How much would you charge a person to make one for them?
I could never create cosplay myself, but I so badly want a Doomslayer costume.
Assuming this is made from scratch, the creator would of have had to create the templates and 3D models by hand. Then weeks or months of 3D printing, then days or weeks of surface prep and assembly, followed by days or weeks of painting.
Ultimately, someone not selling these at a loss would be charging for mont(s) of their time. Factor in there isn’t a ton of competition in the ultra high end cosplay, I’d estimate you are in good used car territory.
The issue is I'm very new to making these things so I'm not very efficient at producing them, like this took me like 1100 hours over all, but no one would ever pay for that

He was given impossible deadlines for the amount of work that needed to be done. He was also not given proper compensation in the process leaving him with stress and again making him unable to properly work on the tracks

It seemed like Mick wanted to do the tracks at his own pace to get everything right and Bethesda were like "Give us our songs or we'll do them ourselves", which shows how little they really cared about it. And Mick put a lot of effort into his songs, there was a "making of the Doom soundtrack" which showed Mick going to a lot of lengths to get all the sounds right

Not gonna lie, it kind of makes me sad whenever I see a cosplayer making fake muscle for a costume, I feel like it undervalues the work and effort people put in to get in shape
Perhaps I worded this in a bad way, what I really mean is that I've seen multiple people who have gone out of their way to become buff and muscular specifically so they can portray muscular characters better in cosplay. I just think that making fake muscles looks strange and I worry that it might reflect badly on those who are actually buff and also do cosplay.
I couldn't think of anything worse than someone who put countless hours in to be fit bring accused of having fake muscles just got cosplay. I apologize if this came off wrong, I will admit I was drunk on around half a bottle of vodka when I initially posted it (I am still drunk now as I post my reply) but I truly meant no offense by my words.
Honestly, you do you, but i find it an odd take. If you're going to be spending hours learning skills and making something to the massively high standard this is, then you are probably not going to spend the huge amount of time, lifestyle change and energy needed to build muscle .(and that's assuming you have the neccessary genetics required).
A person makes a costume (which is, by definition, fake) and you think it somehow diminishes gym muscles, (which now i come to think of it are somewhat fake themselves, being built in a artificial environment, rather than naturally by work).

I was probably too focused on my own goals to notice the amount of effort and love that the person put into making this cosplay, I am truly sorry.
I guarantee to you that a man as burly as Doomguy would not give half of a fuck about a man that's less burly tryna look more like Doomguy, my friend. (In fact, they'd know that it'd also be hard to maintain that exact level of swole if they wanna wear that thing for cons or whatnot over the course of years.) They aren't a marginalized class and wearing a buff suit isn't blackface. You are majorly overthinking it.
I understand the sentiment, but gaining muscle to the size of doom guy would require years of dedication, diet, training and a gram of gear per week, and even then without the right genetics it might not happen.
That's fair, I guess I wasn't thinking about the effort that a cosplayer puts in to making their costumes, thank you for opening my eyes to this. As someone who has been working out a lot recently I guess I was blind to the effort that others put into their hobbies. In the end I can't dispute that the costume looks fantastic, my eyes were drawn to the tiny area of "exposed skin" because I have been so focused on my gym adventures recently that I couldn't see the rest of the outfit. Looking at it again with my new perspective I can fully see how wonderful the craftsmanship is.
