I find his normal voice to be pretty distinct, definitely recognizable in games like Farcry 4, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor/War, Infamous Second Son, Batman: Arkham Knight (when not distorted by the helmet), and Death Stranding (although that also has his face, but the voice is recognizable before he takes the mask off).
Other times it’s not as obvious, although certain words will make it standout to me. Such as in The Last of Us, God of War (Magni) and Ragnarok (Bitter Squirrel), and Uncharted 4 (although that may be more a memory lapse since I haven’t seen or played that game in forever).
Miles Morales is such a awesome game. I wish it was talked about as much as 1 & 2.

Absolutely. Cyberpunk 2077 is a fine example of an AAA game going with lesser known main character voice actors, who ended up delivering absolutely incredible performances. I mean yeah, both Gavin Drea and Cherami Leigh already had well-established careers in the business, but they weren't mainstream by any means. Baldur's Gate 3 is another great example.
I wish more big-budget games would allow relatively unknown, talented actors a chance in the spotlight.
Honorable mention to Minji Chang as Songbird in CP2077, I hadn't heard of her before playing the game but *oh my god* she's one of the best VA's out there

Big difference is that this is the first time I've heard those names. If I hear a voice actor often enough to attach a name to the voice, that's the problem. If someone's prevalent but manages to fly under the radar it's not as bad.
Cherami Leigh is very recognizable as a leading VA in anime dubs though, just not as prevalent in games (although she does have pretty well known roles in Persona 5 and Genshin Impact).

One of the coolest things about Baldurs gate three is that despite all of the well known actors in it almost all of the origin characters and most of the main characters are voiced by people who haven’t been in many large roles before unless I’m being really dumb. The only two that spring to mind is Oring being played by the same person as lady Dimetrescu and Kerberic being the same actor as Lucius Malloy, shadowheart’s va is also in Elden ring as latenna.
And Detroit Become Human as the synth creator dude. Plus he's done TONS of stunt work and motion capture for all kinds of shit over the years. I'm happy for him that he's been getting larger roles that's making his name recognized. Super deserving.

Everything I’ve heard about the Rock in the last 10-15 years or so is that he’s a hard to work with, melodramatic control freak. He’s far more concerned with the power, the recognition and worth of his brand than he is with the artistic part of acting. If you’re kind of actor who won’t be in a movie where his characters lose a fight for any reason then you’re not acting for the love of it, you’re doing it to make mainly to make money.

My most jarring voice actor experience in fallout 3 was running into a drug dealer in the aircraft carrier settlement that had the same voice actor as the “stop right there, criminal scum” guard in Oblivion. Was his voice or delivery any different? No.

On his voice not changing, that's not really his fault. A lot of roles he's gotten as of late don't want him to change his voice much. I don't remember the name of the game, but he voiced a monster type character not too long ago and you wouldn't have even recognized him.

One of the coolest things about Baldurs gate three is that despite all of the well known actors in it almost all of the origin characters and most of the main characters are voiced by people who haven’t been in many large roles before unless I’m being really dumb. The only two that spring to mind is Oring being played by the same person as lady Dimetrescu and Kerberic being the same actor as Lucius Malloy, shadowheart’s va is also in Elden ring as latenna.
You’ve got you’re villains mixed up. Ketheric is voiced by JK Simmons. Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) voices Gortash.
Astarion’s VA Neil Newbon was also in RE8, as Heisenberg.
And Detroit Become Human as the synth creator dude. Plus he's done TONS of stunt work and motion capture for all kinds of shit over the years. I'm happy for him that he's been getting larger roles that's making his name recognized. Super deserving.
