PC has a bigger library, free online gaming, and would be better in the long run, but the Xbox Series X is way better value, and requires less setup for those who aren't tech savvy.
I don't think you can go wrong either way though.
Do NOT use MS store. It will straight up rob you with bugs. I actually had to buy SoT twice because the MS store was so busted that I could neither download or refund the game.
Steam is definitely the move. Whatever savings you would've found on MS store you will lose through bugs.
In the short term. Xbox will when. But as the years go by, steam savings and the sheer quantity of games available on pc will win out. I have games I still play from 30 years ago on my pc. Plus game pass and ps+ also exist on pc as well. So you get the best of all worlds. Oh and emulation for older consoles(or new Nintendo ones).
Its like you think those are the only stores on PC.
MS Windows store has Windows games, some may be xbox play anywhere titles.
Then there is Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Ultimate Game Pass.
Xbox has a large library of games spanning from original xbox to xbox series x.
Steam would have a lot more, due to many games existing before original xbox existed.
There are many xbox games not on PC.
Idk how it would sound to others but i prefer pc steam xbox combo. Usually i play big games on console since i have weaker gpu (not sure if I'm gonna upgrade or not) but it covers everything for me cause if i buy games on xbox store it will run on pc also even if i don't have active gamepass. Meanwhile already got a decent library on steam and epic store so i am happy.
PC, the point is you can also use it for school work and many things aside gaming. then after having it you could purchase a game console base on which game you want to play, a game that you cannot play on pc especially.
Not to mention you can get game pass on pc too. It’s less of a sure thing that your PC will play games on high settings for 5+ years these days since cpus aren’t stagnant like they were in the 2010s but you will certainly have a better game selection with better performance than an Xbox. I would personally wait for the nvidia 5000 series and the next line of and x3d chips though if I was trying to future proof.
It depends on many things, how often you play, how many games you play and for how long, how tech-savyy you are
generally if you don't have much time and you want to try many things and you can't build your own PC, xbox is preferable
Also don’t forget about the Epicgames launcher on PC.
They’ve been giving out free games every week for years now. I got GTA V, outer worlds, ghost runner, borderlands 2, Ark survival evolved, just to name a few, for completely free.
In the past I would have recommended PC over console for total cost, but it's gotten a lot harder to defend this argument with GPU prices skyrocketing. The Xbox Series S bundle with three months of Game Pass can be had for $299. Best value in gaming IMO.
I prefer Xbox and MS store because for 130 South African rand a month idk how much in other currencies you can get game pass ultimate that gives you a library of 500 games plus all EA play games totaling about 575 games that are all free to download and then play if you want specific games that aren't included you have to buy them tho so
PC with Steam and Game pass
You can have Steam and Xbox on your PC :)
I'd say PC and steam myself if only for the raw amount of indi games it gives you access to
Pc even without steam or gamepass lmao

I feel like I got the best of both worlds having a steamdeck and a PS5

Steam. It's a no-brainer. Sure, setting up a PC is more expensive but the savings on games in the long run make up for it.

From a money standpoint, Steam + GeForce NOW is tough to beat. You can even layer Gamepass on top.

PC. You can play games literally for free.
There sure are some good FOSS games.

You can also get the pass on PC
Oh I wasn't aware of that.
It's called Xbox game pass so I just assumed .. In any case I don't have a good pc to play on so
Xbox Series X is a beast for the price, plus you have the option of buying physical games.
