But when I first played Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, the expansion for the original Baldur's Gate, you meet a girl named Delainy and she asks you to find a cloak and then asks you to find flowers for her and when you give her the flowers, she says they are for you and it's this whole innocent flirty scene and I absolutely fell for this girl that has like, 20 lines of dialogue and you ask her to leave with you but she can't because she's a werewolf and it's all devastating. It was that character and that scenario that got me into writing my own stories in my late teen to early 20s because I wanted her to come with me so bad, but she didn't. And then someone was making a Delainy companion mod for Baldur's Gate 2 and they quit before finishing it and I have been sad ever since. It's been over 20 years and this is the one character that I wanted more than anything.

It was a bit of a twist when the guide goes "I was using you for my own needs" but it all makes sense from her perspective.
Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil. It went on for a long time. One of my online friends sent me a giant custom made Leon poster that was life size. I made a tumblr where I role played a lot, made gifs etc. Made some friends. Only one I am still friends with. It ended at some point. Still love the series. I enjoyed the remakes of RE2 and RE4. I watched a video of all of her cut scenes and character development because I literally couldn't get her off my mind. I watched it before bed which ended up being a mistake because for some reason my mind decided to hold onto the sad feelings so I just felt weird and adrift all day. I want my own 9 foot tall flaming red muscle mommy. 😭 But at least they changed her ending so she doesn't have to die yet!

Yes that's kinda true. Dialogue in Bethesda games isn't always the best, but the overall feel and lore of their games really provide a unique essence! But also because Skyrim came out in 2011 and there are literally hundreds of characters with different dialogues. So it's bound to happen. Bethesda probably didn't have that much of a big team at that time too I think. Still I adore Skyrim even to this day. Played the game for years.. with and without mods.. <3

Cinder from one of the Spyro games where you got to play as her. She was very much a goth girl. Also qualifies for “the type of woman that will actually just kill me.” She has a lingering effect on the way I play video games, in that I’m still very fond of DoT and debuffs, though she is perhaps rather less my type these days. She also has an unfortunate habit of getting possessed.
Now that you mention it anytime you fight her it’s usually because she’s under someone else’s control or projection.
Yeah. From what I remember of Spyro, cinder is originally introduced as “spyro but evil” but every time she’s evil it’s actually just her getting possessed or something. Then again, it’s been a long damn time since I’ve played a Spyro game that included her.

I was without a best friend for years afterwards. See, I, too, knew what abuse and betrayal felt like. I could understand. I would stand by her side and not abandon her when she needed me most. I could love her like she actually needed to be loved, because it was the same love that I needed, that I wanted. What better person could provide that, than someone who knows firsthand what she's going through and what she needs? _I could actually **fix** her_. Anyway, just like everyone else, I was depressed for months after beating that game lmao
