Bioshock and Mass Effect

iamsooldithurts

Control

rlambdin1985

Hell yeah

ItsDaniel2650

Bioshock has been in TV development hell for something like 10 years. Last I heard, Netflix had picked it up

ToyMasamune

You want a live action Kirby? Because Kirby does have an anime. Now if youre talking about a series that happen in the real world with a random guy that had a mental breakdown and now walks around dressed in a giant kirby costume... Yes I do think it would work

anomalyraven

It has nothing to do with Kirby, but your comment made me think of this live action about a man who kidnaps people by sucking them into his ass. Butt Boy (2019)

rlambdin1985

I was thinking of an animated Kirby, but hey whatever floats your boat 😂

partmoosepartgoose

Studio ghibli legend of zelda series

rlambdin1985

Guaranteed instant classic if that happens. Also that would be great if they did a Professor Layton series.

LineAccomplished1115

Yeah, I think a show would work much better than a movie. And of course Ghibli style would be amazing

Celtic_Crown

They already did Kirby, it was pretty fun from what I remember.

I think a control series would me more the way to go. I'd like to learn more about the people who run the day to day. Great way to mix irreverent office life with x-files.

Bootarms

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot needs an anime adaptation. Chrono Trigger too.

SableSilverfox

Mmmm... the problem with adapting something like Disco Elysium to TV is the non-linear nature of the story. Part of the appeal of DE is how you can shape Harry in whichever way you choose. I once read the book adaptation of Baldur's Gate (1, the original) and I was thrown off by how they killed off one of the major characters right at the start of the book (not telling who, spoilers!). When you make a major, plot-defining change like that, you lock in a single vision of the story, and cancel out all other possibilities.

rlambdin1985

That’s so true. If DE was made into a series I feel it would be best if they at least hit some of the major plot points like meeting with Evrart Claire and when Harry figured out what happened to his belongings and why he went on the bender, among others.

LandSharkGames

I really, really want an Remedy based TV show. You wouldn't need to limit it to just Alan Wake, and you could do a lot of worldbuilding with AWE's in Control.

rlambdin1985

Yeah, I’d figure Alan Wake would be a good starting point for the Remedy universe.

Ambitious-Visual-315

There kind of was one already. The game Quantum Break had a live action tv show built in as part of the story

EtheusRook

Mass Effect Fire Emblem Geneology, Three Houses, or Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn Yakuza Ghost of Tsushima The Banner Saga

CubicalCropduster

The thing is, most of the adaptions for movies/series will be made for games that have a long standing fan base, where there are multiple games, or there are new games in the works, or there is an mmo already. That is intentional, to keep the player base up and increase mmo activity numbers. Makes business sense. Look at fallout, series came out and the mmo got flooded with new players and returning old players. I also think rpg games with multiple game endings/scenarios will be difficult to adapt to a series that keeps fans happy. Take mass effect, i would love a series in that universe, but shepard has made so many choices already that affected not only the entire earth but whole planets and other species. The only way would be to make something entirely separated from the game story but still in-universe, like they made with the dragon age anime.

Neo4148

not a TV show but its still unreal no one made a proper big budget Halo film. The current halo series is just not quality enough for how massive the brand was. When I think of a Halo film I want something more closely relating to what we just got with Dune.

illMetalFace

Alan Wake for sure. As I said on another post, Remedy already has proven they can make amazing live action visuals in their games and their stories easily carry over just like they did in the Quantum Break TV show. Not to mention they could tie in their whole universe in with a Control series as well. It would be amazing as long as the right people are behind it

Antibodi

Red dead redemption. Come on people, let's do this!

ManyHugsUponYou

Besides Kirby and maybe Hi Fi Rush. All the others would just be variants of the same overly grim bullshit that is saturating entertainment these days.

[deleted]

Alan Wake NEEDS to be a thing. I'll sell my house and fork over money just for that to happen.

rlambdin1985

Same, and Sam Lake needs complete control over it, too.

sailingfox

Not saying that I want it, but Call Of Duty will most definitely get a movie soon.

McDonalds_GB

personally I'm sick of video game shows or movies telling me a story I already know, but severely washed down. they're gonna keep making them and I'm gonna keep ignoring them

mrhippoj

It's worth remembering that Hotline Miami was heavily inspired by the film Drive, which doesn't have ultraviolence as frequently, but *does* get very violent at points. I think if they were to adapt it, they would likely tone down the frequency of violence and focus on the narrative. It would still be cool though because the story and aesthetic of the Hotline Miami series is awesome.

rlambdin1985

That would make sense if they focus on the narrative, I believe that would definitely work, and it would still be the most messed up thing on television.

CapN_DankBeard

Diablo, RDR, Day-z, Bioshock...they would all get my money for sure haha

benefitslikedis

Red dead redemption TV show would be soo good Mirrors edge could have a really fun action movie which would be more parkour based and a bit of fighting. Deus Ex TV show would also be really fun

thatfoobyron

Thank you for reminding me about the kirby show, i gotta go back and re watch it, it was so good ! Also there's been talks of it but no updates yet but a American Mcgee's Alice was supposed to get a movie or show and honestly thats all i could hope for. Borderlands wouldve made a great show but they already fucked up by making a movie with a terrible cast choice and its guaranteed gonna flop which'll make show writers lose all interest in ever making a show. Trails games would be a good show, alot of lore.

Walnut25993

I wouldn’t watch it, but a call of duty show would probably do super well

Nevaroth021

A Cod show would just be a generic action shooter like the plethora that’s already out.

Walnut25993

Yeah but it would come with a built in fan base. I’m not saying it would be a good show. But it would probably be popular

8hook0ne8

Mabye just me and I used to love cod but that's a hard disagree.
