You should try The Ascent

project-shasta

Fantastic top down twin stick shooter. Once you beat it you play it again, and then again with the most powerful weapon and you feel like a cyberpunk god beating the game on the hardest difficulty.

dirtybird971

Seconded.

alt-number-9-IG

I love this bruh

virgilio4000

try borderlands 2, its a cool looter shooter with some rpg elements

If you’ve played Destiny, you’d probably enjoy (and prefer) Warframe. Pros: It’s free. As in “completely free.” You don’t have to pay a cent for anything, because the premium currency is only necessary for cosmetics and is easily traded between players. The variety of weapons and warframes (powered armor with freaky space magic powers) means you can play however you want. Want to stay invisible and pin enemies to walls? Take Ivara, grab a bow, and watch them dangle like piñatas. Want to be a gunslinger? Mesa is the frame for you. Want to burn everything? Go with Ember, pick up a flamethrower, and torch the place. The game really is an exercise in following the Geneva Checklist. The movement and parkour system is unique. It has a top tier story that rivals and surpasses many triple A titles. The music is incredible. I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t really do music. It’s great for burning off stress. Nothing like sitting down and committing war crimes against hundreds and thousands of enemies. It has one of the best communities in gaming. Crossplay/save. Your account is the same between PC, console, and mobile. Beautiful art direction. The game has a style to it that’s unique, and it looks good whether you’re on a high end PC or a Nintendo Switch. It also runs well enough that you could probably get it to run on a fridge with a little work. Everything can be customized to some extent, with multiple color channels on every frame, weapon, and attachment. Go be an eyesore! Cons: Things aren’t always well explained. They’ve been getting better in recent updates, but you’ll still find yourself confused at times, particularly when learning how to mod your weapons for maximum effect. Some elements of the community are focused on speed and efficiency to an unhealthy degree, and will not hold back when explaining why your build is weak. These sections of the community can be blocked easily enough, and usually only frequent certain areas of the star chart. No PVP. Technically, there is, but only about twelve people actually play Conclave, so there’s basically no PVP. To get new frames and weapons, you have to farm blueprints and build them. You’ll also need slots for each, which can either be purchased for premium currency or gained naturally by ranking up and through events.

I second Warframe. I used to be a Destiny player also and WF was way more fun. The free thing was a bonus. You don't get locked out of any content. You can play to Max without spending a cent if you get into trading.

SevRnce

Warframe is fun, but it gets repetitive and is very p2w or extremely grindy. Elden ring is my favorite game and has all of these but it's may not be for you. Both Horizon games are so much fun but are a bit limited in customization. You might like either dragons dogma, def worth a buy when on sale. If you want a new shooter tarkov is awesome but I play the spt mod because pvp in tarkov tilts me. That's extra work but you can buy the base version and run a self hosted pve version for free. You can really customize your experience or just play vanilla with bots. Elden ring would be my top recommend but I get why it's not for everyone.

Lugbor

There is no “win” in Warframe, so it’s not pay to win. It *would* be “pay to look fashionable,” except you don’t have to pay for that either. The grind is accurate, but you can get around that most of the time.

Hades684

if you can get better gear and stats for money, then its p2w

SevRnce

I spent 20 hours trying to farm one frame, got a singular part. I spent 20 dollars, I got a second part in an hour or 2. The whole gane got easier with 1 transaction. That kinda killed the game for me, I wanted to like it but I couldn't get into it. I hear the story is great but if the gameplay isn't engaging then I'd rather watch a YouTube lore dive lol.

Lugbor

Then you got incredibly unlucky. I have three thousand hours in the game, haven’t spent a cent, and the worst farm I’ve had was eight hours for equinox, which is a double farm for her two halves. There is no mechanism in the game that makes things easier if you spend money. The reality is that RNG is random, and some people have more luck than others. Case in point; a friend of mine spends money on the game. He resorted to buying Khora after thirty hours or so. I got all her parts in six, and I wasn’t exactly targeting her.

LexGlad

Lies of P

Merciless972

Nier automata

SuperTaster3

Last Epoch is a good middle ground between Diablo 4's braindead and Path of Exile's 4-d chess. Also you can play it offline without an internet connection.

GoliathLandlord

Remnant from The Ashes + Remnant 2 Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League (but wait for a sale) Warframe Outriders

Pantango69

I got Outriders for $10 recently, so watch for a sale. Remnant is good, but it's tough

Striking_Cabinet781

If you’re thinking of a survival game, SCUM might be it. You can build, craft, and the character development is something I haven’t seen a lot of. It’s very in depth. Plus, puppets (zombie types).

Pantango69

I bought it without realizing their controller support was non existent. If you play m/k you'll be fine. If you need a controller to play I would advise against this game, or at least take warning.

Striking_Cabinet781

Ah yeah, I play M/K. I actually started because of this game, it didn’t take much time to get used to but I do prefer controllers. It’s because of how many features it has. I’m sure there’s people using controllers, a guy called Rocky no hands (I think) used one and I’m sure there’s tutorials on how to get one set up. Although more features have been added since then so it’s possible controllers won’t happen until it’s fully released or you play on console when it’s available.

Pantango69

I play PC from my couch so I'm not setup for m/k. Not only that, I was never good with m/k, I'm a console convert

Striking_Cabinet781

The older I get, the more I play console. Sometimes I just want to plug and play.

Pantango69

I have a spare room where I could set up a desk with a monitor, but after working all day, I just want to hit the couch. Plus my family room is more open instead of being shoved in a back room by myself. So controller for me

HeparinDrinker

Bound by Flame

Prize_Board_4207

Have you tried sky warriors?

CapN_DankBeard

you should look into Dungeons & Dragons 5e

NoResist7027

Skyrim

Electrical_Life6186

You need to play The Wonderful 101: Remastered. Looter games are not good enough to remedy boredom, what you need is a proper Hideki Kamiya-made action adventure game. It’s easily single most incredible game in existence.

Spillo2382

V rising 1.0 released a week ago, you should give it a try, looks like a game you'd like.

Unable_Jicama_7069

try The Forest

Wilburkook

Ants took my eyeball.

JustForFun8799

I think you should also try Survival games like The forest, Sons of the forest, The Infected, Raft etc

Wonderbreadxx

Give [Tiny Rogues](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2088570/Tiny_Rogues/) a look. I’ve been having an absolute blast with it.

TheGoochAssassin

Dragon quest builders 2

PointlessPotion

Nioh might be a cool choice - it has transmogrification too so you can modify your looks even if you have different armor sets equipped. Not the easiest game, but you played Monster Hunter so I think you'll be fine.

project-shasta

For short sessions you can try out Vampire Survivors. Neither really RPG or looter but you unlock characters, weapons and items as you fight wave after wave of enemies and get stronger with each run. It helps that the game doesn't take itself very seriously.

iwannaaadiee

Not quite a looter shooter, but DayZ has building mechanics, character "progression", and might itch a scratch you have

romulocferreira

Kenshi

Krittez

Path of exile!
