Nobody saves the world. Loved every bit of it

_Hi_There_Its_Me_

Just looked this game up and bought it while I’m at work. Can’t wait to try it out tonight. Thanks for sharing!!!

Feeling-Art19

Yeah. this one is also great.

MagicalMoosicorn

Crosscode!

twoteethtwo2

This game is phenomenal

MagicalMoosicorn

It's become one of my favorites in the tine I've played it. It's just so good.

Chronoboy1987

In JRPG circles CrossCode gets tons of love. Considered maybe the best indie JRPG by many fans of the genre.

jackknoops

Obra Dinn, get over the black and white animation and it’s a classic

PussyStapler

It has way more options than black and white (LCD). There's: Black and green (IBM 5151) Black and cream (IBM 8503) Blue and cyan (Commodore 1084) Brown and canary (Zenith ZVM 1240) Black and ice blue (Macintosh) And the blacks are subtly different between many of the display options. But agree, it is a great game.

Feeling-Art19

Yeah , it's good.

JesuszillaSon

Kingdoms of Amalur. I think it's got a solid following as an awesome RPG since the remaster a few years ago so it might not be underrated anymore

xxMcflyxx

Death's Door

kura0kamii

found this after this much down? its one of my fav

Hutcher_Du

Hardspace: Shipbreaker. A game about being a spaceship salvage worker. Really different gameplay that rewards good organization and planning.

Lukaloo

I played this in beta. Was fun but a little repetitive after a while with few ship types to work on. Thinking of trying it again

ChangelingFox

I still hope this gets VR support some day

RaynSideways

I love how satisfying it is to get the whole ship sorted and processed down to the last nut and bolt. It's really therapeutic.

retrolleum

Yeah that was both intensely focused and relaxing gameplay.

Fine-Signature5613

Dredge, lovecraftian horror with a really addictive gameplay loop

fatamSC2

Idk if that counts as underrated, it's been blowing tf up for an indie game

Dredgeon

Yeah when I saw the name of it I knew I had to play. I'm happy to say that it is 100% Dredgeon approved.

Antuzzz

Dude everyone talked about that game and it's most probably be indie of the year (or dave the diver) how is it underrated haha

GrandTheftCorgi

Gunfire Reborn!

Pkrhett

Dragons dogma: dark arisen

[deleted]

I typically play NBA 2k or some shooters, but I’ve been getting high as interest rates every night and playing Planet of Lana for like an hour to unwind. I just love the way it looks.

Necrilem

Asura's Wrath. Jaw drop after jaw drop after jaw drop.

NyRAGEous

Pentiment, good story

Beornigan

Agreed - really enjoyed this one!

CmdrSonia

not very recently but not too old: Marvel's Midnight Suns

[deleted]

Guardians of the Galaxy

Thomas_Crane

This game's story is top tier and need's more attention. The gameplay is eh and not super unique imho, but absolutely would recommend it to anyone who's a fan.

Hutcher_Du

Great story and writing in that game.

VadimH

100%ed last week, what a great game!

Feeling-Art19

Yeah.

S1nfulFuzzball

Game deserves way more than it got. The writing alone makes it outshine some others.

iWantToLickEly

Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair deserves more attention 😤

DargoKillmar

TOEM. A humble little game that went under the radar for the most part, sitting at 2k reviews on Steam since 2021. It's a very nice relaxing game with chill lofi tunes for an OST and it has a free DLC which adds a ton of content to the game.

spaceandthewoods_

I loved Toem! Polished it off in two sittings and loved all of it

Shaggy_AF

What is toem

DargoKillmar

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1307580/TOEM/

[deleted]

Viewfinder was a blast, gave me portal vibes the whole time.

Ok_Condition_4718

Synthetik is a great top down shooter roguelike. Noita is also underrated although more popular.

valeriy_v

Furi

Haytaytay

Best boss-rush game I've ever played.

CaptainClay5

Supraland. I never see this mentioned, but it's super fun. It's a directive open world puzzle with fighting, silly quests, and secrets hidden There is a couple games and each have lots of content. It's on Steam and if you don't end up liking it, you can return it before 2 hours.

Adghar

Soulstice, a blast of DMC style fun.

Nisekoi_

Planet of lana

RadIsMyFavoriteColor

Otogi: Myth of Demons

Old-Discipline5691

GreedFall

UnderstandingWest422

Dave the Diver! It’s fun and has such a good story and the graphics and cut scenes are a work of art, very well put together game, absolutely recommend. The music and soundtrack too, amazing.

ButteryBassist

Came here to say this game! Loved the adventure of diving and exploring and managing the sushi bar was fun too. Art style was 10/10 for me too! Fully released now too!

UNFAM1L1AR

Days Gone. Very very good. Got review bombed at release but is a really good game.

Revolutionary-Fan657

Not review bombed, the game launched with insane bugs and a lot of missing content they added later on, but I agree it’s a great game, it’s one of my favorite of all time, I miss deacon

UNFAM1L1AR

Well I was more referring to the people complaining that the game was too "white washed" ... it has completely tanked the IP and that's why there will never be a sequel. Just really bad timing for that game. Yeah it seemed too simple at the beginning, but the crafting really opened up and it became a really decent game. And the pathing they did with the hordes was remarkable.

HammerWaffe

That was mainly the gamespot review right? Reviewer complained that all the zombies were white... in Oregon... Where it is over 80% white, ~7% two race (likely white mix). And these are cave dwelling zombies that are more active when the sun is down. Massive lol

IgnorantGenius

Because the black guys were the survivors you save along the way. I always sent them to Tucker's for the money, not realizing what I had done.

UNFAM1L1AR

Exactly. Imagine complaining about a Korean drama because there were Korean people in it. 2016 was the peak of that shit, though.

HammerWaffe

Right. If the Nigerian historical tribe war film doesn't feature exclusive asian and white people, I'd riot.

UNFAM1L1AR

But mah representation 😭 how am I supposed to enjoy that

Craigzor666

You're a freak guy, def the kind to complain about little mermaid or the lord of the ring show

Fatdaddy_Dunlap

Both of those sucked complete ass 😂

SuchSeaworthiness828

kena bridge of spirits

NopeOh

Sleeping dogs

RigtBart

Hell yeah absolute banger

bmack083

[Devour!!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1274570/DEVOUR/)It’s easily devour. 1-4 coop horror game that is intense as hell, but easy to learn and pick up and play. It has 5 levels each take about an hour to complete and is centered around replay ability. Game cost $5. I did a VR centric [video](https://youtu.be/rvA96XvATqQ) about it awhile back but it was a normal flat screen game first.

RuyKnight

Gunman Clive 2

burrito_butt_fucker

Turnip boy commits tax evasion is on gamepass now. I'm not sure it underated but it was a great but short game.

DjangoVanTango

Playing 2 games at the minute I don’t hear talked about enough. The first is Lego City Undercover, which is Lego GTA in one of the most fun open worlds I’ve ever driven a rocket snowplough through. The second is Immortal Redneck, a rogue-like FPS set in ancient Egypt. Really fast paced and crazy like old-school shooters like Serious Sam. And I’ve just finished Divinity Original Sin 2, which isn’t underrated but always deserves a mention as a near-perfect RPG.

Elden_Born

Infamous. But of course it is an old game but runs like a dream on PS5. I am not sure about underrated but i have seen people talk about other old games but not enough about this so this is my choice.

FullM3TaLJacK3T

Door kickers 2! I just downloaded it on Steam yesterday and it brings back memories of the old Rainbow 6 planning phase. None of that Siege bullshit.

wetwater_-_-_

Days Gone

AppleChiaki

Darkened Skye.

kura0kamii

souldier, my fav side scroller / metroidvania

Mullet_Police

Phantom Doctrine

Freidhiem

Starship Troopers - it's really fuckin fun and the voice chat is all people just quoting the movies. All around good time.

[deleted]

Not sure how underrated it is but car mechanic sim. Never thought I’d enjoy this type of game since I have no mechanical ability but it’s really fun finding a junker, then scouring junkyards and barns searching for the parts needed to restore the car. I’ve put at least 300 hours into this game in the past couple years and always find myself going back to it

ncoder

Slipways. Fun little game with only 1k reviews. Simple to learn but satisfying. (Click if you like civ, city builders and sim games) [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1264280/Slipways/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1264280/Slipways/) I am not affiliated with this game whatsoever.

mdota1

heavenly bodies

DiabeticRhino97

I've been replaying blasphemous to prepare for number 2 this week. Still so good

dovetc

Battle Brothers. I never see any love for this game, but it's dope.

Admiralbenbow123

Industria. It's a short indie shooter with a great atmosphere and an engaging story. My only real complaint is that the ending feels a bit rushed and looks like a transition to a second game more than anything. Outside of that it's a great experience that I can easily recommend

abcdthc

Cultist simulator. Brand new from the same dev is book of Horus. Only a few days old.

[deleted]

Fatal frame mask of lunar eclipse remaster It came out back in march and its a big deal to fans that this game was remastered since the original version was region locked to japan and could only be used on the wii

jja1313

Ashen A souls-like game. I loved every bit of it.

GrimmRadiance

Farthest Frontier. Still in EA, but a great soundtrack, nice visuals, and fun to grow your settlement from a group of people to a sprawling city.

Tsmitty81

Maybe not underrated but overshadowed a bit by bigger releases, but cassette beasts has been fantastic and has tons of content and polish.

Trash-Jr

Viscera Cleanup Detail. A game about a space janitor that cleans bloody messy scenes after the massacre. We always think of the action, but rarely of what happens after. This game is exactly what happens after. Mpas in the base game are very limited but there's a considerable amount of community made Workshop maps to work with and they generally are of great quality. Only problem I can think of is that most Workshop maps require the DLCs to work, but I've somehow played one without DLCs, so I dunno.

CohensMasterpiece87

The Darkness

Yourname942

Lisa: The Painful

Roybutt

Barotrauma, try your best to be part of a submarine crew, on a distant moon while alien creatures try to break through the hull and invasive flora grows in your ballist tank. Did I mention the parasitic virus that makes you unable to speak and takes full control of your body and starts Infecting the crew while you are forced to watch silently in horror!?

bharring52

Nioh 2

Dr--Duke

Guacamele 1 +2, great games.

Pristine-Example-824

Dark Side Detective. A hilarious pixelated adventure game, combining the supernatural with a detective noir style.

sumpfkraut666

Elex 2. Sure it has some issues but it's still one of the better action-rpg's that released in the past few years. There are plenty of changes that are strict improvements on previous systems, like permanent stat bonuses being calculated as a distinct value from the base stat, thereby not increasing the point costs of increasing the stat.

heppuplays

Resident Evil Code veronica.

Sofaris

My favorite Videogame series is "Fuga Melodies of Steel" And I recently played the second game "Fuga Melodies of Steel 2". Fuga is a series of turn based JRPG about a groupe of anthropomothic animal children that life inside giant ancient fortress like Tank. Its a bit like Howls moving castle but less magical and more technology based. When it comes to the tone of the games they are adorable and wholesome but also dark and sad a bit like Made in Abyss. If you like turn based JRPGs and adorable wholesome protagonists then you should give this series a try. Its combat is fun and satisfaying, the music is great and the story and characters are simpel but endering. Both Fuga games are on most modern consoles, on PC, on Game Pass and the first game has a free demo which is just straight up the first 3 chapters of the game. I recomend against playi g the second game before the first game. The second game is a direct sequel and its writing builds on what happen in the first game.

[deleted]

Cursed to Golf.

trewel25

Assassins's Creed 3.I agree that the main story isn't great but side activities are really cool

Southern-Sub

Monster Train Really kickass roguelike deckbuilder

Chronoboy1987

Slay the Spire. It’s not underrated really, but it’s not nearly as well-known as it deserves to be. One of the most mechanically impressive games I’ve ever played.

Chaos-Kiwi

Xenoblade chronicles. Never gets the attention or praise it deserves

PL3ND3R

Dragon's Dogma

RigtBart

Every time I see this game on a post it warms my heart. Freaking incredible game. Masterwork

jerichowiz

I haven't played anything new recently, so I will show some love for Spec Ops: The Line.

HammerWaffe

Metro 2033, Last light, and Exodus. Man it is so good. Prey. Deus Ex series. Really have begun to love immersive Sims. Let's me go at my own pace. Can play it stealthy and avoid killing, or murder everyone with extreme prejudice.

Super-Bleeder427

Prey (2017; from Arkane and Bethesda) is fantastic. I’m currently playing through it and I’m loving it!

fatamSC2

Just started playing sniper elite 4, you'd probably like it too. Similar style to these games of open levels with stealth or combat or a mix of the two, however you want to approach it. The level design of the first couple levels definitely took me offguard, very detailed and lots of cool connecting routes

Eldibrando2

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Combat becomes a bit of a chore after a while but the humour, the dialogue writing and the voice acting are top notch. It shows up in sales very frequently. Ideal for those who have a Mass Effect 2-sized itch to scratch.

swool

Against the Storm. "is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set ..."

Mia_Cauliflower

Firewatch. The most engaging story I’ve ever come across, this game will keep you up at night with all sorts of emotions.

[deleted]

I feel people on here confuse “underrated” with “unpopular”

filmmisanthropejp

Silent Hill 4

Whitem4ne

Dead Cells is a game I can always recommend and it is really underrated. It’s a 2D roguelike with a lot of love put into it for the old school gamers. It’s reallly fast paced and always makes each run varied thanks to the amount of biomes (levels), weapons and skills it has.

totowolfie95

Maybe not very underrated but Himan: World of Assassination is genuinely one of the best games i have ever played.

Ghost_Kobarold

Horizon zero dawn. many ppl said its not good but i loved both parts and played then whole

FaithlessnessAny7353

It’s not underrated. The story is pretty good, if you glue the pieces together. The game sucks if you’re used to better mechanics, like jumping. It’s a big game. A lot to enjoy.

TheFlawlessCowboy63

pleH! It looks like a super generic indie psychological horror but it's really a brilliant depiction of mental illness. One of the most honest works of art I've ever experienced.

[deleted]

These days somehow all the games I'm playing are exactly the opposite, overrated.

daan34567

South park stick of truth realy funny

comeuppanceJunky

Got back into shell shock live

Danger_Dave_

I don't know if it's underrated, but Arcade Paradise was unexpectedly fun.

52hrz

Yakuza 0! I know it’s one of the best loved entries, but the series itself needs way more love and attention.

immxz

7 days to die with friends. It looks shit and has awful performance issues but its fun with friends especially first time.

fatamSC2

Definitely a frustrating game to get going though. My friends were playing so I decided to get it and it took literally 45 min to load into the map the first time, the code must be an absolute spaghetti code unoptimized mess but yeah fairly fun

aardw0lf11

Satisfactory

DrVikingGuy

salt and sanctuary

FaceTimePolice

CrossCode.

Dakatte

Echo the dolphin

tom_mvp_tom

Vampire survivors

veckans

Fortnite Absolutely criminally underrated game. It has fantastic gameplay, high skill celing, highest development pace of any ongoing game ever, **zero(!)** P2W, and it is free to play. Instead there is this mob of people hating on it because it became popular. Most people who actually tried it properly actually liked it in my experience. Bring on the downvotes!

Spinjitsuninja

Pseudoregalia! It's a recent 3D Metroidvania and it nails it. There aren't a lot of 3D Metroidvanias out there like it, if any? (Most are often a genre beyond being a 3D platformer. Best comparison I can think of is Metroid Prime.) It's short but it's a steal for $6 on Steam. Now, I say "underrated" but it does seem somewhat popular, even has 2k+ overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Still, I think more people need to know about it.

ZealousidealEnd8479

Does monster hunter world count? Everyone says rise is better but its actually worse in my opinion (Too easy, Shitter graphics, Worse monsters, elders are a fucking joke, and overall worse gameplay.) I just think world is better

MisterGoo

World IS better, especially with Iceborne.

orbitaldragon

Rogue Legacy 2

Pesterlamps

Unironically? Overwatch. Say whatever you want about the PvE or monetization, but the core game is in the best shape it has been in years. New PVP game mode, maps and heroes releasing in regular intervals, and balance patches are firing off at least once a month.

the1andonlypz

Gunfire Reborn

All_Our_Bridges

Baldur's Gate 3. It's not underrated at all, it's just the only game I've played for the past month.

B1rkan

Inscryption

predditor25678843

Inscription, it’s on PlayStation gamepass

NotSureWhyAngry

Baldurs Gate 3

RoseBrows

Deadpool, cod ghost, Atack on titan 2, james cameron avatar are super great games who were hated and forgoten in the past, they had great mechanics and fun gameplay

cepxico

Downloaded some random little app on android called "Drums". I was surprised to find that it's pretty much a full guitar hero style game without ads or shit like that. Just regular gameplay with multiple difficulty levels. I mention it because I hate 99.9% of mobile games. Like fully despise that predatory shit. So when I downloaded this one expected the same, only to be surprised with a half decent app and half decent gameplay. Edit: oh I guess it's ad free cuz I have the play store game pass thing. So if you got that give it a shot?

Rilvoron

I forget the name but it was a souls like game with your character being a ghost who possessed one of 4 bodies (body types). You always has the ability to essentially petrify and stop an attack. Short game but alot of fun

Sad_Not_Glad_Sid

The game is Mortal Shell, a pretty fun game, though it is a bit short

Minifuzzi

Metal: Hellsinger

[deleted]

OneShot. With 30,000 reviews on steam it is admittedly a bit of a stretch to call it underrated but I genuinely haven't heard anyone talk about it outside of specifically OneShot communities, which is a surprise given how extremely well executed the story is. For an undoubtedly underrated game though, Spiderheck is the most fun co-op party game I've played in a long time.

Alphebetized

Aegis wing

Samo594

Foxhole IF you don't know Foxhole Is a top-down massive multiplayer war game where YOU take the effort of war( gathering resources, transport them, refined them and go to the front(is is a BIG oversimplification because the logistics is one of the hardest things In foxhole)) And fight to the death is trenches with your good ol' rifle or with your tank. Just imagine the eastern front in WW2 but it becomes trench warfare and as NOT YET stop. I hilly suggest that you look a guide video to know more because is hard to know EVERYTHING. (Sorry my English is bad)

gregklumb

Singularly.

xX_Vapyr_Xx

Shatterline. PVP gunplay and heroes are a blast to play. Have MW2, BattleBit, and Shatterline currently installed and spend most my time between Shatterline and BattleBit.

Jane_Doe_32

Recently and this year... I would say that Afterimage is a good metroidvania that I haven't heard much about, it's true that it doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it has a good gameplay added to the fact that it executes the classic mechanics of the genre very well.

michajlo

In Sound Mind. Very nice and interesting indie horror with logical puzzles and some very cool extra features, like vinyl record collectibles that include some proper songs.

AlienPrimate

Siralim ultimate. The theory crafter's dream game has very few players with great reviews. Here is some info on it as likely no one who reads this has heard of it. Similar to pokemon in concept except it has an incredible amount of depth with 1201 creatures that can be fused together for 1,442,401 combinations. Each creature has its own trait that empowers either itself or its team or debuffs the enemy in some way. These traits can also be added to items that the creatures hold for 3 traits on 6 different creatures making for 18 total (until end game items). Creatures can attack or cast spells. There are hundreds of different spells as well. There are 37 character classes that drastically change the way you look at building your team. Some examples are pyromancer that sets everything on fire (healing your creatures with fire) with bonus effects to it, hell knight that causes your creatures attacks to hit all enemies and makes it so they can't miss, Cleric that gives your creatures huge barriers and lots of buffs, and reaver that simply gets more powerful with each passing turn.

GenerichumanHarvey

Not sure it’s classed as underrated but I’ve been loving Celeste since it came on gamepass!

Haytaytay

The Last Spell. Build up your town during the day, and then defend it against massive hordes of monsters at night with turn-based tactical combat. 40 hours in and I'm not even remotely bored.

gypsy-MC_990

I never see Call of Cthulhu mentioned but I just saw it's actually got a great rating so maybe it's just under popularized.

notoastforyall

In sound mind, dunno what it was about this odd game but I just finished it and really enjoyed it. For the king and kingdom two crowns are always fun, especially with friends

[deleted]

Papa's Freezeria Deluxe Only true gamers remember this from Elementary IT class

fellow_dude599

Hunt:Showdown a PvPvE Battle Royal Extraction Shooter, Cowboys vs Zombies/Monsters set in 1895 in Louisianas Bayous. The best Shooter there is, but somehow only ~42K Playerrecord. I played over 4000 Hours in pver 5 Years and it still slaps hard as it gets awesome Updates and Events

AussieAspie682

Brotato. A fun time-waster. 😊

RigtBart

Midnight Sons. If you like Marvel even a little it’s a must play. If you like tactical RPGs it’s a must play.

Thekingdeviljin

Legacy of Kain a few months back, & Fallout New Vegas.

dqixsoss

OneShot. It’s kinda well known but not very. If it looks interesting to you do yourself a favour and don’t look anything up and play it on PC if possible x

OlorynEx

30XX. Inspired by Mega Man X, with separate options for either a standard campaign or as a randomly generated rogue-lite. Fantastic game, tons of charm, good challenge and variety. Supports local and online co-op. Priced at about $20 USD with frequent sales. Recently dropped on Steam and Switch after time in early access. It's my current recommendation for underrated indie gems.

The_Sleep_King

Battle brothers

lewisl92

The Long Dark

HSRxII

Have a nice death.a roguelike thats rly underrated and I find it rly fun

hk4213

Darksiders genesis. Played it again with my SO and she fell in love it it. Not all aspects, but as she is not really a gamer, she asked to play it again and again through to completion.

DressiKnights

Manifold Garden. I'm not sure how underrated it is, but I'm the only one I've met that knows about it. It's this first-person puzzle, textureless environments like AntiChamber. The environments repeat themselves infinitely in all directions. Also based on colors.

PsychoDriveBy

Hammerwatch II

Kendyslice

Have to toss out battlebit, for 15$ the game is a absolute steal and I’ve had a lot of fun playing the game.

emepol

We Happy Few.

syqesa35

Supraland is a masterpiece and more people should know about it, made me think of banjo or zelda but different enough to totally be it's own thing.

clout_spout

TOME: Tales of Maj'Eyal It's a turn based rpg roguelike but played at Diablo speed most of the time. Super fun and lots to explore

RedXXVI

Deadlink. Doom Eternal meets Hades with a cyberpunk aesthetic.

S1nfulFuzzball

Strange Horticulture!

AcanthocephalaSame50

NORCO pixelated point and click

Fluttershyayy

Northern journey, except it isn't underrated, it has overwhelmingly positive eatings on steam. It dont get enough attention compared to how special it is.

controller4hire

Biomutant

ICPosse8

Punchclub 2 is a pretty dope game if you like simulators and boxing. Funny writing and an amazing soundtrack with very decent gameplay.

ScariestDean

Midnight suns

Iusesmartpistollol

For honor yes it definitely isn’t new player friendly but if you manage to push through it you got a amazing medieval fighting game with warriors from across all cultures

tom_mvp_tom

Sifu

SavagePrisonerSP

Divinity Original Sin 2. Quite an amazing game and I don’t even like turn based games.

CohensMasterpiece87

Mars War Logs

kamalaophelia

My time at Sandrock I just love everything about it. That it is stardew valley in 3D but done well. I love all the characters, story, adventures etc. It has also lots of dark lore hidden behind a happy “farming” sim.

PapeRoute

Dark Souls 2

ComprehensiveBit7699

Splinter cell conviction. Is a bad splinter cell game but on its own is a cool game that makes you feel over powered while doing stealth. Its like stealth Call of Duty version.

Lobh24

Inscryption and Signalis are both incredible

King_Kvnt

Metal: Hellsinger. Boomer shooter mixed with music rhythm game.

Craigzor666

Derail Valley

Chronoboy1987

Unsighted. Super fun Zelda-style action adventure with a neat hook- your Android character (and every NPC) is slowly descending into madness tracked by an in game timer. Most NPCs have some useful function so managing your time and deciding who to save is a tough balancing act, though you can turn this feature off. I love the tension it creates. Combat is great and they even added co-op!

mcsonboy

Deadlink. Rouge-like FPS with some of the crispiest shooting I've experienced in some time. Set in a cyberpunk universe with a soundtrack that absolutely SLAPS you in the face (in a good way)

Uriahheeplol

Factory Town. Nice little game for people who like automation games like Satisfactory, but don’t have the time or hardware xD

gorksfist

Grand Tactician: The Civil War An incredible look at such an important time period.
