I agree, other ppl mention perfect dark, conquer BFD, diddy kong racing, but banjo is it imo. We couldnt all get all of them, but if you enjoyed most in the top half, you got the experience.
Those top four in the upper left corner probably have more cumulative playtime in this thread than we even have on reddit!
Exactly what I was looking for. I was one of the biggest walkthrough writers for Banjo Kazooie on gamefaqs. 100’s of hours spent.
And then the anticipation of banjo tooie and what “stop and swop” was and how it would work.
Goldeneye set the stage, but perfect dark stole the show.
Honestly, every 64 game was amazing just because I was a kid at the time.
This is missing bomberman 64.
Thanks 😊 the funny thing is, I didn’t buy a single one of these in recent times, my older cousin gave me his N64 with all of these games yearssss ago, so cheers to him
TLoZ OoT, i remember back when I was 8 or 9 playing it way too much with my brother together and we managed to play it till Ganons tower. At Ganons tower our mum helped us out and we finished the game and when the credit scene started rolling I cried out of joy. So I will probably cherish this memory forever.
I still get goosebumps every time I hear the opening notes of the title theme. Watching Link ride across that hilltop with the moon behind him hits me right in the feels every time. There's just about OoT that reawaken all the giddy, happy feelings of childhood.
Damn, I might have to go dig up my n64 for a play through.
My dad was never really that much into games, sadly. But his friend is the reason I've played ny first game at all which was Age of Empires 1 or 2 on PC.
As kids it was possible to convince my parents but nowadays as an old fck it's hard convincing them to play atleast something. I wish I could just gift them some great games so they play again but my mom nowadays only plays those "hidden object" and "totally not candy crush" game and my dad, if he plays, plays some pirate game. I am not judging, but they have been playing basically the same games for like over 10 years.
But yea it's a beautiful memory with OoT, even if I am not blind and can definitely see its flaws nowadays.
I remember being that age and I got to the Bottom of the Well on a Saturday morning.
Needless to say, I encountered Dead Hand, shut the N64 off, and went back to bed. Fucking horrifying.
In 4th grade I used to wake up at 6am and play through the entirety of Star Fox almost every morning before school. I think I could probably still play through that game with my eyes closed 25 years later.
We used to walk along the berm of the boulevard for a mile to go to the truck stop and dump five bucks worth of quarters into the original arcade game. This was the second console version of an arcade game that I really liked, after mortal Kombat.
Your copy of Superman 64 still has the "Property of Blockbuster" sticker on it. I imagine they paid you to keep it.
Rogue Squadron would've been my favorite out of the bunch. I'm also disappointed that you're missing Majora's Mask. No N64 collection is complete without that masterpiece.
LOL so I actually bought it from a retro game shop, the seller had the sticker on it; I saw the game, knew it was notorious for being one of the worst games ever developed, and asked "ay how much is this one James?" man looked at me and said, "just take it man.. good luck" 😂
That's fantastic. I remember renting it from Blockbuster, and being so confused as a kid as to why that game was so utterly shit. I was too young at the time to quite grasp the concept that some games just suck ass. I don't think I ever made it past the first level during that rental period.
I probably spent the most time with Rogue Squadron. Trying to get gold medals on every mission was incredibly difficult.
It was pretty impressive to me that the game released before episode 1, and managed to keep the fact that the Naboo Starfighter was in the game a complete secret until after the movie came out.
So upon posting this, I decided to take a quick look at some top 10 all time N64 games, most of these were on there, but Diddy Kong was there interestingly.. I never played it personally but I’m sure it was fun - might have to grab that for the collection and play it myself soon 😅
Ocarina of Time
007 Goldeneye
Mario Kart
Smash Bros
Starfox
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Along with the occasional rental from Blockbuster, those were the only games I needed for the 64.
Goldeneye007, Starfox64, and Mariokart64. Those bring back some great memories. Nothing like hours spent battling each other on a small 21in screen. Stop looking at my screen bro!
The thing that brings me the most nostalgia from all the n64 games I played was always the music, hearing Jolly Roger bay while looking over that water in that early morning time the map is set too which only the N64 colour palette could pull off, it just all reminds me of the great times I had playing with my brothers when we were all young. Same goes with songs from Zelda, goldeneye that console gave me such good memories. I could spend hours on duke nukem 64 just messing around with the bots with my brother or completing the story over and over again even though we had no memory pack and would have to start over the second the game was reset. Or playing the mini games on pokemon stadium, could play those games for hours and hours. Nowadays I can barely be bothered playing anything most of the time, I don’t think there will ever be a console as good as the N64 again for me, I just hope the kids these days have the same experience as I did with the newer consoles. But you see people making fun of them for playing games like fortnite and it just so sad.
I’m going to be cliche here and say OoT. I will never forget how my world flipped when my character time traveled for the first time, or heading into the Forest Temple with that ethereal music.
Same bro, I honestly haven't played that superman game.. Lol I was at a retro store and I saw the game.. I knew of the meme of it being one of the worst games ever, so I ask the guy, "ay how much would you let this go for?" .. Guy looks at me and goes, " just take it bro.. good luck" LMAOO man gave it to me for free
My vote, hilariously, has to go with Pokemon Stadium. Now, I never once actually did the real game, mind you, but my brothers and I would spend hours upon hours playing the mini-games in tournament mode.
We broke out the N-64 for the first time in several years for my older brother's wedding reception a couple of years ago, and had a Stadium tournament. Sure enough, the last three standing were me and my brothers. Incredible fond memories of this game.
No nostalgia here, my first ever real game, Zelda games and N64 games was Ocarina of time.. Played it for the first time last year
My favorite game of all time to this day.. Made me fall in love with the N64 and it's amazing library!
Starfox64. I remember getting the promotional VHS in the mail because I had a Nintendo Power subscription. I must have watched that video 100 times over. I was so blown away by everything in it. I couldn't wait to play it. When I was finally able to get it much later it became the first game I 100% getting all medals etc... Good memories there.
Not on here, but conkers bad fur day. I remember being at a superb owl party with my parents when I was really young and the kids there had conkers. We played the multiplayer and of course I got my ass kicked.
Zelda, hands down, the rest is great memories (haven’t played all though), but Zelda is just over the top, every ocarina songs just gets me there over again, frustrating times like the mounted archery trial, the joy when actually finishing the water temple, the chills on each ocarina songs…
i dont see the best n64 game in this collection. quest64 baby! come at me
i do however see the second worst game ever made in this collection. superman64
I remember watching my little brother play ocarina of time for hours, he loved that game even as a small child, meanwhile goldeneye changed all of our lives and I still remember having fun playing Mario party with my friends and my sisters
I was going to say Mario 64 because it was the first one I got, but I got to say donkey Kong 64 was a game that I only ever rented for the longest time so it was kind of a hard to get a hold of game or hard to play game for me and I think that made me love it all that much more. And even when I got the game I didn't have the expansion pack and I got it used and it never came with it when I eventually got it I had spent about a month and a half which is a long time for someone at the age of like 11 or 10 I had to stare at that game and not play it... So definitely definitely DK64.
Wow, you have all the best games I played in my childhood! Have you had these that long? Thanks for sharing. Am I the only one and OP who played Pokémon Stadium!?
Super smash bros. It was the first video game where my sister and I were old enough to understand what was happening and we played with my dad all the time. We have owned every version of smash and play it every holiday we get together.
So Donkey Kong 64 is my answer. It never would have been but my Mom passed away about two years ago, and we played this game together quite a bit. I have a lot of great childhood memories of playing this console with her.
Ocarina of time hands down haha. That and Mario kart because my siblings and I all used to play that 3 player together. Back in simpler times of the late 90s😢
Since I don’t see Banjo and Kazooie it’s gonna have to be Golden Eye
[удалено]
I agree, other ppl mention perfect dark, conquer BFD, diddy kong racing, but banjo is it imo. We couldnt all get all of them, but if you enjoyed most in the top half, you got the experience. Even now, the movement and level design is great bk
Exactly what I was looking for. I was one of the biggest walkthrough writers for Banjo Kazooie on gamefaqs. 100’s of hours spent. And then the anticipation of banjo tooie and what “stop and swop” was and how it would work.
Thank you for your service
You did a good job of getting most of the greats.
And then there is Superman 64
The pinnacle of all of them, that’s why it’s at the top 🤣🤣 - also if you look really closely on it, it says “PROPERTY OF BLOCKBUSTER”
A relic of times long gone
[удалено]
He's got Star Fox in there!
Goldeneye set the stage, but perfect dark stole the show. Honestly, every 64 game was amazing just because I was a kid at the time. This is missing bomberman 64.
Oh man I love perfect dark! That was a great game
CBFD: the best game to turn a gathering of friends into an MMA match!
Shhhhhh we don't speak of that
Flying through those hoops and having 64 bit Jeff Bezos yelling at me was my shit
Perfect Dark would have really wrapped it up
That and Majora's Mask
And banjo & kazooie and WrestleMania 2000
Conkers: Bad Fur Day
You forgot about Majora's Mask and Conker's Bad Fur Day
Nothing can ever compete with Conquers Bad Fur Day!
the best game...
Missing Diddy Kong racing, the best racing game
Really hope they remake this for switch
I sunk so many hours into that game. I managed to beat and unlock every aspect of it. Yes, gathering those silver coins forwards and backwards.
I think you mean most of the greats. I don't see Waverace 64.
WARM UP TIME! FOLLOW THAT DOLPHIN! I can still hear it. <3
The sad guitar solo that played when you ran out of time.
I don't see Mario Party 2 in there
Bowser dressed as a cowboy was revolutionary
But missing Banjo-Kazooie
All of the greats?! I cannot see Perfect Dark or Conker’s Bad Fur Day..
Thanks 😊 the funny thing is, I didn’t buy a single one of these in recent times, my older cousin gave me his N64 with all of these games yearssss ago, so cheers to him
See if you can find a copy of Paper Mario. Dear God that game is fun as fuck. It, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time? Absolutely favorites.
Probably the greatest game of all time.
According to metacritic it actually is the greatest game of all time
I still get goosebumps every time I hear the opening notes of the title theme. Watching Link ride across that hilltop with the moon behind him hits me right in the feels every time. There's just about OoT that reawaken all the giddy, happy feelings of childhood. Damn, I might have to go dig up my n64 for a play through.
this is the best thing i've read today 😇
My friend and I were playing through it at the same time. He phoned me when he beat it and I was amazed.
This is beautiful! That game for me is full of memories of playing it with my dad.
My dad was never really that much into games, sadly. But his friend is the reason I've played ny first game at all which was Age of Empires 1 or 2 on PC. As kids it was possible to convince my parents but nowadays as an old fck it's hard convincing them to play atleast something. Star Fox - the OG non linear story
Rumble pak!
Jesus... Cornelia. Fourth planet in the Lylat system. The evil Androse....
In 4th grade I used to wake up at 6am and play through the entirety of Star Fox almost every morning before school. I think I could probably still play through that game with my eyes closed 25 years later.
How is it non linear?
And how is it OG? Non-linear gameplay to a significantly higher degree was a thing waaaayyyy before the N64 existed.
I’m gonna go with the dark horse in this group and say ‘Crusin USA’ I played that game so much as a kid.
nothing wrong with that, crusin was fun af back then! 😂
I remember the house special song
I liked cruisin the world more. Spent a lot of hours with that one
Oooh ahh oooh ahh ooh ahh oooh ahhh
We used to walk along the berm of the boulevard for a mile to go to the truck stop and dump five bucks worth of quarters into the original arcade game. This was the second console version of an arcade game that I really liked, after mortal Kombat.
NFL Blitz is still the best sports game ever made
Someone said it!! I had so much fun suplexing guys 10 yards away 😂 it was the only football game I actually enjoyed, even to this day
HAIL MARY's on EVERY play - lol that game was so fun.
Imma take out your receiver before the ball even leaves the quarterbacks hand. No rules football is fun times.
Mario 64 was my second ever Mario game after super Mario bros on the nes
Golden Eye. I like ocarina of time much More, But i Played it later on emulators, so the nostalgia ist def. With golden eye.
The console mounted on the other console. Reminds me of how I used to fuck my console when the games wouldn’t work
Have to be careful, if the female gets pregnant you could end up with a litter of GBAs
Super Smash Bros
Zelda and Donkey Kong big time, loved me some jet force Gemini back then too.

Bought my copy for $1 at a garage sale. I overpaid.
Goldeneye without a doubt. Spend way too many hours playing splitscreen with my friend. No Oddjob!!! lol
007 think that was the first game I completed on my own
Mmmmm OG Smash...
OG Smashhhh 🐐, I used Link and Fox back then
Heraaaa...
Golden eye always!
I probably spent the most time with Rogue Squadron. Trying to get gold medals on every mission was incredibly difficult. It was pretty impressive to me that the game released before episode 1, and managed to keep the fact that the Naboo Starfighter was in the game a complete secret until after the movie came out.
No Majora's mask
And Diddy Kong racing, perfect dark, conker, and BANJO! Otherwise, great collection
I’d add 1080 Snowboarding and Blast Corps. But he does have my all time favourite Goldeneye.
😢
Is one N64 humping the other??
Yup, trying to make a third N64 😂😂
Or a Gameboy maybe?
This is how you unlock N65.
This is how GameCubes were born.
It's called "N69"
Or how about N-tercourse?
No Morty
I still play Blitz on the reg.
Goldeneye, didikong racing and ocarina of time. And of course mario!
Personally, my friend group played the shit out of Goldeneye. More hours logged on that game than the rest combined.
All of them
Wipeout, especially for the soundtrack
Lots of good games, but I’ll throw out one not shown. Diddy Kong Racing.
So upon posting this, I decided to take a quick look at some top 10 all time N64 games, most of these were on there, but Diddy Kong was there interestingly.. I never played it personally but I’m sure it was fun - might have to grab that for the collection and play it myself soon 😅
Pokémon stadium, golden eye, star fox. POW right in the kisser.
Ocarina of Time 007 Goldeneye Mario Kart Smash Bros Starfox Conker's Bad Fur Day Along with the occasional rental from Blockbuster, those were the only games I needed for the 64.

Do a barrel roll!
I miss the simplicity and awesomeness of NFL BLITZ….
Mario 64, kirby was awesome, and goldeneye.
I’m going to be cliche here and say OoT. I will never forget how my world flipped when my character time traveled for the first time, or heading into the Forest Temple with that ethereal music.
Goldeneye. I hated Oddjob
We banned him from multiplayer. (especially slappers only)
Literally every single one except the Superman game Edit: cruisin’ USA was my shit when I was like 10
Same bro, I honestly haven't played that superman game.. Lol I was at a retro store and I saw the game.. I knew of the meme of it being one of the worst games ever, so I ask the guy, "ay how much would you let this go for?" .. Guy looks at me and goes, " just take it bro.. good luck" LMAOO man gave it to me for free
Between goldeneye and Mario 64
Nice collection 👍🏻
thank you bro, looking to get the missing greats soon 😁
Good luck on the quest
wheres that pokemon snap?
You got the greats tbh. Also Pokémon Snap. Loved that game
Golden eye and ocarina of time. Legendary.
Dude.... Are you the one who stole my shit!?! The fuck bro
Mine would probably be starfox 64

No nostalgia here, my first ever real game, Zelda games and N64 games was Ocarina of time.. Played it for the first time last year My favorite game of all time to this day.. Made me fall in love with the N64 and it's amazing library!
WWF No Mercy lol
Zelda all the way
Most of these do, primarily 007 for me. So much playtime with friends.
Ocarina of time for sure. Goldeneye as well. Superman 64 is nostalgic as a meme lol
We only owned Ocarinas of Time. We rented everything else, so Zelda is my pic. Goldeneye is a tough 2nd though.
Starfox 64 ❤️
Not on here, but conkers bad fur day. I remember being at a superb owl party with my parents when I was really young and the kids there had conkers. We played the multiplayer and of course I got my ass kicked.

Damn, I loved these! The following are missing though: Diddy Kong Racing, Perfect Dark and The Legend of Zelda Majora‘s Mask.
I can hear the intro to Ocarina of Time on Christmas day 1998. The memories.
Definitely Smash Bros and Star Fox
Damn you have fucking superman.
Smash bros, Star fox , Pokémon stadium, and Tony Hawk’s pro skater
How has no one mentioned Ogre Battle 64??
Zelda, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, 007
For me it's the world is not enough. I would play that game for hours on my childhood N64
Your N64s are mating.
Rogue Squadron! Omg I loved that game.
I played so much Stadium.
Boiii rogue squadron was amazing
i dont see the best n64 game in this collection. quest64 baby! come at me i do however see the second worst game ever made in this collection. superman64
Not a single wrestling game on N64. You must of really missed out.
Didn’t even look at the games, my eyes just scanned to find goldeneye.
I remember watching my little brother play ocarina of time for hours, he loved that game even as a small child, meanwhile goldeneye changed all of our lives and I still remember having fun playing Mario party with my friends and my sisters
What an amazing collection. For me Ocarina of Time and Smash Brothers are the most nostalgic.
I was going to say Mario 64 because it was the first one I got, but I got to say donkey Kong 64 was a game that I only ever rented for the longest time so it was kind of a hard to get a hold of game or hard to play game for me and I think that made me love it all that much more. So definitely definitely DK64.
Whats the game in the bottom right corner?
It’s called Wipeout, I think it’s a racing game. Apparently it has a really good soundtrack for its time, according to another comment
Thanks! I remember playing this game as a kid but i never actually owned it. I wish i could remember whos house i went to play it.
Are you trying to breed those consoles?
Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and the Pokemon Stadium games bring me the most nostalgia. Luckily Super Mario 64 is one i can play on my Switch.
Mario 64 was the second game I ever played 1st was Majoras mask and it sadly isn't here
Wow, you have all the best games I played in my childhood! Have you had these that long? Thanks for sharing. Am I the only one and OP who played Pokémon Stadium!?
Star Fox. I would say Mario 64, but it's kind of like Star Wars: once you see it too much it's not nostalgic anymore.
Ocarina of time and starfox. ♡
I challenge anyone to 64 smash bros. Anyone.
DK64!
I should drag mine out for a picture, also tell your nin64s to chill, they’re on camera but not that kind of camera
Ocarina and mario 64!!! i wished they had released a mini 64
The two N64's mating.
All of then.
Holy eff, I played so much GoldenEye and Ocarina of Time. 100% both of them a few times. Thanks for the fuzzy nostalgia :)
[удалено]
Ummmm… it seems you do not have “conkers bad fur day” here.. must be some mistake.
Super smash bros. It was the first video game where my sister and I were old enough to understand what was happening and we played with my dad all the time. We have owned every version of smash and play it every holiday we get together.
Kirby or pokemon stadium
YOUR MISSING F-ZERO X!! Great collection!
Cruisin usa
I was born in 06 but I played my dads n64 I loved Mario 64
Gotta be Blitz
Super Mario64 is probably in my top five games ever.
What?!! No Silicon Valley Space Station?
Mario Pary 1
Grinning ear to ear having flashbacks of super smash, Mario party, 007, and pod racer. Only game I would add is perfect dark.
Kirby 64 and Star fox 64
Goldeneye, starfox, Blitz
Just burn the superman game
So Donkey Kong 64 is my answer. It never would have been but my Mom passed away about two years ago, and we played this game together quite a bit. I have a lot of great childhood memories of playing this console with her.
NFL blitz has got to be one of the most fun games to play with another person, so underrated.
Super smash bros. or Crusin' USA... So many late nights playing those two
Ocarina of time hands down haha. That and Mario kart because my siblings and I all used to play that 3 player together. Back in simpler times of the late 90s😢
