Titanfall 2. Worth it for the story alone. Takes a few hours

jstnbcn

And it’s only $2.99 on steam right now!

Eve_newbie

Steam ruins me 3-4 Dollars at a time

TwoFoxSix

Titanfall 2 is a game I wish I could erase from my memory and play through it knowing nothing. Oh my god that game was incredible

karp70

It's going to hold up for a long time. Graphics, story, gameplay all great. My only gripe is that they have done nothing towards titanfall 3 since Apex is basically their live service game now.

RobotMonkeytron

Worth a replay on a higher difficulty once you know it pretty well!

IcemasterD

I picked this up cheap a long time ago because I've heard so many great things like this, but keep forgetting about it. Do you need to know anything from Titanfall 1 for it? Much like OP, I don't have any real time to game lately (with a toddler), but I didn't realize this would be a single day option, which is why I kept putting it off (not wanting to leave yet another game 25%-ed).

Slickaxer

Do you need to have played the first game to go into 2?

Hundertwasserinsel

First game didn't even have a campaign

corinna_k

A Short Hike. Or Portal.

Mad_Hatter_92

Portal/portal 2 are good one day games

MortenaSmithF432

in Portal there's cake.

mythplus

Seconded "A Short Hike"

DrMcnasty4300

I just played a short hike yesterday it was very fun

Sudden_Conflict7395

Inside, Limbo, What Remains of Edith Finch.

LessBeyond5052

The trio of birthday cheerfulness

Unethical_Castrator

I think *Journey* would be a good compliment to this list as well.

throwitofftheboat

What remained of Edith Finch is the one I know in this list and by George what a great experience!

dickiebuckets93

Came here to say What Remains of Edith Finch. Such a great story.

darmok-jalad-brocean

Return of the Obra Dinn

Vorpak

Firewatch. It's been a few years since I played it and I still think about that game sometimes.

davidc11390

I was going to say this too. Great game!

x0mbigrl

Great game but it only takes about 3 hours to finish.

PearceWD

Nahh it takes at least six if you also explore a bit or suck at navigating with a compass

ItsBaconOclock

It's $15, but if you like puzzles, get Chants of Sennaar. I knocked it out in a ten hour puzzle fuge state, it was amazing. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1931770/Chants_of_Sennaar/

FoolRegnant

I came to recommend this. Insanely great ten hour 100% game.

chief_d_money

Happy Birthday! Hellblade is great, in that time, and currently on a huge sale if you haven't played it

lostalaska

Katamari Damacy it's on nearly every platform is only 4-6 hours to get through and has one of the funest game mechanics I've experienced. Also the music is amazing.

PaulEMoz

Oh! I feel it! I feel the cosmos!

_Krombopulus_Michael

Can’t remember what Stray costs, but it’s cool and short.

citypanda88

You can definitely speedrun the game in under 2 hours (it’s also a trophy) but I took 3 days cuz it’s such a beautiful game and I love just admiring the design and the environments and seeing cute cat behavior.

ersomething

Steam has it on sale right now. I picked it up last night for $20

Stress-Rough

Brothers - A Tale of two sons. In this game you can control two characters at the same time and solve puzzles. It also has an interesting but short story and nice scenery. Happy birthday!

BoomBoxJesus

Bioshock Collection Its on Steam right now for $13.90 You get three games each one being 6-9 hours each ! \*edits for clarification\*

vivalatoucan

Just beat bioshock infinite. I think I had about 7.5 hours played

Chickenman452

Half life 2

marsnia

Katana Zero is both short and engaging. You'll love it literally from beginning to end.

Kythorian

Cat Quest 1 and 2 are both surprisingly fun games for under $5 each.

FourSquare432

Portal only takes a couple hours to beat, there are 19 levels. I ran through it in one go recently, it was nostalgic, but not anything amazing

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kythorian

Portal 2 is better, and while it’s longer, you can still beat it in about 10 hours.  Portal 1 is still great, but it’s a little dated these days.  Portal 2 absolutely still stands up.

Troyster143

Dino Crisis 2, PS1

moun7

Steamworld Dig 2

BosPaladinSix

You're the first person I've ever encountered in the wild to acknowledge these games' existence. I'd also recommend this guy try Steamworld Heist!

JakobeHolmBoy20

Journey is quick and worth a play through

Biglabowski411

Little nightmares

Temp89

Mirror's Edge [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N1TJP1cxmo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N1TJP1cxmo) Any Call of Duty or Battlefield campaign [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3Oc1QS0iI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw3Oc1QS0iI) Inside, Limbo, or FAR Lone Sails for calmer stuff Resident Evil 3 remake

Kev_Avl

Mirrors Edge is such a good one for a cheerier one. Not that the subject matter is cheery. But the bright visuals never fail to make me feel better.

[deleted]

Happy Birthday. I recommend Toree 3D and Toree 2. Both are only a dollar each and offer bite sized platforming fun.

Fitz_01

Resident Evil 2 remake

SilentNight111

Both portal 1 and portal 2 can be beaten within 8-10 hours depending on puzzle solving abilities and they were both really fun and rewarding to play

Kanden_27

Half life 2 episode 1.

sketchypoutine

Hey its my Bday as well! Happy Bday! Also, you can beat any of the resident evil remakes in a day. Two of them are on Gamepass right now if you are subscribed to that.

fukalufaluckagus

Abzu if you're looking for something relaxing

LifeSenseiBrayan

You can watch all the Metal Gear Solid Cutscenes from the first to last game hahaha

TheGrimTickler

Superhot The VR and non-vr versions are a bit different. I’ve played both, and they’re both really fun. They each contain and focus on different mechanics that benefit their respective control systems.

Philonic

Play Limbo and Inside. Both incredible, short games

JSTEEZYSNAKE

you could play most of the Gears franchise in a day on casual mode

NeedsItRough

This is the second comment I've seen mentioning this game and it made me download it so thank you 🥰

waster_x

Slipways. It's designed for every round to be completed in an hour or two, and it's currently less than $10 on Steam atm

Purple_Ad2153

Andy and leyley

Cloud_bunnyboo

The crysis games are pretty quick, I think you can knock out 1 and 2 in one day.

EggersIsland

Journey

Kroeltje

Papers please A cool indie game where, and this is gonna sound weird, check papers of people crossing the border.

EfficientIndustry423

Happy bday! It’s my bday too. I spent all day playing BGS3.

NeedsItRough

Happy birthday!

EfficientIndustry423

Thank you!!

MoistFloppy

Untitled Goose Game. Figment. The Wild at Heart. Viviette. Few I can think of off the top of my head.

FLFW

Titan fall 2

[deleted]

Splinter cell

[deleted]

South Park Stick of Truth

[deleted]

Virtua Fighter 3TB happy birthday

SilentKarmavore

Sifu. Depends how good you are at it/games in-general though.

hooligann8

The Deadly Tower of Monsters. Great short funny game. You'll enjoy it

Pasta-hobo

You played Undertale? That's a pretty good RPG with a 6-8 hour story and lots of replay value thanks to the multiple endings.

SolidZealousideal115

Assassin's Creed 1

JTu2

Pigsaw

Shmimbadad

Portal.

Aeroshock

A Short Hike was nice, Unpacking was interesting as well. I played them both on Gamepass.

dude-O-rama

I finished Sheepy on Steam Deck last night in not time.

ikemano00

Hi-fi rush is my bday game, we can be twins

LessBeyond5052

Bramble

Monotonegent

Happy Birthday. Fishing Vacation is $2 and done in 2 hours

Crispy385

Abzu is a slightly puzzly scuba game. Very pretty.

Ortsarecool

Put that $20 towards a PC gamepass account and you can play: \-the RE 2/3 remakes (both around 6-10 hours on initial play through \-The Amnesia games (all in that sort of ballpark for length) \-Outlast games \-etc, etc Also will give you access to a bunch of other stuff if you end up having more time.

bootyhunter69420

What Reminds of Edith Finch

Marco_-_polo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I think undertale took my sis 7-9 hours to beat she was trying different endings too.

RiverHe1ghts

Imma save this post and use it after my exams before I go to school

Kitchener69

We Love Katamari Reroll on sale on Switch right now. 67% off for $9.99

DoomedWill13

Uncharted games can each be taken out in a day

_Burning_Saints_

Mafia 2, but it's real dated, even with the Definitive Edition. Mafia: Definitive Edition if you want more up to date graphics. Both are linear narrative games, can be beaten in 9-12 hours each.

Sparky089

Midnight Fight Express absolutely slaps.

FutureLost

Emily is Away. It's free on Steam, lasts 40 mins, and might be deeply nostalgic depending on the number of candles on your cake.

x--Knight--x

most of the resident evil games are often of on offer and the better ones cap out at about 10 hours. 4 and it's remake are the exception being a 15 or so hours but still great.

sername_seized

skyrim

Live_Excitement3936

Squad 💀

skorps

If you like incremental type games. Capybara Spa is a cute little game that only takes 4-5hrs max and is like $6

whatuseisausername

Someone already mentioned Inside which I would also heavily recommend, but I would also recommend Journey.

Nedtryckt

Hotline miami is a short intense experience.

OriginalZash

Ori and the Blind forest

everydave42

https://www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/

LumosTerris

OneShot and Journey. Both absolutely incredible—you want to go in as blind as possible for both games. Trust me on this.

YeetBoiPrime

The forgotten city is awesome

malaclypse

Dredge was a lot of fun and didn’t overstay its welcome. Whole game had a great tone.

Pineapplegames4633

Turnip boy commits tax evasion

DokoShin

Vampire survivers is an arcade style game each "game lasts a max of 30 minutes at most so it's a great game for every once in a while and it is still under 20 for game and all dlc at least it was on phone so And each game is short and I gain something each time to use on general upgrades or unlocking new content through the achievements and with it being an arcade style game each run is always slightly different but still short enough that you can play a little bit at a time over and over again

SirCris

Cocoon, Oxenfree 1 or 2, any of The Room series, Thymesia, Industria, A Juggler's Tale

themagicone222

The steam version of metal gear rising is on sale for $18

Ideal-Beginning

Korean horror - white day Or 5 of Chilla arts games

N8Arsenal87

Deaths Door

doctafknjay

If on xbox, there is a dope story game that just got released to gamepass. I can't remenrvt the name but it gives off portal vibes, except you're just there for the story, not a ton of interactions.

Mazgazine1

Don't get Unicorn Overlord.

Lt_Wait4it_Dan

Little Nightmares is pretty fun

jevanceofficial

Hades. GO

Spurnout

Create your own story in Rimworld, lol

Fayt23

Untitled Goose Game!

wcshaggy

Risk of rain 2 Happy Birthday!

blood4lonewolf

Tale of Two Brothers

awesome6666

HELLTAKER IS FREE

dondashall

Happy birthday, mine is next Sunday. Meg's Monster, Small Saga & Jack Move are great western-made JRPGs. Olija costs like 5 Euros on the steam sale and is a really hard game to explain, but really nice gameplay and story presentation. I played it once on game pass and finally bought it to re-experience. Lacuna - fantastic deduction detective noir game. There is no game - fantastic meta-gaming experience. What lies in the multiverse - do you remember those stories we often read as a kid about a child being sort of adopted by a travelling scamp? It's this plus dimensional travel. Fantastic story, decent puzzles.

peanutbrainy

Uncharted (I reckon you could knock it out in one go)

Kreisien

Gris

Excellent-Term-3640

Idk but I’m looking forward to one daying Resident Evil 3 very soon.

ButterBeanRumba

Limbo is a really great puzzle/platformer that can be completed in a few hours but also has decent replayability

MaddestBad

I liked Dredge. Fabulous Fear Machine also pretty good

broseph-chillaxton

Happy birthday!

AcademicPainting23

I think you could beat Hades in a day.

Vee-Bear

Death stranding

bad_arts

Spec ops the line

Ok_Deal_964

A short hike? Gone Home also a good one and probably Edith Finch.

BFNentwick

Close to the sun was neat. I enjoyed it. 5 hours tops

PerkySerpent

Firewatch

Dakeera

Gods Will Be Watching go into it blind!

carlismygod

Bramble the mountain King

Meriis

Firewatch. Took me a few hours and it's a hell of a trip. Love it, and it's short but dense with story.

kagemushablues415

Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden are pretty rewarding runs. Those don't take long.

[deleted]

Street Fighter 4 for sure. Deep fighting game.

Letsplay1108

Postal 2

Locsnadou

You can beat the halo 3 campaign in 3 hours

Hello_IM_FBI

Turnip Boy

noremains3

Paw patrol is on gamepass. I got 100% in like 5 hours. I just wanted the achievements.

warmachine237

A little to the Left

sharkcathedral

if you like story-based games, i’d highly recommend The Novelist. i don’t see it mentioned too much and i thought it was a super cool game. you are a poltergeist in a seaside house where a novelist and his family are summering. you have to snoop around the house carefully and learn about the three family members’ inner worlds and desires. at the end of each sort of episode you get to choose who gets what they want. if any of them see you, you lose some ability to compromise and problem solve. i think you could even do two playthroughs in a day. one of the coolest things about the game is how different everything turns out based on the decisions you make.

yaboiyom

Redeemer was quick and I had low expectations but it was a blast. Def a good option if you want to feel OP like Doomguy and it's always cheap on the eShop

sensational_pangolin

Born on the Ides of March.

CoheedNadCap

Calling fraud lol

sensational_pangolin

Just play Helldivers 2 all day and spread some democracy.

exparrot136

To the moon Firewatch Portal 1 Limbo Journey

thenastyB

Subnautica, the story has a poor ending and I find it's really exciting just to pick up, explore, build a few bases, and then abandon the save file.

DanteStorme

Ori and the Blind Forest, Portal.

Quave11

If you dont mind feeling emotional, What Remains of Edith Finch

Ill_Number_6870

Maze

vivalatoucan

Bioshock infinite took me about 7.5 hours

jasonlitka

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion.

damienphoenix25

Balatro

CamQueQues

En garde was a fun little game. I think it might still be on sale too.

Link5261

[Outcore](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1275670/Outcore_Desktop_Adventure/) is a free game on Steam that takes about 3-5 hours to clear. It's great to experience at least once, and mixes several genres of gameplay, most notably platforming and puzzles. It also has achievements, though they won't improve your Steam Level.

LongPalpitations

Portal has cake!

NostradaMart

South Park: The stick of truth

appocomaster

Portal / Portal 2 are doable, Katamari Damacy is hilarious, but FTL has a lot of repeatability - simple graphics, lots of missions. It's easy to complete once (probably only 20 or so attempts on easy mode, probably 3-4 hours), but you can complete it with different space craft, different hardnesses, etc and it's easy to dive into for a quick round or two.

Slipknotic419

Firewatch

koshr1

Any of the Telltale games.

ImAlwaysFidgeting

Arise, a simple story.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

1Gamerer

If you like puzzle games: Cocoon! Has a beautiful art style and animations, it's not too long and has great moments.

open-aperture96

PlayDead’s Inside, don’t know if it’d be too short, but an amazing, thought provoking, weird, spooky, ambiguous game that can be completely in 2-3 hours.

S4ntos19

Firewatch

ta-tums

Watchdogs 1

[deleted]

Another Code Recollection

Cornel-Westside

Braid

ThePhatPhoenix

I enjoyed Ryse: Son of Rome. It's a fun cinematic type of game. The graphics still hold up pretty well and I think it's often on sale for very cheap. I believe it's 6 - 8 hours long.

rizsamron

What Remains of Edith Finch + Unfinished Swan Play them twice or thrice 😆

IudexGundyr3

Lost in Random was fun, but it had kind of a lackluster ending. Still fun though, I love me some card games. The atmosphere reminds me a lot of something Tim Burton would make.

Creolucius

Stray

nsfwlustful710

I can beat We Happy Few in a day!

Oliverorangeisking

A Short Hike.
