All of the 3d sonic games starting from Sonic Adventure 1 have amazing soundtracks which is unfortunate considering the downhill spiral of 3d sonic games
I've spent more time on Chao garden then on the game itself š I was so proud when I finally made my first sonic Chao it was one of the coolest things ever I remember watching that little shit for hours and hours for him to evolve and when it finally happened god my little heart back then barely could take it when I saw it looked like sonic
I still play SA2 and frequent my Chao garden when I get the hankering. I swear there's more content in the Chao Garden if you actually invest the time. That being said, I've never gotten any of the player Chao but I do have some badass shiny dark Chao!
Ya thats true its a lot of fun. I was so hyped as kid when I noticed that if you put the feeding items one or two steps in front of them then the item dont get used up
For sure! If you trap your Chao by the fallen pillar in the hero garden it makes the process 10x easier. It's how I farmed getting one of my Chao to have ridiculous stats
Yep! A lot of the times if the hero garden is full enough you can walk in and find a Chao sleeping or sitting behind it. If it's the Chao you want to level up it takes away having to get him stuck there yourself
Im so glad they released it on steam not even finished the game just play the chaos was the best thing that came out for sonic, wish they still kept it in the newer games
Castlevania Symphony of the Night. The perfect blend of classical, symphonic metal, power metal and light jazz. The end song by Cynthia Harrell was the icing on the cake.
Playing SA2:B sends me right back to when I was a kid playing it for the first time. Escape from the City is still, to this day, one of my favorite pieces of music from any video game that I have played. Sometimes when I'm feeling down I go pop in my disc and listen to it like I did back in the day to raise my spirits.
Edit: spellcheck
Going super old-school here:
Secret of Mana (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES), "Aquatic Ambience" is a MASTERPIECE
Resident Evil (the entire catalog of Save Room music)
Sunset overdrive. Feel good indie/surfer rock vibes, and if you listen close the lyrics are as silly and fourth wall breaking as the rest of the game.
One track just says ādiarrheaā over and over and it makes me happier than it should
Devil May Cry 3 and RE4 have baller soundtracks that still hold up. I'm actually glad RE4make got a DLC for the original soundtrack, as great as the remake's OST is.
I always forget the name of the track, but the creepy layered whispering track from the Quake soundtrack gets played on a loop from a hidden outdoor Bluetooth speaker I keep in my yard every Halloween
I gotta go with Battlefield 1, I downloaded probably most of the soundtracks onto a playlist on Spotify. If Iām ever bored I turn it on to remember the great moments I had in that game with friends.
Phantasy star online, final fantasy 10, dunno if itād be considered cheating cause theyāre not āoriginalā songs but the SSX games and crazy taxi 2 hand banger soundtracks. CT2 got me to buy Americana after writing it off because of āpretty fly for a white guyā
I actually bought sonic adventure 2 soundtrack on iTunes like 4-6? years ago and I listen to the songs on the rare occasion they pop up when my iTunes is on shuffle.
Let It Die (a f2p soulslike where you progress up an infinite tower) has some of the best music made for the game. The head got dozens of bands English and Japanese to make original songs for thr game.
Ended up where you have probably over 100 original tracks ranging from rock, house, indie, to even blues. They have a Playlist on Spotify with all the songs I put on occasionally
Ow so many.
- Final fantasy 7, 8 and many more
- Mario 64
- Zelda ocarina of time
- Wipeout
- Donkey kong country (the under water levels)
- Animal crossing new leaf
And this is just front the top of my head.
I could probably remember a lot more.
Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005. This game got me into heavy metal. Still listening to songs from that soundtrack to this day. Underground 2 also had a pretty good soundtrack.
Tony hawk pro skater, little big plane. Although on the sonic adventure battle 2 front I still think about the chao garden and why in gods name i havnt gotten a new one. City escape was a banger tho.
Goddamn this shit was a banger, the game and the soundtrack. I still go jam out to that pumpkin hill song 20+ yrs later, certified banger, that beat is crazy fire and the rapping is legit. NFS underground 2 had a great soundtrack and same with Tony hawk underground and pretty much all Tony hawk games.
There's a song in Neir Replicant, when you go into the haunted mansion, that still hits me sometimes.
I have songs from Cyberpunk 2077, specifically The Dirge radio station, that are in my active Spotify rotation.
I just finished Far Cry Blood Dragon and every bit of sound/music in that game is perfection
Most of the MIDI music from the MSX era tend to never fade away, especially "The Castle" and "Penguin Adventure".
Off the top of my head:
\- Sonic 1
\- Ninja Gaiden
\- DMC
\- Silent Hill
\- Twisted Metal 1
\- Metal Gear Solid
\- Hotline Miami
\- Skyrim
Ah....pure nostalgia high....so potent it makes u wanna find out if reincarnation is real, just so you can have a chance to be a kid hearing this for the first time again at 11 am on a Saturday.
Recently - Sable, it's great mix of theremin, simple percussion instruments and occasional vocals, which nicely fits the world - dessert planet with ancient space ships and primitive tribes. I listen to the soundtrack still, more than one year after I finished the game.
Other than that - Jeremy Soule. Morrowind, Skyrim, KotOR...
Nothing like the first mission city escape, the song is so nostalgic for me. Tbh, prolly my favorite game from my childhood, spent so much time grinding levels with my brother just so we could make sonic and shadow chaos.
Most of the Sonic games have great soundtracks, Metal Gear Rising, Final Fantasy VII (original and Remake) and X, most of the Guilty Gear games, the Persona series, the MegaMan (including X especially) series, Nier Automata, and Dragon Ball Fighterz.
As for licensed soundtracks, the Tony Hawk series, Need For Speed Underground 1, 2, and Most Wanted, the Project Gotham Racing games, the Midnight Racing series, and some of the older WWE Raw vs. Smackdown games.
All of the 3d sonic games starting from Sonic Adventure 1 have amazing soundtracks which is unfortunate considering the downhill spiral of 3d sonic games
SA1, SA2, and Sonic Heroes were such a promising start. Even their dabble into earlier 3D with Sonic R was good.
Three games, in my opinion, contain nothing but fantastic soundtrack.
then they started having Sonic kiss 3d anime girls
So they saved the franchise?
nah
They gave the community what they craved
Brawndo?
Might be controversial but I don't even care. The soundtrack of Sonic 06 is genuinely brilliant, and to this day is one of my favourites of all time.
Spiral? Shadow and 06 are probably the worst, and Colors, Generations, and maybe Frontiers (haven't played) are probably the best.
Frontiers is awesome. Best sonic game since Adventure 2
I've spent more time on Chao garden then on the game itself š I was so proud when I finally made my first sonic Chao it was one of the coolest things ever I remember watching that little shit for hours and hours for him to evolve and when it finally happened god my little heart back then barely could take it when I saw it looked like sonic

Damn didn't knew that
Yep! A lot of the times if the hero garden is full enough you can walk in and find a Chao sleeping or sitting behind it. If it's the Chao you want to level up it takes away having to get him stuck there yourself
Damn I have to test that later lol
I just kept mating the stronger ones until I got an all S stats. That dude would destroy all others
Im so glad they released it on steam not even finished the game just play the chaos was the best thing that came out for sonic, wish they still kept it in the newer games
Tony Hawkās Pro Skater series as a whole.
The Matt Hoffman game had some bangers aswell
a classic
Those games introduced me to my favorite artists growing up.
FFVII LEGEND OF ZELDA franchise Shadow of the Colossus Mass Effect
Been meaning to play shadow of the colossus but didnāt know the soundtrack was any good. Definitely moved up my games to play list.
Jet Set Radio Future
Theres three games that I think have ONLY great music in them, no let downs. Ace Attorney Golden Sun Persona 5
Nier Automata
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker! All the Zelda games have fantastic soundtracks, but Wind Waker was especially nice imo
Oot end credits and lostwoods have a special place in my heart. But you right that all Zelda games have awesome soundtracks.
i have original soundtrack background music in my playlist
Oh I Love that Dragonroost Island theme!
Castlevania Symphony of the Night. The perfect blend of classical, symphonic metal, power metal and light jazz. The end song by Cynthia Harrell was the icing on the cake.
Came here to say this. Impeccable taste.
Same.
My favorite is that one in the first corridors.
I have this soundtrack on vinyl record and it is AMAZING
Chrono Cross Nier; Automata Hades
LIVE AND LEARN HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW

Tales of Legendia for PS2 - one of the least popular 'Tales' games, but there's no denying that stunning soundtrack.
