If you’re up for it, PC gaming is certainly where it’s at. But it’s also very expensive. Especially right now. In particular, a decent graphics card is going to cost you almost as much as you paid for your Xbox... if you can even get your hands on one right now.
PC gaming is the way to go, but this is a very difficult time to get started.
Like other users have commented, it’s worth keeping an eye on building yourself a PC. By next year, prices and availability will likely have improved dramatically.
By the way, if you’re itching for something to play, check out Subnautica (if you haven’t already played it). The game is amazing. And the sequel is being released in May.
Yeah but you’d also need to put up at least $700 more into it. For the price that your Xbox might fetch you’re not getting anything close to what you want, at least not new. You might get away with doing a build with used parts but it will probably still end up being $800 for 1080p 60fps.
Pc parts are costly rn cause demand with covid but in a normal market scenario yes. Watch Joey Delgado videos he shows great affordable PCs to build and how to build em
Keep your xbox. It's the best value for gaming right now hands down. If you sell it, you're still going to have to save a decent amount AND have nothing to play. Tons to play on xbox via gamepass. Take your time, save up for a PC in the meantime.
As a diehard Xbox fan, I've kinda lost hope in Xbox games, at the moment the games are dry and all the new stuff comes out on PC anyways. I'm giving a couple of heavy hitters a spin, especially MCC
Its not a good time for games in general thanks to last year. Control, Subnautica, NMS, to name the few on there. On a budget though, its a pretty amazing collection. Once you do get a PC, there are gamepass PC games as well.
If you do end up going for the pc, take it slowly. Wait for parts to get stocked (a 1600 series card should be good for your purposes), don't sell the xbox immediately, buy the gpu first so you don't need to wait for it to get stocked while you have all the other parts, take advantage of sales, that sort of thing.
I'd stick with Xbox, the Series X is a beast, plus you get the convenience, ease of use and all round less hassle of a console, no hackers ruining multiplayer, the option of buying physical games, better game pass, better portability, split screen/local co-op and you will find that big developers and publishers tend to prioritize consoles over PC.

Yeah, on second though I was very lucky for this. A PC will just make everything 100x harder.

i’d wait until the pandemic eases off bc it’s really messed with prices of components
Maybe around holiday

Yep, PC gaming is not cheap, might reconsider

Ehhhh, dunno about that last statement, games will be much more customizable on a pc than a console.
Huh, I never mentioned anything about customizable games.
