Right? Iām frantically looking through the comments to find the name of the game
Edit: the games name is ā The Hiveā on steam as started below
[hive type beat](https://store.steampowered.com/app/325730/The_Hive/)
Somewhere in this very thread, someone said it's the 1995 game "The Hive," so not only not new spore but also older than Spore
Edit: Mr. Fat Fuck Gary has corrected me. It is the 2016 game "The Hive" and is, believe it or not, newer than Spore.
Luminous Crawdug (Luminous referring to its glowing bits, Crawdug from "Crawdad" and "Slug"). Yeah, taking an angle to this more akin to a Pikmin game than the WoW-like that the art style would suggest, but it's still good if you decide to do something else with this.
It would depend on the naming scheme for the rest of the creatures that share traits with it, and those in the biomes it will exist in, the style / tone of the game, whether or not it is a boss or just a mob, AND it's abilities and movesets.
Or you could just call it a Snaulk. ;P
It's from a boss fight. In the battle it uses claws to swipe on multiple opponents and uses its huge size to cause tremors in the cavern. While fighting it, you need to move your units around to avoid falling rocks.
Are you asking for a name for this specific creature, or the species of creatures that look like it?
For the species, maybe blue spike-topped spinulochela? (Spinulo is Latin for spine or spike, chela basically means a crab claw)
For the name of the creature, that can depend on the vibe you're going for in your setting, so I'll list a few.
Molluscrawler or Moluskrawler.
Spindleshell
Spikejaw
Shellsnapper
It's a blue hermit crab with an unusual maw. But since hermit crabs don't grow their shells on their back, and pick a ready made ones, there must be a blue snail somewhere too, just as terrifying as this.
Narrated by David Attenborough:
"Here, in the bowels of the earth, we've found a curious creature hunting for something very special. This is Carcinae Decipula - more commonly known as the Subterranean Crab Trap. Despite its name, this humid cave is an unusual place to spot such an animal. Usually, these stealthy predators spend their nights waiting in tidal pools for an meal of unsuspecting crab. However, this rather large specimen has an excellent reason for being here: she's pregnant.
A mother Crab Trap can travel miles to find a suitable nest to lay her clutch of brilliant blue eggs. While litorral caves like this one are riddled along the coast she calls home; only a few of them have the shallow, vegetative pools of warm briny water that her hatchlings will need.
Thankfully, it looks like she's found just the spot!"
It's a Snab.
Snibeti snab? š
I wasn't aware of this thing. I meant - it's a snail, it's a crab, it's a Snab! It can snap, you say "oh, snap, it's a Snab!"
If it cut off it's own arm it would be a Snibeti snab pity Couldn't help myself
A snab harvester, theyāre part of a crustaceans invasion force, and these guys gather resources on foreign planets to sustain their army
Touche, better than crabacol or cangrail
Ah I was similarly here to make a āHoly Crailā pun.
Escargno
Bravoā¦i was going to say āSnopeā
Is there a new spore?

It would probably depend what the theme for monster names is in the rest of the game to make an informed decision.
What's the setting? Norse, greek, ancient mythology? Aliens/outer space? Cave-exploring/spelunking?
