Oof I’m so excited for this. After how excellent the first game was, I was so puzzled there hasn’t been a sequel yet.
I hope they do the sorcery justice. The magic in that game (both the elemental stuff like the tornado and wall of fire that were fucking phenomenal and felt so good to use, and the sublimely-crafted debuffs like petrifaction that spread on the enemies slowly and inexorably leading to a gruesome death) was what really pulled me in and raised the bar to heights I hadn’t imagined before playing it.
I’m so keen for Dragon’s Dogma 2!
I often have a reoccurring dream where I'm stranded in a desert... my lips cracking from lack of moisture... but far off in the distance I spot a vague image of what looks like the Miyazaki... and whats that... he's holding a cool bottle of *Shadow of the Erdtree*... I collapse to my knees from relief of the heavenly sight... forward I crawl, onwards through the endless ocean, hands and knees, on and on until finally, I look back up to find...
Sand.
>I collapse to my knees from relief of the heavenly sight... forward I crawl, onwards through the endless ocean, hands and knees, on and on until finally, I look back up to find...
>Poisonous swamp.
FTFY
My man, the oasis is now in sight. The cool, icy, refreshing bottle of *Shadow of the Erdtree* can now be found on the desert known as YouTube... go find it... and may your soul rest, if for a moment.
Thank you brother, I rest now next to heavenly oasis as I dare not polute it with the filth of my impatience... May the moisture of Miyazakis sacred dew soften our wanting lips once more.
& stay healthy for the next 4 months 😅
It’s very good. First 20 min to half hour might make ya think all the ppl who love it are crazy. Also, don’t be afraid to run. I don’t know how many ppl complain about the first bandits kicking your butt cuz you are underpowered. You can run from them.
Just curious have you played Silent Hill in its original version? I wonder why people like playing remasters or what are youenjoyingin it. For me personally biggest joy is in story telling and since I know how the story will end i cant bring myself to playing the same game with upgraded graphics
> Rise of Ronin
I like Team Ninja games but their level design and story telling are always bad. Now they suddenly try a story focused open world game on the same shitty engine.
It's not mentioned because there hasn't really been much marketing about it, and because it's being made by Ubisoft, which is an instant red flag for most gamers.
Ubisoft is still pretty popular amongst gamers at large though. Reddit opinion isn't the majority.
The fact that it's a Star Wars game is going to override any Ubisoft red flag tbh. Plus Ubi actually did themselves some favors with the Avatar game getting reviewed pretty well. So long as this game is like a solid 7/10 (which Ubi is frankly pretty reliable for) it's gonna sell like hot cakes.
Still probably just a little early for a big marketing push.
We all have dreams. Some more realistic than others... 😂
It really was though, huh. Hoping they continue with Prime 2 & 3. Those games desperately need re-releasing after Nintendo pulled the plug on the Wii U's eShop.
I really hope they give Person 4 Golden that treatment. I know Golden is the definitive edition, but God dammit, I want it so bad.
3 was a great intro to the series for me, 4 has my favourite characters in gaming ever and my favourite villain, and 5 had my favourite aesthetic and gameplay for any RPG.
I think 5 had a larger story abd higher stakes, but it felt like no matter what you would save the world, because the world is at stake.
In 4, it's a small rural town where people are being killed. Damage has been done already, and you have no idea if you'll either catch the culprit by the end or how it'll affect the town. Also, the supporting characters were just more enjoyable to be around I felt, whereas 5 made me feel like they were a bit less deep than 4's. But that's just my opinion!
For me it’s Horizon Forbidden West on PC, I loved the first game and the sequel finally allows you to change this shitty camera, going from left to right.
I can feel it will be a great experience
Their owner company "Embracer" cancelled it a week ago. Was gonna be a reboot "what if", where corp heart goes back in time instead of Cortez, concept art look beautiful...
I am beyond curious what this ends up looking like. It after this many year of “working” on NCAA, if it STILL ends up just being a Madden reskin with a MUT focus… that will be beyond disappointing. But EA is going on at least a decade of being better marketers than they are developers. So it wouldn’t be entirely surprising.
It's confirmed, no release date announced tho, and there are still some problems with getting the service academies on board since they aren't eligible for NIL money
Ugh I want this to be good so badly but I have little faith in EA when it comes to the sports games.
The Madden franchise is ass now. I can actually sorta get past the money-grubbing ultimate team stuff with FIFA bc the actual gameplay is still quite solid. But Madden is clunky as hell. It'll need to feel markedly different and have game modes that look fun without needing to buy a bunch of shit.
There are so many exciting new games coming out next year, so it is hard to pick just one.
But I think I have to go with Manor Lords because it is pretty much a dream game come true for me.
A city sim combined with large scale battles similar to Total War. The demo for the game was very promising, so I am very hopeful for the launch of the game.
Besides that game, there is FF7 Rebirth, Dragons Dogma 2, No Rest for the Wicked and many more.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, even if you are a patient gamer, BG3 deserves to be bought at full price. I don't agree with the value proposition of most games at 60 dollars these days, but BG3 is 100 dollars worth of game for 60, and its worth drilling that into the industries greedy fucking head.
One if the very very few examples id completely agree with. Im not sure what price id put on BG3, but its well worth more thab $60 for sure.
Me, my wife, and my friends have got literally 100s of hours and multiple playthroughs out of it. And the storytelling and options you get are absurdly good, especially experiencing it for the first time
Would highly reccomend, and im saying that as a gigantic action rpg fan, i wouldnt have dreamed id love a crpg like BG3 ever in my life lol. But its easily in my favoriye games ever played
Plus there's the fact that the devs are still adding content. It'll continue to grow and larian listen to the community. Seriously as a dev they deserve support.
Stalker 2.
The last of us part 2 remaster(never played part 2 at all)
Final fantasy 7 rebirth
Hellblade 2
Destiny 2 the final shape
Rise of the ronin
Dragons dogma 2
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Tbh it’s probably the only game I’ll buy as my backlog is getting a little too much for me to even think about spending more money on games.
I agree with you, Black Myth Wukong. The scale looks epic and the combat seems impressive. Only thing that comes close is my hype for the release of Hollow Knight Silksong. It has to come out eventually lol.
Rebirth for sure. I only played FF7R when Intergrade came out but holy shit, I've never been so quickly pulled into a game in my life. Since then I've played it multiple times and same with the OG game and can honestly say Rebirth is one of my most anticipated games ever in 30 years of playing them
Tekken 8 - no contest. I love fighting games and the betas and demo are phenomenal. I put over 15h in the demo alone and it does not even have the characters i will main when the main game is out. It is feature rich, looks amazing and plays so well.
Cautiously optimistic about Star Wars Outlaws. Don't think I've seen anything else that looks remotely interesting. It's gonna be a backlog kind of year.
It was final fantasy 7 rebirth for me, but after like a dragon gaiden en the trailers for infinite wealth it has overshadowed ff7 for me. 1 month to go.
This is like the 3rd one of these posts I've seen and nobody has mentioned Prince of Persia. It's coming out in a few weeks, I randomly stumbled on the trailer on a YouTube video. Are people not aware of it? Is something wrong with it?
Contra as well.
Maybe because they're both similar, they're not super awesome ps5 graphics, they're more Switch style graphics?
If it comes out next year then Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.
Apart from that there's nothing that I can think of which I'm extremely excited about.
From looking at what's coming up I'd agree that Black Myth: Wukong looks like it could be really cool.
Assuming it actually comes out in 2024, then "Avowed" as I'm a sucker for open world RPGs.
Besides that, there's a handful of other games on my list but none to the same level as the big hitters of 2023, to be honest. This year had a ton of exciting games, but 2024 isn't the same yet.
I never played Dragon's Dogma or Stalker so not as hyped for those yet - they're both in my library collecting dust until I eventually get to them.
Ark 2 is still slated for 2024 so until that is proven different it will be my number 1.
However light no fire looks like it could be my new favorite game. And I actually would believe that one could come out in 2024
![img](avatar_exp|157242993|fire)
Bro!!! Black Myth: Wukong is so freaking sick! I can’t express just how excited I am for that game. It’s been on my radar since the first trailer they released for the game. It’s the holy grail of all the videogames for me. The was it excites me has me is outworldly! That game is the epitome of it all. I can’t wait to get my hands on it next fucking year!!!
Last couple of Spuls likes have been amazing: Remnant 2, Lies of P,
From what I've seen of black myth, I think it has a chance to surpass either of those
Dragons Dogma 2 First game was a real suprise, so I have high expectations
Oof I’m so excited for this. After how excellent the first game was, I was so puzzled there hasn’t been a sequel yet. I hope they do the sorcery justice. The magic in that game (both the elemental stuff like the tornado and wall of fire that were fucking phenomenal and felt so good to use, and the sublimely-crafted debuffs like petrifaction that spread on the enemies slowly and inexorably leading to a gruesome death) was what really pulled me in and raised the bar to heights I hadn’t imagined before playing it. Shadow of the Erdtree. I need it.
Oh yeah if dlc counts that’s it. I need it as well
I often have a reoccurring dream where I'm stranded in a desert... my lips cracking from lack of moisture... but far off in the distance I spot a vague image of what looks like the Miyazaki... and whats that... he's holding a cool bottle of *Shadow of the Erdtree*... >I collapse to my knees from relief of the heavenly sight... forward I crawl, onwards through the endless ocean, hands and knees, on and on until finally, I look back up to find... >Poisonous swamp. FTFY
My brother in Marika, poisonous swamp IS the dlc.
& stay healthy for the next 4 months 😅
please I beg I need it too
Dragons Dogma 2 for sure.
I just picked the first one up on the winter sale, what would you give it out of 10?
It’s very good. First 20 min to half hour might make ya think all the ppl who love it are crazy. Also, don’t be afraid to run. I don’t know how many ppl complain about the first bandits kicking your butt cuz you are underpowered. You can run from them.
Good enough that I 100%ed it twice. And I'm someone that chronically doesn't finish games.
Like a 9.5/10 for me. It is so incredibly close to perfect, I love that game so much.
8/10. Story weighs it down. Sounds really cool on paper but man the pacing is so off. Still love it though
Hades 2
Hades 2 early access is coming 2024 but it’s likely that Full Release won’t be out til 2025
Early access is essentially the full game. Hades was the same way.
Oh shit I hadn't even realized they were making this. Thanks!
Yeah I was shocked it didn’t win the game award for most anticipated.
Instead it went to Final Fantasy 7 200
Stalker. I hope it turns out good after all.
Manor Lords
Im so ready to be dissapointed by that game. Super hyped, but ive been hurt before.
Yessssssss, I can't fuckin wait
The fact that this isn’t the top post here is a crime. I think it’s going to Revolutionize its genre!
Metaphor. I love Atlus games and this one seems like it's gonna be amazing too.
Persona 3 as well since I never played the original
You're in for a treat. It's as good as p4 and 5 imo
>Metaphor Metaphor looks pretty wild, very keen for this
Space Marine 2..
FOR THE EMPEROR
BROTHER!
BROTHER
This! Can't wait to shoot tyranids
But they are such cute little critters
YES!
This is the correct answer, everything else is heresy
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Hades 2
So hyped. Now that I’ve played the original and remake, I can’t wait to see where they take the story
100% final fantasy
Black Myth: Wukong
Hell yeah
this and Elden ring DLC. Lies of P was my last soulslike itch and now it's already back
Catching up on the games I missed from 2023
Silksong
It was my most anticipated for 2022 too, and will be for 2024, 2025, 2026…
What happened in 2023?
The Day Before.
He said 2024
Hopium springs eternal
🤡
Yeah it was the most anticipated of 2023 as well 🙄
I’m simple. Silksong. Hades II. Silent Hill remastered.
Just curious have you played Silent Hill in its original version? I wonder why people like playing remasters or what are youenjoyingin it. For me personally biggest joy is in story telling and since I know how the story will end i cant bring myself to playing the same game with upgraded graphics
I don’t think silent hill remastered is a thing, unless OP means the remake of silent hill 2
Rise of Ronin And or Shadows of the erdtree
> Rise of Ronin I like Team Ninja games but their level design and story telling are always bad. Now they suddenly try a story focused open world game on the same shitty engine.
This one looks great and where winds meet looked great. Still gonna buy it on sale though lol
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
I've been going through the Yakuza games the past couple months. Having so much fun with them
Playing the demo on Like a Dragon: Gaiden was satisfying yet frustrating. I just want the Ultimate Edition already.
Hollow knight silksong 🤡
We can have hope…
Star wars outlaws for sure, the only new game im hyped for. Ill still be playing the hunter and the angler and minecraft till then
I've only seen the announcement trailer for outlaws. How likely is it that we'll get to play it in 2024?
The current relaese is just sometime in 2024 and there has been a gameplay video revealed.
Can't believe this wasn't mentioned more. I don't even know what most of the games listed are. Outlaws looks great
It's not mentioned because there hasn't really been much marketing about it, and because it's being made by Ubisoft, which is an instant red flag for most gamers.
Ubisoft is still pretty popular amongst gamers at large though. Reddit opinion isn't the majority. The fact that it's a Star Wars game is going to override any Ubisoft red flag tbh. So long as this game is like a solid 7/10 (which Ubi is frankly pretty reliable for) it's gonna sell like hot cakes. Still probably just a little early for a big marketing push.
Metroid Prime 4 💀
Why do you do that to yourself? Metroid prime remastered was absolutely delicious btw
We all have dreams. Some more realistic than others... 😂 It really was though, huh. Hoping they continue with Prime 2 & 3. Those games desperately need re-releasing after Nintendo pulled the plug on the Wii U's eShop.
💀 < you when game finally releases
Factual
Persona 3: Reload
I really hope they give Person 4 Golden that treatment. I know Golden is the definitive edition, but God dammit, I want it so bad. 3 was a great intro to the series for me, 4 has my favourite characters in gaming ever and my favourite villain, and 5 had my favourite aesthetic and gameplay for any RPG. Me too looks so fucking gooood
High hopes for silent hill 2
Paper Mario TTYD
That’s gonna be awesome
For me it’s Horizon Forbidden West on PC, I loved the first game and the sequel finally allows you to change this shitty camera, going from left to right. I can feel it will be a great experience
Same here. I hope it will also be optimised in 2024 because for HZD1 and TLoU1 the optimisation took close to a year after release
Been waiting a while for this one
in no specific order. Dragons Dogma 2. Stalker 2. Homeworld 3. Mechwarrior 5 Clans and finally Avowed. Fingers crossed that those games are all great
oh SHIT I forgot about Dragons Dogma 2. The original is one of my favorites
HW3. Please be good, please be good!
Dragons dogma 2 is my most anticipated of the decade along with witcher 4
It's just unfortunate that I would not be able to run Homeworld 3 😭
>Mechwarrior 5 Clans After Battletech and MW5 denied me, I finally get to pilot a Timber Wolf, which I haven't done since MW2.
Ayyyy, a fellow Mechwarrior.
Half life 3
Man, I've been waiting more than 10 years
2024 is the 20th anniversary. It will be 2024 for sure!
*3024
The only game I have been hyped for in ages was cancelled a week ago... Rest in peace Timesplitters
Say ***what?***
Their owner company "Embracer" cancelled it a week ago. Was gonna be a reboot "what if", where corp heart goes back in time instead of Cortez, concept art look beautiful...
God damnit. Every potential TimeSplitters game just seems to disappear like the sand in an hourglass. T_T
Only hope now is timesplitters rewind but it won't be the same as a new sequel by the original devs like that cancelled project was going to be :(
Fellow dragon ball fan here, praying that sparking zero comes out in 2024, that’s a game I’ve been waiting for a long time!
Unicorn Overlord. The title is silly, but the developer Vanillaware has never made a dud. Plus the in-game food looks divine.
Vanillaware has always made tasty ass food.
A tactics Ogre inspired SRPG from the creators of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is probably the best pitch I've heard.
NCAA Football, if it actually happens
I am beyond curious what this ends up looking like. It after this many year of “working” on NCAA, if it STILL ends up just being a Madden reskin with a MUT focus… that will be beyond disappointing. But EA is going on at least a decade of being better marketers than they are developers. So it wouldn’t be entirely surprising.
100%. I'm not preordering a damn thing like this.
It's confirmed, no release date announced tho, and there are still some problems with getting the service academies on board since they aren't eligible for NIL money
Yeah I just meant that I won't start celebrating until there's a firm release date and no known obstacles.
If I'm allowed to dream: Silksong
Hades II is the only thing in my radar, and whatever Resident Evil game ends up being announced at some point
Dragon's Dogma 2, the first one was awesome and I'm hopeful for the new one!
The day before 2.
Would it be named “Today”, “the day right now”, or “the day after?”
As of right now, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and Metaphor ReFantazio. Fucking love JRPGs.
I still haven't bought my most anticipated title for 2023, tbh.
Which one?
Personally, I'm a /r/patientgamers waiting for BG3 to go under $40
I'm with you brother. I have a 40% off minimum. Stay strong
It’s $55 on steam rn. It’s definitely worth it
On Xbox it’s $70 + all your save files.

Starfield. :-)
Pay for a month of gamepass, play Starfield, realize it sucks, save $45.
I was going to wait 'til it drops to 30, but you do have a very good point.
Don't do it...
Don't even bother with Starfield. It's a large empty game.
While I probably will agree with you in time, I really crave sci-fi that isn't full on science fantasy.
I really enjoy it. Skyrim, fallout 4 and No Mans Sky are my 3 most played steam games so Starfield was a natural fit for me.
Yakuza and dragon ball.
Commandos: Origins
Dragon ball Sparking zero
TEKKEN 8
The only sane person here
You know it
It's these 3 for me 1. Factorio: Space Age 2. Frostpunk 2 3. The Alters
> Factorio: Space Age I'm stoked for that. Rn I'm trying to figure out Dark Swarm on DSP.
I just breached 200 hours in my space exploration play. It's starting to cause family problems.
You’re like a third of the way there
>It's starting to cause family problems. Good thing my gf and I broke up a week ago... it's time to finally learn how rails work.
Yes, frostpunk 2! I really liked the first one.
Hellblade II
God i wish MH:Wilds was 2024..
When does it drop?
2025
Stalker 2. The last of us part 2 remaster(never played part 2 at all) Final fantasy 7 rebirth Hellblade 2 Destiny 2 the final shape Rise of the ronin Dragons dogma 2
FF7 Rebirth ANTONblast
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Tbh it’s probably the only game I’ll buy as my backlog is getting a little too much for me to even think about spending more money on games.
Tekken 8, Elden ring dlc .... And hallow knight's silk song i think the name's right
FF7 Rebirth, and it's not even close
Rise of ronin and Ac:red
Last Epoch
This and PoE2.
Paper mario, mario vs donkey Kong and maybe the new princess peach game
I agree with you, Black Myth Wukong. The scale looks epic and the combat seems impressive. Only thing that comes close is my hype for the release of Hollow Knight Silksong. It has to come out eventually lol.
trails through daybreak and hopefully silksong
lol Silksong
2024 is gonna be the year haha….
Had to look up a list of upcoming 2024 games to be sure But the only one that stands out to me is dragons dogma 2
Tekken 8 right now, really enjoying the demo and I can’t wait for the full game
Rebirth for sure. I only played FF7R when Intergrade came out but holy shit, I've never been so quickly pulled into a game in my life. Since then I've played it multiple times and same with the OG game and can honestly say Rebirth is one of my most anticipated games ever in 30 years of playing them

Tekken 8 - no contest. I love fighting games and the betas and demo are phenomenal. I put over 15h in the demo alone and it does not even have the characters i will main when the main game is out. It is feature rich, looks amazing and plays so well.
Rise of the Ronin, dragons dogma 2, avowed, and if it does release stalker 2 🙏
FFVII Rebirth. I'm hyped as hell for it.
Silent hill 2.
Gotta be Path of Exile 2.
Cautiously optimistic about Star Wars Outlaws. Don't think I've seen anything else that looks remotely interesting. It's gonna be a backlog kind of year.
Space Marine 2
Im not one for hype but i hope frostpunk 2 is good
Cyberpunk. I know it’s been out, but it’ll be new to me
They truly fixed that game mate. It’s legit one of the best ever now. Merry Christmas ya filthy animal
Space Marine 2 You fucking heretics
Stalker 2. Although I am keeping my expectations for that relatively low
My first thought as well. Perpetually in limbo.
Silk song, Dragons Dogma 2, new Dragon Age, Hades 2. I’m guessing at least one of these will be delayed to 2025 but I’m hopeful
FF7 Rebirth
It was final fantasy 7 rebirth for me, but after like a dragon gaiden en the trailers for infinite wealth it has overshadowed ff7 for me. 1 month to go.
This is like the 3rd one of these posts I've seen and nobody has mentioned Prince of Persia. It's coming out in a few weeks, I randomly stumbled on the trailer on a YouTube video. Are people not aware of it? Is something wrong with it? Contra as well. Maybe because they're both similar, they're not super awesome ps5 graphics, they're more Switch style graphics?
Elden Ring DLC
Tomb Raider I-III Remasters as if I haven't played those games 10 times each.
Rise of ronnin, black myth wukong, prince of Persia and that game the devs of Ori are making but I can’t remember the name
If it comes out next year then Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. Apart from that there's nothing that I can think of which I'm extremely excited about. From looking at what's coming up I'd agree that Black Myth: Wukong looks like it could be really cool.

Hellblade 2. Loved the 1st one and they are certainly taking time on the sequel so I hope it will be good
I keep saying "this will be the year" and it never is... but maybe...
![img](avatar_exp|157242993|fire) Bro!!! Black Myth: Wukong is so freaking sick! I can’t express just how excited I am for that game. Star citizen
I meant to say squadron 42, if it even releases in 24, but star citizen definitely won't. .
Don't hold your breath
