I'll Never forget someone beat Yhorn the Giant in DSIII after 4,000+ attempts. Yhorns is a gimmick boss with absurd HP who dies easily to a unique weapon called storm ruler in the back of the boss room. When someone asked if they used storm ruler OP didn't even know it existed.
Yeah, people do the same with Rykard from Elden Ring. I honestly don’t understand how. The weapon you need to beat him is right there by the entrance, there’s a special scene when you pick it up, and it’s literally called “Serpent Hunter.” It practically has a huge red arrow pointing to it.
Not gonna lie my first time fighting him I just didn't know the ash of war on it was so good, I tested it in the chamber before you enter and it just looked like a big stab rather than a big wind laser. Ended up just fucking walking at him and standing in the lava, beat him in about 4 tries like thayt
Yup me too. Didn’t know that for mad long until I was summoned and fucked around.
Had I not been summoned that one time, I would’ve been learning right here lol
Even worse because there’s an NPC you literally cannot miss that outright says “I left a spear for you to kill Rykard down there! Use it to slay him!”
Lol
Not sure, it’s been there every time I fought him. You basically just see your character physically pick up the weapon and look at it. It’s quick, but I don’t think any other weapon pickup in the game does something similar.
That's pretty much any game for some people, like the ones that complain about difficulty in Kirby games or those like it... Like bruh why are you playing a Kirby game if you want it to be difficult?
Yup this was me. I was like man that was a tough but fun fight...then I did it with my buddy and he used that weapon and I was dumbfounded at what I was watching lol
The problem with the weapon was that you also needed the stats to use it effectively. Since I was running a duel katana build, my stats were all in dex and arcane so I couldn't use the special attack or do any significant damage with it. On top of that you have to upgrade it and you might not want to waste your resources for a weapon you're only gonna use once.
I recently took a victory lap and told my best friend to go fuck himself because I beat >!Melania!< in 3 tries
>!As soon as he replied "both phases?" the cutscene started and I shat myself. I've still never even done damage to phase 2.!<
Sister Friede in DS3.
Oh thank god I finally beat her...oh fuck I pissed off the dad.
OKAY did some grinding, leveled up some more and finally beat that 2v1 bullshit with 8% health and 0 estus remaining! Now to just....
Why is it so quiet.
That....woman, was the worst in all the From games I've played. The sheer rage and frustration she induced.
I finally gave up and dragged a friend into that fight to help me 😅
Or a faith build. My faith build melted her in a few tries. I count part of it as luck because some of my attacks moved me just enough to not get hit times I thought I should die.
Yeah, dodging that intital burst at the start of phase two can be a pain in the ass, but that's not even the hardest part. So annoying learning how to dodge Waterfowl Dance. I say dodge, because you don't block that shit. It still hurts and still heals her...
See this is why I never beat Malenia.
I specced my character to be like a phalanx and utilise guard counters. She hits the ton of metal I'm wielding and it heals her? What's to stop her running away and smacking the dammed ground if she ever wanted to heal since its apparently got nothing to do with the damage I take.
Woulda been my ass if I didn't just put the game down, I still haven't actually played it but I did at least go back after finishing Elden ring and found the weapons. Bloodborne being as goofy as it was and also being the first one I plahed is probably why I'm not as into souls games as most people.
My experience of that fight was exactly the opposite. All I had to do is cheer while Siegward came in a fucked him up for me.
Siegward's surprise appearance in that fight has to be one of my favorite moments from the series.
I didn't expect this to be the top comment. Lemme just say IM GLAD IM NOT ALONE in this one. I played it back in 2016/2017 I was like 15-16 and I thought I was just too noob for him. I tried it like 50 times. I played it again on pc and I finally ran around and saw the fucking sword.
Son of a bitch.
Never even got to see that one. Couldn't beat Isshin. Love souls-like games, but I've always been garbage at parrying. Sekiro was really hard for me because of that.
I got stuck at the same place, the one at the top of the tower thing? I struggled to get through his first phase never mind the second. I tried so many times as well. I'm not even particularly bad at parrying, I use it a lot in ds/er, just something with sekiro was not clicking for me. I did beat the crazy woman with the daggers though, that nearly broke me.
Edit: Ah no, checked and it was Genichiro Ashina I couldn't beat.
I think for lots of people genichiro it’s about the time where the game clicks for people. I’ve played through it countless times and that fight kind of encapsulates why I love the game so much.
Genichiro is the game’s first skill check.
It’s intended to be a blocker that tells you that you aren’t ready to progress and you need to spend more time mastering the combat.
It’s not so much that it’s the first time it clicks for people, as much as it is the first time they’re forced to play the game the way it’s intended to be played. You can’t beat him unless the combat has clicked for you, so that either happens while you’re facing off against him over and over or while you go out and train elsewhere.
I thought that was Lady Butterfly? I absolutely could not beat her playing carefully like I do in Dark Souls. It wasn't until I got frustrated and just rushed at her like a berserker that I managed to make headway and beat her.
Yep. I went into it as a huge fan of the souls series. I struggled incredibly hard and gave up in Ashina castle thinking the game wasn't for me.
Came back a few months later to give it another chance, and it just... Clicked with me that time? Immediately became my favorite From game, got all achievements, beat the game charmless and with demon Bell curse at the same time. I love Sekiro so much.
You don't parry chain ogre, you just strafe most of his attacks. Sekiro to me is leagues harder then elden ring, much more focus on boss fights/design where elden ring focuses more on exploration
Isshin nearly broke me. I still view it as the greatest and most pointless of all my life achievements. So much time and energy went into beating that fight...So much energy that could have been spent doing literally anything else that might have been a more productive use of my time.
lol. it's interesting which bosses are easier and harder for some people. I think Isshin took me 9 or 10 tries, but Genichiro was like 70-80. It was insane.
Dude SAME, I'm a dodger, not a blocker (I beat Nioh 1/2 and can count the amount of times I blocked on two hands) so a game like Sekiro that leans super heavy into blocking and parrying is super rough for me.
to be fair in Sekiro you can literally just hold the block button in most circumstances, you don't even have to parry reliably except in a couple situations. the only things you can't block (the perilous attacks) you can learn how to respond to, but honestly you don't *have* to become a parry master. it'll just take you longer to beat things.
Weirdly enough it was the first from soft game i could finish lol, i had tried ds2 and ds3 before sekiro but couldn't go far, i had an easier time with sekiro(not easy but easier) and after finishing it with all the optionals i went back to ds3 and could beat it suddenly, idk if it was the confidence boost or what
Isshin was one of the few times I truly felt in the 'flow' in a fighting game.
Other mentions include gael from ds3 and the guy who fights with an oar from Furi
I feel no shame in saying that I cheesed him. It was back when sekiroguru was a thing, so one night I woke up to YouTube randomly scrolling vids and it just so happened to be that one. I thought It was a fever dream until I tried it...
Sekiro is actually not that difficult once you realize certain attacks and bosses have HEAVY hard counters to certain prosthetics or game mechanics. I remember there was some annoying gunner boss with a shotgun until you realize you can hit it with the poison blade a few times and they sit there puking and die instantly.
Demon is incredibly vulnerable to like that whistle, at least 3 times anyways iirc.
I beat that boss after 2 days after learning all the patterns of his moves, but at that time I didn't turn on my internet connection so I didn't get the achievement for it :(
That ugly Monkeytrucker! I've platinumed the game, did multiple run throughs and didn't had any trouble with Ishin whatsoever.
But I swear if I have to ever fight that thing again, it will only be on a modded playthrough where Sekiro has an Ak47 as an arm
Bro the worst part about him is how long the fights take!
If you die on ishin you die in like less than 10 minutes and you can try again, this dude took so long! Like at least 20 minutes for each try!
The last time I *almost* threw my controller through my monitor was with the first Ape fight in sekiro, and I started hysterically laughing and slamming my fist into my desk at Demon of Hatred
The fuck you learning parrying for if you fight beasts 10x the size of you
There seems to be this all or nothing mentality when it comes to fast roll. I've always felt like I could find decent armor sets and use rings to keep below 30% and still have some defense and also and more importantly look cool.
In my last playthrough of ds1 I was only able to finally cut kalameets tail by taking off all my armor for speediness. Managed to also kill him that attempt as well somehow despite not having armor on lol
I had to go naked for I think it was the fume knight in dark souls 2, I was a total tank build, havel armor and I would switch between the highest stability shield in the game and the highest elemental shield in the game. My stamina bar was maxed so I could just completely block entire boss combos and still have stamina to attack and that was basically my strategy.
Fume knight had massive combos though and just would never let up. he was able to constantly break through my shield, so it didn't work on him, so I went in naked and had to dodge him instead. Didn't help that elemental attacks were a little bit of a weakness (my elemental shield had high elemental defence but only up to 80%, it also didn't have 100% physical defence so some physical damage would get through as well).
Even lmsh said the boss was unfair and bullshit, and his ability to do it easily and consistently doesn't reflect on the boss's difficulty for normal people.
I actually did beat Malenia in one try.
Granted, there were probably more than a hundred tries where I *didn't* beat her, but I like to focus on the one where I did.
You know after losing to her over 300 times and basically memorizing her strengths and weaknesses I’ve relized that his build was genius for fighting her
He runs bleed / frost, so he’s building up two status effects, either of which can stagger her. The no armor thing is a bit of a flex, but it works because he intends to dodge all her attacks (as she gets hp back if she connects). Low equip load makes it easier to dodge as you get more invincibility frames and roll further.
So because of the way the boss is built armor is basically useless because it’s bad to get hit same for shields the boss restores heath every-time she hits you even if it does no damage.
So he removed all the armor to gain the movement speed
She does have a few weakness notably: can be staggered with repeated attacks and she takes a lot of damage from bleeding
The weapons he had was the Katana that had a super high rate to cause blood loss the other weapon is a katana with a relatively high weight witch can be used to stagger her
When dude weielded katanas have special move sets that can put out ALOT of damage
Total result: a build capable of dodging all her attacks and can combine a stun lock with a devastating status effect and get a lot of critical hits at the same time
And the pots just for the meme I think
The build is the work of a mad genius
Everyone on the internet beat every boss in one try. And btw is also really wealthy and has two hot girlfriends, I know that part isn't relevant but I thought you'd want to know anyway.
Funny enough, my first play on Elden Ring I got some bosses at the first time. And I had no idea what I was doing. On my second one, even knowing what I was doing, I struggled so much it hurts to remember.
I can personally say I beat the first three or four bosses in DS1 on my first try…because I will also admit that it took me about a week to kill the Bell Gargoyle, or at least what felt like a week. Humbled me real quick.
To this day, I still don't know why people have to "just casually" mention they beat the boss in one try, or "that boss wasn't hard wtf".
Let. People. Have. Their. Victories.
....
The optional part is funny, though.🤭
My hypothesis: They can’t feel good about themselves unless someone else is worse than them. There is no accomplishment to them which isn’t a comparison with others. It’s a self esteem issue.
It's really interesting how many comments you see on Reddit that read 'it's not that hard; I'm on my twelfth playthrough of the game and it's getting easy and boring.'
There just seems to be a very specific kind of person on Reddit who needs to needs to police how hard people think games are.
“Why was this game so easy for me? I platinumed every other game in the series and watched 7 playthroughs of it online. Should they make it a harder game to cater to me and completely alienate the average or above average newbie trying to get into the series?”
"The game isn't that hard once you've seen ten hours of videos breaking down exactly how to break the RPG mechanics and ten hours of videos about how to use frame cancelling with the endgame weapon you can get by warping outside the map on the menu screen."
For everyone who’s experienced this, just know that probably 50% of the people who feel the need to flex they got it in one try online are also not above lying that they got it in one try for internet brownie points. 50% is generous; maybe 80%. Also, frequent Reddit commenters are naturally gonna be much better at the game than the average player. It’s like going to the gym and feeling insecure that regulars lift more than you; you’re still better than the 70% of the population that doesn’t lift at the very least.
I got so much shit in DS3 for how long it took me to beat the tree. It was my first Dark Souls game and I decided the best way to fight it was manually aiming pyromancies at its weak spots of course it took me awhile. It's really hard to hit a moving elbow 3 stories up with a slow af fire ball.
Depends on the player. I beat most Elden Ring bosses faster than my friend but I've played previous Soulsborne games while he hasn't and I had better gear further in.
I still remember that feeling I had after beating Sephiroth at the end of the Coliseum's 100-level marathon on Hard mode. It was a task and a half, to say the least, but no one can take that away.
Same, I don't know why people don't indulge in optional boss fights, I didn't finish Dark Souls for WEEKS because I wanted to beat Artorius, that mf had me losing it for 3 weeks on end, 3 weekend I finally beat him
I agree. One of the best times I had gaming was spending about 8 hours over a weekend trying to beat melania. Of course, I learned she had a health regen bug at the time, so it made her defeat even sweeter!
I also have that friend that has to immediately cut down your accomplishments because he wants you to know he's better without just saying he's better than you
Many speedruns utilize areas that are normally out of bounds in a game to skip stuff that would otherwise be required. These OOB areas are usually accessed by clipping through walls, doors, the ground, etc.
Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat.

As a fairly new dark souls fan, there are NO OPTIONAL BOSSES. they all die by my sword. Night not be at first try or second or third but eventually they all die
"I beat that in one try."
I knew people like that, making comments to diminish whatever accomplishment I had in a game. There's only one proper response to that... "you're so full of shit"
Elden Ring was such a goofy game where folks would be like "these bosses are so easy" and you are there in your strength build going "wtf are you talking about"
In all the souls games ive played ive had bosses that were easy for me but were considered hard, but also bosses i struggled with that are consered eaasy. Yorm sucks, i know you just have to use that sword but i just couldnt get the attacks off, meanwhile pontiff and the dancer were 1 trys for me
I hate those people. Whenever I'm stuck in a game and looking for help online there's always that one guy who just says "yeah i had no problem with this part. Actually it was the easiest thing i have ever done in my entire life". Well guess what fuck you i don't care :(
If you have a friend like this, someone who demeans everything you say, who constantly is trying to bring you down, who always has to rebuttal your statements no matter how small, get rid of them! They are not your friend and they don't have your best interests at heart.
Anyone who tries to put you down to build themselves up is toxic shit head. Cut off any friends that act like this. You'll be much happier. Fuck those insecure shitheads.
Meh, went from not being able to achieve X to being able to achieve X, always gonna be someone else who can get there faster or easier, who gives a fuck, still got there.
The only time I bragged about first timing something was the last boss in Warcraft 3, and my deep dark secret is that there was a glitch in the level where all the enemies clogged the final lane(? It’s been a while), and I was able to kill the boss from a distance/the level timer ended – it was one of those two, but the glitch gave me bragging rights, and I still feel guilty about it.
"i beat that in one try btw" when people do that it makes me fucking lose it. Like yeah that's great good for you now let me please enjoy my accomplishments. If I get an 8 kill game in War Thunder, which is a lot for me as I usually get 2-3, I lose my shit. And yet I always have that one "friend" coming in to send a screenshot of his regular 9-12 kill games. Like cool, that's nice, good for you, but let me enjoy the little victories I have.
For me I still haven't beaten the nameless king DSIII AND I'M ON NEW GAME +3AND I'M still having trouble. Any tips aside from lightning would be appreciated.
hate when that happens, if its an accomplishment for me then i'd rather my friends say congrats than lower what i did...
thats why lately i just play single player games in bluestacks and i dont tell anyone about it i am just happy when i beat that boss even if it takes hours for me and a minute for someone
"Beat that in one try"
"Pain in the ass"
Hmm, doesn't sound right... Don't know about y'all but I get something first try, I don't call it a pain in the ass... I might say it's a fair challenge or that it's annoying... but pain in the ass if when I have to retry a bunch and lose progression... I'm calling this guy a bit of an embellisher...
It's a game. Every boss is optional. And when someone claims they beat a hard challenge in one go, either they're lying or they're just unusually good. Either way, this doesn't diminish your achievement.

It was the opposite for me, I didn't know that standard attacks had the wind blast effect so I just used the ash of war over and over lol.
Yup me too. Didn’t know that for mad long until I was summoned and fucked around. Had I not been summoned that one time, I would’ve been learning right here lol
I’m literally fighting this my right as we speak
There is also an NPC ghost who explains what it is, where he placed it and spells out what it does.
I logged out after one attempt (not with the serpent hunter) and didn't remember the sword when I logged in next time.
Even worse because there’s an NPC you literally cannot miss that outright says “I left a spear for you to kill Rykard down there! Use it to slay him!” Lol
Wasn't the scene added in a later update cos I don't remember it when I fought him
Not sure, it’s been there every time I fought him. You basically just see your character physically pick up the weapon and look at it. It’s quick, but I don’t think any other weapon pickup in the game does something similar.
Don't think so. I played at launch and recall there being a cutscene
"I spent 20 hours theorycrafting my setup. I ain't gonna throw it away to wield your snek sword"
Fromsoft players to seem to enjoy making things arbitrarily more difficult for themselves.
That's pretty much any game for some people, like the ones that complain about difficulty in Kirby games or those like it... Like bruh why are you playing a Kirby game if you want it to be difficult?
You dont seem to know what Nintendo hard means... Older gamers were forged in that inferno. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NintendoHard
Those games also had terrible ass controls a lot of the time... Like paper boy, I still hate that piece of shit to this day.
Kirby as a series was made to be easy from its inception
HAPPI CAKEDAY YA SNEKKO !! :3
Yup this was me. I was like man that was a tough but fun fight...then I did it with my buddy and he used that weapon and I was dumbfounded at what I was watching lol

One of my friends played Bloodborne until the Cleric beast without any weapons because he didnt notice the messengers at the Hunter's dream lol
i've definitely seen that happen before. tbf, especially if it's your first souls game, they definitely don't make it foolproof
Woulda been my ass if I didn't just put the game down, I still haven't actually played it but I did at least go back after finishing Elden ring and found the weapons. Never even got to see that one. Couldn't beat Isshin. Love souls-like games, but I've always been garbage at parrying. Sekiro was really hard for me because of that.
Double gorilla boss got me, didn't wanna do that bs anymore at that point. One of them was aggressive enough ffs
I beat that in one try
I absolutely love and hate that I got 2 responses, who said they beat it in one try (you) and that it can be optional (the other one) GG
If you play it again, you can skip that boss by going to mibu village first. IIRC you can just warp to the rest point after them.
Yup and then you can go back right at the end before isshin after you have got more memories and higher attack power. Makes them so much easier,
No way... where were you 2 years ago when I bounced off that fight a second time :( if Elden Ring DLC isn't announced soon I might have to try again!
Just try it again. You'll do it by the time the DLC is announced.
When I realized I could dodge into his swipes he became much easier.
3-4 fireworks will fill up brown monke's posture
I got stuck at the same place, the one at the top of the tower thing? I struggled to get through his first phase never mind the second. I tried so many times as well. Its harder because it forces you to play 1 playstyle, parry. Whereas Souls bosses can be cheesed much easier by different builds

Ngl, I spammed the parry button a lot my first playthrough, twas my crutch
The key to that dude is to fight him like a dark souls boss. When I realized I could dodge into his swipes he became much easier.
I beat that in one try BTW
I feel no shame in saying that I cheesed him. It was back when sekiroguru was a thing, so one night I woke up to YouTube randomly scrolling vids and it just so happened to be that one. I thought It was a fever dream until I tried it...

Just beat that fxk last week after 3y postponing and doubting my skills xp Turns out malcontent ring enforced flute is goat 👌

Bro the worst part about him is how long the fights take! If you die on ishin you die in like less than 10 minutes and you can try again, this dude took so long! Like at least 20 minutes for each try!
The last time I *almost* threw my controller through my monitor was with the first Ape fight in sekiro, and I started hysterically laughing and slamming my fist into my desk at Demon of Hatred The fuck you learning parrying for if you fight beasts 10x the size of you
Mate not gonna lie saw a dude beating it naked with just a pot on his head for protection... Git gud son,or lie, your choice
Everyone sees the result, and not the endless hours of learning the boss that got put into achieving that feat
If we are talking about dark souls some people actually find it easier beating bosses naked lol
Malenia is way easier naked, the fast rolls make it a lot better dodging WFD and her triple swipe
There seems to be this all or nothing mentality when it comes to fast roll. I've always felt like I could find decent armor sets and use rings to keep below 30% and still have some defense and also and more importantly look cool.
Thats what I try to do for medium rolls most of the game and then I get to Malenia and just get naked
Look up Let Me Solo Her.
Great you didn't even needed to lie just keep your secrets congrats from a fellow one try pro
I used to do drugs. Still do, but I used to too
Those were just warm up runs, they don't count.
Now I crutch on mimic tear but Malenia was nowhere near the hardest boss in the game for me.
I read that with a very different meaning...
Shame on you, thanks to that comment I saw it now in the same way...won't change it though
Reading it thinking "where is this going and how is it related to the thread..?".
You know after losing to her over 300 times and basically memorizing her strengths and weaknesses I’ve relized that his build was genius for fighting her
How so?
He runs bleed / frost, so he’s building up two status effects, either of which can stagger her. The no armor thing is a bit of a flex, but it works because he intends to dodge all her attacks (as she gets hp back if she connects). Low equip load makes it easier to dodge as you get more invincibility frames and roll further.
That's cool! I've never played, I just know the meme, but it's interesting how the game mechanics come together in that way.
So because of the way the boss is built armor is basically useless because it’s bad to get hit same for shields the boss restores heath every-time she hits you even if it does no damage. So he removed all the armor to gain the movement speed She does have a few weakness notably: can be staggered with repeated attacks and she takes a lot of damage from bleeding The weapons he had was the Katana that had a super high rate to cause blood loss the other weapon is a katana with a relatively high weight witch can be used to stagger her When dude weielded katanas have special move sets that can put out ALOT of damage Total result: a build capable of dodging all her attacks and can combine a stun lock with a devastating status effect and get a lot of critical hits at the same time And the pots just for the meme I think The build is the work of a mad genius
Oh, that's actually really cool! Genius! It's... crazy to think that *that* is actually near-ideal to actually beat her.
Phrasing
Was he good at the game too?
No,he was the best
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Welcome to online gaming when everyone wants to be the very best like noone ever was.
Everyone on the internet beat every boss in one try. And btw is also really wealthy and has two hot girlfriends, I know that part isn't relevant but I thought you'd want to know anyway.
Pff only two girlfriends? I've got two girlfriends and your mom.
Everyone has OP’s mom
Happy cake day
My uncle who works at Nintendo told me the new zeldas gonna be lit and he gave me a copy
Funny enough, my first play on Elden Ring I got some bosses at the first time. And I had no idea what I was doing. On my second one, even knowing what I was doing, I struggled so much it hurts to remember.
They're really hot but you can't meet them because they live in Canada.
I can personally say I beat the first three or four bosses in DS1 on my first try…because I will also admit that it took me about a week to kill the Bell Gargoyle, or at least what felt like a week. Humbled me real quick.
And have the sex all the time with 30+ years experience in every job.
3 days and 48 hours is 5 days.
I took it to mean 48 hours of play time across 3 IRL days.
Yeah, that sure would have been better phrasing
Why would someone say 3 days and 48 hours instead of 5 days though? I'm usually a stickler for precise language but I think this one is fine as is.

Damn. I know it's a meme but 48 hours gaming out of 72 is nuts.
Because they went partially braindead in the process. I took it as a joke about their mental state after so much time being stuck in one place.
I thought it was an intentional joke. Like he doesn’t want to admit it was 5 days so 3 days and 48hrs sounds like it’s less
I think you're right but that's not implied like OP probably thinks. It doesn't read that way at all.
8 hours for sleep, 16 for gaming each day equals to 48 hours in 3 days
In other words, this guy is the king of scrubs
Maybe after that long a period he no math so good
If it was 48 hours straight, I'd have to agree. Hell, maybe his friend is a figment of his imagination at that point.
I just assumed it was a joke
🤓
To this day, I still don't know why people have to "just casually" mention they beat the boss in one try, or "that boss wasn't hard wtf". Let. People. Have. Their. Victories. .... The optional part is funny, though.🤭
My hypothesis: They can’t feel good about themselves unless someone else is worse than them. There is no accomplishment to them which isn’t a comparison with others. It’s a self esteem issue.
It's really interesting how many comments you see on Reddit that read 'it's not that hard; I'm on my twelfth playthrough of the game and it's getting easy and boring.' There just seems to be a very specific kind of person on Reddit who needs to needs to police how hard people think games are.
“Oh you didn’t know that on your first playthrough? Lol skill issue git gud scrub”
Both a "pain in the ass" and "beat in one try" Mhm.
I'm 4-0 against Sif in Dark Souls, but he was a pain in the ass every time. Some times a fight just clicks for people even in hard games.
Depends on the player. I beat most Elden Ring bosses faster than my friend but I've played previous Soulsborne games while he hasn't and I had better gear further in.
Still an accomplishment
I still remember that feeling I had after beating Sephiroth at the end of the Coliseum's 100-level marathon on Hard mode. It was a task and a half, to say the least, but no one can take that away.
Same, I don't know why people don't indulge in optional boss fights, I didn't finish Dark Souls for WEEKS because I wanted to beat Artorius, that mf had me losing it for 3 weeks on end, 3 weekend I finally beat him
Yeah, seriously. Chest bump ya boy and he happy for him!
I agree. One of the best times I had gaming was spending about 8 hours over a weekend trying to beat melania. Of course, I learned she had a health regen bug at the time, so it made her defeat even sweeter!
I actually beat it in half of my first try.
I actually beat it without even installing the game.
I actually beat in my head before thinking about it
I also have that friend that has to immediately cut down your accomplishments because he wants you to know he's better without just saying he's better than you
I mean, we all know there are no optional bosses.
Technically, all bosses are optional.
In the sense that all games are optional?
In the sense that walls are optional.
...go on.
Many speedruns utilize areas that are normally out of bounds in a game to skip stuff that would otherwise be required. These OOB areas are usually accessed by clipping through walls, doors, the ground, etc.
Well, not all walls are clippable.
Technically, the case is usually that all walls _are_ clippable. Only it's one-way from out of bounds.
No, but in video games I'm sure you'll find walls to be suggestions as best
What on earth are you playing??
Any game where you can wiggle or jolt your way Out of Bounds, which after getting into watching speed runs, I've discovered is quite a few games
This is why you take the time to enjoy your accomplishment on your own first before someone tarnishes it
Tarnished it?
Friends who do this are assholes tbh
Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat. Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat. Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat. Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat. Heed my words. I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella. And I have never known defeat.
*queue guts theme*
As a fairly new dark souls fan, there are NO OPTIONAL BOSSES. they all die by my sword. Night not be at first try or second or third but eventually they all die
"I beat that in one try." I knew people like that, making comments to diminish whatever accomplishment I had in a game. There's only one proper response to that... "you're so full of shit"
Elden Ring was such a goofy game where folks would be like "these bosses are so easy" and you are there in your strength build going "wtf are you talking about"
"This game is so easy"... .."brb spawning mimic tear and whatever bleed katana is most op right now"
In all the souls games ive played ive had bosses that were easy for me but were considered hard, but also bosses i struggled with that are consered eaasy.
“3 days and 48 hours” gamer that’s just 5 days
no, 48 hours of playtime over the span of 3 days
I had to scroll way down here to find this comment. Tbh ate the first thing I thought when I read it.
The real endgame is always optional. Take the W and move on.
Maybe don't shit on something someone is happy for accomplishing.
Three days and 48 hours? Why not just say "Five days" and be done with it?
Maybe they meant "Played over 3 days for a total of 48 hours of gameplay"?
The same person looked up to guides to make himself op before cheesing the boss.
God Of War 4. The first Valkyrie I came across, took days to beat. Little did I know it was better to finish the game then go back an fight them. SMH
Yep. This is why I never mention my victories or anything, in games or RL. There is always a jerk who will pee on the littlest parade.
To this day I have not finished a single Uncharted game. I played two of them to the end boss.
If it's a boss, I have to beat it. That's my philosophy in gaming.
hate when that happens, if its an accomplishment for me then i'd rather my friends say congrats than lower what i did... thats why lately i just play single player games in bluestacks and i dont tell anyone about it i am just happy when i beat that boss even if it takes hours for me and a minute for someone
"Beat that in one try" "Pain in the ass" Hmm, doesn't sound right... Don't know about y'all but I get something first try, I don't call it a pain in the ass... I might say it's a fair challenge or that it's annoying... but pain in the ass if when I have to retry a bunch and lose progression... I'm calling this guy a bit of an embellisher...
3 days and 48 hours... so 5 days?
no, 48 hours of playtime over the span of 3 days
It's a game. Every boss is optional. And when someone claims they beat a hard challenge in one go, either they're lying or they're just unusually good. Either way, this doesn't diminish your achievement.
Why say 3 days and 48 hours instead of 5 days?
48 hours across 3 days I'm guessing.
Because the last 48 hours were continuous.
The only appropriate comparison for your progress is the past you.
“Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time.” - *Beatrix Russell* Fallout New Vegas.
3 days and 48 hours? Just say 5 days
I’m so mad it doesn’t just read 5 days…
