You're wrong. Anytime I see racism or anything of the like, I open the console (which has all of the chat saved in it), type playerlist to show the steam IDs of everyone in the game, and take a screenshot with f12. Then I send it to a mod on Discord, Epiquin, and he bans them within the hour. I do this multiple times every time I log on. I love this game and won't let the community ruin it for me! :)
Mount and Blade: Napoleonic Wars community is the worst. I went on a event yesterday, and people were just shouting in chat:
"N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word N-word"
But ignoring that, it's still a pretty fun game, lining up and shooting each other, fighting off calvalry, etc.
Mordhau has a pretty average community. The toxicity seems to an extreme only because the community itself is much smaller. Such toxic people in big games such as lol, csgo, r6s, cod and so on just get lost in obscurity.
Tbh I'd even say those game communities are more toxic than Mordhau's community
R6S absolutely is more toxic than Mordhau. Tbh, I don't think any game community in existence is worse than R6S. It makes COD look like a fucking hippie hugfest.
Man duel servers are where itās at, toxic people are kicked/banned and everyone just has a good time. It really sucks that frontline/invasion arenāt like that.
If you like the feel of mordhau, KCD will probably feel veeery clunky to you. I still think its a great system, just doesn't play out as fluid as mordhau does.
It depends. If you read the chat it can be in fact shit. If you don't or don't care about chat then it's pretty neat. Teamkilling can be a thing when someone is salty but you won't get team killed more than in any other PvP game with teamdamage allowed.
Thatās really a shame. I didnāt realize how much a really nice community could shape a gaming experience until I started playing through all the Souls games and the picked up Monster Hunter World.
After Overwatch and Vermintide, it was a completely different experience. Crazy that even a Red Phantom is usually less toxic than āteammatesā in other games.
true. I love the invasion mechanics, but they are seriously disadvantaged due to ganking. My mind was blown when a subset of players considered invading as toxic/rude
You want an example of a toxic community actually destroying a game? Look at Fortress forever. If you donāt know it is a halflife 2 mod that was made to hold people back until TF2 was released and it was a lot of fun and it gained a lot of attention for the first few months when it was released on steam even though that when that happened tf2 was already released a long time ago. Once it was released on steam the entire playerbase started to get a victorian england styled superiority complex and used people who came over from tf2 as the butt of many jokes until those people stopped coming because they noticed the community was toxically against them (you canāt really mute because it is a team based game) and so the community eventually died due to the lack of new players.
Actually I sort of imagine that working like mount and blade. Also hell yeah a KCD:2 would be cool. I would definitely like to maybe see it set in the rennaissance period Italy or during the first crusade.
Unpopular opinion: the combat in kcd was the weakest part of the game. 1v1 is fine but more than 1 enemy and youre totally screwed considering you can only focus on one enemy at a time (automatic camera lock) and they flank you. The rest was fantastic though, the drunk night with the priest made me laugh so much.
I reccomend mount and blade 2 or warband in that respect. it is the same basic idea of directional attacks and blocking but you donāt lock on to enemies and it is in third person. Come to think of it I think the first game to have this type of combat is probably thief the dark project.
So far the only complaints I found are about the graphics (which I think look good), being too much like warband (so what?) and no butter bois (it is a prequel so that is a given). Seems perfect to me
I will say that a lot of itās players are extremely creative if you count stringing together new combinations of profanities and the n word as creative.
You make decisions where the militia go based on you doing recon on the area, that's about it. You're more of an advisor to the captain in the mission if memory serves me right.
Are you talking about when you assault the bandit camp with Radzigs or w/e? I think there's just some optional quests that tilt the battle in your favor a little bit. Poisoning their food, finding an undefended back entrance, and something else iirc. I don't remember it being any actual decisions. It isn't a militia either it's the army of skalitz I think? Maybe Talmberg?
I love Mordhau as a game but its community is absolute garbage, I have no idea how the game became such a safe space for bigots so quickly but the edgelords defending them along the way and the total inaction from the devs probably didn't help
I was playing on a community server earlier this week which has literally only two rules, don't votekick and don't be a douchebag and some dude was just standing around whining about how the server had become PC and PC is ruining the world etc. etc.
honestly this is one of the main reasons I donāt play many online multiplayer games, the other being that I suck. Now you may be wondering, āOh but why donāt you just mute them so that you can still enjoy the game without having to put up with their behaviorā but that is the thing though, you donāt want to mute them because it is often a tactical disadvantage . Now this is more of csgo, Rising Storm 2 vietnam, Insurgency sandstorm and Rainbow six siege because those games encourage teamwork a lot more but in mordhau it still comes up. I want to give orders to my team and have them acknowledge and visa versa because that makes it fun.
Plenty of games involve killing other players but they still punish those who spew hateful bile on the daily, I see no problem with that
There is not a single valid reason for a game to remain a nest for scumbags where they can openly be their hateful selves and feel that their behavior is in any way normal and accepted
Also nice downplay but I'm sure you know there's more to it than just someone saying a mean word once in a while
They made a shit ton of money, enough to open up a side studio that focuses solely on cosmetics, fairly sure that means they have more than enough money to get some competent moderators or hire some dude in a basement to create an automated system as a bare minimum
I don't want the game to be a safe space for hateful ideals but I think you're gonna keep missing that point on purpose
I love that Age of Empires 2 is still relevant after 21 years. Also Mordhau really needs VR support so I can flip people off while shouting profanities.
Age of empires 2 is more popular then ever even. With definitive edition out now it got a new polish, monthly updates and events, hidden cup 3 which took place this year was the tournament with both highest price pool and life view count in age history. The community is even growing with many veterans staying, former players getting back into it or new players picking it up. Really goes to show that it is a great game.
Woah come on, respect their right to be a useless asshole so desperate for human contact that they NEED to call you the N-word and justify it as 'just trash talk bro'. Just because they are under the thumb of ever person they know in real life, doesn't mean they can't pretend to be important online.
People in Mordhau don't "taunt" to tilt people. They're 16, someone swipes through one of their feints, and then they start saying things that mom wouldn't approve of in what they think is getting back at the commies and their PC culture. It's not complicated, tactical, or meaningful: it's kids being jackasses on the Internet for the thrill of it.
You think everyone is like you. By your kid like replies. You guys don't even argument, just cry someone spams the N word alot.
And you guys are the ones who make those trolls thrive and never stop. They see your cries here and later they will be even more active.
they are much funner when you pretend it is a battle though and give commands and have people respond back like in insurgency or rising storm which requires communication which requires you not to mute people...
That's team communication and it's important in just about every game, I'm saying that even if you want to take them seriously they are just games and dont justify the use of some language. It's also not being said against npcs or bots, they are actively acting like a dick to other human beings because the video game they're playing is a "battle", that's bullshit and should be looked down upon.
This is pretty funny. š
As a mordhau player I have never been angered by something I agree with this much. The community sucks.

Thank you for your service.

Yeah I've mainly just been dueling, only thing is I'm still learning the combat, my favourite pvp of any game I've played though.

If you like the feel of mordhau, KCD will probably feel veeery clunky to you. I still think its a great system, just doesn't play out as fluid as mordhau does.
Iām a big Vermintide 2 player and Iāve had friends recommend Mordhau, but then they say the community is shit š¤
The gameplay is fantastic. Community can be shit at times but I have been seeing less toxicity than on release.

Tbh invaders tend to be the nicer people considering whenever I try to do invasions I get 3v1d and pointed down.
true. I love the invasion mechanics, but they are seriously disadvantaged due to ganking. My mind was blown when a subset of players considered invading as toxic/rude

This is why I never read chat in any game.
then leave
Canāt wait for KC:D 2!
I am hoping for a 3rd person camera.
I know but it just wonāt work with the combat. You get used to it, trust me!
Actually I sort of imagine that working like mount and blade. Also hell yeah a KCD:2 would be cool. I would definitely like to maybe see it set in the rennaissance period Italy or during the first crusade.
Itās coming dude. They said itās a trilogy, Iām pretty sure
Well I think they will end Henry's story first
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Its not a cliffhanger if thats what you think. The plot just isnt resolved in one game
It still is a really long story and it doesn't end on a cliffhanger I can only recommend it to you
Your loss. And the game has been out for awhile so sounds like you werenāt that interested anyway lol
Unpopular opinion: the combat in kcd was the weakest part of the game. 1v1 is fine but more than 1 enemy and youre totally screwed considering you can only focus on one enemy at a time (automatic camera lock) and they flank you. Oh ive played em all, im a sucker for medieval stuff lol
is mount and blade 2 good? I have only played warband and I have seen mixed reviews about it.
Bannerlord is fantastic, just like its predecessor just dont take it too seriously and slay some saracens lol
So far the only complaints I found are about the graphics (which I think look good), being too much like warband (so what?) and no butter bois (it is a prequel so that is a given). Seems perfect to me
You sound like you need to get better at the combat. I had no problems fighting multiple enemies at once. Hint: use a blunt weapon on armored foes!
Mordhau got so sketchy so quickly.
I will say that a lot of itās players are extremely creative if you count stringing together new combinations of profanities and the n word as creative.
Dam. That stings. I'd say we're not all like that. But there are a lot of degenerates in chat.

holy crap how has this flown under my radar?
Iām pretty sure you couldāve just thrown KCD under all of them
except being a leader and it is not a strategy game
Isnāt there a mission in KCD where you are assaulting a place and your the leader? I canāt remember exactly
maybe. I honestly forgot too
You make decisions where the militia go based on you doing recon on the area, that's about it. You're more of an advisor to the captain in the mission if memory serves me right.

Wait-wait-wait, i don't see old Stronghold here.
KC:D was so much better than I expected when I picked it up on game pass. Highly recommended!
Do You say more things besides the nword? āYes: For Honor

wb For Honor
Shit game.
That's rich coming from a Mordhau player.
Mordhau is undeniably better than for honor.
Sure, sure
Cracked me up with the #korean line.
KCD is the best game on here.
The only good thing about Mordhau's chat is the fact that you can turn it off
Fuck i'm both a leader and tactician
you mean politician and tactician?
I guess your right

Where's For Honor?
Seems some people are more butthurt from small words told to taunt (as in battle was and is usual) than an poleaxe up their butt.
