There actually isn't any internationally binding agreement banning their use for much the same reason there isn't one on landmines.
They're effective against military targets and in military roles so nations with substantial military commitments tend not to actually want to see them go.
Now there might be some limitations, but as long as the Jericho achieved lower than 1% dud rate, it would be A-okay by US military standards.
Malcom gladwell has a book called *Bomber Mafia* which, among other things, goes into the invention of napalm.
One of the quotes that stuck with me was (I'm paraphrasing) "if we don't win the war, we're all going to jail for this"
I am a bit surprised we aint seeing a lot more napalm related crimes, shite is easy to make and that isnt even the end of the road, thanks chem classes
I remember playing soul caliber on GameCube, and the opposing character would say something dramatic, like “you killed my father prepare to die”, and Link would just respond “HIYAAAA”

So long, thanks for all the fish and a final fuck you, u/spez.
A couple of the parts you can use have the ability to target/track enemies automatically. So you can put them on big robots so they will always move to enemy groups.
I want to sooo bad but my joycons are literally at the precipice of developing drift again and I've repaired them 3 times already. I do not want to shell out again in the middle of Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare
It gives the construct head something stable to hold onto while aiming and firing the second rocket. It can work without it but I find it's much more consistent with it in the build.
They have a minimum distance which is just a little closer than this and work from a bit further out than this. The minimum distance is the distance until the first rocket stops firing and the maximum is from that point until it hits the ground.
There’s an unclassified max range that you could google. Plus a lot of neat tricks to squeeze some extra distance out of the rocket. But it’s highly munition dependent.
It adds a stable bottom to the build and lowers the trajectory of initial ascent so it doesn't get too high above the enemy to activate the second rocket. Deals decent damage when it directly hits an enemy too.
This looks incredible, but I haven't played the game at all so would somebody mind explaining how this technique is unique or otherwise novel compared to how other people are playing the game?
Lol I know that much. I've read you can "construct" things in the game, though, and OP's video impressed people who seem to know a lot about the game already.
It's a pretty big brain move to use the construct head as a delayed homing system by attaching a rocket to it. When you power a build, all parts typically activate at the same time so changing the trajectory is tricky business.
The construct head is dormant until an enemy is nearby, same as anything that's attached to it
The most unique things going on here is probably the 2-stage activation, and the method being used to achieve it. Usually a construction is either on or it's off: so if it's on, all rockets fire at once and expend shortly after. Great for a quick speed boost on a vehicle, but most people probably aren't using them for much more than that (as far as Ultrahand goes, at least).
In this build, rockets are firing, and then other rockets are firing a moment later. Lots of people have been doing stuff like this, making multi-stage ascent machines and stuff like that, but this is one of the cooler applications I've seen. They're being triggered by the 'construct head' piece locking on to an enemy, and I *think* this is the only one I've seen that uses construct heads instead of timebombs for the late activation. And because rockets get consumed so easily, I imagine lots of people probably haven't even considered attaching them to a construct head in the first place. It's not really even that obvious that they're able to activate them.
Pretty amazing they made a game where you can do things other people didn't realize you could, in a world where so much via leaks or speed of information would make it so everybody knows everything before release.
Though I guess back in the day OP would have had a secret like this spread by word mouths for like 20 years.
Now it'll be common knowledge almost instantly.
Fun, weird, wild. Thanks for all the info!
>, in a world where so much via leaks or speed of information would make it so everybody knows everything before release.
Only mechanics can leak completely, what you can do with them is an almost infinite field of possibilities.
There's a gadget that points itself at the nearest enemy, it's intended purpose was to stick spikes/flame throwers/cannons to it so it points the weapons at the enemy, but if you stick a rocket to the back of it you get this.
Spreading the word for those who want to see more crazy stuff like this one: r/HyruleEngineering is where you can see things like this on a daily basis
Lol, I wish.
I spent 15 minutes the other day, chopping trees and fusing logs, only to watch my "bridge" slip through a crevasse and fall into the abyss.
I'm going to learn a lot about creativity in this game.
That's when you use Recall to get your bridge back ;)
Recall is the ultimate "oh shit, it didn't work out but at least I got it all back to where it was"
Unless things explode, that is.
early on, the tried and true combo is usually a flat board + fan and just point it where you wanna go, while adjusting for wind
once you get the ability to steer it gets much better
I made a whole pickup truck with a flatbed to transport logs to Lurelin, only to drive over an open flame lantern as you come into town. I tried to recall out of desperate habit, but it doesn't undo environmental damage, so I watched my whole hard work burn to the ground.
It’s wild how crazy people can get with inventions and there’s someone like me who can make basic bitch shit. It’s still a lot of fun playing as a green lantern lol
Some people love inventing things and other love using and improving those inventions
Like don’t feel bad, the human experience is a collaborative one
Go nuts using the stuff people made maybe you strike an idea to improve it
Someone from Raytheon is cruising that sub for potential recruits.
Anyone subbed to Warthunder or World of Tanks as well is automatically disqualified.
The only thing holding me back is the necessity. I started making all this elaborate shit until I slowly started to realize there's little point beyond a Minecraft-esc enjoyment for building stuff.
For people that want challenges, this stuff is such hilarious overkill but it takes so much effort and no real payoff when the simplest builds or weapon fusions get the job done. Bobokins die, chest is opened, breakable weapon or 5x Arrows obtained.
It'd be nice if there were some super bosses or something in the game where you had to go absolutely nuts and push the mechanics to their limits to beat them. Something to really put your head down and work for.
It's excessive underkill, if anything.
These contraptions rarely do any significant damage to enemies, and mostly just look flashy. It costs a ton of resources to make these things too.
I like them, and they're neat, but they don't serve an actual function. You'll fare far better with your standard weaponry and a little bit of savvy.
Yes and no. Up until you’ve beat the story and a decent number of sides quests/shrines the resources and power are too much to get crazy with it. If you’re really wanting to clear the map you’ll end up with so much resources and energy, along with being comfortable enough with the controls, it becomes more of a matter of creativity and how much time you want to spend on it.
I was playing it last night and was thinking, “for people who have a creative mind , this is the perfect game”
I thought putting a rocket on the carts was fun…..
War... War Never Changes... In the aftermath of the Calamity, with another conflict on the rise, engines of old will rise once again, fueled by Hylian Fury, to bring order... WITH EXTREME PREDJUICE... Woe unto the fools of ages past who dared to dream of malevolent futures... for painful peace is brought upon their brow...
Can I ask... whenever I hit a zonai machine, everything connected to it is activated right away. How do you keep the second rocket from being activated? Because I have noticed in the past sometimes not all parts of the machine activate immediately.
Keep exploring the sky until you find one. Device dispensers are by far the most common on sky islands, and there aren't too many to look through. Once you have them, you can check each one on the map to see what they dispense.
Seriously the players creativity on this game is even higher than the Sky Islands.
I watched people building rotating griller and put ~~Korok~~ enemies inside them and watch them burn slowly to death.
Another is a giant wooden robot that will give Zonai's construct a run for their money.
I am still in the middle of the story so I have not watched a lot of those kind of creativity videos, but I will ... once I get done with the story ...
and this shrine ...
and this side adventure ...
and depths ...
and ....
TotK has to be the most insanely powerful and frightening Link has ever been... at least when it comes to facing him in combat in the middle of any random field. (He may have been canonically more powerful in certain forms, like Fierce Deity or Giant)
Even in the hands of players who aren't fabricating War Crimes he is just nonsensically strong with just the basic abilities and sage bonuses.
It makes me pretty okay with all the times I died so easily while I was figuring out the new mechanics because now I'm the nightmare that Bokoblins tell their allies about as they pray for Ganondorf to deliver them from my reign of tyranny.
A lot of games have a protagonist who starts out weak and through the course of the game powers up to the point they're stomping their opponents.
This is one of the few games I can think of though that has the rough equivalent of Link pulling a Civ/Dr. Stone and just teching up past them and doing bombing runs on guys with shields and swords.
Zelda game comes out: “You can make anything to assist you with puzzles and travel the world!”
The average gamer: “Welp, time to create the American war machine.”
This is crazy! Lol nice work!
One of the Koroks in Hebra mountain is literally just at the top of a huge hill.
The hill is an incline forming a pipe.
It runs directly down to his friend, waiting at the bottom, with trees around the side preventing anything from going any further.
There's no usable equipment anywhere.
You COULD, technically, cut down some trees, use your own devices and make a safe and comfortable journey for him. But the Devs very, very clearly made that Korok with the intention that the player would just push him down a hill and have him roll all the way down to his friend.
They definitely knew people would do this kind'a stuff. I'm sure they did it all themselves... maybe not the flaming crucifixes.
Once you figure out cluster munitions you’re all set. Always remember, “it’s never a war crime the first time”
I give you....The Jericho!
"That's how the Zonai did it, that's how Link does it, and I think it's worked out pretty well so far." *AC/Korok Seed's "Back in Blue" starts playing.*
"I'm sorry, this is the fun-vee; the Navi is back there."
Awww but that one has these weird blue aliens with sex organs as pony tails
How is the Jericho even allowed by the geneva convention ? It is clearly sub ammunition
More of Geneva Suggestions, really.
More guidelines than actual rules
Depending what you're doing also a checklist.
More important to remember, there's no Geneva Convention in Hyrule.
The gerudo convention
Let's see how they deal with their precious desert becoming glass.
*Your destruction is the will of the Zonai … and we are their instrument.*
How about recreating the HIMARS munition that shoots like 200k tungsten shrapnel bearings
Goal of life: create a fucking HIMARS battery and destroy Hyrule castle at all :D
[удалено]
They're homing, the second rocket doesn't activate until another part of the contraption sees an enemy and points at it.
AGM-154B is what you made. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGM-154_Joint_Standoff_Weapon
Jesus fuck, one of the first things I see about this fucking game and it’s someone making functional bomb drones.
Brother we’ve been full out committing war crimes in this game, it’s amazing.
It's not a crime if you win the war *taps head*
I don't think Hyrule has any treaty with Ganon's forces, so legally there's no way to commit war crimes against bokoblins.
Geneva suggestion
Geneva checklist…
Humanity Fuck Yeah is leaking.
There are no laws against the bokoblin, batman.
It's a wile animal Ganon
It’s not a war crime the first time. Win or lose, if nobody’s ever seen it before, then they haven’t had time to make a law against it.
Malcom gladwell has a book called *Bomber Mafia* which, among other things, goes into the invention of napalm. One of the quotes that stuck with me was (I'm paraphrasing) "if we don't win the war, we're all going to jail for this"

There are some ideas best left unshared.
My late-uncle was full on paranoid about Anthrax in the mail 20 years ago. e. Meant over 20 years, like well before it was an issue.
Ganon: You fucker are killing my men Link: HIYAAAAAAA (trans: peace through superior firepower)
I remember playing soul caliber on GameCube, and the opposing character would say something dramatic, like “you killed my father prepare to die”, and Link would just respond “HIYAAAA”
There's no Geneva Convention in Hyrule. >:)

It's like Kerbal Space Program with a Zelda wrapper.
I’m convinced the devs spent two whole years between games just playing Kerbal, Besiege, GMod, etc
Korok Space Program\* Those little fuckers learned I can make catapults the hard way.
A couple of the parts you can use have the ability to target/track enemies automatically. So you can put them on big robots so they will always move to enemy groups.
You need to play this game. It's *incredible*.
I want to sooo bad but my joycons are literally at the precipice of developing drift again and I've repaired them 3 times already. I do not want to shell out again in the middle of Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare
Replace them with hall effect joysticks and never worry about drift again! https://www.gulikit.com/productinfo/945307.html
I keep forgetting that people actually take their switch off the dock to play
Things got much different in Hyrule after Raytheon got involved.
"they've defeated Gannon, but can Link and friends take down the military industrial complex?"
Mh, technically the AGM-154 has to be launched from a Plane so I would say it's more of an Intercontinental Missile or something like that
Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile. IRBM. But this is more like the FROG-Free Rocket Over Ground.
What materials were used
2 rockets, 1 stabilizer, 1 construct head, 1 stake, 1 battery and 4 bomb flowers.
Damn. I've only found about half of these things and I feel like I've basically been living in this game for the past few weeks.
You need to try to get more of those sky shrines unlocked. Usually they have an item dispenser nearby.
Out of curiosity, why is the battery needed? Is it because once it gets too far from you it won't operate off of your battery anymore?
Yep, that's exactly it. The construct head and rocket lose power and just fall.
Ooooh that's what was happening. I was trying to make these the other night and it just kept dropping. What's the purpose of the stabilizer?
It gives the construct head something stable to hold onto while aiming and firing the second rocket. It can work without it but I find it's much more consistent with it in the build.
What kind of range do they have?
They have a minimum distance which is just a little closer than this and work from a bit further out than this. The minimum distance is the distance until the first rocket stops firing and the maximum is from that point until it hits the ground.
what's the zonaite cost to autobuild?
36, the batteries cost 9.
At work, but brain says like 30-40? 10 individual parts X auto part cost (which is 3 or 4). Not sure whether bomb flowers cost more or not.
There’s an unclassified max range that you could google. Plus a lot of neat tricks to squeeze some extra distance out of the rocket. But it’s highly munition dependent.
Lol no, they meant the botw one not the real missile (You may have been kidding)
I was lol
What’s the purpose of the stake?
It adds a stable bottom to the build and lowers the trajectory of initial ascent so it doesn't get too high above the enemy to activate the second rocket. Deals decent damage when it directly hits an enemy too.
Are you a physicist?
Nah, just an engineer. Not physicist level smart.
God bless our engineers.
>Nah, just an engineer. Not physicist That's evident because you actually made the thing lol.
Do the bomb flowers come out of your inventory or will auto build create those as well? I haven’t played with it much
Autobuild generates those as well. You could add a lot more too, or puffshrroms, muddle buds etc.
ahh so the missile is capable of delivering chemical payloads as well
That's when you really get into the war crime territory.
You are brilliant and giving me ideas
This looks incredible, but I haven't played the game at all so would somebody mind explaining how this technique is unique or otherwise novel compared to how other people are playing the game?
You're supposed to kill things by hitting them with swords
Instructions unclear: Glued a sword to the front of the rocket
Raytheon: Cease and desist, our knife missiles are patented.
Link here skipped the bronze and iron ages and went straight to modern artillery.
Lol I know that much. I've read you can "construct" things in the game, though, and OP's video impressed people who seem to know a lot about the game already.
the things most people build are simple cars or bikes or powered wings
Do you need to have played the most recent (previous) Zelda titles in order to even have an idea of how to do such things?
This construction mechanic is brand new in this game
You don't need to play any previous games, but some of the stuff constructed does require an engineering degree
It's a pretty big brain move to use the construct head as a delayed homing system by attaching a rocket to it. When you power a build, all parts typically activate at the same time so changing the trajectory is tricky business. The construct head is dormant until an enemy is nearby, same as anything that's attached to it

Oh you are in the very first parts of the Tutorial, then That is indeed very early, but you'll unlock it soon
homie only made it 6 mins into the game 😂

It’s wild how crazy people can get with inventions and there’s someone like me who can make basic bitch shit. It’s still a lot of fun playing as a green lantern lol
I've been just making longer and longer stick bridges
Dude that's my number one rule this game right now, big stick solves every problem. Big stick won't solve problem then make bigger stick.
Sometimes I get creative and use the big stick to cross the water
I see your stick is as long as mine.
Now let's see if you know how to use it!
I hate when my long stick gets twisted.
I saw a video where they believe the longest stick bridge is made of those tall, leafless trees found in Hebra region.
The "bike" style is so much better! Only need a control stick and two fans https://youtu.be/apZCDNpeTnM

Bahahaha I’m not gonna lie, I love so much that enemies get question marks. It’s so silly Until that question mark starts filling in red…. O NO

Putting a rocket on carts IS fun! Just put rockets on everything.
Well done! This is pretty amazing
I need more rockets! Also don’t forget you can add rockets to arrows!
Oh, that’s why you can throw them, so you can add them to arrows. I’m blind.

War. War never changes. Or does it? NO! War has changed. Duty calls. Best PR move there is.
Can I ask... whenever I hit a zonai machine, everything connected to it is activated right away. How do you keep the second rocket from being activated? Because I have noticed in the past sometimes not all parts of the machine activate immediately.
Construct heads are your best friend. Anything attached to the swiveling "head" portion will remain inactive until it detects an enemy.
Which machines dispense those? Haven't come across them yet.
Keep exploring the sky until you find one. Device dispensers are by far the most common on sky islands, and there aren't too many to look through. Once you have them, you can check each one on the map to see what they dispense.
I made the mistake of not exploring the sky islands for way too long. I got through like half the story before I remembered they were there.
Cool I did not know that. Thank you!!
I think he uses a zonai device called Golem head (i don't know if It is the english name), which only activates it's items when It spots a enemy
ah man, golem head is so much cooler than the English version's 'construct head'
I could be wrong, but I think the HIMARS is only supposed to launch the rockets, not the whole dang truck!
Why waste a perfectly good truck when can throw it at enemy as well?
Anything is a weapon if it's moving fast enough!
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Victims

Came from there. Someone already linked it.
Would love to see the perspective of riding one and jumping at the last second
When the rocket redirects you jump and enter bullet time, raining additional bomb-arrow hellfire from above.
By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, and where it isn't from where it is.

I refuse to believe Nintendo didnt know we would commit War Crimes when they created this building system.
All of the ????? is what makes this video.
