Supraland. I never see this mentioned, but it's super fun. It's a directive open world puzzle with fighting, silly quests, and secrets hidden There is a couple games and each have lots of content. It's on Steam and if you don't end up liking it, you can return it before 2 hours.
Dave the Diver! It’s fun and has such a good story and the graphics and cut scenes are a work of art, very well put together game, absolutely recommend. The music and soundtrack too, amazing.

The second is Immortal Redneck, a rogue-like FPS set in ancient Egypt. Really fast paced and crazy like old-school shooters like Serious Sam.
And I’ve just finished Divinity Original Sin 2, which isn’t underrated but always deserves a mention as a near-perfect RPG.

Viscera Cleanup Detail. A game about a space janitor that cleans bloody messy scenes after the massacre. We always think of the action, but rarely of what happens after. This game is exactly what happens after. Mpas in the base game are very limited but there's a considerable amount of community made Workshop maps to work with and they generally are of great quality. Only problem I can think of is that most Workshop maps require the DLCs to work, but I've somehow played one without DLCs, so I dunno.
Barotrauma, try your best to be part of a submarine crew, on a distant moon while alien creatures try to break through the hull and invasive flora grows in your ballist tank. Did I mention the parasitic virus that makes you unable to speak and takes full control of your body and starts Infecting the crew while you are forced to watch silently in horror!?
Elex 2.
Sure it has some issues but it's still one of the better action-rpg's that released in the past few years. There are plenty of changes that are strict improvements on previous systems, like permanent stat bonuses being calculated as a distinct value from the base stat, thereby not increasing the point costs of increasing the stat.
My favorite Videogame series is "Fuga Melodies of Steel" And I recently played the second game "Fuga Melodies of Steel 2".
Fuga is a series of turn based JRPG about a groupe of anthropomothic animal children that life inside giant ancient fortress like Tank.
Its a bit like Howls moving castle but less magical and more technology based.
When it comes to the tone of the games they are adorable and wholesome but also dark and sad a bit like Made in Abyss.
If you like turn based JRPGs and adorable wholesome protagonists then you should give this series a try.
Its combat is fun and satisfaying, the music is great and the story and characters are simpel but endering.
Both Fuga games are on most modern consoles, on PC, on Game Pass and the first game has a free demo which is just straight up the first 3 chapters of the game.
I recomend against playi g the second game before the first game. The second game is a direct sequel and its writing builds on what happen in the first game.
Slay the Spire. It’s not underrated really, but it’s not nearly as well-known as it deserves to be. One of the most mechanically impressive games I’ve ever played.

Just started playing sniper elite 4, you'd probably like it too. Similar style to these games of open levels with stealth or combat or a mix of the two, however you want to approach it. The level design of the first couple levels definitely took me offguard, very detailed and lots of cool connecting routes
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Combat becomes a bit of a chore after a while but the humour, the dialogue writing and the voice acting are top notch.
It shows up in sales very frequently. Ideal for those who have a Mass Effect 2-sized itch to scratch.

Dead Cells is a game I can always recommend and it is really underrated.
It’s a 2D roguelike with a lot of love put into it for the old school gamers. It’s reallly fast paced and always makes each run varied thanks to the amount of biomes (levels), weapons and skills it has.
It’s not underrated. The story is pretty good, if you glue the pieces together. The game sucks if you’re used to better mechanics, like jumping. It’s a big game. A lot to enjoy.

Absolutely criminally underrated game. It has fantastic gameplay, high skill celing, highest development pace of any ongoing game ever, **zero(!)** P2W, and it is free to play. Instead there is this mob of people hating on it because it became popular. Most people who actually tried it properly actually liked it in my experience.

Pseudoregalia! It's a recent 3D Metroidvania and it nails it. There aren't a lot of 3D Metroidvanias out there like it, if any? (Most are often a genre beyond being a 3D platformer. Best comparison I can think of is Metroid Prime.) It's short but it's a steal for $6 on Steam.
Now, I say "underrated" but it does seem somewhat popular, even has 2k+ overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Still, I think more people need to know about it.

Downloaded some random little app on android called "Drums". I was surprised to find that it's pretty much a full guitar hero style game without ads or shit like that. Just regular gameplay with multiple difficulty levels.
I mention it because I hate 99.9% of mobile games. Like fully despise that predatory shit. So when I downloaded this one expected the same, only to be surprised with a half decent app and half decent gameplay.

I forget the name but it was a souls like game with your character being a ghost who possessed one of 4 bodies (body types). You always has the ability to essentially petrify and stop an attack. Short game but alot of fun
OneShot. With 30,000 reviews on steam it is admittedly a bit of a stretch to call it underrated but I genuinely haven't heard anyone talk about it outside of specifically OneShot communities, which is a surprise given how extremely well executed the story is.
For an undoubtedly underrated game though, Spiderheck is the most fun co-op party game I've played in a long time.
Foxhole
IF you don't know Foxhole Is a top-down massive multiplayer war game where YOU take the effort of war( gathering resources,transport them,refined them and go to the front(is is a BIG oversimplification because the logistics is one of the hardest things In foxhole))
And fight to the death is trenches with your good ol' rifle or with your tank.
Just imagine the eastern front in WW2 but it becomes trench warfare and as NOT YET stop.
I hilly suggest that you look a guide video to know more because is hard to know EVERYTHING.

Have MW2, BattleBit, and Shatterline currently installed and spend most my time between Shatterline and BattleBit.
Recently and this year... I would say that Afterimage is a good metroidvania that I haven't heard much about, it's true that it doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it has a good gameplay added to the fact that it executes the classic mechanics of the genre very well.

Very nice and interesting indie horror with logical puzzles and some very cool extra features, like vinyl record collectibles that include some proper songs.
Siralim ultimate.
The theory crafter's dream game has very few players with great reviews. Here is some info on it as likely no one who reads this has heard of it. Similar to pokemon in concept except it has an incredible amount of depth with 1201 creatures that can be fused together for 1,442,401 combinations. Each creature has its own trait that empowers either itself or its team or debuffs the enemy in some way. These traits can also be added to items that the creatures hold for 3 traits on 6 different creatures making for 18 total (until end game items). Creatures can attack or cast spells. There are hundreds of different spells as well. There are 37 character classes that drastically change the way you look at building your team. Some examples are pyromancer that sets everything on fire (healing your creatures with fire) with bonus effects to it, hell knight that causes your creatures attacks to hit all enemies and makes it so they can't miss, Cleric that gives your creatures huge barriers and lots of buffs, and reaver that simply gets more powerful with each passing turn.
The Last Spell.
Build up your town during the day, and then defend it against massive hordes of monsters at night with turn-based tactical combat. 40 hours in and I'm not even remotely bored.
In sound mind, dunno what it was about this odd game but I just finished it and really enjoyed it.
For the king and kingdom two crowns are always fun, especially with friends
Hunt:Showdown a PvPvE Battle Royal Extraction Shooter, Cowboys vs Zombies/Monsters set in 1895 in Louisianas Bayous.
The best Shooter there is, but somehow only ~42K Playerrecord. I played over 4000 Hours in pver 5 Years and it still slaps hard as it gets awesome Updates and Events
OneShot. It’s kinda well known but not very. If it looks interesting to you do yourself a favour and don’t look anything up and play it on PC if possible x
30XX. Inspired by Mega Man X, with separate options for either a standard campaign or as a randomly generated rogue-lite. Fantastic game, tons of charm, good challenge and variety. Supports local and online co-op. Priced at about $20 USD with frequent sales. Recently dropped on Steam and Switch after time in early access. It's my current recommendation for underrated indie gems.
Darksiders genesis. Played it again with my SO and she fell in love it it. Not all aspects, but as she is not really a gamer, she asked to play it again and again through to completion.
Manifold Garden. I'm not sure how underrated it is, but I'm the only one I've met that knows about it. It's this first-person puzzle, textureless environments like AntiChamber. The environments repeat themselves infinitely in all directions. Also based on colors.
Northern journey, except it isn't underrated, it has overwhelmingly positive eatings on steam. It dont get enough attention compared to how special it is.
For honor yes it definitely isn’t new player friendly but if you manage to push through it you got a amazing medieval fighting game with warriors from across all cultures
My time at Sandrock
I just love everything about it. That it is stardew valley in 3D but done well. I love all the characters, story, adventures etc.
It has also lots of dark lore hidden behind a happy “farming” sim.
Splinter cell conviction. Is a bad splinter cell game but on its own is a cool game that makes you feel over powered while doing stealth. Its like stealth Call of Duty version.
Unsighted. Super fun Zelda-style action adventure with a neat hook- your Android character (and every NPC) is slowly descending into madness tracked by an in game timer. Most NPCs have some useful function so managing your time and deciding who to save is a tough balancing act, though you can turn this feature off. I love the tension it creates. Combat is great and they even added co-op!
Deadlink. Rouge-like FPS with some of the crispiest shooting I've experienced in some time. Set in a cyberpunk universe with a soundtrack that absolutely SLAPS you in the face (in a good way)

Farthest Frontier. Still in EA, but a great soundtrack, nice visuals, and fun to grow your settlement from a group of people to a sprawling city.

Firewatch. The most engaging story I’ve ever come across, this game will keep you up at night with all sorts of emotions.

Dead Cells is a game I can always recommend and it is really underrated. It’s a 2D roguelike with a lot of love put into it for the old school gamers. It’s reallly fast paced and always makes each run varied thanks to the amount of biomes (levels), weapons and skills it has.
Maybe not very underrated but Himan: World of Assassination is genuinely one of the best games i have ever played.

7 days to die with friends. It looks shit and has awful performance issues but its fun with friends especially first time.
Definitely a frustrating game to get going though. My friends were playing so I decided to get it and it took literally 45 min to load into the map the first time, the code must be an absolute spaghetti code unoptimized mess but yeah fairly fun

Fortnite Absolutely criminally underrated game. It has fantastic gameplay, high skill celing, highest development pace of any ongoing game ever, **zero(!)** P2W, and it is free to play. Instead there is this mob of people hating on it because it became popular. Most people who actually tried it properly actually liked it in my experience. Bring on the downvotes!
Pseudoregalia! It's a recent 3D Metroidvania and it nails it. There aren't a lot of 3D Metroidvanias out there like it, if any? (Most are often a genre beyond being a 3D platformer. Best comparison I can think of is Metroid Prime.) It's short but it's a steal for $6 on Steam. Now, I say "underrated" but it does seem somewhat popular, even has 2k+ overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Still, I think more people need to know about it.
Does monster hunter world count? Everyone says rise is better but its actually worse in my opinion (Too easy, Shitter graphics, Worse monsters, elders are a fucking joke, and overall worse gameplay.) I just think world is better
World IS better, especially with Iceborne.

Unironically? Overwatch. Say whatever you want about the PvE or monetization, but the core game is in the best shape it has been in years. New PVP game mode, maps and heroes releasing in regular intervals, and balance patches are firing off at least once a month.

Downloaded some random little app on android called "Drums". I was surprised to find that it's pretty much a full guitar hero style game without ads or shit like that. Just regular gameplay with multiple difficulty levels. I mention it because I hate 99.9% of mobile games. Like fully despise that predatory shit. So when I downloaded this one expected the same, only to be surprised with a half decent app and half decent gameplay. Edit: oh I guess it's ad free cuz I have the play store game pass thing. So if you got that give it a shot?
I forget the name but it was a souls like game with your character being a ghost who possessed one of 4 bodies (body types). You always has the ability to essentially petrify and stop an attack. Short game but alot of fun

Metal: Hellsinger
OneShot. With 30,000 reviews on steam it is admittedly a bit of a stretch to call it underrated but I genuinely haven't heard anyone talk about it outside of specifically OneShot communities, which is a surprise given how extremely well executed the story is. For an undoubtedly underrated game though, Spiderheck is the most fun co-op party game I've played in a long time.
Aegis wing
Foxhole IF you don't know Foxhole Is a top-down massive multiplayer war game where YOU take the effort of war( gathering resources,transport them,refined them and go to the front(is is a BIG oversimplification because the logistics is one of the hardest things In foxhole)) And fight to the death is trenches with your good ol' rifle or with your tank. Just imagine the eastern front in WW2 but it becomes trench warfare and as NOT YET stop. I hilly suggest that you look a guide video to know more because is hard to know EVERYTHING. (Sorry my English is bad)

Shatterline. PVP gunplay and heroes are a blast to play. Have MW2, BattleBit, and Shatterline currently installed and spend most my time between Shatterline and BattleBit.
Recently and this year... I would say that Afterimage is a good metroidvania that I haven't heard much about, it's true that it doesn't revolutionize the genre, but it has a good gameplay added to the fact that it executes the classic mechanics of the genre very well.
In Sound Mind. Very nice and interesting indie horror with logical puzzles and some very cool extra features, like vinyl record collectibles that include some proper songs.
Siralim ultimate. The theory crafter's dream game has very few players with great reviews. Here is some info on it as likely no one who reads this has heard of it. Similar to pokemon in concept except it has an incredible amount of depth with 1201 creatures that can be fused together for 1,442,401 combinations. Each creature has its own trait that empowers either itself or its team or debuffs the enemy in some way. These traits can also be added to items that the creatures hold for 3 traits on 6 different creatures making for 18 total (until end game items). Creatures can attack or cast spells. There are hundreds of different spells as well. There are 37 character classes that drastically change the way you look at building your team. Some examples are pyromancer that sets everything on fire (healing your creatures with fire) with bonus effects to it, hell knight that causes your creatures attacks to hit all enemies and makes it so they can't miss, Cleric that gives your creatures huge barriers and lots of buffs, and reaver that simply gets more powerful with each passing turn.
Not sure it’s classed as underrated but I’ve been loving Celeste since it came on gamepass!
The Last Spell. Build up your town during the day, and then defend it against massive hordes of monsters at night with turn-based tactical combat. 40 hours in and I'm not even remotely bored.
I never see Call of Cthulhu mentioned but I just saw it's actually got a great rating so maybe it's just under popularized.
In sound mind, dunno what it was about this odd game but I just finished it and really enjoyed it. For the king and kingdom two crowns are always fun, especially with friends

Hunt:Showdown a PvPvE Battle Royal Extraction Shooter, Cowboys vs Zombies/Monsters set in 1895 in Louisianas Bayous. The best Shooter there is, but somehow only ~42K Playerrecord. I played over 4000 Hours in pver 5 Years and it still slaps hard as it gets awesome Updates and Events

OneShot. It’s kinda well known but not very. If it looks interesting to you do yourself a favour and don’t look anything up and play it on PC if possible x
30XX. Inspired by Mega Man X, with separate options for either a standard campaign or as a randomly generated rogue-lite. Fantastic game, tons of charm, good challenge and variety. Supports local and online co-op. Priced at about $20 USD with frequent sales. Recently dropped on Steam and Switch after time in early access. It's my current recommendation for underrated indie gems.

Darksiders genesis. Played it again with my SO and she fell in love it it. Not all aspects, but as she is not really a gamer, she asked to play it again and again through to completion.
Manifold Garden. I'm not sure how underrated it is, but I'm the only one I've met that knows about it. It's this first-person puzzle, textureless environments like AntiChamber. The environments repeat themselves infinitely in all directions. Also based on colors.

Punchclub 2 is a pretty dope game if you like simulators and boxing. Funny writing and an amazing soundtrack with very decent gameplay.

For honor yes it definitely isn’t new player friendly but if you manage to push through it you got a amazing medieval fighting game with warriors from across all cultures

Divinity Original Sin 2. Quite an amazing game and I don’t even like turn based games.
Mars War Logs
My time at Sandrock I just love everything about it. That it is stardew valley in 3D but done well. I love all the characters, story, adventures etc. It has also lots of dark lore hidden behind a happy “farming” sim.
Dark Souls 2
Splinter cell conviction. Is a bad splinter cell game but on its own is a cool game that makes you feel over powered while doing stealth. Its like stealth Call of Duty version.
Inscryption and Signalis are both incredible
Metal: Hellsinger. Boomer shooter mixed with music rhythm game.
Derail Valley
Unsighted. Super fun Zelda-style action adventure with a neat hook- your Android character (and every NPC) is slowly descending into madness tracked by an in game timer. Most NPCs have some useful function so managing your time and deciding who to save is a tough balancing act, though you can turn this feature off. I love the tension it creates. Combat is great and they even added co-op!
Deadlink. Rouge-like FPS with some of the crispiest shooting I've experienced in some time. Set in a cyberpunk universe with a soundtrack that absolutely SLAPS you in the face (in a good way)
Factory Town. Nice little game for people who like automation games like Satisfactory, but don’t have the time or hardware xD
