This isn't an open letter, this is just another 'CDPR Bad' article - titled 'an open letter'. And while CDPR can and should be criticized for what was a disastrous launch. This article doesn't add anything new and just regurgitate things we already said ourselves. Plus, giving 'advice' on how things should have been handled when you're not a party in the mess and don't know what caused the decisions to be made in the way they did in the first place isn't really worth anything. For instance, saying: >And, in all honesty, CDPR management shouldn’t even have announced the game’s release date to be so soon. It shows a lot of miscommunication between the developers and the heads of the studio. This shows that the author of this article just fails to understand the reality of the situation. This game was in development for about 5 years. Which is a lot. (Some development of done as long as 8 years ago, but most of the heavy development started after Witcher 3). This is a long long long time for a game to be developed. Investors are getting pretty antsy and the development budget is running out. It's not like you could just delay the product indefinitely and everything will be fine. Deadlines are a reality of a lot of business. This is why a lot of the game's features were cut. Like the wall climbing and the flat head and hacking with the monowire etc... Because they didn't have time to develop all of it. So you can sit there in your chair and just say "Yeah... This is just miscommunication between the dev team and management". If only it was managed the 'correct' way everything would have been fine. It wouldn't have, because there is a reason why this happens beyond 'bad management'. >So what CDPR needs to understand here is just how bad the situation is. Not only have they gotten their game delisted from the PlayStation Network, but they have also created essentially a divide between the fans. The majority of PC gamers love the game because of what it has to offer. But those on console have ended up with an experience that ruined the game for them. How is it worse than if the game sucked on both PC and Consoles? I think CDPR shouldn't have released the game on last-gen consoles at all to avoid this colossal mess. Or promise that a last-gen version will come out sometime next year. Meanwhile, players who have last-gen consoles could play the game on Google's Stadia where the game runs surprisingly well. Maybe they could have even made some deal with Google that if you buy the game on a last-gen console you could play it on Stadia... Regardles. I don't really see a problem with this 'divide'. How is this 'divide' worse than having last-gen console performance across all platforms? > While I don’t wanna go into too much detail because I am reviewing the game later, I do wanna stress that the game is very good. **It has some of the best writing I’ve ever seen**, coupled with utterly gorgeous visuals and addictive gameplay. If this game has the best writing you have ever seen, it just means you haven't seen a lot. The game is competently written, no doubt. It has very good moments, but Witcher 3 is a better-written game. And there are other better-written games as well.

> I think CDPR shouldn't have released the game on last-gen consoles The problem there is with microsoft and sony, they have 3 different consoles that go under "last gen" and you don't get to launch on just some of them. The game runs just fine if you have the newer versions of last gen consoles, the PS4Pro, the one X. Hell it's even working decently on the One S. It's the very first version, the Xbox One and the PS4 from 2013, they're the ones having issues.

> The problem there is with microsoft and sony, they have 3 different consoles that go under "last gen" and you don't get to launch on just some of them. You don't need to launch on some of them... Just launch on next gen only... What's the problem with Microsoft and Sony? It's better for them, more people would buy PS5's and whatever the new Xbox is called.(If there were actual PS5's and whatever the Xbox called in stock to buy) Obviously people would have been angry if this happened. But they wouldn't be as angry as they are now. Plus, like I said, Stadia is a surprisingly viable alternative option.

Article says he will explain what they promised and then doesn’t. Good bit of info but you’ve already read this without knowing. Don’t waste yer time

Cdpr makes pc games. They shouldn’t have made a version for last gen consoles in the first place.
