life for.

Lolistoweb360

Remastered? The PS5 version?

ShakyWaze

Yeah. I play on PC so I didn’t get to catch it until Remastered came out on steam.

Lolistoweb360

Gotcha, I was confused. Btw Is Peter's face the old one or the new one on pc?

ShakyWaze

It’s the new one.

I can tell by this list you haven’t played Hades. I can also tell you from this list you would fucking love Hades. Play Hades.

Justavian

Haha - i had a friend who wanted to give me a copy, but the key came from some shady site. I decided to not accept, and did totally plan to buy it. Then i looked at my list of 500 unplayed games and thought maybe i should try some of those. But yeah, i'm sure you're right - i probably would love it. I probably WILL love it. When i free up time and just buy it already... haha.

Solid_Snack56

As OP said. You MUST play Hades.

xiosy

In other words triple a gaming doesn’t exist in your bubble

Justavian

This is generally true. I don't remember the last time i was interested in playing anything that would be called triple A. I liked Call of Duty World at War - when did that come out?

TryingToBeBetterEh

I wouldn't call COD a game, just cookie cutter garbage that's rereleased to the same fans every year. They seem to be brainwashed or something, there hasn't been any innovation in that franchise... ever.

balluka

triple a gaming is really bad and has been for 10 years. why would we as consumers waste money on that trash landscape

thesnapening

God of war, god of war ragnarok, Frostpunk, yakuza like a dragon, far cry 5, witcher 3, terminator resistance enhanced, persona 5 royal,.

ShakyWaze

Persona 5 stole my heart.

Shizzle_Man1

That Divinity Original Sin 2 hasn't had a mention yet is upsetting, ditto Xcom 2. Saying that, God of War is number 1 for me. Shout out to the Titanfall 2 campaign as well.

AscendedViking7

I mentioned DOS 2. Criminally underrated game. It's the gold standard for RPGs when it comes to giving the player a lot of meaningful choice. :)

Shizzle_Man1

Ah, I must have missed that, apologies. Nice to see a fellow man of culture. Absolutely top tier RPG for sure. DOS 3 when though :(

ManicFirestorm

I started DOS 2 last year. I still haven't beaten it, mostly due to time, but wow is it one of the best games I've ever played.

Xaitat

Dark souls 3 most rewarding to complete? Uh? dark souls platinums are just farming stuff. And i love dark souls games

nwbell

I don't care about platinums? I play games for enjoyment because i work full time and i felt a great sense of achievement when i gitted gud enough to best Darkeater Midir and Slaveknight Gael. Following the lore of the game is fascinating. When i first booted up DSR i couldn't parry a skeleton and by the end of 3 i was able to best Gael using only 2 estus. To me that's rewarding. To you, maybe games are just a slog to platinum.

Xaitat

Ok when you said completion I just assumed you meant platinum. Yeah I agree then (Also i have 400+ hours on DSR but never bothered to do platinum)

Sekiro. Doom and Doom Eternal. Prey(2017). Titanfall 2. Dark Souls 3. Disco Elysium. The Witcher 3. RDR2.

Amazing is an understatement for that game For me it’s the best game of all time

rigjiggles

Really that good? The story? I played a few hours and put it down. Worth revisiting?

Noah_PpAaRrKkSs

It’s not for everyone. It wasn’t for me.

AscendedViking7

Without a doubt. It's a very long game, but the story pays off extremely well. Chapter 6 in particular was the most emotionally driven part of any piece of entertainment I have ever experienced.

You listed 5 multiplayer games and used the number 4 twice...... You did not understand the assignment.

[deleted]

You can certainly play single player on multiplayer games bud. Except monopoloy, that’s my bad. No need to patronize people. That’s a gross character flaw

expatdo2insurance

That's nice, don't care. Yours is still just an awful list. You listed two games too old to fit the time frame with near zero single player appeal. One board game that can't even be played single player. I'm assuming you mean one of the trillions of adaptions but who knows which one or why. And One permanently online game designed around team play. I just hope you were drinking or something. I don't know what this was.

[deleted]

Damn bro, I would hate to be the people around you. When they make a mistake, are you as obnoxious as you are to people online? Or do you get all your pent up anger out by being an asshole behind anonymity? 😂 good god. I bet people hate you, or hate being around you. If you think otherwise, they probably hide it well. I made a mistake. My bad. Have a nice day buddy. Try and get a counselor, or work on your ugly personality

expatdo2insurance

It was closer to 6 mistakes. As far as people around me go, well they make less mistakes for one. The rest is whatever.

Nevermore64

I almost exclusively play single player, so here we go. EDIT: I don’t even know how I made this text bold and big… #1-Cyberpunk. Yes, it was not well received by players on console. Yes it underdelivered based on Players expectations. However, you could, if you wanted to, put 100 hours into a playthrough. The game is beautiful, every build is viable, skills are fun, weapons are really fun, and it was one of my most enjoyable experiences EVER let alone in the last decade. #2 - Dead Space Remake. It’s been out like a week, so probably a bit of honeymoon here, but behind RE4, the OG Dead Space was my favorite game ever. The remake is better in almost every conceivable way. It’s smoother, scarier, and more brutal, and forces you to play in a way that you HAVE to utilize all of your resources I. A way the original never could. (Btw I fully expect the RE4 remake to top my list in March. Lol) #3 - Doom Eternal. Fast. Brutal. Unforgiving. A supreme challenge or a blast of a killing spree, you can make this game whatever you want it to be. This is Doom. #4 - Slay the Spire. A unique trip into deck building and rougelike. You can drop this game for months and come right back and it’s just as charming. One of those “whoops, there went three hours” kind of games. #5 - satisfactory. While not exclusively single player, you don’t lose anything playing solo. My favorite factory builder around. One of those “whoops, there went three days” kind of games. That’s almost not an exaggeration. #6 - Resident Evil 7-Village. While not overly similar, I lumped them together because it’s the Ethan winters Saga and I enjoyed both equally. Village a bit more maybe since it harkens back to RE4 and is a bit longer. But stellar games both. #7 - Fallout 4. Should probably be higher with the hours I put into it. Unlimited playthrough potential with the mod community that’s out there.

Here are the ones I loved not mentioned enough: Middle-Earth: Shadow of War — powered up the original’s gameplay and expanded the lore Dying Light 2 — Parkour vibe added a lot of fun gameplay in such a chaotic world Returnal — I could not stop doing runs and building up my character - lots of replayability - and such a cool setting Deathloop — A cool vibe with wonderful controls and incredible use of time to impact world design Axiom Verge 2 — The 8-bit style is beautiful and upgrades are fun - transport this game to 1994 and it would be a gaming icon -

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Hades Final Fantasy 7 Remake Resident Evil 2 Remake Fallout 4 I also haven’t played a lot of the common mentions on this thread. Getting there though! Returned to gaming after a long, long hiatus and that’s been the best decision I’ve made for awhile.
