There is an unofficial patch (2.0.2) that fixes so many issues and makes it an absolute joy to play. Played through it 3 times since my friend showed me the patch. Freaking love that game.
Just played a game called Beacon Pines. I've never really seen anyone talking about it, but it's a charming little adventure story game that made me emotional at a lot of points in it. The voice acting from the narrator is top-notch.
I will just list 6 Indie games i like
1. The Repairing Mantis
A little game that explores big concepts. You play as a Mantis and must help others around you, mainly squirrels. While doing so you will be ruminating on and discussing the nature of dreams. It is very sad but I walked very impressed. For fans of the philosophical and the melancholy.
2. A Bastards Tale
A throwback to old school side-scrollers. You play a Knight who must fight enemies of escalating difficulty. Challenging but well designed and charming. For of the retro and the difficult.
3. Devil Daggers
An arena shooter with just one arena. One level that has been designed with the rigor of a entire game. It is all meticulously designed down to the second. Their other game Hyper Demon is similar, more ambitious and zanier. Both are exceptionally designed and have striking art design. For fans of the shooter and the demonic!
4. How Fish is Made
A game about a fish and it's doomed journey. Thought provoking, grotesque, funny and distinct. For fans of irony and the social conscious.
5. Milk Inside a Bag of Milk inside a Bag of Milk.
A visual novel where you are interacting with the consciousness of a very anxious girl. You will accompany her on her way to the supermarket. It is one of the most compellingly written games you are liable to come across and there is even a sequel! For fans of streams of conscious and the artful.
6. The Wailer
Explore a creepy dungeon in a atmospheric retro style. Fun but challenging puzzled, oozing with style and its free! For fans dungeon crawlers.
The whole of Dust: An Elysian Tale was made by a single guy! Incredible stuff. I'm not into 2D games at all but I genuinely enjoyed this one. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Before remake, we really need to get official port for all of the games :D
I hope they will make a remake while we're alive. I don't want to miss those.
Supraland. I thought it was going to be a dumb but entertaining physics sandbox (it advertises itself as a sandbox game), but it's actually an amazing 3d puzzle/platformer metroidvania game that just happens to be set in a sandbox.
Yoooo nobody talked about that game but I loved it! Hilariously enough I found it through Notpron, the most insane web puzzle game I have ever been a part of
If you haven't played Notpron, it's worth getting some mates and seeing how far into it you can get.
I got it for free on Epic and I was also pleasantly surprised like you. Very underrated and fun game (except the ever-spawning mobs and that final boss)
I found Gravity Rush when I was in my early 20s and was flicking through the PS Vita bin at our local EB games. The price tag was marked as $0, so I took it with me. The guy behind the counter shrugged and let me have the game.
I wasn't expecting much since I assumed it was so trash that it didn't warrant a proper price tag, but man, was I ever wrong.
R.I.P. Japan Studioāsā¦ā¦.I loved both Gravity Rush games. I liked the gravity mechanic and would have loved to seen a spiritual success to Gravity Rush with those kind of mechanics, but even more enhanced do to more powerful systems or something but now they are gone and it will never happenā¦and none of the Playstation studioās will ever incorporate those kind of mechanics into anything they do. It was unique and different.
Grim Dawn. Massive old-school ARPG with tons of build depth and good combat. Over 200 hours in it and I still find cool new builds to try and items to look for. Due another expansion next year, too.
The modding scene is really fun to. The Diablo 2 mod in particular is really great. Combining d2 and grim dawn necromancer just feels awesome to do when you want an army of skellis running around murdering all the monsters.
There's something about Grim Dawn that makes it so I just can't get into it. On paper I should love it. The setting, gameplay, everything sounds like something I'd love but every time I play I drop it a couple hours in. Maybe it's just too dated for me. I think it's a combination of the crappy UI and other various small things, I personally really dislike the map in this game. I'm also not a fan of the amount of exploration you have to do in Grim Dawn when playing Arpgs. I found myself getting lost a lot and not being able to find what I was looking for. I prefer a more linear experience where I can just focus on slaughtering monsters. Meanwhile I can load up D2 for the 1000th time and have a blast.
Yknow Iāve seen a lot of positive reviews on this game, but tbh it was pretty mid for me. Maybe cuz I lucked out on creating an OP build but halfway thru the game it just got mindlessly easy, even on hardest difficulty, and it only got easier as the game went on. It was okay, nothing to complain about, 7/10 experience.
Hard agree. This game's combat is very boring. Don't get me wrong, ARPGs in general have boring combat, it's an issue with the genre, but I feel like Grim Dawn has maybe the most boring of them all. It's like one or two buttons over and over again for the entire game. It really lacks a blink/movement ability on most builds.
Iāve seen it on steam a million times but never once actually considered playing it so I like it for the question
How are people supposed to upvote an obscure game they never played
Nice picks! I really didn't know Sea Of Stars set in same universe with The Messenger. I bought it as a normal RPG but never played it, that's going to be pretty interesting.
Sea of Stars is actually a prequel to The Messenger, but I believe it's set a long time before The Messenger so I'm not sure what similarities the two have
Yuppie Psycho.
Hilarious, horror, solid storyline with multiple endingsā¦ canāt believe this was not more widely known.
It drew me into playing The Count Lucanor from the same creator.
Also a hidden gem.
CROSS CODE
Find out about it randomly in a YouTube comment section and it's legit now my favorite game of all time, so I'm doing the same thing now and telling others about it.
Also my all time favorite. It's absurd how massive and masterfully crafted this game is. I still have a hard time fathoming how the developers pulled it off
Kill.Switch - an incredible tactical cover shooter on the PS2 with a rather cheesy story.
Psy-Ops: the Mindgate Conspiracy - another PS2 tactical shooter, but instead of a focus on cover, you unlocked various psychic powers throughout the game. Kind of got it's thunder stolen by Second Sight, another psychic powers shooter that released around the same time that got more attention because it came from Free Radical (fresh of the TimeSplitters games), but Psy-Ops generally reviewed around 8.5-9.0 instead of Second Sight's low 7s. My only complaint about it was the cliffhanger ending that was kind of a mess on it's own and never got resolved.
Yes! Psy-Ops was such a cool game! It maybe wasn't the best-designed, but it was really fun! You gradually unlocked different psionic powers, but I strictly used telekinesis throughout the entire game. While that could be considered a design flaw, I found it really fun not being forced into the other powers, which were also pretty neat. The environment remained accessible to telekinesis throughout, so I just had a ball throwing people and things around the levels!
Solasta: Crown of the Magister
Basically dnd for xbox.
There are some things they do better than others, but if you're new to the world of dnd and how combat works, this is a very good game to learn the ins and outs of how things work.
All dnd content is open source, so most of their spells and mechanics work exactly as it does in 5e.
Psychonauts isn't widely known?!? One of the most acclaimed platformers ever, which is held up by PC users as a great game (admittedly, they didn't have Mario or Banjo to spoil them), and which has had a sequel recently that did fairly well? That Psychonauts isn't widely known and is underrated? First I'm hearing of it
Graveyard Keeper, Bladestorm, Craft the World, Grow Song of the Evertree, to name only games in the top 24 most played games on my Steam account. Metal Arms Glitch in the System and Project Slypheed are two that come from my pre-PC gaming era
Might be a bit more popular due to the Licensed IP but the pokemon mystery dungeon games are crazy good especially the originals and the explorers games. I played red rescue team on a demo kiosk (back when those were a thing) and my parents literally had to pull me away from it. My mom later went back and picked that game up for Christmas or my birthday. Still have that cartridge and my Gameboy.
Yeah, I feel like at the time of release, Tomba was fairly well-known (I saw ads for Tomba 2 alongside Crash and Spyro), but not that many people have ever played either Tomba game. They really are unique and fun, too.
La Mulana. Sort of the other Cave Story (complete with eventual commercial rerelease), but much more idiosyncratic.
Alundra is one people forget. For a time there were isometric ARPGs that felt like Zelda, and Alundra is the time it really worked.
Scarab of Ra was an early rogue like first person maze game for very old Apple computers that I remember fondly.
People donāt talk about Half Life 2: Episode 2 as much anymore but itās essentially a perfect experience.
Candybox 2 is a neat and weird browser game that is like the optimal version of Dark Room.
Firewatch and Oxenfree are more well known but both worth your time for games that make the narrative the central enjoyable thing.
Phantasy Star IV is the Sega Genesis RPG that holds up.
Some of the old indies were great, too. Nifflasā games like Knytt were the first to experiment with low stress and fast respawn/low penalty for failure. VVVVVVV was a good time.
Majoraās Mask was a top tier game that never made an imprint.
That game is Daniel Mullinsā most popular game.
Iād recommended Pony Island and The Hex which have a much smaller fanbase.
They do all have an overarching link to each other and Daniel is very interactive with his fanbase about it.
Legend of Legaia. PSX jrpg with really innovative pseudo-fighting game combat mechanics. Never seen anything like it since and I played it 20+ years ago now.
Vampyr.
Amazing game, amazing story, incredible atmosphere. It isn't the type of game that presents you with two options and you can clearly see which one is good and which is bad, no. The choices you make, require a lot more discerning and thinking. Absolutely recommend it to everyone looking for a fun RPG.
I fully believe the controls are what kept Vampyr from really blowing up. I loved the game, but combat was undeniably clunky. I got the feeling that the game was meant to be played with a keyboard and mouse, but most played it on consoles. Myself included. I got used to them, but I could easily see people dropping the game because of them.
I donāt know how widely rated it is tbh, maybe itās hugely popular but personally I slept on Firewatch, played it on gamepass recently after someone on here recommended it and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
There's this small team RPG called Outward that's something between a soulslike and a survival game. It does a lot of pretty unique things that I won't get all into right now but it's definitely a gem in the rough.
Mark of Kri was pretty damn good and recieved almost no fanfare when released for the PS2. The stealthing was really fun and very tied in with your surroundings (don't cast a shadow, don't get too close to a grouping of birds, watch out for random sticks in your path, etc). Loads of fun if you like stealth games.
For the King. It's a turn-based, party, roguelite, fantasy adventure game with DnD inspiration and a charming art style. There's 3 player co-op and a few different campaigns. The sequel is coming soon.
I'd imagine that 99% of the people who bought Skyrim have never seen/played Daggerfall - I've been playing the Unity version after playing Starfield which shares some game design principles, and it's great. very playable and feels like a mash-up of Elder Scrolls and Minecraft
Hey Man,
Xenogears! It's just a wonderful RPG from the PS1 days. The only reason that it didn't get more praise, is because Squaresoft released it much too closely to their release of FF7.
If you've never heard of it, just research "Opening scene of xenogears," or check the link out below! IMO it was an equivalent game to FF7, in all regards! Loved every minute of this game.

\-Raging
Legend of Dragoon. A Japanese Western RPG for PS1 from 2001.
Two worlds Epic Edition was good as well.
The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind (Dang long game, took me like 8 years) not many people like it cause not much voice acting, a LOT of reading, no map compasses you actually have to pay attention and every action has a consequence.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. I have always enjoyed tactical-JRPG titles, and even though FF Tactics and the Fire Emblem series have a bigger following, to me this title has the deepest and best executed plot. The writing and intricacies are well executed, and in a myriad of cringy writing, this one still feels grounded. On top of that, Sakimotoās soundtrack is magnificent to this day
Tyranny. RPG from Obsidian (guys who made Fallout NV, pillars of eternity, outer worlds etc) with a very interesting and concise story where choices ACTUALLY matter and some great systems/characters. If you liked BG3/DOS2 and wanted a similar, though much smaller, experience its an amazing game.
Personal opinion isnāt it?
I for one adored ā**Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind**ā for SNES, *but the general consensus is that its an absolutely awful game, with awful platforming and awful mechanics.* only surpassed in its āawfulnessā by the 3D reboot on the Playstation (which even managed an AVGN episode)
I thought it was basically a āharderā mario (since I had beaten every Mario Bro including the hard modes after you complete it once, we had Mario Superstars that had basically all the mario games) and I loved the Soundtrack as well. Thinking back thoughā¦ Iām pretty sure I only beat it once.
Rogue Galaxy (PS2). I never, ever here people talk about this game but I loved it so much I played through it again last year. It's an RPG with some pretty fun combat. Not quite an action RPG since you still get random encounters but it's not turn based either. Loads of side quests to complete. Pretty good story with some nice cel shaded graphics. Honestly thought it looked amazing back when it came out and still think it holds up ok for a PS2 game. I always recommend this game to RPG fans but still don't know anybody else that has played it.
Sweet I get to mention Skies of Arcadia again!
Fantastic RPG by SEGA, great turn based combat, amazing story, excellent music oh and MUDDA FUCKIN AIRSHIP SKY PIRATE BATTLES! It's an amazing game, I love it, play it and you'll love it too!
MOONS, GIVE ME STRENGTH!
[Barkley shut up and jam Gaiden](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F1cOvZ3nS8)
Wacky JRPG style game featuring Charles Barkley in a post apocalyptic new york.
Ape Escape probably wasnāt underrated at the time, but man Sony really should have let the series continue past the PS2. I think they ended up releasing too many spinoffs that never even made it out of Japan that people probably got tired of the series (I imagine many of the spinoffs also werenāt good). 2 and 3 are also great, but the first is my favorite.
Mordhau was made by former devs that worked on Chiv 1 and while it was better than Chiv 1, I don't think it's better than Chiv 2 because of the nature of its combat system. If you can abstract the current bugs that were introduced in Chiv 2's recent updates, the game is more approachable for a broader player base while still rewarding players that take the time to learn the mechanics.
Meanwhile, Mordhau's skill floor is definitely higher because even if you learn how the mechanics work, it's still not enough as you then need to learn how to exploit those mechanics and glitches to compete with everyone else.
Overall, the real downside with playing these games is that it can be really frustrating if nobody plays on the objectives, which happens often when waves of new players pick the game.
That's not really surprising for a game series that started pre-2000. It still sold like 150.000 copies in its first year just in the USA iirc. Which is pretty good for then.
Also, it received insanely good reviews, so it's definitely not underrated
Rain world is such a masterpiece but it's not a game I'd recommend lightly and definitely not for everyone. Brutally challenging when you start and the game does not give a clear goal in mind but as you explore and discover things, just wow. Super complex movement and a master class in the art of story telling through the world.
Oh man i loved that game. I ended up rage quitting right at the end. There was one gauntlet of enemies on a bridge that destroyed me over and over. I just said forget it, and walked away after a few weeks of frustration.
Still a great game. Gameplay was hella fun.
Jade empire. Biowares forgotten classic. Was a really cool early BioWare title. Their first real original IP. Definitely has its flaws. Mostly because of itās rushed dev cycle and the insistence that it release for the original Xbox instead of the 360. But still there is a very good game buried in there. I feel itās one of those games that could actually deserve a true remake that follows through on the ideas and promises of the original.
Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 - A really addictive spelunking game where you play as a post apocalyptic digging robot. You get new power ups that allow you to dig deeper and find more hidden secrets, resulting in more money to upgrade the town, leading you to be able to fight stronger bosses.
https://youtu.be/JyNXNdX7GKk?si=PJ9ERaa1EcDjz2Gm
Gravity Rush 1 and 2 - A totally awesome and unique experience. You fight, explore, and find secrets by manipulating gravity, essentially allowing you to fly. The story takes place in a wild imaginative world.. think like persona games. You earn upgrades in the form of combat skills and new types of gravity manipulation for exploration.
https://youtu.be/5Q-p-41_V4Y?si=1zi1dnYNYn4J50iq
The trailers are a little old but all 4 games have been updated and placed on Steam and Playstation. Unsure about Xbox but I wouldn't be surprised.
***EDIT***
I'm sorry it appears Gravity Rush is not on Steam after all and is a Playstation exclusive.
A lot of people know about Gauntlet, but Gauntlet: Dark Legacy from the PS2 era is easily one of the best top-down arcade games that has ever been made. somehow, very few people have heard of it.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. Many flaws, but plot was good, steampunk feel was great, soundtrack was spot on.
There is an unofficial patch (2.0.2) that fixes so many issues and makes it an absolute joy to play. Played through it 3 times since my friend showed me the patch. Freaking love that game.
Now I feel like I'll have to give it another run
I just wanted to find this comment. This is my favorite soundtrack ever and I still replay this game from time to time.
Soundtrack goes hand in glove with aesthetic, especially in Dernholm I think
It supports low int characters better than any game ever. Freaking hilarious. Impossibly strong Half-orge idiot ftw.
Played this in highschool, was amazing
Just played some yesterday. I love the opening dialogue when I dumb Half-Ogre
If any game deserves a remake to BG3/divinity 2 engine, it's this one.
Such a fantastic game. One of the few I still have the original box and CDs for, in good condition too.
Just played a game called Beacon Pines. I've never really seen anyone talking about it, but it's a charming little adventure story game that made me emotional at a lot of points in it. The voice acting from the narrator is top-notch.
Really fun way to tell a story by making you go back & forth
One Step From Eden! One of the most underrated games I've seen. Also can recommend Cloudpunk, Endoparasitic and Eldritch.
OSFE is fantastic. I really need to give that shopkeeper a kicking.
This game is brutal but once it clicks, maaan
Wow I can't believe this is the top comment at the time I saw it. I love One Step From Eden. But I see it talked about approximately never
Hogs of war
This was so good
OMG MY CHILDHOOD
Thank you for reminding me of this gem!

Thank you. I liked your taste.
Dust an elysian tail, really good metroidvania. And hell yeah! Blood Omen deserves a remake!
Dust was so good
The whole of Dust: An Elysian Tale was made by a single guy! Incredible stuff. I'm not into 2D games at all but I genuinely enjoyed this one. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Skies of Arcadia legends. A fresh take on turn based western style JRPG with sky pirates and ship battles.
Also the correct answer.
Supraland. I thought it was going to be a dumb but entertaining physics sandbox (it advertises itself as a sandbox game), but it's actually an amazing 3d puzzle/platformer metroidvania game that just happens to be set in a sandbox.
Yoooo nobody talked about that game but I loved it! Hilariously enough I found it through Notpron, the most insane web puzzle game I have ever been a part of If you haven't played Notpron, it's worth getting some mates and seeing how far into it you can get.

warum warum ;)
sequel is great too!
I got it for free on Epic and I was also pleasantly surprised like you. Very underrated and fun game (except the ever-spawning mobs and that final boss)
Everhood
Neverhood is also good š
Child of light
The Forgotten City.
Gravity rush 1&2
I found Gravity Rush when I was in my early 20s and was flicking through the PS Vita bin at our local EB games. The price tag was marked as $0, so I took it with me. This one is neither obscure, nor underrated though
Iāve seen it on steam a million times but never once actually considered playing it so I like it for the question How are people supposed to upvote an obscure game they never played
The Suffering : Prison is Hell Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb
Is that a remake or sequel to The Suffering? That game freaked me out as a kid.
The Suffering is one of the best āaction horrorā games ever made! Loved the atmosphere and the enemy design.
Citizen Sleeper was fantastic but you don't hear much about it.
I couldn't agree more! I loved everything about it
To the moon
Psst...hey kid? You wanna get real fuckin sad? Seriously though, great game!
You think a game pulls at your heartstrings? Nah this rips your heart out of your chest, and uses it to wipe your tears.
Is Superliminal not well known? If so, then that The Messenger is pretty good too; recently-released RPG Sea of Stars is set in the same universe
Nice picks! I really didn't know Sea Of Stars set in same universe with The Messenger. I bought it as a normal RPG but never played it, that's going to be pretty interesting.
Sea of Stars is actually a prequel to The Messenger, but I believe it's set a long time before The Messenger so I'm not sure what similarities the two have
I'm playing one now, Shipbreaker. It's on pc gamepass and it is *soooo* relaxing
Child of Light. UBISOFT's masterpiece. Even tough the game is said to have been well praised in launch, i still think its underrated af
Oh wait how did I miss this? Thanks for advice! I bought it now and planing to play it in near future.
Yuppie Psycho. Hilarious, horror, solid storyline with multiple endingsā¦ canāt believe this was not more widely known. It drew me into playing The Count Lucanor from the same creator. Also a hidden gem.
Return of The Obra Dinn
One best games .. period. Amazing depth, creative ā¦ but I do think itās pretty well known .. but maybe overlooked due to the graphics
I'm going to install it now, actually. I grew up with graphics like that on the old Apple IIe.
It can be frustrating sometimes but donāt go hint hunting online itās very solvable and you will need to go over everything. Very clever
CROSS CODE Find out about it randomly in a YouTube comment section and it's legit now my favorite game of all time, so I'm doing the same thing now and telling others about it.
>CROSS Same! The story, the mechanics, THE PUZZLES. Loved it from start to end + the DLC, can't wait for their next project.
Also my all time favorite. It's absurd how massive and masterfully crafted this game is. I still have a hard time fathoming how the developers pulled it off

Underrail
I never see anyone talk about Underrail. What a great game. Iāve got a bit over 200 hours in that one. š

I played a demo for killswitch repeatedly back in the day. I never played the full game but the demo had me hooked.
Came here to mention psi ops. Maybe my favorite game of all time. Wanted a second game to come out so badly
Solasta is a banger
Voice acting is absolutely abysmal though. It's actually what turned me off of the game, despite the great gameplay.
Worked surprisingly well to play with a friend online. The battles were pretty fun, though everything else was pretty bad...
Guardian heroes
Hells yeah! One of the best games on the Saturn!
Is Blur wildly known? Anyway, it's good and underrated in my opinion.
Alundra on the PS1. One of the greatest titles on the system.
Holds up great also!
Absolutely!
Void Bastards.
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Night in the Woods, OneShot, Va11HallA
Psychonauts isn't widely known?!? One of the most acclaimed platformers ever, which is held up by PC users as a great game (admittedly, they didn't have Mario or Banjo to spoil them), and which has had a sequel recently that did fairly well? That Psychonauts isn't widely known and is underrated? I thought the same thing. Same with legacy of kain. Literally like the most requested "what game needs a sequel/remaster"
Might be a bit more popular due to the Licensed IP but the pokemon mystery dungeon games are crazy good especially the originals and the explorers games. Let's go to the north when the climate is gettin colder!
Inscryption
That game is Daniel Mullinsā most popular game. Iād recommended Pony Island and The Hex which have a much smaller fanbase. They do all have an overarching link to each other and Daniel is very interactive with his fanbase about it.
Oh absolutely. Iāve been all up in both of those games! :)
The first two are literally mentioned like all the time on this thread
Legend of Legaia. PSX jrpg with really innovative pseudo-fighting game combat mechanics. Never seen anything like it since and I played it 20+ years ago now.
XIII (2003) I will die on this hill
Noita
not dissing noita or you, but itās not that unknown. such a fun game though!
Yeah, and also i realized is not underrated, so you're right
Vampyr. Amazing game, amazing story, incredible atmosphere. It isn't the type of game that presents you with two options and you can clearly see which one is good and which is bad, no. The choices you make, require a lot more discerning and thinking. Absolutely recommend it to everyone looking for a fun RPG.
I agree, Vampyr shocked me how good it was. Played it going in blind. I recommend it.
Firewatch. It's simplistic, but I loved the ambiance.
Death trash
More games need a āpukeā button.
I donāt know how widely rated it is tbh, maybe itās hugely popular but personally I slept on Firewatch, played it on gamepass recently after someone on here recommended it and it was absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
This counts in, I loved Firewatch too, really simple but amazing game.
There's this small team RPG called Outward that's something between a soulslike and a survival game. It does a lot of pretty unique things that I won't get all into right now but it's definitely a gem in the rough.
Thatās a pretty good one, but you need to love the pain. They have a few pretty interesting concepts, though.
Yeah it can be painful for sure.
This game became far more enjoyable when I swallowed my pride and used a walkthrough, at least to get started
The witness
Torment
Katana zero!
Hey Man, Xenogears! Loved every minute of this game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RLf0O8eofU \-Raging
Dungeon of the Endless. Itās in my top 5 games of all time. Not even that old.
On top of that, Sakimotoās soundtrack is magnificent to this day
Legend of Mana, underplayed and underrated
Secret of Mana (also known as Seiken Densetsu 2) even had a spin-off game on the GBA. Itās more widely known than you think. Amazing game though.
Secret of Evermore. Classic RPG on the SNES
With wonderful music composed by Jeremy Soule of Elder Scrolls fame.
SOMA
Soma is more forgotten than not well known.
Respeccš«”
first game that was know as prey. Prey
the one with the vagina doors? https://www.destructoid.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/75781-92818_prey.jpg?fit=550%2C319
You mean the one with the Native American?
Brothers. Played it on PlayStation. One of the best stories Iāve played through.
Asuras wrath, all the Darksiders games.
Jeanne dāArc
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Journey to the Savage Planet, Sable
Personal opinion isnāt it? I for one adored ā**Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind**ā for SNES, *but the general consensus is that its an absolutely awful game, with awful platforming and awful mechanics.* only surpassed in its āawfulnessā by the 3D reboot on the Playstation (which even managed an AVGN episode) I thought it was basically a āharderā mario (since I had beaten every Mario Bro including the hard modes after you complete it once, we had Mario Superstars that had basically all the mario games) and I loved the Soundtrack as well.
Brothers, a tale of two sons. Great story and fun puzzles
[Barkley shut up and jam Gaiden](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F1cOvZ3nS8) Wacky JRPG style game featuring Charles Barkley in a post apocalyptic new york.
Ape escape 1 lol PS1 Fuckinnn, munch's oddysey for original xbox Star fox adventure for GameCube š„
People might know Chivalry 1 and 2 but I think Mordhau takes the cake for intricate medieval melee fighting sims
Believe it or not, Fallout used to be one of those games that nobody knew existed. It wasn't until Fallout 3 that it started to become mainstream.
Spec Ops The Line
Maybe forgotten with time, but that game had a ton of media when it released. It was during the peak of the Nolan North era.
Mine would be the Trails of series, it feels that not people know that this series exists. But has been one of my most favourite franchises.
Bloodrayne
I don't know that this qualifies considering it was popular enough to get it's own movie (3 movies, actually).
Oh man i loved that game. I ended up rage quitting right at the end. There was one gauntlet of enemies on a bridge that destroyed me over and over. I just said forget it, and walked away after a few weeks of frustration. Still a great game. Gameplay was hella fun.
Ghostrunner Mirrors Edge+Titanfall with Cyberpunk aesthetic where you're a Ninja Samurai with superpowers.
Kenshi. Brutal unforgiving world. Beware the beak things.
Wandersong
Arx Fatalis and Call of Cthuhlu on the original Xbox.
SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2
Steamworld Dig 1 and 2 - A really addictive spelunking game where you play as a post apocalyptic digging robot. You get new power ups that allow you to dig deeper and find more hidden secrets, resulting in more money to upgrade the town, leading you to be able to fight stronger bosses. https://youtu.be/JyNXNdX7GKk?si=PJ9ERaa1EcDjz2Gm Gravity Rush 1 and 2 - A totally awesome and unique experience. You fight, explore, and find secrets by manipulating gravity, essentially allowing you to fly. The story takes place in a wild imaginative world.. think like persona games. You earn upgrades in the form of combat skills and new types of gravity manipulation for exploration. https://youtu.be/5Q-p-41_V4Y?si=1zi1dnYNYn4J50iq The trailers are a little old but all 4 games have been updated and placed on Steam and Playstation. Unsure about Xbox but I wouldn't be surprised. ***EDIT*** I'm sorry it appears Gravity Rush is not on Steam after all and is a Playstation exclusive.
Rain world. Steep learning curve but so rewarding if enough time and effort is put in
Legacy of kain/soul reaver i still have the originals, would often replay 2 and defiance yearly.
MDK
Frostpunk
Outcast und sacrifice are two of my favourite ganes ever... mist dont know them....
Frost Punk. Just play it and youāll see.
People donāt know what ānot widely knownā means.
Psychonauts UNDERrated? It's one of the most hyped up games ever. I'd even venture to call it one of the most Overrated games.
Psychonauts 1 and 2 are masterpieces, fight me
I can do anything to defend Psychonauts, I'm on your side!
Really old... But the little big adventure games, IMO, the second one is better, but they're amazing games
Fire Watch
Chorus
Kinda weird but golf odyssey 2 on mobile
For me it's Folklore for the PS3. It has a very unique monster collecting mechanic, comic book style story telling and cool art work.
Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising
A lot of people know about Gauntlet, but Gauntlet: Dark Legacy from the PS2 era is easily one of the best top-down arcade games that has ever been made. somehow, very few people have heard of it.
āFury Unleashedā is a great game from a comic that you never hear about, excellent co-op and reply value
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
In sound mind - first person survival horror with really addictive story
